Summer's Lost Light (1)
Fandoms: Magnus Chase and Heros of Olympus
Ships: Hinted Fierrochase and Blitzstone (and of course the canon Hero's of Olympus ships such as Jiper and Percabeth)
Timeline: After the events of Hammer of Thor (but in this Annabeth hasn't re-met Magnus in the first book)
What if the Seven met Magnus and his friends on a trip to Boston?
Annabeth's POV:
Chiron called us all into the Big house. Now we were all sat in the living room. I noticed Nico and Will were also there as Chiron passed out lemonade to us. He settled in his wheel chair. "Heros, you still have work to be done. Rachel has had a prophecy." He said.
Percy sighed. "What was the prophecy?" Jason asked. "Heros of Olympus up to ten, a family relation you must befriend. Children of Greek and Norse, for the enemy, you'll hold remorse. The sun will trace the sky, and you'll realize what was lost and why." Chiron recited.
We glanced at each other. "Where should we go to fufill the prophecy?" Piper asked. "Well, it said 'A family relation you must befriend'. Does anyone have family in another part of the world? Like, our age? It can't mean our mortal parents." Hazel said.
"I only have my grandmother, and I don't even know if she's still alive. So it couldn't be me." Frank said. "I only have my mom, and she's in Long Island too, so it couldn't be me." Percy said. "All my family's dead, Piper only has her dad, Jason has his sister, but she's a Hunter. Leo's still missing. So who could it be?" Hazel asked.
Then I remembered my family in Boston. "I have family in Boston. An aunt, an uncle, and a cousin. He should be around the same age as us now." I explained. Chiron dipped his head. "Then you should go, and bring Nico and Will with you." He said.
"But that's only eight!" I exclaimed. "There's no one else who can help. You'll have to go with eight." Chiron said. I nodded. "Since Leo isn't here, you'll have to take a train. One leaves for Boston in thirty minutes." He said. Eight train tickets appeared on the table. "Pack quickly, and may the Fates be on your side." He said.
We left thirty minutes later, with money, amborisa, nectar, extra clothes, and weapons tucked in our bags. In the meantime, I told them about my family as much as I could. I hadn't seen them in eight years, so I only knew so much.
We arrived in Boston the next afternoon and got a room in a hotel. Next we walked around, trying to decide how and where we would fufill the prophecy. Then, across the street, we saw a short guy being dragged at 50 miles an hour by shoes with wings on them, much like the ones that dragged Grover towards Tarturus. Four people were running after him. The short guy was screaming.
"We should go after them." Percy said. We nodded in agreement. Hazel called Arion and Frank turned into a cheetah. Jason grabbed Piper and they shot after them. Percy grabbed a motor cycle and we both got on. Nico and Will got on another and we sped after them.
Hazel's POV:
I raced after them on Arion. We soon caught up with them and I was riding beside a dark haired girl with a green hijab on. "Who are you?" She shouted to me. "Hazel! My friends are catching up to help!" I called back. "Why?" She asked. "It's not every day you see a random person getting dragged across the street at 50 miles an hour by shoes with wings!" I replyed.
"True. Blitzen put them on and the next thing we knew, he's speeding down the street!" She agreed. "What's your name?" I asked. "Sam. The blond guy is Magnus, the guy with the striped scarf is Hearthstone, and the green-haired girl is Alex. Alex is gender-fluid, and Hearth is deaf." Sam replyed.
I noticed she was running out of breath. "Come up! You're falling behind!" I exclaimed, streching out my hand. She accepted and I pulled her up behind me. I saw Frank running right behind us and Percy, Annabeth, Nico, and Will on motor cycles behind us. I heard two yelps of suprise and wings beating above. A roar soon followed. "DRAGON!" Blitzen screamed.
I looked up and saw Festus in full dragon form. Leo and another girl sat on his back. "Leo! Ask Festus to stop Blitzen before he reaches the cliff!" I yelled, pointing to the cliff and Blitzen.
Leo saw what I meant. "Festus! Grab that guy before he reaches the cliff and goes splat!" He yelled. Festus flew over us and grabbed Blitzen in one of his claws. Blitzen yelped. Festus flew him back into the air. Arion stopped at the edge of the cliff. Hearth was going so fast he almost ran off the cliff, but Sam grabbed his jacket collar.
Everyone stopped at the edge. Blitzen was still struggling in Festus's claws. "Calm down, dude! We're only trying to help!" Leo shouted to him. We stopped about 50 feet away from the cliff, where Festus set down. Sam and I got off Arion while Percy, Annabeth, Nico, and Will got off their stolen motor cycles. Percy sliced off the wings on Blitzen's shoes and Jason flew back down with Piper. Leo and the girl slid off of Festus.
We gathered in a circle. Blitzen went to stand beside Hearth and Nico stood beside Will, Piper, and Jason. Basically, we stood on one side of the circle and they stood on the other. Magnus stepped forward. "Thank you for saving my dwarf, I appreciate it. But I'd like to know who you are. All of you." He began.
"Even the horse?" Leo asked. Magnus shrugged. "Sure. Why not?" He replyed. Piper stepped forward. "Of course. My name is Piper Mclean. This is Jason Grace, Nico Di Angelo, Will Solace, Percy Jackson, Leo Valdez, Frank Zang, Hazel Levesque, Annabeth Chase, "- "Calipso." Leo chimed in, pointing to the girl. - "and Arion." Piper finished, pointing to each person (and horse) in turn.
Magnus froze. "A-Annabeth? What are you doing back in Boston?" He asked. Annabeth blinked. "What?" She asked confused. Wait. What was her cousin's name again?
"You're Magnus. Magnus Chase, Annabeth's cousin." I realized out loud. Everyone stared at me, shocked. "How did you know that?" Magnus asked. "When we were chasing Blitzen, I was riding Arion beside Sam. After I told her we were only trying to help, she told me your names." I explained.
"Oh. That makes sense. But seriously, what are you all doing here? It can't be a family visit, nor could it be a vacation. So why are you here?" Magnus asked, but looked calmer and relaxed.
Annabeth glanced around. "We'll tell you, but not here. How do you guys feel about food?" Annabeth asked everyone. Then Hearth signed something ( 'Ok, but somewhere shady. Otherwise, we'll have a petrifyed dwarf on our hands. ). Blitzen looked offended. "I am not petrifying, you crazy elf!" He shouted. Hearth gave him a look and picked up a stray iron pail and slammed it over Blitzen's head, making everyone flinch. Blitzen barely reacted, and the pail was now in the shape of Blitzen's skull.
Hearth took it off and gave him another look. Blitzen stood his ground. "Okay, maybe I'm a little petrified. But still!" Blitzen argued. Hearth gave him yet another look. Magnus sighed. "He's going to get himself petrified. Anyway, food sounds good. And while Hazel knows our names, I think we should tell you all our names anyway." He began.
"The green-haired girl is Alex and also gender-fluid. The girl with a green hijab is Sam." Magnus started. "Do you want to get decapitated again? Let us introduce ourselves, you idiot." Alex said, shooting a glare at Magnus.
"Anyway, the stubborn dwarf is Blitzen, and the worried elf is Hearth and he's also deaf." Alex continued. Suddenly Nico froze. "What is it?" Will and I asked at the same time. Nico walked forward until he stopped in front of Alex.
"I sense it." He said. "You're dead."
Annabeth's POV:
Everyone froze, even Hearth. Alex was silent for a second. "And how did you come to that conclusion, Negative Nancy?" Alex asked, but I saw the hidden panic and confusion in her two-toned gaze. I glanced at the other's expressions. Blitzen and Hearth were frozen in shock. I could see the clear shock and panic in Hearth's reflective gaze. But I glimpsed his feeling of self-loathing. I shook my head and continued on. I couldn't think about that right now.
They all basically showed the same expression of shock and confusion. Nico only scoffed at Alex's question. "Please. A son of Hades can always tell who is alive and dead." He said. We froze.
I sucked in a breath and tried to relax. "Guys, there's no point in hiding who and what we really are. Would've been impossible since we found my cousin and with the prophecy on our heads." I said. "Besides. If my cousin has made friends with elves, dwarves, and someone who's apparently dead, then his brain probably won't go haywire when we tell him we're not exactly human." I continued, shrugging slightly.
Magnus narrowed his eyes. "Then what are you?" He asked. "We're demigods. Half god, half mortal." Piper explained. Magnus relaxed. "Really? Seems I'm not the only one." He said. "Of course you aren't. Sam and I do exist." Alex snapped.
"So who are your godly parents?" Sam asked. I stepped forward. "My mother is Athena, Greek godess of wisdom and craft." I said. Percy went next. "My dad's Posidan, Greek god of the sea and earthquakes." He said. Then Piper. "My mother is Aphrodite, Greek godess of love and beauty." She said. Then Jason. "My dad is Zeus, Greek god of the sky and lightning." He said. Then Leo. "My dad's Hephaestus, Greek god of blacksmiths and volcanoes." He said. Then Hazel. "My father is Pluto, Roman god of the dead and jems." She said. Then Frank. "My dad is Mars, Roman god of war and strength." He said. Then Nico and Will. "My dad is Hades, Greek god of the dead and the underworld." Nico said. Will was the last to step forward. "My dad is Apollo, Greek god of the sun and health." He said.
I looked up. "We've told you ours. What about you?" I asked Magnus. "Very well. My dad is Frey, Asgardian god of summer and (neon yellow boats) nature." My cousin said. Alex stepped forward. "I'm not gonna be dramatic. My dad's Loki, god of pranking and bad guys or whatever. He's Sam's dad too. There, done." She said simply.
"Then I'm the son of Freya, Asgardian godess of love and cats." Blitzen exclaimed. "And Hearth?" I asked. Blitzen's expression darkened. "His parents weren't good people. Best not to talk about it." He said. But for some reason, Hearth didn't look sad. In fact, he was... smirking?
The next thing I knew, Hearth wasn't Hearth anymore. "LOOK AWAY!" I shouted. Everyone did as they were told. Hearth had become Medusa. "What's happening?" Leo asked.
"Hearth turned into Medusa." I explained, eyes shut and silently praying the others had their eyes closed. "Oh, okay. Wait, WHAT?!" Magnus yelped. We heard Medusa's snake hair hissing. "Guys, don't open your eyes at any cost, unless you feel like being turned into a statue." I said. "Oh, but why dear? Opening your eyes would be so much more fun." Meduse said.
"We're not playing your game, Medusa. Where is Hearth?" Percy growled. Medusa only giggled. "Why, he's where he belongs! With his family!" She said with glee. Blitzen growled in a voice so deep I almost mistook him for a dog. I silently took out my dagger and hid it.
"Hey Medusa, what do you get when you add yourself and a dagger?" I asked. "Me with a dagger?" She guessed. I threw my dagger in the direction of her voice. There was a thud. I opened one eye. I had hit my target. "Afraid not. It was actually a pile of dust. Good try, though." I said. She turned to dust.
The others opened their eyes. "Wow. Good job, Annabanana." Magnus said. "We agreed to stop calling me that years ago." I said, crossing my arms. "Anyway, if that Hearth was actually Medusa, then where's the real Hearthstone?" Blitzen asked. I looked around and saw Hearth, the real Hearth, running away from a dragon that was chasing him. I noticed it had a gold ring on it's toe.
The dragon roared and leaned out it's neck, slamming it's head against Hearth's body. He flew against a wall, and I could hear the cracking of at least five of his bones breaking. He slid down the hard brick wall and tried to get up, but he could barely lift his head. The dragon's shadow fell on him.
Leo's eyes were filled with anger. He summoned fire balls in either hand. "I barely know the guy, but I feel like saving him. Anyone else?" He asked. "Yeah. We can't let Alderman kill him!" Blitzen said, looking very petrified. Magnus looked shocked. "That's what his father turned into?" He asked. "Yep. Now, any of you have water? I can't move, and I really feel like stopping Alderman from killing Hearth." Blitzen said.
Percy obliged and shot a wave of water at Blitzen. He fell down then stood up again. "Ok guys I have a plan. Magnus and his friends help Hearthstone, while my friends and I fight the dragon." Percy said. Everyone nodded to the plan.
And without another word, we drew our weapons and ran towards them.
Leo's POV:
We ran towards them. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Nico slip into a shadow and teleport in front of Hearth. I ran as fast as I could and skidded to a halt beside Nico. "Sorry, dude, but you're not hurting anyone." I growled, summoning my flames and shooting them at the dragon. It recoiled, it's scales becoming burnt. Jason flew into the air and landed on the dragon's back, stabbing his blade between it's scales.
But we didn't do any damage. The burns healed immediately, and Jason's hits were easily deflected. "It's a ring dragon! The only way to kill it is to stab it's heart, which sprays acid afterwards!" Blitzen yelled. "How fun." I muttered.
Blitzen's POV:
When I heard the cracking of Hearth's bones as he was thrown against a brick wall, I wanted to scream. I wanted to kill that stupid dragon with my bare hands. The next thing I knew, we were all running to defend and help Hearth.
Leo, Jason, and Nico attacked the dragon. As I expected, their attacks were easily shunned. "It's a ring dragon! The only way to kill it is to stab it's heart, which sprays acid afterwards!" I shouted.
Leo grumbled something, but they led Alderman away from Hearth. I knelt beside him. He tried to once again get up, but he could barely lift his head. Magnus, Alex, and Sam soon joined us. Magnus put his hand on Hearth's shoulder, it glowing with golden magic as he healed Hearth.
Hearth was soon fine. As soon as he got up, I tackled him in a hug. He pattted my back and stood up. "Who are they and why are they fighting my father?" Hearth asked in sign. "The blonde girl is my cousin, Annabeth. The rest are her friends." Magnus explained. Hearth blinked. "Well, we might as well help them. Shall we?"

Sorry guys! I'm going to have to make this into two parts! I have fifteen one-shots to finish (though this is one of them), and I'm out of school sick the day I'm writing this, so I want to finish those before I begin another one-shot. If I get another idea, then I'll add it to my one-shot list. Never be Cruel and Never be Cowardly! See ya!
