i didn't even scream once

(that statement is totally true btw jumpscares don't get me. (also my apologies the "title card" isn't a gif. my after effects is broken and won't open.))

hi everyone & happy halloween!! this october i watched all the scream movies and i wrote my thoughts and reactions so here they are. enjoy!!

before we start i have several confessions to make :
1- i wanted to do a scream marathon but i watched scream 6 first because i was on a flight and it was available. like what was i supposed to do?? not watch it??
2- 4 months ago i saw a video on youtube that was called something like "the history of the stab franchise" and i was was bored and i refuse to pay for paramount+ so i was like "it's fine i won't be watching the scream movies anytime soon". so now i know all the ghostfaces (except i can't remember one from the second movie).
3- i have seen the entirety of scream 4 a couple years ago and i have seen parts (if not all) of scream 3 like 8 years ago (but i don't remember much)
4- i have seen trin lovell's commentary on all the scream movies and i have seen oh it's just rebecca's commentary on the 5th and 6th ones.

also before we start : spoilers for the scream movies (duh) but like actually i'm spoiling stuff from example the fifth movie on the first one's reaction, 1 mtv scream character death spoilers, 1 vague mention of ellie's plot in the last of us part 2, also slight spoilers i guess (you need the context to be spoiled but anyway) for yellowjackets.

-if i saw i car i would have booked it for the road not hide right beside the door. but that's just me

-casey you still have the phone in your hands throw it or something so it will make a noise

-why is billy climbing through sidney's bedroom window and scaring her?? like if i didn't know he was a ghostface i would have been really suspicious

-gale what are you wearing?? yellow highlighter lookalike

-why did the principal grab sidney's chin like that it's weird as hell

-stu dated both casey and tatum?? how??

-sidney why are you going outside??? to be honest i would probably do the same thing but like

-"dewey: does mom know" i didn't catch that before. i'm gonna be honest i first watched this movie like two months ago and i thought dewey was tatum's step-dad (he looks much older than the teens sorry also i hadn't slept in 24 hours so)

-i'm sorry i know people like her but gale is a bitch

-*sidney punching gale* deserved

-"someone was gonna write a book about it anyway" fuck you gale. you probably say that sentence every movie

-billy is like : you'd rather (rightfully so) think i'm the killer than have sex with me? were the fuck did that come from

-"billy : my mother left i'm totally over it" yeah... sure... totally...

-the cheerleader girl who's talking shit about sidney looks 30 if not 40 years old so shut the fuck up

-gale stop flirting with dewey you're like 30 something. dewey no don't flirt back

-there's a citywide curfew but sure let's throw a party

-wes carpenter? i think that's like a movie director or something (later edit : she's merging wes craven and john carpenter) but when i first watched i was like carpenter?? as in sam* and tara's dad??

-the zoom-in on the bush i'm dead

-he works at a video store?? randy is literally my dream man

-randy is right about the killer it's a shame he dies (i think in the second one??) i wanted him in every movie

-once again thoughts from my sleep deprived dumbass brain (from two months ago) : when dewey said sidney was with his sister i thought her and tatum had returned to the house. so i was like oh dewey is tatum's uncle. i realized dewey and tatum are siblings later that day and i was like i'm so dumb

-why is dewey allowing this party??

-ghostface is goofy as hell in this movie. meanwhile in the fifth one a teenage girl is lifting a grown ass man in the air with 2 knives

-rip tatum. god that was the worst death of the movie

-randy and sidney would be a good bisexual panic duo (for me at least)

-1. why is sexy spa music playing. 2. sidney i think there are better places to have sex than your boyfriend's friend's parent's bedroom

-sidney billy couldn't have called you from prison how would he have snuck in the voice changer? up his ass?? also wouldn't the police see he called tatum's house?

-*ghostface does a knife wipe* ohhh so that's what they were doing in the sixth movie

-randy saying look behind you at the movie while he's the one who should turn around is really funny. (also i know of the parallel with mindy in the 5th movie)

-billy can barely stand and just rolled down the stairs. sidney i think you should keep the gun

-when billy shot randy i really thought he was dead

-you can't convince me something lgbtq wasn't happening between billy and stu

-sidney don't just stand there while gale gives a speech. you're in the kitchen get a pan or something and smack them

-billy and stu are like the worst killers ever how did they get away with all the other murders

-"my mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me" please

-sidney did you really have to put the costume on?

-thank god randy is alive

-did they have a compositor for this movie or is it just youtube copyright free music

-i acutally have seen the beginning of this movie but confused it for the third one. i don't know how much i have actually seen

-i don't think people were even THAT excited for avengers endgame

-wouldn't the people in the theatre notice she's being stabbed and bleeding?

-rip girl you looked amazing in that haircut

-thank god they changed the font

-randy what is this beard??

-"name one better sequel" the scorch trial. and i will die on that hill. (later edit : people on letterboxd are saying shrek 2 and to be honest i have seen this movie but i have no memory of it)

-"free press??? free press??" GALE PEOPLE DIED

-i think that journalist woman is billy's mom?? i'm not sure she's that woman but i know she's one of the killers

-sidney punch gale again. ohhh she did!! BEAT HER UP

-i love gale's camera man he's so funny

-"cici : i heard a noise upstairs" then don't go upstairs. she got outside thank god

-this is shot much better than the original not all chase scenes are at a 45° angle

-living for all the gale slander

-why would you answer the phone sidney??

-ghostface is still goofy as hell in this

-no it's not derek i refuse to believe it. is he the one she's still with?? i swear oh it's just rebecca said it was patrick dempsey but maybe i'm wrong?? anyways he's not the killer

-is mikey the other killer??

-sidney is a fashion icon that brown leather jacket with that green shirt!! give the costume department a raise

-"i wanna help her" of course... that's why you wrote 5 books

-i'm choosing to trust randy he was right in the first movie it's mickey

-you know what i still love randy. this weird little beard can always be shaved

-i think cotton is a little suspicious but it's maybe too obvious??

-feel bad enough to not write four more books gale?? that's what i thought

-dewey is mad at gale (and rightfully so) but gale just does 🥺 and dewey is like what i was wrong you're perfect

-very sorry to anyone but if you're getting murdered in front of me i'm not gonna stand there crying i'm booking it in the opposite direction

-ghostface running through the trees i'm choking. oh actually it's the frat boys

-derek is dying on that sun thing i'm calling it. is he gonna fall on stage jake (oh whatever his name was) mtv scream style

-oh it is mickey randy was right. who will predict in the third and fourth?? mindy is there for the other (and she was right for the 6th (i haven't seen the 5th))

-i don't think covering the bullet wound on his heart is gonna do much sidney

-"you forgot one thing about billy. i fucking killed him" sidney prescott the final girl ever

-nancy loomis is a little crazy (and by a little i mean a lot). (did i/will i support ellie williams when she does the same thing (kills innocent and a person's friends for revenge) yes. and what about it.)

-she killed randy YOU FUCKING BITCH

-cotton is gonna make sidney agree to an interview while she's fighting for her life

-sidney how do you explain the second gunshot wound in the head

-i don't think the alarm will do much on a one meter high fence. it's easily climbable

-"probably some psycho fan pissed off they killed randy in stab 2" me. it was me

-dewey's working for the stab movie? hypocrite

-is sidney's mother haunting her???

-every time gale says "i'm with the police" "i work for the police" it makes me think of lucifer

-OH MY GOD that bodyguard didn't. leave tatum's name out of your mouth asshhole

-these people are so dumb (the actors) they will all die and it will be their fault

-the girl who plays sidney is kinda suspicious. i know roman is the only killer but i've seen some suspicions/theories and i think people said she was the one who could have helped him

-"you gonna buy her flowers" what is this cop talking about?? not to hype myself but i am pretty good at seeing ships before they happen and let me tell you even if i know sidney and mark end up together i didn't see a single sign of romantic interest in the previous scene

-randy's sister as in chad and mindy's mother??? hello legend. fabulous work on the children

-randy replying to dewey's jugement on the tape is hilarious

-omg so sidney's mom's last name was roberts?? so it really was a coincidence they casted emma roberts in the fourth one. i thought they couldn't think of a last name so they just took hers

-CARRIE FISHER WAS IN SCREAM???

-what does hot set mean?? i thought it was because there was heating because i first saw it on the yellowjackets set for their cabin but now i realize i'm dumb because it was in a studio

-why tf is his last name kincaid i hope the kids got prescott as their last name

-okay fine gale's kind of a girlboss in this movie. but she'll write 3 more books so...

-*creepy studio producer talking about the "parties"* DISGUSTING

-okay fine i see the tension between sidney and mark

-when dewey said "it looks like stab 3 is back in production" i was so discouraged i accidentally slapped myself

-the two gales are so funny

-why did you split up that's how you get killed. fucking dumbass

-roman gets his mask off and sidney is like who the fuck are you

-they killed so many people in this movie i don't think it's self-defence anymore how do you explain that to the police

-thank god the dog made it

-i know i said i watched this movie but i don't remember who the other killer is

-stop this is so younger siblings to pass the phone to the oldest whenever it's someone weird

-i watched this movie with absolutely no context on the scream franchise so to tell you this opening scene confused me would be an understatement

-that deputy girl (judy) is really weird. the first time i watched this movie i thought she was the killer

-i'm pretty sure charlie's the other killer

-is sidney dumb like coming to woodsboro the anniversary of the murders??

-"i help solved things, three times" you didn't solve shit gale (also no one else did but)

-that boy (trevor) is creepy as hell i hope jill kills him

-ghostface screaming/whispering "this is not fucking trevor" is sending me

-they go to the hospital for a little cut and a bruise. if i was an american i would only go to the hospital if i was on the brink of death

-i saw this before but it was outside so i didn't say anything but why is everything so fucking bright and sort of glowing

-"to survive a horror movie you pretty much have to be gay" *camera cuts to kirby* kirby lesbian confirmed??

-if i was any if these students i would be so scared of someone in a ghostface mask going around

-*this man getting stabbed in the forehead "oh shit"* please this is the funniest thing someone could say

-did jill really kill her own mother?? i forgot about that

-"it's you and me forever" proceeds to get a divorce in this movie/between this one and the fifth one

-PEOPLE ARE NOT LOCKING THEIR DOOR HELLO YOU'RE GONNA GET MURDERED

-why are these people answering the trivia like if he really wants to ghostface will kill you anyway

-the billy hallucination is so funny

-why do women write about their infidelities in their dairies (looking at you sam and tara's mom & shauna shipmann)

-what kind of man immediately leaves his family because he found out his wife cheated. like i get leaving for a few days to think about stuff and getting a divorce but just leaving and never coming back. maybe they're better off without him

-"i'm billy loomis' daughter" so you're giving that information freely now

-i have a question what is the timeline on sidney and mark's relationship because she clearly wasn't dating him in the fourth one or he would have committed several traffic violations to come to woodsborrow. like how did they re-meet?

-everyone is related to people in the original movies it's like a fanfic at this point

-*mindy says sam is the killer* MINDY I BELIEVED IN YOU

-why does everyone have a knife rack? i don't have a knife rack i have exactly one knife

-*judy getting killed* in broad daylight and no one is seeing this. also where are the cops?? how did ghostface have time to murder both of them before the police showed up

-i love the little movie-seption with mindy watching randy in stab saying look behind you. also thank god mindy actually looked behind her. these new characters are smarter-ish

-talk about a reveal amber compliments to the chef

-maybe the ghostface are a little goofy in this as well they lost tara

-amber going from "i was radicalized" & "i'm just a dumb kid" to "and he died like a pussy" is so funny. scream movies are nailing the evil woman

-i have seen this one like two months ago but i'm really excited to see it again with the context of the other movies

-samara weaving a true scream queen. she was amazing in ready or not

-why would you want to finish richie's film i don't even think they filmed anything?? they just wanted a new stab movie based on true events

-i LOVE the title card. also this song is really good 🎶 in my head 🎶

-sam hasn't opened up in six months then she's just like "it felt right" (to kill richie)

-they have 3 looks? honestly if i could same

-mindy and anika!!! (almost a year ago i got an ad on youtube for the scream 6 trailer and i saw a very brief shot of anika but i was like it that vanessa from backstage??? (a canadian children's show) and it actually is so good for her)

-if i hadn't known ethan was a ghostface i would for sure have had the biggest crush on him like a nerd with curly hair my weakness

-danny is like the best love interest because sam (rightfully so) is suspicious of everyone and he's like i totally get it. meanwhile all the other love interests who were accused were like really defensive

-why is only billy's costume in a case?? stu was also there

-"-the tv that killed stu mocker. -if you actually believe that." the fuck?? is stu still alive

-why are mindy and kriby having a movie off or something. i don't see a dark fan and quiz them on their tastes... hottest character 3, 2, 1 : alt martha nielsen (see now i'm just disappointed because you said noah or the stranger)

-"i wanted the monsters to be afraid of me" yess kirby (later edit : i watched this movie again and for some reason i cried when she said this)

-"yanked into a van. stab, stab, stab. no more randy." rip again legend

-it's fully night now that doesn't make sense it was broad daylight like 5 seconds ago

-quinn literally QUINN grabbed a grown ass man i'm convinced the ghostface costume gives you some supernatural abilities

-why are the subway lights flickering i don't think it's supposed to happen

-there's a girl in the whole ass may queen outfit from midsommar

-why wouldn't anyone notice mindy getting stabbed??

-they wanted me to believe kirby is ghostface but i would never

-this is a family of psychos

-"i got stu's he was my favorite" mine is jill but respect

-"there's a really special bond between a father and his first son" ethan's face i can't. were you disappointed?? boo-hoo

-ethan omg you're a psychopath and also a creep ass

-why are people always saying let me go when they barely hanging on like i am still not over avengers endgame stop

-through the throat omg ewww but also it's what he deserves

-"looks like you're down another brother" absolutely savage sam

-"-who do you think they're gonna believe? - probably the one who's still alive." jeez sam you're on fire right now

-i love the fire in the background

-i really hope danny doesn't die in the next one sam deserves a good love interest

-kirby also can't die

-they finally changed the credits thank god they were kinda boring before

-here's my ranking from best to worst : 6. 4. 5. 1. 2. 3.

-my favorite ghostfaces are : 1-jill roberts. 2-amber freemann. (after much thoughts they're interchangeable). then idk

-also ghostfaces i have a personal vendetta against : nancy loomis (for killing randy) & ethan (for killing anika)

-i really love this franchise i can't wait for the 7th one. and i can't wait to be 80 years old risking getting a heart attack from a jump scare to go see the 50th one or something
