In The Mirror
I wear a dress, the red color of crime.
Like skin on my bones, striking a flame in time.
It’s flawless, like a beautiful glass of wine,
Hiding the sins that craves the story of mine.
I wear a necklace, black so corrupt, with a diamond from hell.
The midnight earrings to complete the set,
Like the nightmares I have been in,
Making all the sleep, a race incomplete.
I wear a crown, golden of glory,
With the ruby of tragedy that my kingdom bleeds in.
My head high, mischief smiling from the lips that have cried,
She is the queen of lies.
I wear shoes, sharp as glass,
Walking in the world of barren hopes,
That once was filled with childhood like a bed of roses.
Now the days are dark,
Reflecting the mirror I see me in.
The queen has risen from her throne,
That killed the small girl I once had been.
