Appearance/Faceclaim:
Anya Taylor-Joy
Personality:
Strangely enough, the Goddess of Fire is generally as cool as a cucumber. Aveline is someone who believes in her own ability to make her way in the world, and has difficulty depending on other people for help or support. At the same time, she also refuses to allow others to affect how she feels or how she sees herself. Under no circumstances does she intend to change to suit anyone else, and because of this, she can be a stubborn and uncompromising individual. Aveline holds grudges against not only those who wrong her, but against those she sees as harming other people in being who they are. She is the first to speak up against a bully or a selfish person. The daughter of two strong women, she cannot stand misogyny or the idea of anyone limiting her independence. Those who try who quickly regret it.
Aveline loves and treasures all things beautiful in the world. From her earliest days, she took a keen interest in art, music, and exploring anything new. Whether it's a sunset, a coveted new dress, or the perfect flower, beauty is the key the to this woman's heart. Although she herself is not the traditional beauty, she puts a good deal of time and effort into her appearance. It is generally not to impress others, but because she believes she herself is a canvas for something that has the potential to be memorable. What others may mistake as vanity, she sees only as becoming the type of creation she herself would love.
A slightly introverted daydreamer at heart, Aveline falls in love easily and always believes each time that a connection means an earth-shattering romance for the ages. However, much like her mother, she is prone to falling out of love just as easily. Her tendency toward perfectionism and obsession with the positive, beautiful aspects of life make her the first to walk away as soon as the rose-coloured glasses begin to slip.
Aveline genuinely wants to see the good in others, but the trouble is, other people make it so difficult by having so many flaws.
Though often mistaken for being arrogant or aloof, Aveline is one of the most giving and loving people you'll ever meet. She has a sort of romantic innocence behind her one moment, and the next, she is worldly and cynical. Whatever she feels, does, or creates in the world, she devotes all of her passion and energy to it---and that in itself gives her the strength and certainty to believe she is destined to become an extraordinary person.
Godly Marking:
Aveline has a marking that resembles a tattoo of a dove, with two small hearts linked together on either side, located on her upper thigh.
God Of ? :
Goddess Of Love, Beauty, and Fire
Godly Powers:
* Empathic Manipulation: Aveline is not able to alter anyone's free will, but she is an extremely empathic person who can influence others through a single touch, or even making eye contact for more than 10 seconds. Those affected by this gift will often be inclined to feel as she wishes them to, though the actions they take are still motivated by their own desires. This gift can be used for selfish reasons, such as to command attention or to convince others to agree with her--but can also be used to heal someone's bad day or talk them out of a rash action. Like most gifts, this one can be a double-edged sword.
* Fire Manipulation: Depending on her level of concentration and dedication to doing so, Aveline can conjure a spark to light the way, keep the fireplace burning without getting out of bed, or turn a campfire into a catastrophic event that burns down the houses of her enemies. Her fire-related abilities make her extremely inept around water, and she cannot swim. A cold shower would be a punishment for her.
* Telepathic Bond: Much like her mother, who embodied the goddess Aphrodite, Aveline devotes herself 125% to those she loves. Whether a close friend or a romantic partner, those who grow close to Aveline may realise she has the ability to intrude on their private thoughts, and consequently, they are able to hear hers. While this connection is a special and useful one meant for loved ones to be able to protect each other at every turn in life, it has also turned Aveline into a person who has boundary issues and is easily made jealous, though she denies it. She might be happier if she didn't constantly seek to know every thought in someone else's head, but alas, she's not quite learned that lesson.
* Dreamwalking: Many would assume the Goddess of Love's influence is the sort of things dreams are made of, but in Aveline's case, it is literally true. While the target of this ability is sleeping, she is able to transport herself into their dream world, either as an observer or a participant. However, she cannot erase dreams or keep particularly bad dreams from plaguing someone. In fact, the ability may backfire completely if her goal is to enchant another person, and she ends up trapped in their nightmare. This is an ability Aveline has not yet perfected, and she loves sleep because it's the only opportunity to play with this particular skill.
Gift From The Gods:
Aveline wears a gold pendant of a phoenix rising from the ashes, with sparks of fire represented by tiny rubies and diamonds. It was a gift to her in honour of her mother Hephaestus, and a reminder of her own power and resilience.
