Taylor's POV:

"Who's that?" I asked, looking over to the brown haired and green eyed boy.

"That's Chris." Hailey said.

He looked over to where we were sitting and I quickly looked back at Hailey.

"He's looking over to here...uh what do I do?" I asked and she started laughing.

"He just looked over here and you like start freaking out. Calm down, he's cool. Don't get all nervous and stuff." She said, letting out a giggle.

Suddenly, I heard a deep male voice.

"Hey Hailey." Chris said and I tried everything in my will to keep calm and not blush.

Gosh what is wrong with me?

He's just a guy.

"Hey Chris. Oh, this is Taylor by the way." She said.

He smiled at me and I literally melted into a puddle.

Okay, not literally but you get the point.

"Oh I know who she is." He said.

He knows who I am?

"How?" I asked.

"X-Factor." He replied and I mumbled a 'oh right'.

I noticed his hair looked really soft and fluffy.

Kind of like Niall's...

Ugh get that boy out of your head.

"Well I'll see you guys later." Chris said and Hailey and I said bye.

"He's so hot." I said.

"I know right."

"You can't just keep holding on to him. He'll just forget about you. He was a jerk before and he could might as well turn into a jerk with all the fame." Hailey said and I bit my lip.

I know what she was saying might've been true, but I really believed maybe Niall wasn't actually a jerk.

I don't think he was your perfect pot of tea but, I got to know a side to him not many people knew.

"I don't now..." I mumbled.

"Oh come on, just give it a shot. One Direction might win and they'll become famous and Niall will forget about you for good. Give Chris a chance." She insisted and I guess that made sense.

I couldn't just hold on to the same guy.

There are plenty of fish in the sea.

"Okay fine. Just for you." I said.

"Yay!" She squeaked and I laughed. "Okay text him back, hurry."

"Alright shut up I'm going." I said, shaking my head.

Message from: Chris

Hey I was wondering if you and Hailey wanted to hang with us.

Message to Chris:

"Us" who?

Message from Chris:

Stephen and I. Maybe catch a movie or something?

I showed Hailey the texts.

"Oh my gosh he so likes you!" She gushed and I felt my cheeks heat up.

"No, maybe he likes you." I said and she rolled her eyes.

"Please, did you see him staring at you today?" She said and I looked at her with a sceptical look.

"Yeah. He wasn't looking at me in any way. It's probably just because I'm like sorta famous or whatever."

"We'll see." She smirked and I just  sighed.

"You're impossible."

"Thanks."

"It wasn't a compliment." I said.

"I know." She smiled. "Now text him back!"

"Okay okay!"

Message to: Chris

What time?

Message from: Chris

8pm at the movie theater by the mall. Don't bring money.

I raised my eyebrows.

"What?" Hailey asked, noticing my surpised expression.

"He told me not to bring money." I said, confused.

Her eyes widened.

"HE IS SUCH A GENTLEMAN OH MY GOSH."

I started laughing way harder than I should have.

"Shut up Hailey." I said, still laughing a bit.

Message to Chris:

okay.

Just as we were about to leave, I realized it was Wednesday.

"Wait uh...Hailey?" I said, looking over at my TV which was turned off.

"Yeah?"

"X-Factor final is today and I-"

"No. You can't keep thinking about him!" She said.

"But-"

"No buts. If you come up with another excuse I will smack you." She warned.

"Ughhh." I whined.

"Oh and, give me your phone. You're not allowed to creep on twitter to see it." She said and I gave her a no-way-I'm-giving-you-my-phone look.

"Hand it over now." She said, sounding like my mother.

"No!" I pouted.

"Then I'll just tell Chris you called him hot and-"

"Fine." I said, through gritted teeth.

"Thanks love."

"I hate you." I grumbled.

"Love you too!" Hailey said and I rolled my eyes, again.

We drove to the movie theater and found the two boys waiting outside.

Hailey found a parking spot and then we started to walk over there.

"Okay, just act cool." She whispered.

"What if I say something stupid?" I asked, already feeling self-concious.

Before she could answer, we came face to face with Chris and Stephen.

"Hey guys!" Hailey said, smiling widely.

"Hey Hails. Oh and also hey to you Taylor." Stephen said and I smiled.

"Hello." I said.

"Hey Taylor, and Hailey." Chris said, his eyes fixed on me.

I could feel Hailey's excitement and suddenly, also felt my cheeks heat up.

He's just looking at you Taylor, chill out.

"Uhm hey. Thanks for inviting us." I said trying to sound cool and he smiled.

"No problem, I'm always open to making new friends." He said.

We all walked in and just as I was about to pay for my popcorn -because I did bring money- Chris stopped me.

"I thought I told you not to bring any money!" He said, with a teasing smile on his face.

"No I couldn't-"

"I will pay. Don't worry." He insisted and I smiled.

"Okay thank you." I said.

I looked over at Hailey, and she had a huge grin on her face.

"Alright let's go." Stephen said and we went in the movie.

Halfway through the movie, Chris got closer to me and whispered,

"Wanna go catch something to eat after this is over?"

I bit my lip.

I don't know if I wanted to.

I mean, I know I still have feelings for Niall and I feel bad for just jumping from one guy to another.

But then again, Niall and I never actually had like a serious thing.

Maybe I can just hang with Chris as friends.

Yeah, just friends.

"Sure. Can we have pizza?"

He chuckled.

"Yeah, pizza sounds great."

After the movie finished I told Hailey about the pizza.

"So pizza now?" I said and Chris looked at Stephen.

"Uhm actually I gotta go home. My mom told me to be there by ten." Stephen said and I looked over at Hailey.

"Yeah I have to go study, sorry." She said and my eyes almost pop out of my head.

Oh no she didn't.

"Are you sure?" I asked, forcing a smile.

She knew I was mentally strangling her for doing this to me.

"Yeah sorry. See ya later." She said.

"Okay just come to the bathroom with me real quick. Be right back Chris." I said and dragged her to the bathroom.

"What do you think you're doing?!" I asked her and she laughed.

"Chris obviously wanted you two alone. That's why Stephen made that up." She said with a duh tone.

I scrunched my eyebrows together.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"It's obvious. Did you see the look they exchanged when you mentioned going to eat?" She asked as if it was obvious.

"No..."

"Just go. Bye honeybun. See you tomorrow." She said and walked away.

Well now it's not like I have a choice is it?

"Wait! My phone!" I yelled and she gave it to me.

"Thanks."

I walked back to where Chris was and apologized for taking so long.

"It's okay. I know how girls are." He chuckled.

"So you were friends with Cher?"

"Yeah she's cool."

"How about the One Direction guys? I heard one of them went to our school." He said and I faked a smile.

"Oh yeah. Niall did. We talked a few times." I lied. "Well, it was nice hanging out with you. Thanks for everything." I said, and he smiled at me.

Dang. This boy sure had pretty eyes.

"Your eyes are cool." I said.

"So are yours." He complimented me.

"No they aren't! They're just plain boring. Yours are light really cool and green." I said and he laughed.

"That's not even a valid argument!" He teased.

"Still." I said, not being able to come up with a good comeback.

"You're a stubborn girl, you know that?" He said and I shrugged.

"At least I like pizza." I said and he started laughing again.

"What kind of answer is that?"

It was me who started laughing this time and before I knew it, we were having a laughing fit.

"Oh- Oh gosh. My stomach it- it hurts." I said in between giggles.

Suddenly it got silent and he was staring at me again.

I started looking around awkwardly and I cleared my throat.

"Uhm I- uh it's getting late. I think we should go now." I said and my awkwardness rubbed off on him too.

"Right yeah. I'll drive you home I guess." He said and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Thanks for everything Chris. You're a cool guy." I said, and smiled at him.

He smiled.

"You're welcome Taylor. You're not too bad yourself." He smiled, that half smile guys do.

Reminded me of Niall's half smile that-

Ugh.

Get out of my head Horan. I don't need you clouding over my thoughts when I'm with a cute guy.

You still like him. Don't deny it.

No I do not.

Whatever floats your boat loser.

"I'm not a loser!" I said and immediately covered my mouth.

I did not just do that.

"What?" Chris said and I laughed nervously.

"Uh hahaha I um I'm not a loser." I said and he gave me a weirdo look.

"Okay..." He said and I giggled awkwardly.

I'm such a mess.

I let out a huge sigh of relief when I got home.

"How was the movie?" My sister asked.

"Yeah it was fine." I said and went upstairs.

I immediately checked twitter and my eyes saddened.

They were third place.

How?

They were great. Everyone loved them.

Niall must be devastated.

I should just go to sleep now.

And so I do.
