chapter seven
Jennie
My heart was steady as I hopped out of my car, I had arrived at the entertainment building. With my plan nothing could go wrong, but then again. Not much in life is what it seems, that's what's exciting. I stepped into the first room, where I would sign in as present like you would at a school. Miss Young looked up at me, she looked surprised. "Ms Kim! Yang and the girls were worried about you and Ms Manoban. Speaking of Ms Manoban, where is she?" I shook my head, making sure to seem displeased. "Very sick, I was looking after her. She won't come in today." I grabbed a pen and jotted down my time of arrival in a booklet. I bowed to the lady.
"Ah, I understand. Good luck with Yang, he seemed uneasy." I nodded to her, I would've figured as much. I walked through the double doors leading to the studio I knew the girls would be in. "Jennie! Where have you been all my life?" Chaeyoung said, she ran to me and hugged me tight. "Surely you weren't too worried, right?" All Jisoo could do was laugh, but then she got serious. "Yang is wondering where you have been. Its best to tell him, I could ask him down here for you?" I nodded, even though I really wanted to avoid having to tell him. I hoped he would let it slide, as something personal.

"Ah, Kim Jennie. Care to explain?" I bowed to him, he was my 'superior' after all. "Lalisa is very sick, she may not come for a few days. I was looking after her early this morning, I didn't realise her clock was two hours behind. So I ended up being late, sorry Mr Yang." He furrowed his brow, but he gave out in the end. I was so relieved, my hands had even started sweating. "Don't let this happen again, tell her my best wishes. Why don't you girls swing by the store and grab her a new clock."
All us three girls shot each other looks of excitement, a field trip outside of this place? Shouldn't we work harder due to wasted time, why was Yang being so different? We were supposed to be preparing for a comeback. "Sure! Let's head off in ten girls." Jisoo ordered, I had no choice but to give in otherwise I'd be left out. We set off on different paths, I personally went to my dressing room to make sure I looked presentable for any paparazzi encounters we may have. Yang now had me thinking on what clock we should get, because it wasn't really going to be Lisa's in the end... It was actually mine with the risky malfunction. Something pastel would be fitting for my room, unlike the bland one I already owned.
I met back up with the girls out the front, we weren't going to drive our own cars around so we were driven in a limo with really tinted windows. You would think it was a good idea, until you realise BLACKPINK is printed in bright pink on both sides of the vehicle. Wasn't the point not to be noticed? Despite the Limo's silliness, I decided to message Lalisa.
Jennie:
How are you going?
Lisa:
Great, how did everything go with Yang and the girls?
Jennie:
Great, he believed it and the girls probably have an idea but they haven't questioned it.
Lisa:
So, what are you up to now. Surely you messaged me with a reason.
Jennie:
Mhm, we are out shopping to replace your broken clock. 😂
Lisa:
Mine huh. 😅
Jennie:
It'd be weird if I said I was looking after you whilst you were sick at my dorm.
Lisa:
True, I'll let you be. Don't get caught texting me. 😘
