C11: A little
A/n: Make sure to ready these songs: “All of Me by John Legend” and “A Thousand Years by Christina Perri”. I’m gonna have to use my author powers to insert them here in this chapter. And yes, expect this book to have more of these singing scenes, but if you wanna skip these ‘cringey’ scenes, it’s fine by me. Don’t say I didn’t warn you if you suddenly jump out of the window and shout “They’re soo cute together, I wanna die!” Anyways, back to the story.

“Honey, come on, I don’t need anything! Just let me walk by myself.” he shrugged, but giving Frisk a reassuring smile. After the whole previous ‘incident’, things got a little wobbly for Sans. Even though Frisk was the one who blacked out earlier, she still looked fine, in one piece. Sans, on the other hand, seemed weak, wobbling as he walked beside the human, Frisk as his support.
‘Clearly, you don’t. Did you exert too much energy?’ her voice echoed in his mind, full of worry. The skeleton shrugged no in reply, causing Frisk to change the possible cause, ‘Was I the one that made you feel soo weak? Did panicking for me really did much things in your body?’ she frowned sadly, making him a bit uneasy, “No! You’re never the cause, Frisk! Don’t apologize to me when you didn’t even do anything. It’s just that, I’m tired and all.” he reassured her, smiling weakly.
The girl didn’t even return the smile, though and instead suggested for him to rest. ‘You didn’t get the chance to nap, did you? I noticed how early you came for me.’ she said softly.
“Yeah.” he replied, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. Did he really get to her early? Gosh, how could this girl be that smart? ‘Then I’ll have to take you back to your dorm room…’ she started, but was interrupted by the flailing of Sans’ ivory hands, exclaiming “No! I can do this by myself. Teleportation, see?” he objected, as a blue hue escaped from his cheekbones. ‘B-but…’ but before she could finish, he quickly snapped his two fingers and teleported to a dark room.
Take him there? Embarrassing! She’ll discover how his room looked as if a tornado passed by, considering there really was a tornado in his dorm room. He sighed, thinking about the offer. Such kindness.
Glancing back at the dark room, he moved his fingers through the smooth cold wall, and reached to flip the light switch on nearby. Instead of being in his dorm room, he was transported to a different one; the Music Club Chamber. Different instruments were found in that area. Guitars, bass, drums, violin, everything. And at the center of the brightly lit purple painted room, stood a majestic grand piano; his favorite instrument. Whenever he felt down, weak, or just plain bored, he’d go near this chordophone and play out some tune. Like what he’ll be doing now.
He placed his ivory palms on the wooden feature of this piano, feeling its smooth texture, as he sat in front of it, getting ready to play the first key-notes…
*3, 2, 1, play All of Me! *
Before beginning, he played the first notes that could be heard for the song he knew. (We knew)
Then, he sang…
What would I do without your smart mouth?
Drawing me in and you kicking me out,
You’ve got my head spinning,
No kidding,
I can’t pin you down,
What’s going on in that beautiful mind?
I’m on your magical mystery ride,
And I’m so dizzy, don’t know what hit me,
But I’ll be alright…
My head’s underwater but I’m breathing fine,
You’re crazy, and I’m out of my mind,
‘Cause all of me,
Loves all of you,
Love your curves and all your edges,
All your perfect imperfections,
Give your all to me,
I’ll give my all to you,
You’re my end and my beginning,
Even when I lose I’m winning
‘Cause I give you all of me,
And you give me all of you, ohoh,
How many times do I have to tell you?
Even when you’re crying you’re beautiful to,
The world is beating you down,
I’m around through every mood,
You’re my downfall, you’re my muse,
My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues,
I can’t stop singing,
It’s ringing in my head for you,
My head’s underwater but I’m breathing fine,
You’re crazy, and I’m out of my mind,
‘Cause all of me,
Loves all of you,
Love your curves and all your edges,
All your perfect imperfections,
Give your all to me,
I give my all to you,
You’re my end and my beginning,
Even if I lose I’m winning
‘Cause I give you all of me,
And you give me all of you, oh,
Give me all of you!

CHING!
PLINK!
The sound of a cymbal cuts him short, making him press most keys at the same time. Slowly, he shakily turned his head to see a human girl beside the drum set which was located near the doorway of the chamber. His soul beats faster than before, sweat slowly formed, rolling down his collar bone, as the familiar blue hue quickly became visible in his cheekbones. “F-frisk?” he stuttered.
-------------------------------------------------------------
After disappearing from her sight, she became worried he couldn’t teleport back to his dorm, so instead, decided to go to his room to make sure he’s ok. Climbing up the stairs that leads to the 2nd floor of this building, she walked swiftly to the next room she encounters; the brothers’ dorm.
‘Sans? You there?’ she asked mentally, knocking gently at the wooden door. No answer, but the door was slightly open. She hesitated whether to go inside the room without the brothers’ permission, but being the curious cat she is, she walked in, gaping at two divided sides of the room.
On one side stood as the tidiest. Its walls all painted in red-orange, just as its theme has that red hue. The other side, however, was very messy. The blue side, and dozens of socks are located everywhere. A mini tornado could be found at the corner of this side of the room. Automatically, she already knew that the red side of the room belonged to the great and tidy Papyrus, and the latter was to the lazy and messy skeleton. She chuckled at how the two are complete opposites. Yet they have each other’s backs and could not bear to be separated from them. Their bond was inseparable, how sweet!
But at the thought of them being very close brothers shook Frisk in fear. Why does everything around her always have to remind her of being the one who cut the bond they shared together. In the head that is. Cut in the head.
She sighed, picking up a picture frame from Sans’ bedside table. It showed Sans, Papyrus, and… Chara, all happy to be with each other. Chara just got to take and live the life of someone else’s.
The sound of a piano filled the room. Where did that came from? Following the harmonic playing of piano, led her to a room just right next to the skelebros’ dorm. The door was slightly ajar, enough for her to see the source of music. Was that, Sans? She blinked at the skeleton playing the piano. She thought him good at playing the piano. That was, until an additional bonus came in. He sang! She never knew he could sing so good. His deep voice, sounded… Amazing. Mesmerizing. She quickly melted through his singing, carefully listening and making sure he doesn’t find out she was there, watching him.
Her eyes shone admiringly at this creature she once called as her best friend. She never thought she would actually fall for him, though it’s not surprising for they were very close to each other. But sadly, there will always be something in the way of her new life. The fact of killing the brother of your best friend was her greatest mistake. Suddenly, everything just felt, pointless. Slowly, her determination is decreasing, and she have nothing to do with it.
Sighing, she was about to turn and leave, when her hand suddenly strikes the cymbal of a nearby drum set. Oh, dear. He’s alerted, great.
“F-frisk?” he stammered, looking back at her in embarrassment, as a blue glow appeared in his cheekbones. ‘I w-was j-just passing by. Yeah.’ she stuttered in reply, but the skeleton, however, is not convinced, so she coughed, ‘Didn’t know you could play. Or sing?’ she asked, giving him an impressed smile.
“It’s a secret hobby of mine, but now, ya saw. Or rather heard. But hey, ya didn’t do anything wrong, Honey.” he shrugged, avoiding her gaze.
‘You’re actually pretty great! How come you hid such talent?’ Frisk complimented, causing him to turn into a blueberry.
He coughed, shaking off the compliment, “How about ya? Ya know how this thing works? Or even both? Singing and the piano?” he asked slyly, which earned her roses slightly blooming from her cheeks. ‘Um, well. A little bit of both. But I’m not great at those things or anything!’ she explained in reply.
“Well ya never know unless ya try!” exclaimed he, lifting her with his blue aura, and placing her next to him, “Besides, it’s only fair since you saw me doing it.” he added, causing her to agree nervously.
‘Don’t say I didn’t warn you from my incredibly earth-shattering voice.’ she shrugged, placing her fingertips on the keys. “What? With your wonderful voice talking in my head, you call that earth-shattering? Your voice is music to my nonexistent ears!” he exclaimed, but quickly turned blue when he realized what he just said. The human was all flustered by this compliment. No one ever said her voice was beautiful. But nonetheless, with newfound courage and determination, she began to play.
*3, 2, 1, play A Thousand Years! *
She softly closed her eyes, like she always did, feeling every beat that comes out of her clicking each key. Melting in to the music, she sang in her mind, which can only be heard by the skeleton that watched her intently…
Heart beats fast,
Colors and promises,
How to be brave,
How can I love when I’m afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone,
All of my doubt,
Suddenly goes away, somehow,
One step closer,
I have died everyday waiting for you,
Darling don’t be afraid,
I have loved you,
For a thousand years,
I love you for a thousand more,
Time stands still,
Beauty in all she is,
I will be brave,
I will not let anything take away,
What’s standing in front of me,
Every breath,
Every hour has come to this,
One step closer,
I have died everyday waiting for you,
Darling don’t be afraid,
I have loved you,
For a thousand years,
I love you for a thousand more,
(Sans)
And all along I believed I would find you,
Time has brought your heart to me,
I have loved you for a thousand years,
I love you for a thousand more,
*Instrumental*
She was surprised to hear Sans suddenly join her singing, which caused her to flush a little. ‘S-sans. I told you I’m not good at this…’ she muttered, while still continuing to play the piano. “Nonsense, Honey! But ya’re right about somethin’ though. Ya're not good alright.” he paused, leaning in to whisper, “Ya’re great.”
(Both Sans and Frisk)
One step closer,
One step closer,
I have died everyday waiting for you,
Darling don’t be afraid,
I have loved you,
For a thousand years,
I love you for a thousand more,
And all along I believed I would find you,
Time has brought your heart to me,
I have loved you for a thousand years,
I love you for a thousand more…
Silence followed after that. She didn’t bother facing the monster that heard her sing for the first time. She was too shy to even talk about it. On Sans’ case, he was slightly blushing the whole time. He wasn’t expecting to be enchanted by the soft voice of a fairy that casted a spell on him. Holding back some of her chocolate brown hair behind her right ear, she sighed, ‘So…’
“Beautiful. Just… Beautiful.” he complimented, smiling at her admiringly.
