CHAPTER 28 | ORGACORP CRUMBLING
The situation inside OrgaCorp's headquarters had spiraled into chaos. Alarms blared, and the lights flickered in a maddening strobe, casting long shadows across the facility. Systems were glitching—doors malfunctioning, security cameras scrambling. Hacking attempts were flooding the network from every direction.
Neon Apex and Shadow Alliance operatives had infiltrated the building, launching attacks from multiple angles. Their precision was unnerving, and their unpredictability kept the OrgaCorp soldiers on edge. It was a warzone now—one that Renfield wasn't prepared for.
He slammed his fist on the control panel, his fingers dancing across the interface in a desperate attempt to regain some form of control.
"Shin, Kara, everyone—take out the intruders! Stop the breach now!" Renfield barked into his comm, his voice sharp with frustration. He could barely keep up with the endless reports flashing across his screens.
He glanced up at the monitors, watching as the Neon Apex soldiers stormed through the east wing, while the Shadow Alliance agents took to the upper levels. There was no one left to rely on but his own elite forces, and the odds were quickly stacking against them.
The facility was falling apart.
"How did they get in?!" Renfield growled under his breath. His thoughts raced, but there was no time for second-guessing. He had a job to do, and he was going to make sure it got done.
"Shin," he repeated into the comms, this time with more urgency, "focus on the intruders. All of them. The other agents can't handle this without backup."
Renfield then switched channels, his hands flying across the console as he accessed Kara's sniper feeds.
"Kara, we have a situation here. Neon Apex, Shadow Alliance, and hacking attempts from god knows where. We need to clear them out, now!"
The screens around him filled with chaos. He saw the two from Neon Apex—Ryder and Alyssa—fighting through the lower levels, taking out guards with ease. Renfield's jaw clenched.
As for the others... the glitches in the system were far worse than he'd anticipated. Panic was setting in across the building.
The OrgaCorp soldiers were disoriented, firing at anything that moved. Some were still trying to reach their posts, others were running in the opposite direction, unsure of who or what they were supposed to target. The whole building had descended into an unpredictable frenzy.
In the midst of it all, Shin moved silently, effortlessly slipping through the shadows, his presence almost invisible as he navigated the chaos. He'd follow orders, but the unpredictability of the moment gave him an odd sense of satisfaction.
He had no particular interest in the Neon Apex agents, but the ones from Shadow Alliance? They seemed worth his time.
Meanwhile, in the distance, Kara's sniper scope focused on a target. She exhaled slowly, finding her mark. She was always cool under pressure, but even she had to admit—this was a mess.
A sudden explosion rocked the lower levels, shaking the entire building. The facility groaned under the strain. Renfield cursed as the power flickered once again. If they didn't regain control soon, there would be nothing left to salvage.
Renfield's eyes narrowed as he heard a new voice crackle in through his comms. "Renfield, this is Kara. The building's coming apart. I've got eyes on one of the Shadow Alliance agents. They're coming your way."
Renfield glanced at his screens, seeing the chaos from all sides. It was getting harder to differentiate who was who, as allies and enemies collided in the madness.
"Kara, Shin—handle them. NOW," Renfield ordered, a cold edge to his voice. "Everyone's on high alert. If we don't secure this building, we'll all be compromised."
Then, a blip on his radar caught his attention: Julian, the one who took the files for Project Genesis. And now he was closing in, taking down OrgaCorp soldiers. The one who he ordered Silver Fox down. He was truly a threat.
Shin stands in the heart of the crumbling warehouse, blades flashing as he slashes through the Shadow Alliance soldiers. His movements are a blur of deadly precision, each strike a dance of calculated destruction. He's surrounded—his enemies are everywhere, but he remains unphased, slicing through their ranks like a whirlwind of death. Blood splatters, bodies hit the floor, and the clanging of swords echoes off the walls.
A Neon Apex soldier lunges at him with a bladed baton, but Shin sidesteps, slicing through the man's torso before his body even hits the ground. Another comes at him from behind, but Shin spins, his sword cutting clean through the air, severing the soldier's arm before he can land a blow.
Kara, perched atop the rooftop of a nearby building, is calm amidst the madness. Her sniper rifle gleams in the dim light, and she takes out one soldier after another with ruthless efficiency. A shot rings out, and a Shadow Alliance soldier's head explodes like a watermelon under a hammer.
"One down," she mutters under her breath, her voice cool and detached despite the bloody scene below. Her eyes flick to the chaos unfolding in the street below, a smirk tugging at her lips. "This is a bloody mess, alright."
She zooms in on a Neon Apex soldier aiming at Shin from behind, taking him out with a single, perfect shot. Shin's eyes narrow as he turns to acknowledge the unexpected support, his lips curling into a brief, deadly smile. The battlefield is his stage, but even a master needs a little help sometimes.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the building, Alyssa and her team of reckless, unpredictable soldiers are making their own kind of chaos. Alyssa's laugh cuts through the air like the sound of nails scraping across a chalkboard. She's covered in blood, and the intensity in her eyes is pure madness. She's not just fighting—she's reveling in the bloodshed, shooting, stabbing, and kicking her way through the OrgaCorp forces with wild abandon.
"Keep up, slowpokes!" Alyssa yells, tossing a grenade at a group of OrgaCorp soldiers who are trying to flank her. The explosion rips through the air, sending debris and body parts flying in every direction. Her team follows her lead, guns blazing, taking down OrgaCorp's finest without hesitation.
It's an all-out warzone. The sounds of gunfire, explosions, and clashing swords fill the air, drowning out everything else. Neon Apex and Shadow Alliance soldiers are falling in heaps, and OrgaCorp's troops are caught in the middle of it all, firing back, but hopelessly outmatched by the relentless assault.
And in the midst of it all, Shin stands like a demon, a blood-soaked god in the storm, with a look of determination as sharp as his blade.
