The first thing that Seraphina noticed when she opened her eyes was darkness so she instinctively tried to feel for her surroundings but all she felt was cold hard stone on either side of her and above her so she gathered all of her strength and kicked outward causing the wall at her feet to explode outward.

The newly awakened vampire slowly and cautiously made her way out of the crypt that she was put in. As her feet touched the ground she looked around confused not quite remembering what had happened yet. She notices that she's in a crypt but her mind is still a little fuzzy and she doesn't know why she just woke up in a crypt.

She steps outside and looks around still confused everything looked different she could immediately see that as she's walking through the cemetery she sees a man she walks towards him determined to get answers and clear some of her confusion "Sir?"

The man looks at her "Can I help you?"

Seraphina nods "can you tell me what year it is?"

The man looks at her strangely "are you okay?"

Seraphina rolls her eyes "I'm not sure yet... I woke up in a crypt, I can't remember how I got there or how long it's been so please tell me what year it is."

"2028... I think you should come with me and I will answer whatever questions you have."

Seraphina looks at him skeptically "I don't know you... for all, I know you are gonna take me somewhere and try to kill me"

"My name is Alaric and I am the headmaster of a school not too far from here it's for gifted kids... I'm not gonna hurt you if you would just follow me there I will answer whatever other questions you may have"

Sera was listening to his heartbeat and she could tell that he was telling the truth so that is how she ended up sitting in his office at The Salvatore School.

Alaric looks at her "what's your name and the last thing you remember?"

Sera closes her eyes thinking for a moment "My name is Seraphina and the last thing I remember is the founding families were hunting vampires" she opens her eyes the memories of what happened coming back to her "I remember now, it was 1864, and Amelie, Konner and I had been in town maybe a year when word got around that the founding families were hunting down all the vampires in town and Amelie wanted to protect me, Konner and I were the only family she had and she wanted to protect me... Konner and I found her when she was a little girl her biological family left her to die in a ditch so we took her in and raised her, Amelie was a witch... she put me under some kind of sleeping spell, she said that when I woke up my mind would be a little fuzzy but it would wear off and it did, Amelie also said things would be different and that I would safe when I woke up." She looks at him with tears in her eyes "I've been asleep for a hundred and sixty-four years..... I didn't know it would be that long.... oh my god what happened to Amelie after she put me to sleep?"

Alaric looks at the girl for a moment "you're a vampire?"

Sera nods at him "yes I am a vampire."

He nods "okay then how old are you physically?"

"18."

Alaric nods again "and in vampire years?"

Sera bites her lip slightly figuring it up in her head "I guess now it would be 700 even it was 536 before Amelie put me to sleep and that was 164 years ago."

"Okay, so how's your control?"

Sera smiles at him "exceptional... I've always prided myself in my control... "if you want to blend in then control is key" is a motto that I've lived by for most of my vampire existence except for the first few years while I was still learning how to control it."

Alaric looks at the girl "well you are still a teenager and you know nothing about the 21st century so I can't send you out into the world not knowing what to expect so Welcome to The Salvatore School... it's a school for kids like you, we have vampires, witches, and werewolves we guide them and teach them control but seeing as you already know probably everything about being a vampire you will be learning about the century that you woke up in."

Sera smiles genuinely at him "thank you that's very kind of you... could you please look into what happened to Amelie? She was the only family I ever had and I need to know what happened to her... Amelie Porter that was her full name." And then she gave a general description of what Amelie looked like last Sera saw her.

Alaric smiles at the girl "I'll see what I can find out" then he presses a button on his desk "Send MG in"

A second later MG appears at the door "yes Dr. Saltzman?"

Sera smiles "thank you."

Alaric looks at the young vampire "MG this is Seraphina, she's going to be going here and I'm tasking you with showing her around... Seraphina this is MG and he'll be your tour guide, he will give you a tour of the school and show you where your room is."

The two walks out of Alaric's office MG looks at the girl "so Seraphina right?"

She nods smiling at him "yes that's right but it's a bit of a mouthful so you can call me Sera if you'd like."

The young Vampire smiled back at the girl "okay so Sera what are you?"

"I'm a vampire."

The younger vampire smiled at her again "oh me too" he shows her around making small talk with the older vampire then they walk up to the twins "Hi Josie, Lizzie"

The brunette twin smiles "HI MG" while the blonde ignores him.

"This is Seraphina she's the new vamp on campus" then he looks at the vampire "Sera this is Josie and Lizzie Saltzman they are Dr. Saltzman's daughters."

Sera smiles at the two "Hi."

Josie smiles "Hi."

Lizzie gives the vamp a look "Hi... what are you wearing?"

The older vampire looks at the blonde Saltzman twin confused "a dress?"

MG looks at the twins "I was about to show her to her room so she could change. I saw you two here and just thought I'd introduce her to you first."

With that, the young vampire took Sera to her room "here is your room there should be some uniforms in the dresser and I will wait out here, and then we will finish your tour."

Sera nods at him with a smile "Thank you" she closes the door walks over to one of the dressers in the room and opens it to find just like MG said school uniforms in the drawer.

She gets dressed into the more modern clothes though they do feel a bit weird but Sera knows she'll get used to it like she always has when the fashions changed throughout the years.

After walking out of her new bedroom Sera smiles at the young vampire again "okay we can continue now."

He nods and shows her the rest of the school ending in the kitchen "and here is the kitchen, this freezer is where they keep the blood bags."

He opens it and offers one to her Sera smiles taking it "thank you."

She opens it and drinks out of it making a face but MG isn't paying attention to her he sees Kaleb walk up "Hey Kaleb."

She drinks the blood but she has to force it down "ugh" animal blood is still just as nasty as it's always been.

Sera throws the now empty blood bag away and turns to look at the boy MG called Kaleb "Hi there"

Kaleb looks at her and MG introduces her "Kaleb this is Seraphina she's the new vamp on campus."

Sera smiles at the other vampire "Call me Sera... Seraphina is such a mouthful."

The other vampire chuckles "I'm Kaleb."

MG looks at Sera "and that is the end of the tour."

The older vampire nods at him "thank you... I believe I can find my way around now if you have something else you need to do "

MG smiles "alright but just yell if you need anything I'll hear it."

Sera nods "you got it... Thank you again, MG even if you didn't have much of a choice in the matter."

"It was no trouble at all" then he walks out of the kitchen leaving Sera there with Kaleb who notices the way the girl's nose scrunches up as she gets an aftertaste from the animal blood "ugh... that's still just as disgusting as I remember it to be."

Kaleb looks at the girl slightly amused "what is?"

Sera looks at him "Animal blood... It's disgusting unless you don't know the difference between human and animal blood then it doesn't matter... well, actually that's a personal opinion... now if you'll excuse me I am going to go and explore a little bit get a lay of the land."

The older vampire walked out of the kitchen and started exploring a bit on her own she came across and girl alone it looked like she was doing some training so Sera walked up to her and spoke "Hi."

It startled the girl so she threw the staff in her hand at Sera but Sera was faster even after not having properly fed since she woke up.

"Sorry."

Sera smiled "it's alright... I didn't mean to startle you I'm Seraphina but you can call me Sera."

She tosses the staff back to the girl "Hope Mikaelson... I haven't seen you around are you new?"

Sera nodded at the girl "Mikaelson you say? and yeah first day... I just got here a few hours ago."

The auburn-haired tribrid nodded at her "yep, so what are you then?"

Sera smiled at her "I knew a Mikaelson once, and I'm a vampire"

Hope looked at her for a moment "you know now that you mention it your name sounds really familiar, I think I've heard my uncle Konner mention it."

Sera smiled at the girl "probably, considering that is the Mikaelson I knew."

Hope saw the way Sera was smiling talking about her uncle "you loved him didn't you?"

"Yes, very much." Hope smiled to herself, knowing that she was going to call her uncle later, knowing that he had that exact smile whenever he spoke about Sera, he would be happy to know that she was alive.

After talking to the girl a bit longer Sera let her get back to her training and familiarized herself with the place even more than when she was getting the tour before she headed back to her room, which once she walked back in she realized that the bed on the far side of the room was no longer bare but had been made up.

She smiled sadly looking around still wondering what happened to Amelie after she was put to sleep, she hoped that Alaric could find something that would ease her mind about what happened to the girl that she came to see as a daughter.

Once she knew about Amelie she would focus on Konner but she knew that he was still alive but Amelie was just a witch and could be dead, she just didn't know.

I wanted it to be as close to perfect as I could get it by giving you a little bit of Sera's backstory and her meeting a few of the main people at the school so I decided that the first few chapters are going to be pre-season one and lead into the first episode.
