3 - REINDEER GAMES
It's been hours since they arrived on the helicarrier and taken flight. Hours since they began searching for Loki across the globe. Hours upon hours of nothing but absolute boredom for Everett Hargreeves and his twin sister, as the two of them couldn't do anything but sit around and wait for something ━ anything at all ━ to happen.
“If I'd known this mission would be so dreadfully boring, I wouldn't have suggested we go through with it,” Estelle complained for what felt like the hundredth time since the search for Loki began.
“Tell me about it,” Everett agreed, stifling a yawn, which inevitably caused his sister to yawn as well, although she didn't bother hiding it like he did.
She stretched out her limbs and crossed her feet beneath the table they were sitting at, which was located some ways from the bridge that Nick Fury and Phil Coulson still occupied. “How much longer do you think this is going to take?”
Everett sighed, shrugging his shoulders. “Who knows at this point.”
His response only made Estelle more annoyed by the long wait. “The least they could have done is given us some food, I'm starving over here,” her complaints continued. “Or, I don't know, some coffee? I'd kill any one of these people for a Starbucks right now.”
Everett breathed out an airy laugh. “I don't doubt it. Just try to remain a little more patient, Stell, I'm sure it won't take much longer… I hope.” He muttered the last under his breath, though his sister obviously heard him judging by the look she'd given him.
A few minutes later, to their relief, they noticed one of the agents urgently waving someone over as they pointed at one of the monitor screens. The agent was sharing information with the man, and judging by their body language alone, it was obviously important. Everett and Estelle shared a curious look with each other, wondering what it was they found.
Please, God, tell me they found Loki, Estelle thought pleadingly, her words echoing within her brother's mind.
The agent who'd been waved over then turned to look at Coulson, who was standing and speaking with Steve Rogers. “We got a match,” he informed them.
“Oh, thank God!” Estelle groaned.
“Sixty-seven percent match,” the agent continued. “Wait, cross match, seventy-nine percent.”
“Location?” Coulson asked.
“Stuttgart, Germany,” the agent replied. “28, Konigstrasse. He's not exactly hiding.”
Director Fury nodded, before turning to look at Steve. “Captain, you're up,” he told him. Then, he glanced at the Hagreeves twins sitting at the table some ways behind him. “Mr. Hargeeves, you'll be going, too.”
Everett immediately stood to his feet. “Uh, yes, sir.”
His sister stood, hands on her hips as she stared gapingly across the room at Fury. “Excuse me, but I think you mean Mr. and Miss Hargreeves?”
Fury raised a brow at the woman. “Correct me if I'm wrong, Miss Hargreeves, but your powers aren't exactly… battle quality.”
“I might not have powers like my brother does, but I can assure you, I know how to handle myself on a mission,” Estelle persisted, her arms now crossed. “I've always gone on missions with my siblings, and that isn't about to change now. Besides, Everett and I work better together than we do apart, and if you want to succeed in capturing Loki then I suggest you look the other way, because I'm going whether you like it or not.”
Everett's eyes widened at her words. He glanced between them, watching as his sister and Fury stared each other down as if their lives depended on it. His sister, of course, completely unphased as she began tapping her foot on the ground, as if challenging Fury to say no to her.
Before either of them had the chance to speak, Everett awkwardly cleared his throat and stepped forward. “What my sister means is, well, uh…”
Fury held up his hand, silencing Everett. “I know what she means. She can go.” He turned and walked away without another word, but Everett swore he heard the man mumble something under his breath that vaguely sounded like, better she goes than stay here where I can throw her overboard.
“You two better get going,” Coulson said.
Everett nodded and pulled his sister toward the door where, much to their surprise, Captain America was standing watching them. He seemed to be both amused and impressed by Estelle's behaviour.
Steve raised a brow at her. “I'm impressed you got Fury to do what you wanted. He didn't strike me as someone who likes to take orders from anyone.”
Did you hear that, brother, Captain America says I'm impressive!
Everett rolled his eyes at her thoughts.
“The only person better at getting what they want is our sister, Allison, but she's got an unfair advantage,” Estelle replied.
“Unfair advantage?” Steve asked in confusion.
She smirked. “Just a rumor…”
“Please stop talking,” Everett said.
“You two ready to suit up?” Steve asked them, his words causing a massive grin to spread across Estelle's face.
Everett knew his sister was living one of her wildest dreams right now. Her voice suddenly echoed within his mind, loud and incoherent as her thoughts came and went way too fast for him to even comprehend them. But he didn't really need to hear them anyway, he knew exactly what she was thinking. It didn't take a genius to know she was excited to be working with her childhood crush.
“We don't wear suits,” Everett replied.
“Not since we were kids, anyway,” Estelle added.
“But I take your meaning.” Everett finished.
Estelle excitedly clapped her hands and started off down the hall. “Let's go!”
Both men watched as she practically ran down the hallway, and Everett sighed, shaking his head as they followed after her.
“She's…” Steve trailed off.
“Yeah, I know,” Everett said. “She's just excited to be going on a mission with Captain America. Don't worry, she won't be like this the whole time. You'll get used to it.”
I hope, he thought.
“Are you both coming or what?” Estelle shouted after them from where she was standing at the end of the hallway, looking back at them impatiently. “Enough chatting, we've got a god to catch!”
Would you calm down? Everett thought to her, and she gave him a look.
How am I supposed to stay calm when I'm about to go on a mission with Captain America!
Estelle━
Shut up and just let me have this!
When they reached Estelle, they continued their journey down various hallways until eventually crossing paths with Natasha Romanoff, who told Steve where to find his uniform before guiding the Hargreeves twins to the quinjet they'd be taking with them for the mission.
Everett and Estelle walked up the ramp of the quinjet and took their seats, sitting shoulder to shoulder like they tend to do, and waiting patiently for the mission to begin. Natasha and another agent were sitting up front, pressing various buttons as they prepared the quinjet for take-off.
Eventually, Captain America joined them, suited up and ready to go, shield and all. And Everett, well, he really wished at that moment he was never born because the disturbing thoughts his sister was thinking were enough to make his stomach churn.
When Everett finally turned to look at his sister, he noticed that she was practically drooling at the sight of Captain America in his patriotic suit.
“Please, stop,” Everett pleaded with her.
“Never,” Estelle said, her eyes trailing the patriotic man up and down. “Vintage really never looked so good.”
“Jesus christ,” Everett muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose as he looked down.
“Everyone buckled in?” Natasha asked, glancing over her shoulder at them over the low hum of the engine starting.
They acknowledged the woman with a chorus of yeah's, causing her to turn back around and press a few more buttons on the console. There was some slight turbulence a moment later as they took off, and then it was smooth sailing from there on out.
After a while, Steve must have sensed he was being stared at and looked across at Estelle, who didn't even bother looking away. It was obvious she didn't care that she'd been caught admiring him. In fact, she smiled at him, and Everett could have sworn Captain America looked a little flustered from the attention he was receiving from Estelle.
“Fury and Coulson never mentioned what you both can do,” Steve began. “If we're going to fight alongside each other, it's better we get an understanding of what we're each capable of in the field.”
“Estelle doesn't fight,” Everett corrected. “Her powers aren't like mine. But her powers are essential in a fight, just not in a way you might expect.”
“My main power is astral projection,” Estelle explained.
“Astral projection?” Steve asked, confused.
“Basically, I leave my physical body and can walk in astral form,” Estelle eagerly elaborated. “I can't fight in that form, unfortunately. I've never been able to touch anyone, I just go right through them. Well, that's a lie. The only person I've ever been able to physically touch while in my astral form was Everett. We don't know why, maybe it's because we're twins, but who knows.”
Estelle shrugged, took a breath, then continued. “I can also read people. Their aura, energy, memories, thoughts, emotions, you name it. But I can only do that when I'm physically touching someone, I can't do it on command.” She then leaned forward, extending her hand out towards Steve. “I can read you, if you like?”
Her suggestive tone immediately had Everett reaching out and pulling her hand away from Steve. “Yeah, no, you're absolutely not doing that.”
Estelle pouted. “You're no fun.”
“And you're annoying,” he retaliated.
She immaturely stuck her tongue out at her brother before turning to look at Steve again. “Anyway, where was I? Oh, right, reading people. I have to be touching someone to read them. Well, aside from Everett, of course. But maybe that's just a twin thing. Our dad never really figured out our connection with each other, or if he ever did, he never mentioned anything to us. We've been pretty much in the dark about why our powers work differently with each other than they do on others.”
“That's a power we share,” Everett said. “Our powers work so differently around each other than with other people, that we can actually give each other a… power boost, of sorts.”
“You make each other stronger,” Steve said with a nod.
He seemed fascinated, like he wanted to know more about how much stronger they were capable of making each other, though Steve didn't ask anything in that regard. Instead, he asked Estelle more about her powers.
“You mentioned you went on missions with your siblings,” Steve began. “What did you do to help them if you couldn't fight alongside them?”
“Well, for starters, I would send Everett some of my energy to strengthen his powers,” Estelle explained. “And Everett would send some of his energy back to me, this way, with his powers combined with my own, I could establish a mental link between all of us so we could communicate with each other non-verbally. It really helped with the secret missions. I know it doesn't seem like much, but━”
“I don't think that at all,” Steve quickly interrupted her. “What you're capable of doing is incredible. You shouldn't think you're any less of a hero than your brother or your siblings just because you couldn't physically help them in a fight.”
“Thank you,” Estelle smiled, her cheeks dusted with a faint blush.
Steve returned her smile, before looking at Everett. “What can you do?”
“Our powers are… somewhat the same, in a sense,” Everett began. “While I'm not capable of leaving my body in astral form like my sister, I can almost absorb astral energy to create weapons.”
“Weapons?”
“Swords, daggers, whatever comes to mind, I can make it,” Everett elaborated. “I can also use astral energy to create armor to protect myself. But I can't protect anyone else with my armor, not even Estelle, we've tried that many times growing up but I just can't expand it beyond my own body.” His expression turned grim, eyes gleaming with guilt. “I couldn't even save our brother, Ben, with my armor.”
“Don't,” Estelle said sternly, shaking her head and reaching for his hand. “You know that wasn't your fault. What happened to Ben was an accident. There was nothing any of us could do.”
Everett squeezed her hand back. No matter how many times Estelle reassured him of that, he'd always feel guilty for not being strong enough to save their brother. Ben was the best of them, he always would be, and he didn't deserve to die.
“I'm sorry for your loss,” Steve said sincerely, causing them to look at him.
“Thank you,” they said in unison, the quinjet growing quiet as the Hargreeves twins silently comforted each other over the loss of their brother, which continued to pain them to this very day.

When they arrived in Germany, Natasha Romanoff maneuvered the quinjet into an alley and lowered the ramp to allow both Everett and Steve to be dropped off about a block away from the area that Loki had been located in. The red-haired woman figured a surprise attack would be better than charging the god head on, and none of them disagreed with her tactics.
“Don't do anything stupid out there,” Estelle sternly told her brother.
“I'll be fine, Stell,” Everett reassured her.
“You always say that, but remember that one time when our mother had to give you stitches because you━”
“That wasn't even my fault, it was Diego's knife, and it barely even hit me!”
“Yet you had to get stitches.”
“I won't do anything stupid,” he lamely promised.
She scoffed. “So reassuring.”
With a roll of his eyes, Everett followed Steve down the ramp into the alley and took a step back, watching as Natasha took off again. Even though Everett knew his sister was going to be fine, that she was going to be perfectly safe up there, he still worriedly watched as the quinjet disappeared in cloaking mode with his sister.
Steve turned and gave him a silent nod, and then the two of them were off.
They ran down the dark streets, heading in the direction they'd been given by Agent Romanoff. Everett found it incredibly hard to keep up with Steve the entire time, the man was extraordinarily fast and in impeccable shape compared to him.
Damn super serum.
By the time they got close enough to see the crowd of people dressed in fancy clothes that Loki was towering over, Steve had completely left him behind, thus forcing Everett to push himself even harder so he could catch up to him.
But Everett couldn't be too upset for being left behind. Steve did manage to save an elderly man from being hit with a blast from the glowing blue scepter Loki was carrying, after all. Had Steve not run ahead of him, the elderly man would have been severely injured or worse.
Everett arrived simultaneously with the quinjet, and as he caught his breath, slightly winded from the long run, he looked up at the quinjet and watched as machine guns emerged from the bottom of the aircraft and were immediately trained on Loki.
“Loki, drop the weapon and stand down,” Natasha ordered over a set of speakers.
Loki smirked and aimed the scepter at the quinjet, releasing a blast of blue energy. Everett's heart leapt into his throat and his eyes widened. He was terrified for his sister. But fortunately, Natasha was able to maneuver the quinjet out of the way in time, causing him to sigh in relief.
Estelle's fine. She's safe, he told himself, trying to calm himself down. But still, he could feel her panicking and that only made him worry more. So, he tried a breathing technique to calm his heart rate, the same one Estelle had taught him when they were kids. Focus on the mission. Capture this fucking god.
When Everett finally composed himself, he looked away from the quinjet and found Steve and Loki engaged in battle. Everett was about to step forward to help but found himself completely in awe of the quick movements and skill Steve was displaying.
It then finally hit him that he was fighting alongside Captain America, and he couldn't fucking believe it.
Oh, if only their siblings could see him now, they'd be green with envy. Diego had never admitted it, but Everett always knew his brother thought Captain America was cool as hell. And on more than one occasion ━ and especially after their siblings found out about Estelle's obsession ━ Everett knew Klaus had tried communicating with Captain America, you know, when the whole world believed Steve Rogers was dead. But here he was, fighting alongside━
Are you just going to stand there or are you going to fight?! Estelle's voice echoed within his mind, breaking him from his thoughts.
Everett momentarily glared up at the quinjet before turning his attention back on Steve and Loki. He watched as Steve was flung to the ground by the god. He then threw his shield, only for it to be deflected. Loki raised his scepter, but before he could do anything, Everett's instincts kicked in and he went running towards them.
Everett focused all his power into manifesting an astral sword, which he quickly swung at the god. However, Loki managed to evade in time, although barely, causing the god to stumble a little bit when he moved away. He manifested a second sword, then charged again, the shimmering white astral blades slicing through the air, only to be blocked when Loki lifted the scepter and used all his godly strength to push against Everett, causing the Hargreeves to stumble backwards.
He regained his bearings, gritting his teeth and twirling his swords. Everett could suddenly feel Estelle's presence with him, as if she was standing right beside him, holding his hand, and he knew right away his sister was lending him some of her strength to boost his powers. He smirked at the god as he felt the energy surge through him, strengthening his powers, and he took a step forward to attack again. Loki then smirked back and raised the specter.
Everett's eyes widened, and he just barely managed to manifest his astral armor before the blast hit him square in the chest. Although his armor protected him from any serious damage, Everett still felt as though the wind had been knocked out of him as he was sent flying backwards.
Everett! He could hear his sister's shrill cry in his head.
He landed on the ground some ways away, releasing a groan. Everett grimaced as he sat up, holding his ribs. It felt as though they'd been broken, yet he knew they weren't. That blast was powerful, though, he'd give Loki that. If he hadn't been able to manifest his armor in time, Everett knew he would definitely have broken something.
Everett, are you okay?!
I'm fine, Everett telepathically communicated with her. Don't worry about me.
“Kneel,” Loki said, capturing Everett's attention.
Everett looked up, watching as Loki towered over Steve, the scepter pointed at the back of the man's head. But before Loki could do anything, Steve reacted quickly to the situation he'd found himself in.
“Not today!” Steve shouted, flipping around and knocking Loki down with his leg.
“Are you going to shoot him or not?” Estelle said through the comms device they'd all been given, obviously speaking to Natasha.
Natasha quickly responded, “This guy's all over the place.”
Suddenly, out of nowhere, the song Shoot to Thrill by AC/DC began playing over the speakers on the quinjet, causing Everett, who was pulling himself off the ground with a grimace, to look up in confusion. Why the hell was Agent Romanoff playing music at a time like this?
“Oh, I love this song!” Estelle exclaimed.
“Agent Romanoff, did you miss me?” A voice said over their comms devices, making Everett realize that perhaps she wasn't responsible for the music.
Everett furrowed his brows, not recognizing the voice right away. Although, it did sound slightly familiar. Where did he hear that voice before?
It wasn't until Iron Man suddenly appeared that Everett finally realized he did recognize the voice. He'd seen Tony Stark on the television so many times he simply lost count. He should have known it was him the moment he heard him.
Iron Man blasted Loki away from Steve and then landed on the ground in front of the god, pulling out every piece of weaponry his iron suit was capable of making. “Make your move, Reindeer Games.”
Loki's armor dematerialized as he lifted his hands, surrendering to them.
“Good move,” said Iron Man.
“Mr. Stark,” Steve greeted, finally acknowledging the man.
“Captain,” Iron Man acknowledged back.
❊ ❊ ❊
They returned to the quinjet with Loki after successfully apprehending him. Steve and Tony made sure that the god was secured on board before Natasha and the agent sitting up front with her began preparing the quinjet for take-off once again.
When they were finally in the air and on their way back to the helicarrier, Everett sat down opposite of Loki but closer to the small cockpit and leaned back against the inner wall of the aircraft, briefly closing his eyes. Although the pain had mostly gone away by now, there was still a dull ache in his lungs every time he breathed in.
It wasn't long before Estelle made her way over to him, a concerned look on her face as she sat down beside him. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” Everett replied, opening his eyes and looking at her.
“You don't seem fine,” Estelle frowned. “I can feel your pain, remember?”
“It'll pass, it always does,” Everett reassured, taking her hand and squeezing. “My armor took most of the damage, anyway, so you've got nothing to worry about.”
“That doesn't make me worry any less, you know,” Estelle said, sitting back and laying her head on his shoulder, their hands still clasped together in her lap.
“I know,” Everett smiled, leaning his head against hers.
Eventually, the night skies began to turn angry. Rumbles of thunder could be heard, violent and loud, and there were sparks of lightning that the Hagreeves twin could see from one of the windows in the quinjet.
They knew it wasn't supposed to storm, the agent sitting up front with Agent Romanoff had ensured them they wouldn't be encountering any inclement weather on the way back once they had initially begun their journey back to the helicarrier. So why were they encountering this storm and, more importantly, where the hell did it even come from so suddenly?
Everett's nerves were practically on fire as the storm seemed to only get worse as time went on, his gut instincts alarming him that something was definitely wrong.
“I don't like this,” he whispered for only his sister to hear.
Immediately sensing his uneasiness, Estelle lifted her head from his shoulder to look at him. “What's wrong?”
“This storm,” he told her, “there's just something about it...”
Her brows furrowed. “What do you mean?”
Before he could say another word, Captain America, who was standing with Tony Stark as the pair watched Loki from a distance, whispered, “I don't like it.”
“What?” Tony asked. “Rock of Ages giving up so easily?”
“I don't remember it being that easy,” Steve said. “The guy packs a wallop.”
Wallop? Estelle mouthed, turning to face her brother.
He's like a hundred years old, Stell, Everett spoke telepathically to her.
Hottest hundred year old ever.
Everett grimaced. Stop being gross.
“Still, you are pretty spry for an older fellow. What's your thing, Pilates?” Tony's voice was laced with sarcasm, something which Steve really didn't seem to appreciate right now.
“What?” Steve asked, confused.
“It's like calisthenics,” Tony explained. “You might have missed a couple of things doing time as a Capsicle.”
Estelle snorted at the nickname, earning a nudge from her brother, and she quickly covered it with a cough when Steve glanced her way.
Steve looked back at Tony after a moment. “Fury didn't tell me he was calling you in.”
“Yeah, there's a lot of things Fury doesn't tell you.”
Everett glanced at his sister. You think Fury's withholding information from us?
He better not be. But if he is, I'll get it out of him.
He didn't doubt that. The smile on her face told him she was being serious. That she really would get it out of him, one way or anything, and wouldn't stop until she found out what Fury was keeping from them all.
Suddenly, there was a harsh clap of thunder and a bright flash of lightning, which nearly hit the quinjet, causing the aircraft to violently shake. Everett reacted immediately and reached out to grab his sister, holding her tight so she wouldn't fall out of her seat and get hurt.
“Where's this coming from?” Natasha said to no one in particular, peering up at the angry skies through the front window.
More thunder. Bright flashes. The twins noticed Loki shift in his seat to intently look out the window on the ceiling of the quinjet. His expression was both troubled and worried. Almost like he knew what had caused this storm.
“What's the matter? Are you scared of a little lightning?” Steve asked.
“I'm not overly fond of what follows,” Loki replied ominously.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Estelle asked, and the god only looked at her with a grim expression before turning to look out the window again.
“I told you that I had a bad feeling about this,” Everett whispered to her, his nerves flaring up again. He held onto his sister even tighter, the feeling that something bad was about to happen becoming even stronger with each passing second.
There was a loud noise against the roof, as if something had hit them or landed up there, and the entire quinjet shook upon impact. The lightning seemed to get even brighter and more frequent, and the thunder was so loud that it didn't even seem natural at all. Everett and Estelle exchanged worried looks with each other.
As if he could sense something terrible as well, Tony quickly moved to grab his helmet, putting it on over his face. The eye slits on his helmet immediately lit up, indicating it synchronized with the rest of the suit. He then pressed a button along the wall, opening up the rear hatch.
Everett reached out and grabbed his sister's seatbelt, quickly fastening it around her body as harsh winds filtered into the aircraft with the ramp now completely lowered. He would be damned if Estelle went flying out the back of the quinjet and plummeted to her death because of Tony Stark.
“What are you doing?” Steve asked.
Before Tony could even respond, a man with blond hair and a long, billowing red cape then swiftly landed within the confines of the aircraft. Everett noticed the stranger's weapon almost immediately ━ a silver hammer that looked oddly familiar to him. Where had he seen that before?
Tony held out his open palm, preparing to blast the stranger. But the blond man rose from his crouched position and stalked towards Tony. With a swift swing of his hammer, Iron Man was sent flying backwards and harshly collided with Steve, the two men falling to the ground.
Everett instinctively stood to his feet as the blond man then turned to look at him and Estelle. He quickly manifested his astral armor and stood in front of his sister, who was still buckled into her seat, intent on protecting her from any harm.
However, the vaguely familiar man didn't make a move to attack either of them. He strode right up to Loki, grabbed the raven-haired god around his pale throat and flew out the back of the quinjet with him.
“And now there's that guy,” Tony groaned as he stood to his feet.
“Another Asgardian?” Natashed asked.
Asgardian, Everett thought, so that's what they're called.
“How are we supposed to fight that guy for Loki?” Estelle stressed.
“Thor,” Everett corrected.
“What?” Steve said, looking at him in confusion.
“I'm pretty sure that guy was Thor,” Everett elaborated. “I remember seeing him on the news after what happened in New Mexico. At least, I think it was him.”
Estelle nodded along with what her brother was saying. “No, you're right. He did look a lot like Thor.”
“Great, so he is another Asgardian,” Natasha sighed.
“I thought Thor was supposed to be a good person, why the hell is he attacking us?” Estelle said worriedly.
“That guy's a friendly?” Steve asked in disbelief.
“Doesn't matter,” Tony replied as he walked towards the end of the ramp. He was fully prepared to chase the gods down and reclaim their prisoner. “If he frees Loki or kills him, the Tesseract's lost.”
“Stark, we need a plan of attack!” Steve shouted after him before the iron suited man could jump.
“I have a plan. Attack,” Tony said, before leaping out the back of the quinjet.
Steve exhaled a frustrated sigh. Clearly, he was a man who preferred a well-thought-out plan. They watched as he walked over to the cargo along the wall and grabbed a parachute, beginning to put it on.
“I'd sit this one out, Cap,” Natasha warned.
“I don't see how I can.”
“These guys come from legend, they're basically gods,” Natasha tried again.
“I wouldn't say basically, they are gods,” Estelle said under her breath, loud enough for only her brother to hear. “But whatever.”
“There's only one God, ma'am,” Steve said, fastening his shield to his wrist. “And I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that.” He glanced at the twins as he took a step towards the broken ramp. “Better you two stay here with Agent Romanoff.”
Captain America then leapt out the back of the aircraft and the Hagreeves twins were left dumbfounded at what just happened.
“Well, that was…” Everett trailed off.
“Incredibly attractive,” Estelle finished for him, a smirk on her face.
“Do you ever know when to stop?” Everett complained, turning to look at her as she stared at the place Steve Rogers had just been with a certain gleam in her eyes.
“Oh, please, like you don't think he's hot,” Estelle said with a roll of her eyes.
Everett grimaced. “Jesus, no. Never.”
“You sure about that?” Estelle said teasingly, raising a brow at him. “Because you seemed pretty starstruck during the fight earlier. I mean, you were just standing there admiring him the whole time. Not that I can blame you, that suit really does wonders to his━”
“I was admiring his fighting skills,” Everett quickly interrupted, not only to correct her, but because he really didn't want to hear the end of that sentence, “not his suit and body, you perv.”
“Uh, huh,” Estelle smirked.
“You're unbelievable,” Everett said, shaking his head as he sat down.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
a/n: Writing out Everett's first battle scene was actually really fun for me. I know he wasn't involved much, you know, because he was so starstruck by Steve's fighting skills and being taking out by Loki fairly quickly (it's his first time fighting a god, though, so let's not be too hard on Everett lol) but his powers are really fun to explain!
Also, so many cute Estelle and Steve moments in this chapter! Her continously saying vintage never looked so good, Steve telling her she shouldn't feel any less of a hero compared to their siblings. Every moment between them is just so cute, I adore them. Makes me so excited for Everett and Wanda!
