A Blow Taken (1)

What if Sans Saved Papyrus during the genocide run?
Papyrus's POV:
I was facing the human. I knew they could do better. "Human! I will give you mercy!" I said gleefully. They stepped forward. Maybe they listened!
"Are you stepping forward for a hug of acceptance? Wowie! My lessons are already working! Human, I accept your mercy!" I exclaimed. I had gotten through to them!
They stepped closer. When they got close to me, they suddenly whipped out their knife and slashed it towards me. I closed my eyes. But the hit never came. I heard two gasps, one of disbelief and one of pain.
A familiar body stumbled against me. I opened my eyes to see my brother leaning against me. Why was he here? I noticed that the human's knife was red with blood.
I then saw blood covering the snow in front of my brother and blood covering his chest. He stopped leaning against me and grabbed my wrist before facing the wide-eyed human.
"Not today, kid." He snarled. Suddenly, blue flashed around us, then we were suddenly in WaterFall. Sans stumbed then collasped on the ground. That's when I saw the wound. A giant gash was gouged in his chest.
It was seeping blood. I gasped and crouched beside him. "SANS! Are you okay?!" I asked him, panicking. He laughed weakly. "For now." He said.
Flowey came up out of the ground. His eyes widened. "S-Sans?! What's happened?!" He asked me frantically, his voice different. It was somehow familiar....
I shook my head at myself. I could figure it out later. "Flowey! Go get Undyne! Please! I don't want my brother to die!" I begged him, tears threatening to spill.
He nodded and sank back down into the soil. I turned back to Sans, who's body was beginning to dissolve. "Bro, you know as well as I do that I'm not going to make it." He stated.
"But promise me something, okay? Stay away from the human. And tell every monster, even Undyne, to stay away. It has too much determination. It will never be beat. Even Asgore wouldn't stand a chance against it. Tell everyone to hide. In their homes, in the water, in basements. The human will go past the barrier. Tell Asgore to hide the souls." He said.
"Why?" I asked. "Please. You'll die. I can't bare to see that, not again. Never, ever again." He said, murmuring the end of his sentence.
Blood ran down his chin.
I looked up as I heard something running towards us. It was another human. In fact, it had fallen down before Frisk, so I knew them.
"Kelly! Help us!" I shouted. She scidded to a halt in front of us and crouched on Sans's other side, which was rapidly fading. She didn't speak. She simply placed her hand on the wound. Healing magic started knitting up the gash.
Her bright green eye glowed green and gold. Suddenly, Undyne was running over, panting. She froze as she saw the sight of us.
She watched in silence as Sans's wound healed and faded. However, the blood was still there as well as the hole where the gash was.
Sans opened his eyes. "H-How am I alive?" He asked, eyes widening when he realized his wound was gone. "I used healing magic to save you." Kelly said, standing up and offering Sans a hand up. He accepted.
He wiped the blood from his mouth.
Undyne spoke. "Sans... are you okay? You're literally covered in your own blood...." She pointed out, her voice trailing off at the end.
He glanced up. "I'm fine, thanks to Kelly's healing. But there's no time to wash up. There's a murderous human running around and killing monsters. We need to stop them." He said, earning a soft gasp from Undyne, who clearly didn't know the human was in the underground.
Kelly nodded in agreement to Sans. "We'll need someone to run ahead and notify Asgore and Alpys about the human. Papyrus, you have the longest legs and certainly a lot of energy. You can pass the message the quickest." She explained to me.
"I don't know. The human might hurt you while I'm gone..." My voice trailed off in my worry.
"Hey, Paps. If you do this, you'll be treated like a hero. Imagine it, the Great Papyrus, the one who warned the underground of danger. Wouldn't that be amazing?" Sans asked me. I thought about it. "Yes! You are correct! I shall do this noble deed!" I exclaimed, and with that, I ran off.
