13. War of Hearts

After leaving S.T.A.R. Labs, along with Barry and the time wraith that wanted to kill him, I figured that I should go check back up on the other Barry. I mean, it wasn't like I really cared that much about this Barry, but I thought making sure that he wasn't dead or something along those lines would be a good move. Especially since if he was dead, then my Barry would be too...I think. Time travel messes with my head.

My hair whips around my face as I skid to a halt, the boots Cisco had given me for my costume working perfectly. He really was amazing for making this. I quickly brush a few stray strands of hair out of my face before turning towards the dumpster, seeing a red boot sticking out slightly behind it. Looks like he was still here...let's just hope he's not dead.

I take my time as I walk over towards the dumpster, tuning in on all of the other sounds around me as I did so. Cars honk in the distance and people continue to chatter away on their phones; it amazed me how things never have changed. I quietly chuckle to myself before I lean up against the dumpster, finding the speedster still lying there, unmoved.

His chest falls and rises with a constant beat as the suit hugs his body tightly, the egg white symbol in the middle standing out more than I had ever realized. I cock my head slightly as I watch him, wondering if I should just leave him here or take him somewhere more safe, I suppose. I guess we won't be here for much longer though; depends on how long it takes for Eobard and Barry to figure out how to stop that time wraith.

The longer I stood there and thought about the time wraith, it made me wonder if Jay has ever gone back in time and didn't tell me about it. I wondered if he's had to deal with the same type of thing before; I bet he knows how to stop them. If only he was here right now...

I missed him.

I pause when I see Barry's eyelashes flutter, but only for second. My breathing stops as I watch him closely, noticing that his breathing wasn't as patterned as it was before. Just when I swore that his heart started to race faster, he's leaping off of the ground and tackling me.

A loud grunt escapes my throat as he pins me down, breathing heavily as he looks down at me. "Who in the hell are you and what is going on!"

Rage burns inside of me; only because never did I let anyone take me down like that. I don't say anything as I retaliate by grabbing his wrist and twisting it, but not breaking the bone. In that small moment of weakness, I push him up off of me before grabbing him by the shoulders, pushing him to where I'm pinning him up against the wall.

His breath trickles across my neck as his eyes widen. "No, no-just tell me what in the hell is going on-"

I raise my fist to knock him out again, but somehow, the little bastard slips out from under me before darting out of the alley and down the street. I'm baffled for a moment before I grit my teeth and take off after him, spotting him turn the corner towards S.T.A.R. Labs.

If it wasn't for the head start he had, I would have been able to catch him. I was after all faster than him, but barely did he beat me into S.T.A.R. Labs. I was practically right behind him when he stopped in the main lab, barely mumbling Cisco's name before I slam into him, the two of us toppling to the floor.

I hear Cisco and Caitlin gasp behind me as I quickly pin Barry back up against the wall, but it was already all too late. This Barry being here already screwed up the whole time line and everything else that Barry and I were trying to avoid here.

"What is going on!" Caitlin shouts as she jogs over, her heals clicking against the tile. She stops moving when I glance over my shoulder at her, giving her a look telling her to stop, which she does.

Barry starts rambling. "Where's the other one? The guy that looks exactly like me-"

"Shut up!" I scream in his face, my head spinning. I wish my Barry was here to fix this, because I had no idea what to do. I wasn't even supposed to be seen. "Shit, this isn't good at all."

"Let him go."

I look over my shoulder then to see Barry standing there in the doorway, only causing the looks of everyones faces to drop. I do as he says as I let Barry go, his eyes frozen on the other Barry. I didn't blame him. Must be weird to see yourself in that type of way.

"Who are you?" Barry points as he walks around me.

Caitlin points back at the Barry that said that. "I think the real question is who are you?"

"What? I'm Barry!" he shouts, looking back over at my Barry. "He's not Barry."

"Actually I am Barry."

I put my hands on top of my head. "Oh dear Lord."

"This is tripping me out man," Cisco says, holding his hands out. He looks between the two of them before looking over at me. "Now that we know that there are in fact two Barry's, who's she?"

Eobard speaks first, wheeling forwards in his chair. "Okay that doesn't matter, but um, how or why exactly are you here...Barry number two?"

My Barry sighs as he glances over at me. "The simplest way I can say this is that we're from the uh...future."

"F-Fut-ture," Barry gasps, looking down at Eobard. "A-Are we saying that I-I can t-time travel?"

"Someday," Barry says, nodding. "I'm sorry, the dart that Caitlin gave me was supposed to last longer-"

"I didn't give him a dart, I swear," Caitlin says, holding her hands up.

I throw my hands into the air before walking over to Barry. "I'll be outside; this is giving me too much of a headache right now."

The other Barry calls after me. "You never answered us about who you are?"

I look back at him, raising my eyebrow. "It doesn't matter. You'll learn my name someday."

He gives me a strange look before I walk around the corner and lean up against the wall, sitting as I tried to process my thoughts. I really did hate this time traveling thing, especially when it came to meeting yourself like Barry and Barry just now did. I'm not even sure where I would begin to start if I had been face to face with my own self.

Time travel was overrated.

Jay was avoiding me.

Ever since he confronted me about that robbery, he hasn't said a word to me, let along looked me in the eye. In all honesty, he was barely even around anymore. He hasn't asked me to come along with him lately, and that worried me. I know that he can hold his own, but there was always that what if factor that plagued my mind.

In my time of solitude away from Jay, I've been plotting ways to get Dust Storm to help me. So far I've only came up with two ideas, which of them being to black mail her or to offer her a deal she can't resist. I haven't figured out what that blackmail or that deal could be, but I'll figure it out when the time comes. She won't be able to turn me down then.

Besides that, I've been training. Just the typical raise a bottle in the air and then throw it against the wall and the defense and offense moves of course. I was starting to get a few bruises here and there on my knuckles from hitting the punching bag so much, but the perk about being a "metahuman", as they call us, was the fast healing. It was a blessing in disguise.

In fact, that was what I was doing the moment Jay stepped into the room. I ignored him however as I focused on the dull black bag in front of me; it starting to rip at the seams. I hear Jay shuffle around behind me, watching me, not saying a word for the longest time. Eventually, I got tired of feeling his gaze on my back, so I turned around and placed a hand on my hip, talking with my body language that I wanted to know what he was doing.

"I should probably get a new one of those," he plainly says while looking back at the punching bag. I don't flinch.

I brush a few strands of hair from my pony tail out of my face. "You haven't spoken to me in days, and that's all you have to say?"

He takes a deep breath, clearly not sure what to say to that. I was preparing myself for yet another fight between the two of us, but instead, he takes me off guard. "I have something to show you."

I narrow my eyes. "You know I don't like surprises."

"You'll like this one," he smiles just barely before turning and leaving the room. I stand there for a moment, not sure if I should follow or not, but in the end, I did of course. Before I leave the room, I take off my gloves before tossing them to the side, dashing off to catch up with Jay.

I follow him into the main room (I would call it the living room, but Jay hates that term) before stopping in my tracks. Everything was placed in their spots normally, but sitting in the middle of all of the other objects was a giant glass case with a costume inside.

My eyes widen. "W-What's this?"

He smiles again. "If you're going to keep coming out with me on heists, you're going to need a costume. I just hope it fits."

I step forwards as my eyes scan every little piece of it, taking it all in. The whole costume itself was a jet black, just like Jay's, if not darker. Streaks of silver trace up the sides and front of the costume, almost looking similar to the blue lightning that was constantly bouncing off of Jay's skin. The streaks all meet in the center which had a piece that looked like Jay's lightning symbol, except mine was a fox.

I thought I was going to cry. "Why the fox?"

He steps forwards and opens the case, speaking as he does so. "I thought it represented you well. Foxes are told to be tricksters, and that's what you are, Raven; always tricking your opponent with what you can do."

I look back at the costume, a wide smile spreading across my face. I haven't been this excited about something in a long time. "I-I love it."

"Well, try it on!" he says while pulling the costume out of it's case, handing it to me delicately. "It better fit right or I'll kill the idiot that made it."

I slowly take it from him, scared that I was going to damage it if I made the wrong move. The leather fabric on my hands gives me goosebumps before I take off and put it on at lightning speed. With every move into the costume, my smile became brighter on my face...I couldn't help it.

Soon, I'm flashing back out and standing in front of Jay. I notice myself in the mirror behind him as I smile at myself, loving everything about it. The fox in the middle suited me like Jay had said, and it couldn't be more perfect.

Jay grins at me for a moment before it fades. "It's missing something, but I can't figure out what."

I look down at myself. "What are you taking about? It's amazing."

He thinks for a moment before nodding his head. "Ah, I got it."

He leaves me standing alone in the main room for a moment as I admire myself in the mirror, loving how much it hugged my body. Before I know it, Jay is back, holding something I couldn't identify. "What's that?"

He doesn't answer me as he steps forwards and sticks his fingers into the jar, wiping his fingers across my face under my eye before doing the other eye with a different color. He steps back and nods his head before I look at myself in the mirror, noticing one smear under my eye being black and the other silver. It reminded me a little of the girl I had heard about on the news one day that was in Gotham City, Harley Quinn.

I grin at myself in the mirror. "It's perfect, Jay. Now to work on a name-"

"Actually, I already have that covered." He steps up behind me as I look over my shoulder, wondering what he had up his sleeve with a name. However, I knew the moment he told me that it was going to stick and be apart of me for the rest of my life, and I was right.

"Silver Trickster."

Aw my brotp made up, how sweet.

And yes, I cut that one scene in the beginning short because honestly, I didn't know how to really write it. It's hard to write when there's two Barry's and you can't physically see who's speaking and such and UGH it gave me a headache so I gave up, haha.
