Angélique Ingrid Fournier

Name: Angelique Ingrid Fournier

Nicknames: Elle

Age: 26

Gender: Female

Species: Human

Fairytale: Snow White  (The Evil Queen)

Sexuality: Bisexual

Appearance: Lana del Rey (pictured above). I know you wanted a dark-haired face claim with red streaks, but this character wanted to be a striking redhead. It may be my personal bias. ;)

Personality: This "Evil Queen" is perhaps one of the most wrongly maligned and misunderstood characters in the Faerie Tale Universe. Born a princess in the Enchanted Forest, Angelique was always aware that she was not as beautiful as some, as kind as others, or as shrewd as those who spun webs of lies and devious plots. She grew up an insecure and somewhat awkward child who felt nothing like a Princess, and she imagined that her family was shamed by her lack of feminine graces and natural gifts that usually come with the station.

Instead, Angelique was a more introverted soul, happy with reading, baking delicious sweets, studying music, and appreciating the simple things in life. As she blossomed into a teenager, she began to rebel. Her red hair, dark eyes, and fair skin had always made her feel homely and strange. She began to dress in black, paint her lips red, and line her eyes in the style of Cleopatra. The change made her feel glamorous, intriguing. If she couldn't be a natural beauty, she would learn the art.

Everyone thought she was weird, a strange girl who was turning into a stranger young woman. Yet, when she taught her beautiful friend the power of red lipstick and bright red nails on a pale face, and how to darken her hair and eyes for a more stunning effect---well, SHE became the fairest girl in the land. On top of that, her friend had a certain reputation. Any girl who's with seven guys at once is NOT a Princess.

Angelique tried to accept these slights and judgments with her usual honesty and graciousness. However, when her friend betrayed her and inevitably stole her throne and her place in the world, all because she was a little prettier, a little more ruthless, and a little more like everyone else--Angelique snapped.

Wouldn't you?

Did she really poison that apple? Did she really hire a hitman to take out the friend who destroyed her entire life? No one really knows, but few who know the whole story would blame Angelique if she did.

Angelique never took back her throne and the lifestyle that was meant for her, thinking that she'd be happier as an ordinary woman. However, the resentment and anger never left her, even though she learned to compensate by being extraordinarily kind, compassionate, and accepting of those who are different.

She grew into the glamorous and self-assured woman she always hoped to be, but the damage was done. Perception is everything, and the world had already labelled her "The Evil Queen". Even the antique mirror that used to mock her with all her flaws seemed to turn against her.

She's put the wrongs done to her and the drama of her childhood behind her---or has she? Can anyone really be that good, especially after a lifetime of being labelled evil?

Alliance/Alignment: Chaotic Good

Skills/Powers: She possesses an antique mirror that's a treasured family heirloom, and it shows snippets of her past. She's learning if she asks it, it may also show visions of the future. However, she's not inclined to believe in anything strange or magical. Angelique blames her visions on stress, being overly tired, or her imagination.

Angelique is a talented baker who is an artistic woman in many respects. She's always happy to sing, dance, play an instrument, or just read quietly. In her mind, life is meant to be enjoyed, and so many take simple things for granted.

Weapons: She has an understanding of poisons and toxic herbs, thanks to years growing up in an Enchanted Forest. She is far from violent, and couldn't think about killing anyone or anything. Yet, if you put a bow, a throwing knife, or a gun in her hand--she is a perfect shot.

Cursed Life Information: Angelique's cursed life is almost a relief. She is able to be the person she was always meant to be. She owns the Red Apples Bakery and loves working hard to make others happy. She's largely forgotten the past. She only wants to be loved and accepted for who she is and to make a positive difference in the world. One day, she hopes to find the kind of love that's based on that sort of foundation, and perhaps have a child of her own--but she knows the world is shallow and she won't settle for less.

Theme Song: Madilyn Bailey, "Titanium" (a beautiful cover)

Aesthetics:

Quotes: "Have you ever considered, perhaps, maybe---that I am good? I was always the Queen. It was you who added Evil to my name." -- Regina, "Once Upon A Time"
