haera.

it was finally D-Day. After multiple times of practise each evening for the past few days and improvement we tried to overcome by every practise. Yet also, we actually manage to grow fond of each other presence as we went by day and day-you can say like we've been long friends already.

"...hmm i think i'm having butterflies in my stomach already" haera murmured alone, whining while rubbing her tummy. "or was it that breakfast i ate?"

WHOOO! WELCOMEE!

a loud cheering came from the front, holding my head upward as my eyes darted towards the school festival huge banner by the school gate. The cheering was coming from the student council, they greeted everyone personally.

"whooo~ here comes the main artist of the show~" a girl from the student council cooed, rushing to my side as my cheeks started to blush. Everyone started to cheer on even louder with just the mention of yeonjun's performance later. The words of yeonjun's special stage was already being spread around the whole school within only a few hours the second day of practise. "good luck! we'll all be anticipating your stagee" the girl continued, patting my shoulder a little for encouragement.

the words really helped lessen the butterflies.

my view was then darted towards the familiar figure in front talking to the other theatre club members. "yeonjun-ah!" i called out. Getting his attention as he turned to wave with a smile.

"are you ready for todayy?" hearing his words suddenly made me feel a lot worse. Frowning, "i'm really scared for todayy" i confessed, whining as i  feel my whole body shaking.

chuckling as he bends down to her height, firming onto my shoulder "i know you're nervous so why don't we play a bit first" yeonjun squeaks out with his cheeky grin plastered.

"yeah, go play. You look like you faint anytime" the club president insists, shooking his head with the hardship imagination if haera does faint out of nervousness. "just make sure to come before our turns"

"okay, we will. Thank you" yeonjun bowed to him before he goes off to the backstage. As his figure was nowhere to be seen, yeonjun took grasp of my hand, "let's go" he huffed out before pulling me around the festival.

The kids in charge of the games and stall had to come 30 minutes earlier than the other to prepare the stalls. Nevertheless, all the stalls looked well-decorated and amusing. As we walked past the stalls, some of our friends greeted us. Most of them were excited to see our performance.

"do you want some cotton candy?" yeonjun spoke up before pulling my sides to the cotton candy stall. "Yo! yeonjun-ah" his friend greeted him as they exchange a handshake. they look really close. "one jumbo cotton candy please"

"so this must be the special girl everyone's talking about" his friend suddenly bursted, giving off a sly grin. Chuckling before he puts his hand on my shoulder. "yeah, this is haera" yeonjun introduced. "bruh, of course i know her name is lee haera. She's one of the trendiest now" his friend quacked with the 'duh' tone. I only manage to let out an awkward laugh with his statement. I didn't know getting a duet with yeonjun would get me so popular within days.

"that'd be 7,000 won please" his friend squeaks as he passes us the rainbow unicorn cotton candy. "thank you and enjoy your sweets! make sure to record some of your performance"  he continued after receiving money from yeonjun, bidding us goodbyes.

after chewing down the cotton candy, all my attention to yeonjun were completely lost. Chuckling, "haera-ah" he called.

stammering, "y-yes, w-what did you say? is there anything on my face?" i blurted to him, bombarding with question as he left out another chuckle. Gulping with his reaction. did i say or do anything wrong? "your face is really funny" he exclaimed.

joining him with an awkward laugh before he finally come to his senses, "i was just saying if you wanna play a game of this" yeonjun muttered, pointing to the tin ball game. A smile appeared on my face, nodding, "i'd like that, let's go" i mumbled, before taking his hands and leading him towards the game.

"hii, miliie!" i greeted on elf my classmate with a small as i let go of yeonjun's hand, embarrassed. "can we play a round each?"

millie nods," sure! each of you will get three bean bags to aim at the tins. If you knock down all the tin, you will win one of the stuffed animals or some of the embroidery hand-made by our students"  she introduced, showing off the bunch of stuffed animal decorated around the stall and also the hand-made embroideries she pulled from below the table.

i was astonished by the beautifully stitched embodiment. They even made some for keychains and accessories.

"i'll play first then" yeonjun started as millie passed the bean bags to the counter. "please stand behind the white line" millie instructed, showing off the white line drawn against the bricks.

i gasped, "that's quite far.." i murmured softly but millie managed to heard it rather vividly. leaning closer to me, "well you guys are seniors after all, if not you'd be standing by the yellow one then" millie snapped before pointing towards the yellow line being drawn a little closer to the counter rather than the white one.

yeonjun took gripped of all three bean bags and went to the yellow line. "i'll start now.." he huffed out before taking in a big inhale of oxygen to get ready in posture. His face was full of determination, especially with his sharp glare he gave to the tins.  "KYAAA!" he voiced out as he throws. We were all nervous to witness the result but only ended up bursting into laugh for his sarcastic sound effect to only get one tin down out of the 10 tins.

yeonjun rubs his back nape in embarrassment as we both tried hard to cover the laughs hurting our stomach. "that was just a warm up..." he emphasise before getting back to his hunter-like posture. Doing the breathing gesture before throwing the second bean bag, this time lessening the additional sound effect to not embarrass him.

it was a complete spare! well if it was still considered the same as bowling then.

we both were in awed with his result. "congratulation yeonjun-sshi" millie gestured first, clapping. "please pick a prize"

yeonjun scans through the whole stall, from the stuffed animals to the embroideries. Pushing off stuffed animal as he focused on picking an embroidery ornament. His hand took grasp of a 'Y' letter keychain with a diamond embroidery. "i'll take this one, thank you"

woww.. that design really captured my attention earlier...

"your turn, haera-ah" yeonjun snapped me back to reality. Covering my stammering with a simple nod before taking the three bean bags yeonjun used earlier and heading off behind the white line. "w-wait, how do you play this? you just have to throw it right" i questioned, nervous to throw the bean bag as i thought there would be any other technique to do etc. "nah, just throw and aim for the tins. you can do this, fighting!" yeonjun encouraged.

gritting my teeth as i inhale a big source of oxygen, using up some of my strength to throw it. "yAHH" a short nudging sound came out as i threw the bag, only getting a miss of too much power that the bean bag flew across the tin an onto one of the stuffed animal pouches. a goal though.

millie broke into laughs, she couldn't cover herself this time especially with that idle sounded sound effect. Meanwhile millie was busy laughing her tummy out, yeonjun came to my rescue. "here, try standing like this" he softly uttered, correcting my posture to the side as my upper body was twisted to the front. I flinched as he made contact with my skin.  "put out your arm... and aim to the tin" he continued, guiding my arm to straighten towards the tin as i starts to aim with one eyes closed. "slowly, you can do this"

yeonjun backs off to the side as i continue to focus on the tins. Pursing my lips together to not make any sounds this time as i strongly threw the bag, properly aiming for the middle. "wAAAA!" i jumped excitedly as i managed to knock down 6 tins, feeling as if i had already won something big. Millie was rather astounded by yeonjun's guidance skills. "not bad. now, your last throw"

millie's word snapped me back, frowning

TING-TING! TING-TING-TING! TING-TING!

the loud ringtone sound coming from yeonjun made us all darted our attention to him, himself also was startled with the sudden call as he shoved through his pockets to take out the call. "i'll take this call for a minute. Continue the game without me, okay" he reassured, giving off another 'fighting' before going to the corner part.

"hmm.. to knock down three pins would be hard" i complained, thinking off a strategic way to knock them all out despite the three pins lined up by each other. "it looks like i'd only be able to knock down two.."

sighing, here goes nothing.

with that, hear threw her last bean bag to the tins, aiming real properly just as how yeonjun taught earlier. But despite her mouth was rather spicy, her words really came true to only knocking off two tins and missing a single tin behind. "too bad..." i whined, feeling quite disappointed with not getting the result she wanted.

millie approached, "it's fine, you did your best. There's a lot of games to play~" she cheered, comforting with a few taps on the shoulder. A smile appeared, "yeahh, i had fun-"

my words were cutted as yeonjun came, "haera-ah" taking grip of my hand.

"we have to go now.. our performance is up next!"
