The solar eclipse is today :D

For the last two weeks, I was in the Dominican Republic. It was pretty eventful, haha.
We couldn't use tap water to drink or brush our teeth with because there are microbes in it that we aren't used to. It'd have given any of us a terrible stomach bug thingy.

We went on this buggy tour. It was really dusty, but it was fun. I was in a buggy with my mom and brother, and the first one broke down, the second one's brakes didn't work, so we almost crashed, and the third one was pretty ok. We passed these homes with little kids who were in poverty, and they waved, gave us high fives, raced our buggies, and asked my sister for her towel.
Afterwards, we explored a cave and drank chocolate tea. Which is freaking AMAZING.
It's tea that's chocolate-y with a little bit of cinnamon and now I know what nectar would taste like for me in the Percy Jackson universe.
The next day, this adult orange ladybug landed on my hand. What was strange is that it didn't have any spots whatsoever. When I had to go, I carefully put the ladybug on the grass.
Apparently it followed me, because when I was about to sit and play chess against my dad, I found the same ladybug on my leg.

The next day, I stepped on something sharp while in the pool, and looked down. It was metal, so I dived down and picked it up.
It was a diamond earring.

The thing holding the diamond was heavily corroded, suggesting it's been in the pool for a while. Also, there's a high chance it's real.
My dad and I tried to find and contact the owner, but didn't succeed. So I got to keep the earring. We're yet to have it taken to the jewelers near my house, to have it looked at.

Also, before dinner, my brother ordered chocolate milk in a beer glass. The reactions of the waiter nearby and the bartender were pretty funny.

One night there was a cat wandering the lobby. I wanted to adopt him.
My brother and his friend named him skinny Garfield.

He was pretty used to humans, as he just walked up to us and sat down.

Yesterday, we left. I had been feeling nauseous since I woke up.
In the middle of the plane flight home, I threw up. In the isle. My mom took care of me, taking me to the bathroom in the front. The people around me in the flight were really sweet about it. Three people gave me paper bags, and this one person gave me baby wipes to clean up, as well as mint gum and mint lifesavers.
The flight attendants were a little worse. The same person who gave me baby wipes commented that a flight attendant who had checked on me gave me only a half smile. Also, they all looked pretty annoyed about practically everything on the flight.

Needless to say, it's good to be home.
