Rico gets up.

"I'm sorry (Y/N)." He says sadly.

He had put up a wall, something he learned to do a few years ago. (Y/N) never noticed because she never knew he was there in the first place. The most she probably felt was a little separation from her quirk for a while. He needed a little space right now, but he could feel (Y/N) pushing on the wall, trying to break through it.

He had decided that when he gets back, he would leave his human form and just be (Y/N)'s quirk for the rest of his life. He couldn't take the added stress of his own emotions as well as (Y/N)'s, and he was sure it had to be a lot for her as well.

(Y/N) and Shinso had been walking for about two hours now and were both starting to get tired. (Y/N) still hadn't recovered from all the energy being drained from her, so she was really struggling to keep up. Shinso had suggested that they go back home, but she wouldn't stop. She felt responsible for how Rico felt.

Suddenly, there he was, in the middle of the now empty street.

"Rico!" (Y/N) yelled out, running towards him, Shinos following close behind. He had looked both ways down the road. This was how it all started, was it not? A road, with the careless girl walking out into it blindly. He didn't want a repeat of the other day. What had only been a day or two felt like an eternity.

"Hi (Y/N)." Rico mumbles. "S-sorry for making you come out here and look for me."

"It's fine, it's fine." She says, but her dark circles say otherwise, and Rico notices. This only solidifies his idea that he brings misfortune upon the poor girl.

"So-" (Y/N) starts, but is cut off by Rico stepping towards her.

Shinos braces himself for the worst, this kid seems a bit mentally unstable at the moment.

"I'm so sorry, I hope you don't hate me more after this..." Rico says to her, and Shinos tenses up even more.

"What?" He says.

Rico closes his eyes, and he starts to glow like he did when he took energy from (Y/N), but this time, he starts to fade away.

"Wait- no Rico don't do this!" (Y/N) cries out.

But his mind was already made up. He dissipated into thin glowing dust, that zipped towards (Y/N), who tried to dodge it, in a last attempt to stop Rico.

But she couldn't stop the inevitable, and Rico became one with her again.

She sank to her knees and sobbed.

"What just happened?! Are you ok?" Shinso exclaimed, but (Y/N) just cried.

"He's part of me now. He- he gave up his human form- to be my quirk again!" She cries out.

"Can he even do that?" Shinso asks in disbelief.

"he chose to have a human form, so he can take it away again if wants." She says, wiping tears away from her now red cheeks.

Silence enveloped the now dark street. Is this the end for Rico? Was he just a quirk's attempt to connect with the human world, or was he really a person? He looked and, sort of acted human.

The pair sat on the street, waiting for something to happen, both knowing full well it wasn't going to change anything.

Just a little note, this whole thing is where I would start a Rico x reader if I end up writing it if you all are interested. This scene is probably where that book would start, and I would change it so Rico changed his mind. Just a note ;)

After weakly walking back to Shinso's house, they sat down and turned the TV on. If anything was going distract them from the weight that was just thrown on them, what was about to appear on the nightly news would.

The news showed what had happened at UA that day, and what dangers that (Y/N) had avoided. But it also confirmed their suspicions, that a villain had tipped the girl off, for whatever reason.

What could this mean? Did they not want her to get hurt or did they want her friends to get hurt? Did they want to show her they were watching? What could this mean for her and Shinso?
