Virgil's POV:
I was on a giant flying ring in the sky that was an alien spaceship. I woke up in the air vents. Why? No idea. I sighed. Roman would know what to do. Logan, too. Heck, Patton would be good. Not me. I sighed again and continued crawling around to find an exit. I put my weight on a weak plate and fell through, only to land on a deck with three other people on it.
I sat up, rubbing my head, only to have energy guns pointed at me. "People wanting to kill me. Yay." I said sarcastically, groaning in slight pain.
(Time Skip brought to you by Virgil's ever persistent sarcasm)
Believe it or not, we won against Thanos. We used the Soul Stone to bring Gamora back, and the group fighting on Titan were taken to Earth thanks to Thor's crazy teleporting axe. Tony, being Tony, said we should celebrate with a party at Avengers Tower.
I had figured, since I had fought beside them, that they deserved to know who I was. So I told them in the main room with Thor, Tony, Dr. Strange, T'challa, Vision, and Cap. Peter Parker was also there, sitting next to me, but not too close for comfort. I told them of my past life, and my life as a trait, fingering the folded up photograph in my hand.
"And it's been twenty eight years since that day." I finished. They blinked. "So, you're technically, what, 34? 36?" Tony asked. "I think? As a trait I would technically be 28, like Thomas, my host. But I really don't know." I said. Dr. Strange accepted the answer with a nod. "So the traits in the Mindscape, they really believe Anxiety is bad?" Peter Parker asked.
I shrugged seemingly carelessly. "Yeah. They think I only cause destruction. But at the same time, they act so much like my family. Princey acts regal and loves Disney, like Roman. Morality is always bouncey and bubbly, like Patton. And Logic loves science and physics, like Logan. I can't help but wonder... if they actually are my family." I said.
Thor nodded. "Why can't we just summon one here? Strange could certainly do it, and we could tell them. And if they are one of Virgil's friends from his past life, then they can reunite!" He suggested. I blinked. "I dunno... maybe?" I said. I considered. "Okay. I would summon Logic, 'cause if you summon Morality and he's Patton, there will probably be sobbing. If you summon Princey and he's Roman, he'd probably kiss me. Whereas if you summoned Logic, it would be much less awkward, as neither of us really like physical contact." I decided.
Strange blinked, but nodded and closed his eyes, focusing. Suddenly, Logic was standing next to me. He jumped. "Wait, what? Anxiety? What is the meaning of this?" He asked, taking in the surroundings. I patted the couch next to me. "It's a long story. Best you take a seat." I explained.
He looked skeptical, but sat. We explained what happened with Thanos. Logic blinked, eyes wide. "That is... asute. I must congregate and thank you for preventing half of our destruction. But, did Anxiety truely fight beside you?" He asked.
They all nodded. "Heck, I don't think we'd be able to have won without him!" Tony exclaimed. Dr. Strange smiled. "He fought beside us to the very end. He was snarky and sarcastic, but he would occasionally slip in puns or jokes. It was intresting having him around. Never boring." He agreed.
I smiled at their kindness. "But I wanted to ask you something, Logic. You know how all traits have past lives, right?" I asked. He raised an eyebrow. "Yes?" He said. I took a deep breath. "I think you might be from mine. In my past life, my name was Virgil... Evans. I had only three people in my life truely care for me. Roman Brown, my boyfriend. Patton Taylor, Roman's best friend and my brother's boyfriend. And Logan Evans, my brother. Are you... are you Logan?" I asked.
He stared at me, shocked. Then he smiled, laughed even. "I thought I was alone. Guess not. Yes, Virgil. I am indeed Logan Evans." He confirmed. I grinned widely, and in the corner of my eye, I saw Peter Parker do a fist pump.
I looked ahead to the sunset outside. "Logan, do you think-?" I began. "That Prince is Roman and Morality is Patton? It is possible, but the odds of us all ending up in the same Mindscape? Unlikely." He finished. Strange nodded. "It's entirely possible, but it has extremely slim chances." He agreed.
I sighed. "Logan and I should be getting back to the Mindscape. Thomas will get himself killed without any anxiety or logic." I said. Peter nodded and gave me a paper. "Our phone numbers." He said. Strange nodded and summoned a portal to the Mindscape.
I ruffled Peter's hair. "You know, you're a good kid. And don't you forget it." I said, following Logan through the portal. It closed behind us. We were in the living room. Not two seconds passed before we were summoned.
We appeared to a confused host and two worried traits. "Guys, why couldn't I feel your influences?" Thomas asked us. I raised my eyebrow. "Don't you not want my influence? Don't you hate anxiety?" I asked. Thomas looked down.
"I did. But without you, I didn't any worry at all. I tried to stick a fork in the toaster and tried to jugle knives. I realized that while you are my anxiety, you're also my caution, my fight-or-flight reflexes. And without you, I wouldn't last a day on my own, not even an hour.
"I realize now that we were wrong about you. And I'm so sorry of how we treated you and-" He started, speaking fast. I stopped him by standing up and hugging him. "I know. And I forgive you." I said. He hugged back. I pulled away and went back to my spot.
"However, I want to say something. Thomas, all traits were once humans, living our own lives. We refer to these as our past lives." I began. Thomas gasped. "So you guys weren't always traits?" He asked. I smiled and shook my head. "But I've got a question for Princey and Morality. Your past lives. Your names. Were they Roman and Patton? Roman Brown and Patton Taylor?" I asked. They gasped.
"How did you possibly know our names?" Princey asked. I smiled, snapping my fingers and making us all look like we did in our past lives. I met my now emerald green eyes with two pairs of wide eyes, bright blue and chocolate brown. "Lucky guess."

Peter's POV:
I knew that no matter what, fighting Thanos, we couldn't lose, not with my ability to 'reset' as it were. It had now been 116 resets and Thanos had won every time. Of course, my power came with a price. Every time I reset, a flower appeared on my skin, only visable to me. But when I had fulfilled my 'destiny', they would appear visable to all of them.
This time, we actually managed to take down Thanos. But as soon as he collapsed, I followed suit, breathing suddenly ragged with hacking coughs. The others didn't notice my trouble at first, but then Dr.Strange noticed. I knew the flowers were visable now, one covering my eye.
He said, "Oh Mary, contrary, how does your garden grow? Come with me, and you'll be, the seventh maid in a row."
"Guys." Dr.Strange began, making his way over the wreckage to me. Tony and Starlord, seeing me, soon followed. Everyone came over as I struggled for breath. They sat around me. "Guys, no need to ask." I said before they could speak. "I... have an ability to restart time from a certain point, though I am the only one who remembers each timeline after I went back from it. In truth, Thanos has actually won 116 times. These 'restarts' are known as 'resets', and for each reset, a flower appears on my body. I can only have certain amount of flowers before I begin to suffocate. The flowers were only visable to my sight, but only after we defeated Thanos could they appear." I explained.
My answer was laughter, soft as I lowered my head. "You're too late, I'm afraid. This flower's already dead."
Sans's head snapped up at the word 'reset'. The others just looked too shocked to say anything. "Is there any way to reverse the flowers?" Starlord asked. I shrugged. "No clue." I said numbly with a bout of coughing. Dr.Strange looked saddened. "I don't think there's anything we can do." He responded quietly. Tony looked ready cry and yell at the same time.
I said, "Oh Mary, contrary, how does your garden grow?"
Sans patted my shoulder gently. "Monster Kind will always remember you for what you did in the Underground, making friends with everyone. And kid? I know about the resets. I've watched the timelines go by. And you, you got the worst of it any way you slice it. In one, when Thanos snapped and you and half the universe were dying, you said you could feel yourself ripping apart, not to mention feeling the fear of half the entire universe-" He cut himself off as Thanos somehow rose.
His answer, was laughter, as darkness swallowed him whole.
"One more time, I'll be fine." I began, pressing the button.
Sometimes kindness is enough.
Sans's POV:
Damn that kid. We fought Thanos again, and this time, made sure he was dead. I froze as the sound of a body collasping to the ground rang through the air. Peter Parker could not even sit up, like before.
Oh Mary, contrary, how does you garden grow? Don't leave me, please don't be, the seventh maid in a row.
I teleported over to him, the other running towards us. In a final moment he held out his soul to me.
His answer, a whisper, soft as I lowered my head.
"Set them free, I'm sorry, this flowers already dead."
Then just as the others had reached me, Peter's body melted into flower petals, blowing away on the wind and leaving behind a heartbroken group, and a soul of kindness floating in my palm.
