1. Outside
If there was one thing that Jay taught me all of these years, it was that love was weakness.
If you wanted to be a villain, you couldn't love. It was as simple as that. So that was the first thing I had cut from my life when Jay took me in. Every little bit of emotion I had towards anyone or anything was striped away, leaving a cold, stale exterior. Jay was the only person I cared about, which was acceptable in his eyes.
The next thing after love was trust. Trust would get you killed, so I got rid of that too. To love was to trust, and to trust was asking for a death sentence. Jay always told me that love and trust were the two things that got him to where he was today, so I knew that if I wanted to be like him, I had to listen to what he said.
Especially after what he was asking of me now.
"You want me to what?" I say, raising my eyebrows. What Jay was asking me was almost suicidal.
Lightning bolts of blue bounce around on his skin. "I need you to go to Earth 1."
"But my place is here," I say, quoting him himself. He had told me every time he went to Earth 1 that I needed to stay behind and watch over the prisoners, so I was confused at what he was asking of me now. "You told me that I needed to stay here."
He cross his arms now, his face mask in his right hand. "They're coming for the Flash before too long, along with Well's daughter. I need you to go with them."
"How am I supposed to get on the inside?" I ask. "Jesse knows me-"
"She knows Silver Trickster," Jay says, a sly smile on his face. "She doesn't know Raven."
I could see where he was going with this. "Alright, I can see that, but what about after I get over there with them? What do you want me to do there?"
"I need you to figure out what his game plan is," he nods, glancing over towards the opening in the cliff. I wondered what he was looking at. "I need his speed, you know that."
I nod my head. I've known this for most of my whole life; he needed speed, and I wasn't going to let him die. "We're going to get it, Jay. The Flash will be a laughing stock after we're done with him."
Jay nods, his eyes going towards where Jesse and Barry were now. "I know you can do this, Raven. Just remember what I told you."
"No trust," I quote, nodding my head. "No love."
He smiles then, his eyes lighting up before he places his hands on my shoulders. "That's my girl."
A quick memory flashed through my mind of my father, but soon it was gone and only Jay was standing there. After Jay had taken me in, I've seen him as my father. He taught me right from wrong and helped me control my powers, and for that I was forever thankful. He saved me.
Jay looks down at his hands then before back to my eyes, nodding his head solemnly. "You good?"
I nod my head, feeling his power flow throughout me. My powers were something of a miracle; while Jay just got speed, I had the ability to temporarily borrow a power from whatever metahuman and use it to my advantage. When that ran out, I had anti-gravity on my side. I wasn't sure how the science part of it all worked, but frankly, I didn't care. It worked for me, so why does it matter?
"Good luck," Jay says before rubbing his right thumb on my cheek. That had always been our little thing since I was little, but I wasn't sure where it came from. He just kind of started doing it one day, and it stuck. I nod my head towards him before the next thing I know, his mask is back on and he's sweeping me off of my feet, flashing me towards the glass cages.
My breath was taken away before I open my eyes again, seeing that I was behind glass. Jay was gone, and I was left standing here behind the glass in my regular clothing that I rarely ever wore anymore.
I played the act, that's for sure. As soon as I realized what had happened and realized where I was, I quickly ran to the glass and started to beat on it. I screamed before a voice spoke out, causing me to look over and see Barry staring at me.
"It's no use," he sighs, shaking his head. "Beating on it won't get you out."
Jesse nods her head. "I hate to say it, but he's right."
I breathe heavily, trying to act as if that took a lot out of me. "Where am I?"
"Zoom's lair," Barry says, his eyes meeting mine for the first time. It was strange, that's for sure. Every other time I had seen Barry was either from behind my mask and with him behind that glass. We never really made eye-contact before. "Who are you?"
Before I could come up with a fake name, I was already spitting out my actual name. On the bright side, I did have a different last name up my sleeve. "Raven Volt."
Barry nods as Jesse speaks. "Why are you here?"
"I could ask you the same thing," I breathe before my eyes land on Barry's suit, coming up with a new topic. "Wait, you're the Flash?"
Barry narrows his eyes. "How do you know me?"
"You remind me of another speedster," I say, referring to Jay. "Wait, you're a speedster."
He leans up against the back side of the glass, crossing his arms. "Yep."
"I am too," I say, sparking interest in Barry's eyes. "Well, sort of anyways."
Jesse's chains jingle. "What do you mean sort of?"
I lift the palms of my hands to where they're facing the celling, looking at the old piece of food lying in the corner from the last person that was in here. Now that I thought about it, he really wasn't in here for very long before Zoom killed him. What a shame. Barry and Jesse watch closely as it rises slowly into the air, hovering in front of my face before I let it fall back to the ground.
"Anti-gravity," Jesse nods. "How cool."
Barry shakes his head. "But I thought you said you were a speedster?"
"Not necessarily," I raise my finger. "Whatever power a metahuman has as I touch them, I will temporarily borrow that power. It will wear off after awhile, but right now, I have the speed force within me, since Zoom brought me here."
Barry nods his head. "So that's why you're here; so Zoom can steal your speed too."
I wondered if telling him all of this was bad on my part, but then I realized that I needed to tell him. If I wanted to get on the inside, I needed to be trusted. No, that didn't mean trusting him, but I at least needed to be able to get close to him.
"I guess so," I say, knowing that he was wrong. Jay wouldn't ever do that to me; he cared too much about me. "Have you tried phasing through this glass?"
"I'm not fast enough," Barry sighs before his eyes brighten. "Wait-if you took Zoom's speed, you should be fast enough to get out of here, right?"
I gulped, not really wanting to get out of this "prison" just yet. The others weren't here yet; we had to wait for Cisco and Wells.
"Let me try," I speak, taking a step back, feeling the speed course through me. Running wasn't a foreign concept for me; Jay always let me borrow his powers. It didn't effect him any, so he just taught me all that he knew. We were quite the duo.
My fists clench as I feel the lightning behind my eyes, taking a step forwards before running. I focused on going through the glass, but I held back. I made sure to make the act look believable, but no way was I letting myself get through that glass yet. I yelp quickly as I hit the glass, flying backwards and smacking my head on the other end. It hurt, but pain was something I had to learn to get used to being with Jay.
"I guess I didn't get all of his speed," I breathe, but I knew deep down that I did have it. I just duplicated it, so it was the exact same.
"It was worth a shot," Barry sighs before collapsing to the ground. He thinks for a moment before looking back up at me. "Who are you really?"
I furrow my eyebrows. "I'm not sure what you mean."
"How did Zoom get you?" he asks first, and that was when I realized he really was asking who I really was.
I come up with a story fast. "He was looking for Wells. The news was broadcasting about it all. He was starting fires, coming at civilians, and even invaded S.T.A.R. Labs. I was only trying to help before he found me and brought me here."
Barry believes me, but he doesn't ask anything else. I think he was trying to let it settle that Zoom was after his friend, the only person keeping him alive at this point. I could tell by Jesse's face that she was worried as well, but that worrying didn't last for long.
"Barry!" I hear someone shout, causing my head to flick towards the noise. For a moment I thought that it was Reverb, but then I remembered that Zoom had killed him last night. This had to be Cisco, since he was dead and since Wells was with him. But that wasn't all who was with them. Barry, Iris, and Killerfrost were here as well.
Guess who's in trouble.
I glare at Killerfrost, wishing that she would've known that this was me; that I was Silver Trickster. She had no idea though, and that was the irony of this whole situation. I'll make sure Zoom knows about this, and he'll make her pay. He'll make everyone pay.
"Get us out of here!" I shout before Wells runs over to his daughter, starting to unshackle her with the help of Killerfrost. After she helps him, she walks over to my cell and presses her hands against the glass, freezing it before it smashed into thousands of pieces. For a moment I was surprised that it didn't have carbine in it, but then I remembered that Jay set all of this up for a reason.
Killerfrost runs over to Barry then, about to do the same thing she did to my cell, but it did have the carbine in it. Her powers are useless as she backs away, frustrated with herself. "Why isn't this working?"
"Carbine," Wells breathes, putting it together.
Cisco knows what this means. "Can't you just phase out of there?"
"I've already tried," Barry says, hope no longer in his vocabulary. "Just leave, alright? Get out of here and leave me."
"We're not leaving you!" Cisco yells, but everyone else was already on the same page as Barry. I wasn't sure if this part was apart of Jay's plan or not, only because he needed Barry's speed and for him to be here, but the only reason I was here was because he needed me to go with them. I was more than confused.
Earth one Barry steps up, facing his doppleganger behind the glass. "No, listen. Do you know what we did to get here? We had to find her and convince her to bring us here, and then we climbed up some steep hills with foothills made out of ice...ice, okay? All of us risked our lives to find you, even when we knew that Zoom was after us. Now I don't know you, and you don't know me, but I can tell you that today, I did things I never thought possible. If I can do the impossible today, so can you. I'm just Barry Allen, but you're the Flash."
Barry smiles faintly and starts to phase out before he actually does it, leaving the rest of us shocked. I only was because he was getting faster every day, which was something Zoom needed. It was a good thing he could get out of there.
"Come on, let's go," Cisco breathes before we all turn to run, but the next thing I know, Zoom was standing there, causing a smile to form on my face.
He looks at me for a moment, but then he looks back at KillerFrost. I knew he had to do this to make it all look believable, so I credited him for that. "Thank you for bringing them to me."
Cisco looks over at her. "You double crossed us!"
I guess KillerFrost did pull through. "I guess my heart is as cold as you thought after all."
"Zoom," Barry steps forwards. "Let them go. You just want Wells and I; keep us and leave them alone."
Jay steps forwards. "You're right. I may not be able to kill you yet, but I can kill the rest of them."
The brown hair around my face whips away as Zoom flashes over to Jesse, grabbing her neck before holding his hand out. "I told you I'd kill you in front of your father."
"No!" Wells screams out, and for a split second, I saw my past. I saw my small figure sitting there at the table before my father was gone, being raced away out of my life and of existence. I felt sorrow that Wells was going to have to watch his daughter die the same way as I had watched my father leave me, but I couldn't stop it. No one could stop it.
But I was wrong. The next thing I know, blasts of cold are shooting towards Jay, knocking him off of his feet. I wanted to rip out KillerFrosts heart for doing that to him, but I knew then that all of this had to of been staged. KillerFrost had to be on our side, or else Zoom would've killed her way before, right?
"Get out of here," she snaps before shooting more of her icy blasts at him, keeping him on the ground. Jesse runs to her father as the rest of them start to run out of the room, trying to get out of there as fast as possible.
As soon as everyone had left the room, I looked back at Jay, who was being frozen inside of a giant layer of ice. He kept trying to break out of it, and it made me wonder if this was staged or not. I about ran at KillerFrost to make her stop, but then I see Jay look at me, nod his head slowly, just like he always did to reassure me. I nod back at him before waving goodbye, dashing away back to where Barry and the rest of them were headed.
I didn't want to leave; that's for sure. This was home, and I've never really been anywhere without Jay's influence. He made me me and kept me safe. I knew I could do this on my own, but something inside of me was changing, and I didn't like it.
I didn't like it one bit.

so yeah, this was different I guess.
I can't wait to strengthen Raven's and Jay's relationship. She sees him as a fatherly figure, so I mean, what can't I do with that? Let's just say I can't wait for Barry and Raven as well ((:
