C21: My Dadster

A/n: Won't be sayin' anythin', 'cause I ain't in the mood today.

Please prepare the song; 'Stitches by Shawn Mendes'. (FYI: This is my favorite song ever! Right when my, ahem, crush, ahem, crushed, ahem, my soul.)

I'll be warning you also that, inserting Stitches is so frickin hard with all the background in it, yaddayaddayadda, so don't blame me if it's all so messed up, you can't understand anything, ok?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"Mic test? Mic test, mic test, 1, 2, 3... Is this thing even on?" Muttered a sophisticated smooth voice, its beholder, a tall broad but slender skeleton wearing a grey turtleneck sweater underneath a neat white lab coat, black pants, and a pair of black dress shoes. His clean-slated ivory white skull was adorned with black markings; one sliding down his left eye socket, and the other, climbing up his right.

And if the fact that his charming but stern appearance involved of such fascinating marks are weird, consider the mystery of what caused him to have perfectly-shaped round holes on either of his skeletal phalanges. Strange.

He was sitting on his swivel chair in front of a recording camera and a microphone, a beautifully-carved navy blue guitar in hand. By the looks of how he positioned himself, it seemed he was preparing to perform in front of his camera.

"I was... just a kid back then," Sans shakily stated, "when everything seemed to go haywire."

*3, 2, 1, play Stitches!*

(Gaster)
"I thought that I was hurt before,
But no one's ever left me quite this sore..."

"My old man," he chuckled as he reminisced a certain memory, "was just like me. People may think of him as an arrogant fool just because of his impossible dreams of freeing everyone from the Underground. But I knew he wasn't like that."

"Your words cut deeper than a knife..."

"When I was young, I'd see him wind up whenever he goes back from work. I'd see him sit down. I'd see him grab his favorite guitar..." the skeleton paused, adding suspense and wonder to the atmosphere.

'And?' The brunette human beside him asked in such interest.

"Well... he'd sing!"

"But I need someone to bring me back to life."

As he sang, with his fingers expertly strumming the strings of his guitar in such grace, such melody, he did nothing but to smile. Music always did this to him.

"Got a feeling that I'm going under,
But I know that I'll make it out alive.
If I quit calling you my lover,
Move on..."

"Like me, music was like a part of him. Oh, he loved music so much, it was one of the only things that calmed him down."

"You watch me bleeding when I can't breath,
Shaking, falling unto my knees,
And now that I'm without your kisses,
I'll be needing stitches!"

"It was one of the things we both shared to love. Bet I took this 'talent' from my dad."

"Trippin' over myself, achin',
Beggin' ya to come help,
But now that I'm without you're kisses, I'll be needing stitches..."

Unaware to him, little lab apprentice, Alphys, stopped playing around another little skeleton, like the small children they were, watching and listening admirely at her mentor. Never had she expected such a stern person like him could have the guts to play like that. She didn't notice, however, her  friend's ball roll straight to land on the edge of the core, the very contraption she, and her teacher worked so hard on in order to heat up the Underground.

"Al?" A small voice called out beside her. It was her friend, Sans, whose gaze wandered off to someplace else. It was at that time, she noticed the ball dangling.

"O-oh no! Th-that's a c-close proximity t-to possibly f-f-fall. It w-will be too d-dangerous to come n-near it." She frowned.

"But dad won't be happy if I lost it." Sans sighed, gazing back at his singing father.

"Just like a moth drawn to a flame,
Oh you lured me in,
I couldn't sense the pain..."

An idea struck him, much to his joy, "Wait here. I've got an idea to tell dad about this without him being mad."

"It b-better work. Y-you don't want Dr. G-gaster to fume a-a-at us." She cowered, cringing at the memory of how cruel her master could be if disappointed.

"Don't worry." He reassured, starting off to run for his father, "I got this."

'Aren't you such a naughty boy back then?' Frisk giggled, playfully poking his cheekbones in a teasing way, sending a flutter in his soul and at the same time, a blue glowing tint.

"W-well, I mean, we're kids, right?"

"Your bitter heart cold to the touch,
Now I'm gonna reap what I sew.
I'm left seein' red on my own!

Got a feeling that I'm going under,
But I know that I'll make it out alive.
If I quit calling you my lover,
Move on..."

Never noticed a boy creeping in his office, he got a little carried away, blowing off some chords in such a punk rock way.

"You watch me bleeding when I can't breath,
Shaking, falling unto my knees,
And now that I'm without your kisses,
I'll be needing stitches!

Trippin' over myself!
Achin', begin ya to come help,
But now that I'm without you're kisses, I'll be needing stitches!"

(Young Sans)
"Needle in the bed, gotta get you out of my head,
Needle in the bed, gotta wind up dead."

The scientist was entirely surprised his son came to join his number. He didn't mind. He just smiled, backing him up, encouraging him to continue.

"Needle in the bed, gotta get you out of my head,
Needle in the bed, gotta wind up dead.

(Gaster: Gotta wind up dead!)

(Young Sans)
Needle in the bed, gotta get you out of my head!
(Gaster: Get you out of my head)
Needle in the bed, gotta wind up dead.

(Gaster: Wind up dead!)

(Young Sans)
Needle in the bed, gotta get you out of my head, get you out me head...

(Both)
You watch me!

Bleeding when I can't breath,
Shaking, falling unto my knees, (YS: Fallin' on my knees!)
And now that I'm without your kisses,
I'll be needing stitches! (YS: I'll be needing stitches!)

Trippin' over myself!
Achin', begin ya to come help,
But now that I'm without you're kisses, I'll be needing stitches!

(Young Sans)
"And now that I'm without you're kisses, I'll be needing stitches!"

It was amazing, how the visibly father and son moment went. Both skeletons stared at each other, before breaking up to goofed up laughter.

"That's my boy!" Exclaimed Dr. Gaster, giving his son a proud noogie, in which Sans chuckled giddily in return.

"But not as much greater than my good ol' dad."

"Good point, of course. No one could be greater than me!" He laughed in such pride, pounding his chest with a smug look on his face.

'Now I know where Papy takes after.' The human once again chuckled, recalling her tall skeleton friend.

"Yeah. Dad had always been an egotastical flirt back then." The skeletal monster sighed.

...

'A flirt?!'

"Now... what brings you here, Sans?" He asked, finally acknowledging his sudden presence.

"Um..." the boy nervously murmured, fiddling with his fingers in a frightened way, "I kinda left the ball rolling. It ended up at the side of the core."

"The core?" He repeated, cocking his skull to see through the window, spotting the noticeable red ball, seeming to threateningly fall any minute now.

"I'm sorry." The little skeleton apologized, displaying a cracked smile, as WingDing only smiled reassuringly in return.

"It's okay. I'll get your ball. Just stay here." Were the words he left his son with, before disappearing to the open doorway.

Sans, on the other hand, positioned himself in front of the camera, doing a lot of funny faces as he did. Until...

"S-sans!" Alphys called out, bursting in from the door.

"What is it, Al?" He said, turning to face his friend.

"Th-the---" but before she could finish, the ground shook furiously, startling the two to fall back.

"W-what was that?" The skeleton shrieked, pushing himself off the ground.

"I-it's the c-core! I've d-d-detected unusually d-dramatic increase in h-heat signatures. W-we need to tell y-your dad a-about this!" She jittered uncontrollably from fear.

"But my dad is..." he paused from realization, "MY DAD!" He screamed, dashing past the terrified reptile, surprising her.

"W-where are you g-going?" She asked.

"He went to get the ball from the core! I've got to warn him!" He yelled, speeding up throughout the halls, red flashing lights dancing in alarm.

While on the run, however, he tried to ignore an intruding whistling sound of ringing in his non-existent ears. He didn't mind that at all. He just wanted to see his father.

________________________________

He sighed, scratching the back of his skull. 'He must've rolled it too far.' The slender skeleton thought, eyeing both the ball and the core warily, as he confidently but cautiously walked across it.

'I think Sans and I will have a lot to catch up on.' He chuckled mindlessly at his pun, continuing to stroll.

As he was about to reach out for it, a strange shrieking shrill high-pitched long term whistling squeak interrupted his intent, the sound blasting off the dark void of his hollow skull. But this horrifying melody I now speak of, was ominously familiar to him.

"The Silence..." he muttered darkly, but was soon startled by the alarm sounding off, red flashing beams signifying an alerted pace. The grey-tiled ground shook rapidly, causing for him, along with the ball to fall straight to the core.

The last words he could hear before hitting whatever was down under, was the scream of terror and remorse coming out of his innocently young child.

"Dad!"

...

The brunette could feel the heavy breathing the skeleton who held her was giving out. She could even sense the fright, guilt, mourn, and the rapid chasing of his soul beat, trying desperately to catch up with all the mixed negative emotions overflowing inside him.

"I-it was just an accident..." he stammered, his pinpricks disappearing to vast nothingness of pitch black continuity, "Itwasjustanaccident, I-I didn't mean for him to d-d..." he tried to continue, failing to hold the tears he kept inside any longer. Frisk frowned, embracing him in comfort as she rubbed circles behind his back.

'Shh, it's okay. It's all in the past now. You were just a small child when that happened.'

"B-but I--"

'Stop. I know, you feel guilty about what happened, but you were so innocent, ignorant to understand what was going on.'

"Heh. And I'm the son of a scientist. How could I not know what was happening?"

'Because you were young, and that's that.' She said, pulling away from the hug, her squinted eyes lowering, 'I know how it feels... to be guilty for l-losing someone.'

"You lost someone to?" He repeated, bewildered by her strange mention.

She gulped, afraid of accidentally revealing what had happened in the past timeline, the dreaded memory replaying in her already stained mind of regret.

'Y-yeah...' she cringed, her imagination playing the same scene over and iver again. She swore she even saw Papyrus beside them. Was his past soul haunting her now?

"Who?"

'I-I... l-lost... s-someone, someone...' she stammered mindlessly, tranquilized by the rush of guilt that was pierced into her. At the back side of her mind, she could hear Chara cheer maniacally of victory, expecting to finally get what she wanted.

'P-p... p...!'

"🔥⚫♏♏◽📬"

And she did.
