C1: Silence is Music

Mondays aren't actually the days he wanted. He yawned, at the thought of Monday as the first day in the school week. Why is it so important for them monsters to go to a human school, when humans aren't actually doing the same thing? He adjusted his bony hands across his chin for enhancing comfort.

"SANS! WAKE UP! YOU SHOULDN'T BE SLEEPING AROUND SCHOOL!" exclaimed a loud voice from the other side of the hallway.

"How did he see me?" chuckled Sans, as a taller skeleton walked up to him "Aww... Come on, Pap? Can't you let your own brother nap a little while? I'm just a bit... Bone-tired."

"NO! I CANNOT LET YOU! NOW GET YOUR BONES OUT OF HERE!" ordered Papyrus, ushering him to go.

"Which one? My... Lazy bones?" chuckled Sans once more.

"SANS!" screamed Papyrus in annoyance.

"Looks like someone's funny bone's broken." smirked Sans, but stopped when he noticed Papyrus starting to sob, so he went on his way to class.

Papyrus never liked his brother's pun, nor does Sans liked his. A lot of things changed after that kid, Chara freed the monsters from the Underground. She and her brother Asriel both went to school here. And not surprisingly, Chara is the most popular student in school, but something about her isn't right. Only Sans thought about this stuff, right after noticing how Chara gets annoyed at monsters at times.

He didn't have much friends, just Papyrus. But sometimes he hangs out with the Dreemurr siblings themselves. Having not much friends at all, didn't bother him, but Papyrus urged him to do so. Not much students just like his secret passion: music.

Every sound was music to his nonexistent ears. He liked the loud, crashing sound of noise, but he wanted the invisibility of the mysterious soft melody of silence better. Well he tried to be friends with Napstablook and Metatton, who are both music-lovers, but they are nothing compared to what kind of music Sans wanted. So he spends most of his time alone, listening to music.

Just like any other day, after class at nighttime, he goes out of his dorm, and sits behind a pillar, just right beside the entrance of this large hallway. The Snowdin Hall, was the nickname he gave for it, since it reminded him much about the forests of Snowdin, his hometown in the Underground. He played his favorite playlist on his phone, putted on his earphones, and tried to sleep through the music.

But something interrupted his snooze fest. He felt his silence was interrupted by a creaking of the door. He looked back, noticing a small girl, about his age, walk in. Her chocolate brown hair flowed through the air, as she turned her head left and right, observing the surroundings.

How did she get here, without the guards noticing her entrance? She must be a student here then. But she should not be wandering around school at an hour like this. So he stood up, and followed right behind her.

He looked at her from head to toe. Small, he smirked at the thought he's not the shortest student in class anymore. Her short hair was held back by a magenta headband, that gave a glint on her magenta and blue striped sweater. Behind her, she held a purple backpack, that contained her stuff, of course.

As he drew in closer, the skeleton accidentally stepped on what seems to be an unnoticeable crumpled up paper, which gave out a loud crunching sound. The sudden crunch startled the girl, and turned to face Sans.

Now they stared at each other, face to face. She looked just like Chara, he noticed that. But as if the girl figured out right away who she was looking at, her eyes that was close before, opened, revealing two shining honey-glazed golden orbs, as she smiled excitedly.

He smiled back, holding out his hand, "The name's Sans. Sans the skeleton." he smirked, still eyeing her closely, awaiting her reply. She too held out her hand for her to shake his, and gave out a silent giggle as the sound of fart came out of nowhere. "Heh. The ol' whoopee cushion in the hand trick. So, your name?"

He waited several seconds for her to reply, but instead of answering, she only stood there, smiling at him. He repeated his question, but still, no reply.

"Ok no jokes, seriously, what's your name?" he arched up one of his nonexistent eyebrows, still demanding an answer. Then suddenly, something very sudden happened. She was still smiling at him, but tears slowly rolled down her cheeks, as she mouthed a silent utter, that seem to read as "I'm sorry. But I do not know how to tell you that."

He was surprised by this. No sound came out of her lips as she spoke. "Can you not speak?" And she nodded in agreement.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Again, as she has memorized every step for the run for Pacifist. She was very careful of every move she takes. Careful not to harm any monster. But of course, she took this all to heart, her love so true towards these fascinating creatures.

But most importantly, she was very glad once she saw the tall monster that dreamed of being one with the royal guard. She made sure she gets to have a good time with them, not because she went here for some vacation, but because of something she feared was coming.

It was drawing near her, and she knew very well that once she sees the emergence of Flowey on becoming Asriel, all she did was going to be a waste of time. No one will remember her, that's for sure. She was just a child doing errands for her master to have the credit for all her hard work.

Collapsing to the ground after freeing the monsters, she thought of all the things they have done together. The memories she wanted to cherish.

"It's all yours now, Chara. My life is yours. Everything..." she whispered in her head, which she saw nothing but the dark void.

Something caught her attention after this. A cackling voice that belonged to some certain devil she knew before. But it wasn't directly from her. It sounded much like it came from her strangely clear memory. Why was her memory even crystal clear?

"Torturing while you are alive is way better..." she heard the eerie voice echo. No. This is not what she expected to believe. Now she knows why her memory was very clear. Chara made sure she gets all the torture down to its last bite.

Slowly, she opened her eyes to see herself in a nice and comfortable bedroom.

"Frisk? Are you awake?" said a very familiar voice in worry. As soon as she heard the voice, shivers instantly went down her spine. She looked to see a likely image of herself, except the tone of both her skin and hair is lighter, and she wore a green and yellow sweater. Her short hair was held back by a yellow-green headband decorated by a huge heart. Chara. She has a body now, that's new. But what's even more strange was that the tone of her voice was filled with worry.

'Chara?' she trembled, but as she tried to even mutter the name of her darkest fear and enemy, no sound came out of her soft pink lips.

"Frisk? Is something wrong?" asked the red-headed girl. She came closer to Frisk, but she on the other hand, backed away, still believed to be 'undaunted' of the girl's actions.

"Hey, hey. It's ok. I'm not gonna hurt you." she smiled at her sweetly, adding, "I'm Chara. Your sister."

Frisk was speechless. Chara, her, and...

"Hey, Chara! Is she awake?" a voice suddenly asked, its owner entering the room. Once again, silence was filled in her. The monster that just came in was none other than... Asriel. The goat kid wore the same sweater as Chara, and walked up to his now gagging sister, smiling warmly.

"Hello. I'm Asriel, your new brother." he greeted, "Welcome to the Dreemurr family, Frisk."

There is still no sound coming out from here, and its either because she's speechless, or the fact that she's now mute. She's mute. She's mute. She's...

She opened her mouth, trying to scream as loud as she can. But no matter how hard she tried to 'shatter' glass, air only made through her mouth, which made her look a bit funny, mouthing AH!

"I think she's scared." whispered Asriel, as Chara gave Frisk a confused look.

"Oh, I think we could talk more about this later. We're supposed to be in our dorm at school today, but we made an agreement with mom and dad to watch over you on weekends. It's Monday, and since you're awake, maybe you could..." but before Chara could finish talking, Frisk was out of bed, zooming towards the window.

She was very shocked at what she saw before her eyes. The busy streets, cars on roads, tall buildings... There's no doubt that this place is actually the surface! After the sight of everything around her, she plopped back to bed, tired of everything. This is just too much for her to bear.

"You could come with us to school. You're already enrolled there after all." Chara grinned, showing that glint in her eyes, which made Frisk a bit uneasy and filled with curiosity, "Dad is the headmaster of our school, and mom works as his representative and principal teacher."

But even after all that the Dreemurr siblings said, she still stood there. This is just too much. Everything is just too fast for her to take. So, refused to go with them, because of many certain reasons.

"Ok. But if you'd like to go, here." said Asriel, handing her out a pass, "Give this to the guard of our school so he'll recognize your right and authority. But, just be careful."

"We gotta go now, Azzy." ushered Chara, already out of the room.

"Bye, Frisk!"

SLAM! Silence...

Silence...

Silence...

Time passed by, and darkness soon filled the once blue sky. But Frisk was still in her room, thinking about everything. She doesn't understand what is going on.

Looking back at the pass that sat on the table, it seemed to echo an eerie voice at her, saying she should go. If she'll go... Answers will finally be found for her many questions. It could ease up any pain she held. So she'd made a decision.

She fixed herself up in front of the mirror, and held her hair with a magenta headband, which she found lying around somewhere. Her stuff, she silently mouthed. Glancing around, her golden orbs found a purple backpack that has a note attached to it.

It red: 'Your stuff for school! Good luck, my child! -Toriel-'

Frisk smiled warmly at the sight of her goat-mom's name engraved on paper. She took the bag, grabbed the pass, and went out for school.

She sighed at all the things she'd passed. What surprise might she encounter once she arrives? Will they like her? Will she fit in? Will she encounter her old friends? But most importantly, will they, remember her?

And now, she's here. She'd already passed the guards, and all she had to do was to turn the door knob of the door to her answers. She hesitated for a moment, but her curiosity and confusion demands to be satisfied, so nervously, she opened the door which gave out a creaking sound.

Inside was very silent. The eerie sound of being alone was the worst noise she'd ever heard. She hated it. The silence. If only someone could just break it. If only she could rip her ears from hearing the deafening silence of the surroundings.

Thank goodness, she heard a crunch of paper behind her. Instantly, she remembered how the same crunch sounded like the snap she heard in the forests of Snowdin. That was the time she met...

She turned to see a short skeleton she once knew, standing before her. The creature wore the same blue hoodie, and that eternal grinning teeth. She smiled at him widely. She missed him. Their times, she missed them so much. He too grinned at her, as their eyes met each other, his white to her golden ones.

He introduced himself to her, and asked for her name. Her name. Her name. Her name is Frisk. But...

Tears streamed down her face, as he once again, asked for her reply. She can't even whisper her name. And at this moment, her pain has only just begun.
