Chapter 20 ~ Both/Finale

Your POV

The moment I had been dreading had finally come.

The night of socials.

I didn't really spend much time browsing through my closet like I had thought I would. Instead, I spent most of my time dreading it and watching Beyblade Burst. I had already gotten prepared for the socials. Just threw on a grey oversized jumper with the word "dreamer" written aesthetically on it and some mom jeans. Extremely basic.

I could only imagine Chanel, Harper and Ashley searching through their whole wardrobe, styling their hair and frantically making on make-up. Whatever.  A smile was drawn onto my feature as I watched a Shalt moment. Of course I didn't ship them romantically, but their friendship was cute as.

'(y/n)!' Mother called from outside my room, knocking on my door. 'Jordan is here! He says that he's dropping you off at the socials!'

'Okay!' I replied, before letting out a tired exhale, clambering off my bed. I quickly applied some mascara and concealer before rushing downstairs. Mother's forehead creased at my outfit.

'You're wearing just that?' she asked me.

I rolled my eyes. 'It's better than a slutty one.'

Mother smiled approvingly before I ran down to the garden. None of the maids were in sight, probably helping for dinner. Only Blair stood in front at the gardens, leaning on a pillar. Even though she wasn't going to the social, she dressed up as if she was. She was wearing a shimmery silver mini dress, nice and tight, paired with some platform heels. Her usually wavy hair was elegantly curled, and she was wearing full-face makeup. She tutted as I approached her.

'You're dating Jordan Mendax,' she stated. 'At least wear something nicer and be proud.'

'We aren't dating,' I denied it for the fiftieth time today. 'And stop being salty, Blair. If you want to be with him, I'd be happy to step aside.'

'No thanks,' replied Blair crisply, before a car beeped, averting me attention. Right in front of me, in the driveway, was an expensive sky-blue convertible sports car, with the celebrity singer and actor sitting in the front. His chocolatey hair was brushed back messily, which looked quite stunning actually. His brown eyes twinkled as he looked at Blair, which reassured me that this was all for my sister and my family, not some stupid celebrity drama that I had been dragged into.

'I can take you to the social, Blair,' offered Jordan, his words littered with extreme charm. My older sister rolled her eyes.

'That's your cue to leave, (y/n),' Blair said to me, ignoring Jordan. I nodded and started walking towards the driver of the sports car. 'And...have fun.'

'Thanks.'

I climbed into shotgun, shocked with the fact Blair had just said that. It seemed like forever since she wanted me to have fun. I didn't expect her to start now, right after I kissed her boyfriend. But...maybe that was a sign the old Blair was returning, maybe she had opened her eyes after the night of Ashley's party. I turned to look at Blair once again, but she had gone back into the house, her dyed blonde ombrè hair fluttering in the wind. I took a deep breath and leaned back into the leather seat.

Together, Jordan and I drove in silence to the social.

-----------------

It was held at my school, so the scene wasn't unfamiliar like Amare would have been. But it still seemed different. I've visited my school plenty of times at night, but this was a special occasion. The lights had been tinged pink and red, fairy-lights hanging all over the school aesthetically. Multiple friendship groups and couples lounged around the pretty gardens, taking photos with laughter and love in the air. Roses had been sprinkled around the grass, and even as I entered the roof-top, the petal scent was still thick in the air. Mrs Caprit had added a white-washed fence around the rooftop, making it a fitting place for the social. A silver disco ball glittered on the floor, the colours bouncing off everyone's dresses. In one corner a photo-booth stood for couples, as well as a couple wall where couples could have their photo taken and hung up on the pink and white cardboard. A pink-clothed table was set on one side, various foods heaped on plates, as well as drinks fit for everyone.

Even though the whole setting was beautiful, elegant and effortful, it made me sick. It made me think of the past few week and unfortunate events, making my stomach churn with disgust. It didn't help that Ashley and Jack, the new hot ship, had just finished taking their couple photo and rushed into the photo-booth. A couple of loud, pleased moans shortly followed, making me glad that I had broken up with Jack. That could've been me, having sex at thirteen. A cold wind blew through and many girls shivered in there expensive dresses. Nobody had rocked up wearing a casual outfit except for me.

'I'm going to get some food,' I told Jack. He nodded, but he didn't seem to upset. Personally, I didn't blame him. The conversation had been dead and everything was just awkward. I made my way to the food table, avoiding couples and nosy Elites. I didn't want to deal with any drama right now.

Grabbing a plastic plate, I went to grab a pink napkin, but before my fingertips reached it, a cold gust of wind blew it off course. Tall palm trees were whipped around like crazy, even though the sky was clear. In fact, it was too clear. I could see every single star and planet in view without needing a telescope or binoculars. Thousands of galaxies and comets were in view, everything so beautiful, yet eerie.

'Woah!' A teacher with long, dark hair with pink tips came up to me, bending down and picking up all the napkins. I smiled gratefully at her, "Michelle", as the name badge said.

'Thank you,' I praised her. 'The weather's been acting oddly today.'

'Tell me about it,' she laughed. 'So is the night sky. It's so odd it's clear as glass. And comets have been raining down randomly, according to the news. I swear I saw a comet crash into the ocean while I was setting up for tonight.'

'Weird,' I frowned, deep in thought. 'I wonder if Mother and Father know anything.'

'Oh!' her eyes lit up with recognition. 'You mean Mr. and Mrs (l/n), the CEO of CSIRO!'

When I nodded, she continued excitedly. 'I work part-time there, you know. Your parents are amazingly so nice and kind. I've heard a lot of rumors about them being mean and posh, but the rumors aren't true at all.' She dropped her voice to a low whisper. 'Though personally, I believe it is true about the Darlingtons and their daughter.'

'I agree,' I nodded about the statement about Chanel. Even Chanel admitted she was posh and stuck-up, though she said that it was a positive thing about her, better than being poor and whiny. Speaking of Chanel, where was she? She's definitely at the social, she wouldn't miss it for the world. So where was she?

I kinda expected her to act like the Queen and focus everyone's, especially the boys', attention on her, like a classic attention seeker. But she wasn't to be seen anywhere, and no Elites were crowding over her. Instead, they were constantly hovering over Ashley. Weird. I wondered if that had anything to do with Ashley and the drama we had before morning admin in the classrooms, or the drama in the bathrooms that I had overhead. After that, I didn't expect them to be good friends anymore, but...maybe it was too late. Ashley's cunning plan had succeeded as giving her the title as 'Queen Bee'. I recognized many boys from Chanel's description that had asked her out. Now they were crowding around Ashley, even if she wasn't single. But she and Jack didn't seem to mind. Instead, they started low-key humping each other, garnering whoops and cheers, but none of the teachers saw what was happening over the large crowd. I turned away from disgust.

Where was Chanel?

A flash of glitter caught my eye and I saw her, surrounded by our friendship group, except for Layla, who was uncomfortably following Ashley around. She was wearing a soft golden sequined mini dress with a cowl neck. Her shimmered in the disco light, but nobody seemed to notice her when Ashley was around. She stood to one side, her arms crossed and eyebrows raised, saying Did you really do that, bitch? Even though she was surrounded by the higher ranking Elites, she was outnumbered in supporters by Ashley. Ashley had stolen her crown and turned lower-ranked Elites against their former queen. Somehow she had stopped the truth about her being poor from leaking, labeled it as a lie, and gained control of the Elites. All in one day.

Chanel's face was unreadable. It always was. She never showed any emotion to anyone or anything. The drama in the bathrooms was the first time I had seen her get emotional. Her perfect make-up always covered her face, acting like a glamourous mask.

'Hey,' I approached her. 'You ok?'

'I'll be fine,' she mustered a smile, but it was obvious it was fake. 'It's just...I never actually expected Ashley to turn against me and become Queen Bee, stealing all of my friends, all genders, except my close ones. But maybe it's for the best.'

Before I could reply, the devil herself walked our way, hand-in-hand with Jack and all of the Elites in Amare and Claritate backing her up. Even though she had gotten everything she wanted, but her expression was still nasty, as if it wasn't enough. I noticed some changes in her though. Her make-up was glam and on-point, her nails had been done as acrylics, her eyebrows done and her hair had been styled in a luxurious crown braid. Her dress looked extremely expensive, like something from Mother's wardrobe. She wasn't dressed for the socials, she was dressed for the red carpet. It was a sleeveless high-low formal with contrast, a train trailing behind while the front was cut short. An expensive necklace was placed around her neck, a large ruby settled snugly on the place between her collar-bones. Ruby earrings adorned her ears beautifully. Then something occurred to me.

'Hey, hoes,' she smirked smugly.

'Ashley,' I growled. 'How could you afford something like this? This must be very expensive.'

'Oh, it was,' laughed Ashley, but I could tell from how her face paled that the Amare boys and the lower-ranked Elites had no idea she was poor.

'And of course Ash can afford something like this,' Jack defended her. I avoided eye-contact with him, afraid that I might fall into the trap of his charming eyes.

'You're absolutely right, Jack, honey,' smiled Ashley, her eyes flicking up to meet his in pure adoration. It one smooth move, Jack locked his lips onto hers passionately. Ashley's eyes then flickered towards me, show-casting the message across, You're boo is  now officially taken, hoe. When the disgusting show of love finished, Ashley locked eyes with me again. She walked up to me confidently, before grabbing my wrist. I flinched in shock and pain, her grip as tough as iron. Her lips leant towards my ear.

'How I can afford this, you ask?' breathed Ashley into my ear. None of the onlookers had any idea of what was going on. 'Let's just say you're parents won't notice that a few million dollars had gone missing. How do you think I afforded my party?'

My eyes widened in shock. I knew Ashley hated my soul, but I never knew she would stoop so low as to rob my family. What's next, murder? I clenched my fist in bitter hatred and utter disgust. She probably tricked her parents into doing it while Father was away. If only everyone knew what she did.

'But the thing is, you have no proof to accuse me,' whispered Ashley, the corners of her lips curling. 'And we both know I am a brilliant actor.'

She released my now red wrist, before turning on her heel and waving her hand lazily like she was the queen. 'But ta-ta for now!'

Silence.

I turned to Chanel, who was staring off into the distance where Ashley had gone in anger. Then she noticed me staring at her oddly. '(y/n), I-'

Before she could finished her sentence, another gush of wind blew around the social. Except this time, it was much more powerful and there was a lot more of them. Girls screamed, searching for cover as the food tables were lifted up into the air. Boys scrambled around, looking for the girlfriend. Chanel's acid-green eyes widened in horror as the sky warped into a hole. Then she shrieked loudly, and ran downstairs to the classroom. Even though the place was complete chaos, I somehow felt calm. My heart felt fuzzy and warm, a strange feeling indeed. And then suddenly silence.

Everyone had left the rooftop except for me.

Some people were on the stairs, watching me in confusion, as to why I remained her. I don't know. It just felt right. The winds had stopped, but the warped hole in the sky was still there. Was this just a dream? I pinched myself, but I was very much awake.  I could hear the hum of a gigantic piece of technology, coming closer and closer through the hole. Before I had anytime to question myself or feel even more confused and shocked, an huge aircraft appeared from the hole. The hole closed, and I knew it had done it's purposes. To get the aircraft to Earth.

It didn't seem like it was from Earth. Heck, this whole thing didn't feel real at all. It was jet black and looked like a huge, unreal private jet with glowing purple light. The only unique thing was instead of a point at the front, it curved inwards like two pincers. And it seemed like the pincers were holding a huge orb, constantly swirling with iridescent purples, pinks and blues. As I made eye contact with the orb, it suddenly glowed a shining white, illuminating the school better than thousands of fairy lights could. Unreal.

My heart hammered with excitement, confusion and thrill. But I didn't feel scared at all. Instead, curiosity pulsed through my veins, urging me to go closer to the aircraft. And go closer, I did. However, I halted when a large ramp descended down onto the rooftop, landing with a loud thunk. A total of six people walked down, but all of them seemed very different. Their faces and body wasn't as detailed as human's was. They weren't human alright. But they weren't completely unfamiliar. I scanned everyone's faces. The leader carried himself arrogantly, thundering down the ramp. Then there was a tall man with green hair and golden eyes, trying to contain an old short man that was the definition of a mad scientist, bouncing of the walls. Next in line was a young couple, the woman with adoring green eyes and the man with sharp red eyes. Then in the rear was a certain somebody. As I laid eyes on him, my heart started doing jumping-jacks in my throat at lightning speed. His pale fingers brushed his shaggy, white hair out of his scarlet eyes constantly. His attire included a pink dress shirt with a black and red striped tie, a black high-collared vest with a white interior, long black pants, and shining black shoes. His vest bears a red Beyblade symbol on the left side. His right hand sports a red fingerless glove with yellow accents and a square cuff. He has a scar over his right eye, even though it was hidden I had seen it every time he won a battle.

My feet started running.

It was like a mind of my own. I didn't care if he knew about me or thought that I was a weirdo, I just kept running to him. To my surprise, when we locked eyes, he started running as well. Running until our bodies embraced each other like old friends.

'Shu,' I breathed into his familiar face. His crimson hues sparkled.

'(y/n).'

And the lips that had been waiting to see each other finally met.

SBIWSTK FINISHED!!!

Hope ya'll enjoyed it!

Book 2, anyone?

(Or maybe I'll just make an epilogue if I have enough time)

Anyways, I have an idea about a book and I want to focus on that. And I kinda lost interest in the books I was going to write. So, anyone wants the White Tyrant?

I've already written the prologue, so you can choose the story based off it.

Scars Don't Heal, anyone? I've written the first two chapters as well as the prologue so base it off that. And include Shu please, there has to be a reason why he is on the cover. Oops I just realized my name is on the covers still. I'll tell you how to fix it.
