Kim Taehyung, Minatozaki Sana and Jeon Jungkook.

Since they were children, the trio had always been spotted hanging around each other. Back then, they were so young, innocent and carefree. None would have thought that anything could ever come between their friendship.

How naive.

Things took a dramatic change when the youngest of the bunch reached 18. The day after Jungkook's adult ceremony, he decided to confess to Sana, not expecting that she'd answer him with a sad apology due to her unrequited love for the other male in their group at the moment.

That rainy day, Jungkook left with a wounded pride and promised that he would never allow himself to taste the bitterness of rejection again. He still cared for her a lot, yet determined not to keep any lingering romantic intention.

Ironically, after the Jungkook's confession, Sana became more aware of his caring gestures towards her all this time and eventually developed feelings for him. Unfortunately, her realization was too late.

To add to this mess, Taehyung finally acknowledged that his affection for the Japanese girl was more than simply friends. Before, he was in denial, afraid that it'd cause damage to their precious friendship if something went wrong... However, upon watching a tearful Sana leaving his 20th birthday party in the comforting arms of Jungkook, he knew he's messed up big time. His heart clenched painfully whenever he recalled the events that took place that night. He drank way more than he should have and said some very hurtful words to Sana, words that he wished that he could take back. Despite what others thought, he was very much aware of her little crush on him. In fact, a part of Taehyung had always been proud that he somehow managed to capture the interest of the most attractive girl in their school. However, after that horrible incident, Sana started to avoid him like plague. This bothered him so much, to the point that he couldn't concentrate on other tasks because her image kept haunting him... Hence, he decided that he'd do whatever it took to set things right again between them.

Eventually, Jungkook got a girlfriend - his first girlfriend actually. Unlike Taehyung who had always been a ladies' man, Jungkook wasn't very comfortable around girls (Sana was the only exception). Sana wished him happiness so she buried her feelings deep inside.

Taehyung was able to have an one-on-one talk with Sana and as expected, the kind-hearted female forgave him.

Thus, the three were back to being friends. But of course, things couldn't return to the way they once were, for the individuals who got involved in this tricky love game now all bear a scar close to their hearts - ones that would take lots of time and effort to heal.

Who knew adulthood could be so cruel?
