you became bright.
you became colorful.
you became the sun and all the seasons.
you became what i always saw in you.
you became the light you always craved.
and everyone can see it.

while i stayed in the dark.
i stayed invisible.
i stayed in the rain. in the quiet.
i still wear the same dark clothes.
i lack all of the color you have now.

i embody the things you changed about yourself. i am what you have abandoned.
and everyone can see that.

everyone can see that eventually
you will abandon me too.

because your light is fragile.
and you can't let it crack.
because that would let darkness in.

i am the darkness you can't let in.
i would take your light from you.
i would drain your color.
so you have to push me out.

and the worst part is that i understand.

you deserve keeping the light.
you have worked so hard for it.
i would only drag you down.
