"Kaa-san!" you cried as you embraced her in your arm.
"I'm here, N/N. Don't worry, I'm unscathed." your mother soothed you.
"But..but I don't..get it." you stated, trying to wipe your tears away, "How was the police be able to save you? And what about the kidnappers? Will they come back and try to----"
Your mother hushed you. "Silly daughter, stop over-worrying. The police had captured those kidnappers. We're safe now." your mother smiled warmly.
You looked into her eyes. You could tell she was hiding something but decided not to press.
"Y/N!" you heard someone call you. You saw Amy, Ian, a girl you do not recognize and Souji came dashing towards you.
"Amy, Ian-kun, Sou-chan." you said then you turned to the girl.
"Oh nice to meet you. My name is Yayoi." she introduced herself, extended her hands.
You smiled back, "Nice to meet you Yayoi-chan. I'm Y/N!"
"Aunt (Y M/N), I'm so glad your safe," Souji stated, pretending not to know anything. Your mother got the signal and continued the conversation.
"Thanks, Sou-chan. I must have worried you and your father a lot right? I didn't mean to. I'm sorry." Your mother stated.
"You don't have to apologize, auntie. You're like a second mother to me." Souji replied. Your mother just nodded and smiled. She then turned to the rest of the groups.
"Oh I almost forgot, Kaa-san, let me introduce you to Sou-chan's friend." you turned to them.
"This is Amy. That's Yayoi. The one is black in Ian." you told her.
"Nice to meet you all, Sou-chan's friends." your mother greeted them.
"Nice to meet you too, auntie! We're glad that you are safe," they told her.
"Wait...you guys knew?" you asked them, assuming from their statement.
"Umm...." Ian stammered. Thankfully, Amy intervened in time, "Actually when you dropped your phone earlier, I talked to the hospital nurse and they informed me everything."
"How could you not tell us anything, Y/N?" Amy asked, pretending to scold at you. Yayoi nodded in agreement.
"Sorry. It's just that this my family issue. I do not want to let you all in on this ride, even though i know you are capable of protecting yourself." you explained to them.
You could feel Souji's eyes on you.
"Well....at least everything is okay now. Let's bygones be gone, alright?" Ian stated, trying to lighten up the mood, especially the tension between you and Souji.
Everyone just nodded. Your mother smiled, she was happy that you made some great new friends.
"Oh Auntie, Tou-san said he will pick us up later and you can rest at our house," Souji informed your mother. You turned to look at them.
"Wouldn't it bother your family?" your mother asked.
"It's fine. Like I said, N/N and I grew up together, we're basically siblings by now." Although I wish we could be more than that. Souji explained.
Siblings? I guess he doesn't feel the same...you sighed in your thought. But what am I thinking? I have already caused enough chaos with this visit of mine...I couldn't possibly...
"Y/N!" you heard everyone call you. You snapped out of your thought.
"Yes?" you replied.
"Are you okay? You space out for a moment." Amy asked worriedly.
"Yeah. Maybe we should head home and rest." your mother said. You could see Souji looking at you.
Ian got the signal and decided to
"Auntie, how about I bring you out first? I think Uncle is probably here by now." Ian suggested. Your mother nodded.
"We'll help finish up your paperwork for hospital release," Amy stated and dragged Yayoi out as well.
There was only you and Souji left.
"Are you okay?" Souji asked, stepping closer to you and putting one hand on your shoulder.
You somehow felt your heart beating faster. "I'm fine, don't worry." you smiled at him.
He sighed, he leaned down to look at you straight in the eyes.
"N/N, I'm sorry. I should have not said those things to you when we were back at the cafe. I know you were just trying to look out for me. Something is just meant to be kept hidden, so I---" Souji said. You stopped him with an embrace.
"It's okay, Sou-chan. I know you were just trying to help. I know you were just worried about my well-being. I should not hide it but confront it right off the bat so you could understand my situation." you told him.
He hugged you back. You two stay there for a while before you heard Amy and Yayoi coughed.
You two immediately pulled out and blushed hard.
"Alright, you two. We should get going." Yayoi teased. The two head out first while you two followed after.

When you got back at Souji's house...
You suddenly feel sour.
"Souji!" Rin called him and ran up and hugged him. "I miss you so much!"
"Rin," Souji said in shock. He glanced at you but see you eyed away. He quickly pulled her out.
"You're back?" Souji asked.
"Of course! What do you mean by that question? I came back early just to see you!" Rin fumed. She then turned to see you and the rest.
"Where did you go?" she asked, glaring at you.
Your mother could see that you were uncomfortable and decided to step up.
"Sou-chan, Y/N, and his friends were just picking me from the hospital." your mother stated.
"And who might you be?" Rin asked in a rude tone.
"Rin, watch your tone!" a voice stated from behind. It was none other than Souji's father. He came back after parking the car away.
"Uncle!" you all stated.
"You're talking to Y/N's mother," Souji informed Rin. Rin's eye widened.
"I am so sorry, Auntie. I did not know." Rin apologized. You rolled your eyes as you saw her complete turning 180º with that fake attitude.
Yayoi just looked away. While Ian and Amy both did 'Oh my'.
"Rippukan-san, how are you?" your mother asked.
"I'm doing well, (Y M/N)-san. Come on, let's get you in," he stated. You went by your mother's side and helped her in.
"Well...Name-chan, Boy-yah, we'll take our leave!" Ian stated. Amy and Yayoi also waved goodbye.
"Thank everyone." you smiled at them. You could see Rin's eye on you, but you didn't understand why. Until you see Souji was walking side by side you.
She immediately ran up to Souji and clung to his arm. "Souji-kun, could we have a quick talk?" she demanded.
Souji sighed and nodded.
"it's okay Y/N. I feel like everything is going to be alright." Souji's father told you.
"eh?" you didn't get what he meant by that.
"He cares about you a lot Y/N." Souji's father explained after your mother settled on the living room's sofa.
"I know. But I'm only a little sister to him, Uncle," you said.
"You never know, N/N. I also feel like Sou-chan has feelings for you. And it might be the same for you." your mother hinted.
This left you in deep thought. Your mother and Souji's father secretly smiled at each other as they saw you begin to think deeper.

At Souji and Rin...
"Tell me. Were you cheating on me while I was gone?" Rin demanded to know.
"What? Where did you even get that thought?" Souji asked.
"Don't lie to me. I sensed it even before I left. You liked Y/N!" Rin stated.
Souji just rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue. Rin still glared at him.
"I am going to confront her then if you are not answering," Rin stated. But Souji grabbed Rin's arm harshly and held her there.
"Ouch!" She yelped.
"Sorry." He said.
"Well...." Rin stated.
silent. Rin was about to walk to find you but Souji stopped her.
"No, wait...I have something to tell you," he stated.
"Spit," she said, crossing her arm and glaring at him.
"Let's break up,"
