Louise's POV

I stayed over at Conor's house last night. We didn't get up to anything if that's what you think, we just talked for ages. I never realised how much we had in common, it was scary. He was actually quite a lot like my dad. I had to wear one of Conor's t-shirts because I didn't bring anything round – so yes, I smelt like a man...

"You ready to go, hun?" Conor asked as he threw his backpack over his shoulder. I nodded eagerly. We walked out of his house and he put the keys into the ignition of his bike. The black leathers he wore were tight and showed off his muscles, I couldn't help but gawp a little. He handed me gloves and a helmet and I put them on quickly, jumping on the bike as soon as I could.

"You ready for school to know everything?" I laughed as I spoke into the microphone in the helmet. I could feel the tension and nerves build up in my stomach. School are now going to see me and Conor together. Like properly together.

"I'm not worried if you're not!" He said confidently. "Let them stare; they're just jealous that you got me and they couldn't after years of trying!"

"And the guys will be jealous of you?" I questioned unconvincingly.

"You'd be surprised. People don't think of you badly..." Conor teased.

"People have talked about me to you?" I questioned eagerly. I began to twitch my leg as we sped down the road nearing school. Any minute now everyone is going to see me with Conor.

"Maybe. Not for me to say, I'm not a gossip." He started before hesitating. "Oh shit." He said quickly in a worried tone.

"What? What's wrong?" I tried to see over Conor's shoulders, knowing if I leant too far I could tip the bike off balance.

"My gang are outside school..." He said, shocked.

"Oh God." I managed to blurt out. I couldn't speak. What were they doing here? Did they find out I'd called the police on them? Were they coming for David? Were they going to get Conor for leaving them? Conor slowly pulled up into school and parked his bike.

"Stay here." He said sharply as he removed his helmet but the gang were already walking towards us. Seeing them again gave me chills and brought back all the memories of what happened at the park. I could see Jason staring at me as I removed my helmet and it made me uncomfortable. Conor grabbed my hand in his and intertwined our fingers. "It'll be alright." He whispered to me as they came up to us.

"Conor. Why weren't you at our meet up this week?" Jason began, no hi or anything. He looked annoyed – like the kind of annoyed where you don't sleep and you just look like a mess because something is playing on your mind so much you cant think of anything else.

"I was at the police station, covering your asses." Conor said confidently.

"I told you, Jason!" Sanjay piped up, receiving glares from the group.

"Alright!" Jason hissed back. "I was just testing him." Jason shook his head. "You know the police are after us?" Jason looked between me and Conor. "Apparently someone ratted us out."

"Well I spent my day saving you and Louise hasn't even been to the police yet." Conor stated, before shaking his head. "If it's David I swear to God..." I could tell he was pretending he was still on their side about it all.

"Well we were waiting for all three of you outside... but..." Jason shrugged. "I guess if you are telling the truth it is him!"

"Seriously he has done nothing but screw my life up, Jason, it wouldn't surprise me if he did it to try and stop me having friends too!" Conor tried to sound the victim.

"Yeah, news travels fast round here, Conor." Reece rolled his eyes. "We've heard about everything." I gripped Conor's hand tighter. They must know about me calling the police...

"What's she so uptight about?" Jason asked, glaring at me. "You got something to hide?" He took a step forward but Conor took a step in front of me.

"You beat her up and scarred her, of course she's going to be uptight around you, you dick!" I breathed a sigh of relief. Thank God Conor could come up with these things quickly! My palms were still sweaty and my breathing heavy, there was no way I'd have been convincing.

"There he is!" I said slightly louder than I meant to as David strolled into school. I just wanted the attention off me. He looked up from his phone and saw us all standing there. He stopped still and looked around; planning a way to escape but it wasn't going to happen, Reece and Zander were already walking towards him. They grabbed hold of his arms and pulled him over to where we all stood, throwing him up against the wall beside me.

"You think you're clever?" Jason stood inches from David, who was shaking nervously. "You think you can call the police on us and get away with it?"

"I-I-I didn't do it!" David protested.

"You did it in front of my face!" Conor shouted at him. "In detention?" I could see in Conor's eyes he wanted David to suffer. He wanted David punished for everything he's put people through recently... Yet I didn't want him to get hurt. I didn't want anyone to get hurt. I still remember David being that kind, nice guy in detention.

"Check his phone." One of the gang shouted and pulled his phone out of his hand, they went through the call history. "It's here, he called the police."

"I got burgled!" David protested again, his hands up as if he was surrendering.

"I find that hard to believe David..." Jason shook his head. "Boys, take care of him." He walked back a few paces and waved for me and Conor to walk over to him. When we got there he put his arm around Conor's shoulders. "So I'll be seeing you at the next meet up?" Conor looked over to me and back at Jason.

"I dunno man." He shrugged. "I mean I can't do all the violence. Now I know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of what we do to people, it's changed me." He said, half truthfully.

"You're dumping us for that girl?" David swung a finger in my direction. I scoffed.

"Excuse me?" I answered back. "I'm sorry, I think what Conor is trying to say is that he's a much better person than you'll ever be no matter how many people you scar..." Jason shot a look to Conor.

"Well you don't hold anything back, do you Conor?" He spat. "And it's got nothing to do with you, you're a nobody." He looked me up and down.

"Fine! I did call the police on you guys but only to try and get back at Conor cos he stole my girlfriend!" We heard David admit behind us. Jason walked away from us without another word, like nothing was more important to him than hearing David admit he called the police. He didn't even look at us as he left, his gaze went straight to David as soon as he heard his voice. Part of me felt bad, part of me screamed out to admit I'd already called them but the other part knew that it'd leave me and Conor in more trouble. Conor could tell I was going crazy with all the thoughts I was having because he pulled me into his chest and hugged me. I put my arms loosely around him, but the comfort was enough to calm me down a little.

"Well, its lucky for you that your last words were admitting you were wrong and telling the truth." I heard Jason say before I heard David grunt. It was about that time I heard cars speeding and brakes screeching as they stopped outside our school. I pulled myself away from Conor and we both looked round to see a group of squad cars and police running up to the gang. They caught most of them but Zander and Sanjay attempted to run off, soon being caught by the fitter of the policemen. The gang were dragged back to the squad cars in handcuffs as they mumbled numerous cuss words under their breath.

"Base, this is Juliet Oscar 23 we need urgent medical assistance at Stanhope School. Repeat we need urgent medical assistance at Stanhope School." I heard from behind me. Without thinking I turned again to see a policeman knelt on the floor bend over David's body laying lifeless on the floor. I went to run over to him but Conor grabbed my arm and pulled me into him.

"Let the medics handle it, babe." He whispered into my ear as he stroked my back. I heard footsteps running over to David and the policeman but I didn't want to look, instead I sobbed into Conor's chest. "Hey, it'll be alright." Conor tried to soothe, but I knew it wasn't going to be ok. Someone like Jason wouldn't miss his target when he had good reason to kill him. Jason was going to be spending time behind bars but now I can assure you it's going to be a much longer sentence.
