Pulling the comfortable blue sweater close to her. Katie stands in front of the LaRusso audio dealership. She was quite nervous considering her social anxiety wasn't the best since she was a kid. And would often bring someone with her, if the place was crowded with people.
Deciding to get out of her comfort zone, even if it's something small like this, was a big deal to her. She was willing to try and conquer her fears and start doing things alone more. Katie wanted to be strong, just like Johnny had said in his speech, though her problem wasn't karate related. The wise words from a coarse man like Johnny Lawerence, inspired the girl.
With a heavy inhale and exhale out, Katie walks to the entrance of the building that is covered in glass. Seeing the customers looking at the expensive cars. She walks in, her eyes directly looking around in hopes of finding the familiar person she came here to see.
Thinking about asking the front desk lady. Katie starts heading that way, but without warning, a man wearing a luxury looking suit pops out of nowhere. Making Katie jump in surprise, her hand resting over her heart.
" Sorry little lady didn't mean to scare you there" The man chuckled, seeing Katie took a breath to calm herself down. " Have you heard of our deals, they're really legit, here I'll tell you all about them" The man started rambling on about the sales and what they offer.
Katie tried to speak up, but couldn't as the ignorant man continued to talk without acknowledging how uncomfortable Katie grew. " Did you know I'm the cousin of the grand champion?" He asked Katie and she awkwardly nodded at him. Even though she had no clue who the person standing in front of her was.
" I'm sorry, is this man bothering you?" Another man steps in, wearing the same colored suit. Katie mentally sighed feeling relieved. Still anxious she grips the blue sweater in her hands, for comfort. " Anoush I'm trying to persuade her into buying a car, as a matter of fact are you sixteen?"
"And what you're actually doing is scaring the poor thing with your endless squawking." The man named Anoush said to the other who looked visibly offended.
"Did someone piss in your coffee this morning or was it that girl from last night-"
The Wilson girl couldn't help, but roll her eyes as the grown men argued with each other. She gives one last comfort squeeze to the soft fabric that she held close to her before intervening. " Can you two please stop arguing? I'm here to look for Robby" She spoke up and the pair stopped their bickering and looked at her.
" Our apologies, can you please repeat what you said?" Anoush said with a smile, " I'm Louie by the way" The other man inputs, giving her a subtle nod.
" Is Robby here?" Katie asked Anoush who looked rather surprised, while Louie had a frown on his face. "What do you want with the new kid?" Louie asked Katie and she kindly ignored him, giving her attention to Anoush.
" Oh wait! Are you his girlfriend??" Louie exclaimed, pointing at Katie as she blushed at what he said. Anoush shook his head looking tiresome, " Robby is actually here right now, If you want I can get somebody to go get him" He offered.
Katie declined, waving her hand, " I actually have somewhere else to be, can you just give this to him, please?" She said, gesturing to the dark clothing in hand. He hesitantly agrees and Katie hands it over to him. "Thank you" She tells Anoush with a smile.
" Why couldn't she ask me to give it to him?" Louie mumbled underneath his breath and Katie held back her laugh. " I'll make sure this gets to him, you have a good day...?" Anuosh trails off, implying her name.
" Katie" She said, " Have a good day Katie" Anuosh bids her and Katie nods, turning to walk away, not before looking at Louie who looked a bit sad at being left out. A small laugh slipped out of her lips as she waved goodbye to them and made her exit out the door.
"You saw that right? She snickered at me" Louie complained, and Katie laughed more as she walked out the building. Feeling proud of herself, for starting to get out of her comfort zone.

Walking in the hallway at school, Katie stops by her locker and puts in her combination before opening it. Organizing her books for her next class, while doing that she hears her phone 'ding' from her back pocket. Frowning, she reaches and takes out her phone, looking at it.
A smile is quickly spread across her face when she reads the name 'Robby' on her screen. Leaning on her locker, Katie opens the text, reading that he has gotten his sweater.
" Katie!" Miguel yelled out as he hurriedly walked towards her way. She quickly texted a reply back to Robby and shoved her phone back into her pocket.
"Did she say yes? What did you say to her first?" Katie asked him as he let out a huff, a grin plastering on his face. Already knowing the answer from how happy he is, Katie gushed.
" Awe Miguel!" She jumped up and down, happy for her friend. " So tell me what happened?" Katie bumps her fist to his arm and he smiles looking down.
"Technically he didn't say yes" Miguel stated and Katie looked at him in disbelief, but the boy backtracked his words " As friends, we're going as friends"
Katie squinted her eyes at him, " Not a date?" She asked and he nodded, " Not a date" He confirmed, but was still smiling at the thought. This made Katie playfully roll her eyes as she slammed her locker shut.
" But you're going to treat it like one are you?" She said as they walked away, side by side with each other.
Miguel tried protesting, but failed miserably making Katie let out a snicker. "Question, how come she said no in the first place?" She looked at him while they headed up the stairs of the school.
" She said she wasn't ready after the whole Kyler situation" He frowned, and Katie nodded in understanding, giving a pat on his shoulder. " Don't worry Miggy, I see the way Sam looks at you and before you know it you'll guys be dating in no time" She tried cheering him up, making the boy smile at the thought. " Thanks Katie"
As they both had gotten to the top of the stairs, they parted ways to go to each other's classes. Not before giving each other a high five for Miguel's half successful plan on asking out Sam.

Lights of the colored stars danced along the walls in Katie's room as she was at her desk doing her homework. With nothing much to do tonight with everyone having their own plans, like Miguel having his 'not a date' with Sam. Eli and Demetri having their video game night, the two usually have. And Mia doing whatever Mia's usually doing.
Katie had no clue on what her older sister does all the time, and when she questions her whereabouts. Mia would always tell her to ' mind your business'. The Wilson girl was used to it and by now wouldn't ask her sister anything. Katie felt that her sister didn't need her help or at least she assumed.
Mia could take care of herself and Katie knew that, so on this very late afternoon. Mia was home as well, in her room blasting music and talking loudly on the phone with someone.
Looking over her shoulder here and there as she heard shouts coming from across the hallway. Katie heard a big 'fuck you' and the everything went silent. The blaring music stopped, making Katie drop her pencil as she heard Mia's door open and fasten footsteps treading towards her room.
Bursting through Katie's door, making her lightly flinch and slowly turn herself on the rolly chair. Her sight is set on Mia, having a pissed off look on her face. "Hey Mia" Katie said to her, having a small smile on, trying to ease the tension her sister is sharing.
Fidgeting with her hands and smile disappearing, Katie sees Mia's cold aura not leaving her side. " Get your ass up bug, we're going to the store" Was all that was said to Katie as Mia left the door frame. Seeing her sister head downstairs from the glimpse of it, Katie sighs and gets up from her chair.
Grabbing her jacket that was laying on her bed, she put it on and dragged herself out of her room. Heading down the stairs, Charlotte is seen gathering her stuff as well. Dressed in all blue scrubs for work.
" Mom, what are you doing?" Katie asks confused, stepping off the last step and walked towards her.
Charlotte sighs and looks at her daughter with tired eyes. " Short staffed again, I'm doing a double shift tonight" She says, giving a side smile and cupping her daughter's cheek.
Katie gives a much needed hug to her mother who gladly accepts it. " Don't overwork yourself mom" She whispered, feeling worried for her mother's wellbeing. Her mother pulled back and gave her a reassuring smile.
" I'll be fine pumpkin, okay?" She told Katie, fixing her hair that now has grown a bit below her shoulders. Smiling, she grabs her purse and water bottle that is filled with ice tea.
" Have you seen Mia?" Katie questions as they both leave the kitchen and walk into the narrow hallway. Charlotte nods, taking a sip of her iced drink. " She looked like she was in a hurry, all I got out of her was that she's heading to the store"
" We are heading to the store" Katie corrected her sister's words to their mother, as she grabbed her car keys from the hook of the board on the wall. " Really? Get me some Sugar Babies while you guys are there" Charlotte exclaimed and Katie inclined and they both headed out the door.
In the front driveway, Katie could see Mia impatiently waiting inside her white car with the engine running. Speed walking to the passenger side, both girls wave to their mother and Katie opens the door, climbing inside. After the door shuts behind her, Mia wasted no time reversing and driving out of their neighborhood.
Random music was playing smoothly, preceding itself as background noise. Katie took a glance at her sister, who was bobbing her head to the radio, her thumbs taping the steering wheel. The younger sat there looking at the window, watching everything pass her in the valley. As Mia stopped at a red light, Katie thought for a moment, debating if she should break the silence between them. " Mia?" She chirped, seeing Mia through her peripheral vision, look at her.
"What?" She answered, pressing the gas when the light turned green. Her tone wasn't agitated anyone and this was a good sign for Katie to ask what made her sister so mad earlier. " Are you okay, mighty?" Katie asked, cornered.
Hearing her sister let out a sigh as she parked the car, in the parking lot of the local store by their house. Katie sees her turn off the car and lay back in her seat, with a blank stare.
Katie puts her hand on top of her sister that is on her lap. Giving it a small squeeze to bring her some comfort in a way that doesn't make Mia feel uncomfortable. " You can tell me Mia," She whispered.
Retracting her hand from Mia, the older lets out a huff and turns to look at Katie with glossy eyes. " I've been having a hard time lately that's all" She murmured, gazing at her steering wheel. " The friends I thought I had, weren't the people I thought they were" Sniffing, she harshly wipes her tears and rests her head on the wheel.
It's been awhile since Katie heard her sister speak this softly before. The difference between the pair is that Mia lets out the emotions from the inside. Easing the tension from it building up like a volcano, while Katie on the other hand. Has a hard time getting everything out in the open.
Katie hasn't cried in years despite everything she's endured, crying was simply not an option for her. Therapy couldn't even heal half of what life has thrown at her. She felt like her feet were in cement, never moving forward and always getting left behind.
" I'm I a terrible person, bug?" Mia's hoarse voice, drew Katie out from her thoughts, " Why do you say that?" She questions the crying girl with a scowl. Turning herself in her seat to face her sister better. Mia sniffs and wipes her nose on her sleeve. " Because of how I act, I'm not friendly, I have anger issues and the people in my life always seem to backstab me"
Katie looked at her with saddened eyes, " I like you" She said quietly and Mia rolled her eyes. " Yeah cause you're my sister" The older points out, leaning back into her seat with a distant stare in front of them.
" Miguel likes you" Katie presses, " Ashia, Eli and your Sensei which I'm not surprised" She laughs a little, but notices her sister not laughing along with her.
" Nothing is wrong you Mia, you're not hurting anyone, and you're not a terrible person" Katie says firmly, trying to get her words implanted into her sister's head. " Nothing in this world would want to make mom and I, change anything about you, because your personality is what makes you Mia" She states. " Whatever your friends did or say to you, aren't really your friends and that's very shitty of them" Katie leaned her shoulder into her seat as Mia snorted into her hand. Trying hard not to laugh, but fails.
" What?" Katie says confused, and Mia laughs harder, repeatedly hitting the steering wheel.
" You're cursing, sounds funny" Mia tells her, the erupts of laughter dying down. "Really that's all you got out of what I said?" The younger shook her head, but a smile still creeps up on her face.
" But I'm serious though, you don't need them, one day you'll find someone who makes you happy and let yourself be you around them" Katie stated in a more serious tone.
Mia sets up straight and fixes herself in the rear view mirror " I hope so", She responded, wiping the mascara from underneath her eyes.
" You know you can tell me anything right?" Katie watches her sister, wipe her dried tears from her face before looking at her. "That's what mom had told me" Mia said, averting eyes for a second, then nodding to Katie " But I will, thanks bug". Smiling, Katie leans forward and briefly hugs her sister, who stood still in her grasp, not knowing what to do.
The curly haired girl, gets an awkward pat on the head, once she pulls away from the one sided hug that was shared. " Mom wants us to get her some Sugar Babies" The younger Wilson voices out, as they both get ready to head out of Mia's car.
" Oh! And we can have a movie night when she gets back, I'll get some popcorn while we're in there" Mia happily said, this making Katie smile and she pulls the handle to the door, to let herself out.
" Katie wait" Mia's unexpected change in tone, made Katie stop from getting out, "Mia what's wrong?" She asked, shutting the door closed. Seeing Mia eyebrows furrow, looking down at her phone. Leaning forward, Katie could see the blue text messages that were sent to her sister.
Briskly putting her phone down, Mia had a panic expression on her face as she started the car. " Mia what are you doing?" Kaite calls out to her, feeling the anxiety slowly arise. " Is mom okay?"
Desperately trying to get answers that Mia purposely is ignoring, Katie attempts to ask again, but with panic,
" Mia you're scaring me, is it about mom? Is she okay-"
" Shut up Katie!" Mia exclaimed, interrupting Katie as she drove out of the parking lot and onto the highway.
" It's not about mom," She added, driving further with determined eyes on the road.
Sighing in relief that it wasn't their mother that had Mia suddenly all worked up. Katie puts her seatbelt on, still on edge. " I saw the texts, What did it say Mia?" She pressed further, giving her sister a scared look.
" Can you just shut up for a second? I'm trying to think" Mia spat out flusteredly, as she turned and drove to a familiar route that Katie knew too well.
" Mia, why are we driving to LaRusso Auto?"
Without saying anything and keeping her eyes on the road, she drives up to the empty parking lot. Hastily putting her car in park, she leaves the engine running as she opens the door.
Getting out, Mia gives a hard look to Katie, who looks back at her, confused. " Stay here, got it?" Without hearing Katie reply back to her, Mia harshly slams the door and sprints behind her car. Heading to the back of the dealership.
Katie unbuckles herself and turns around, just in time to see Mia disappear behind the building. Facing forward, Katie brings her head into her hands, conflicted on getting out of the car and following her sister. Her heart beating in her ears, echoing out all the sound coming from the outside of the vehicle.
She looks up in front of her, and from the corner of her eye, she sees the keys dangling from the ignition on the effects of Mia slamming the door. Katie's mind went blank and the adrenaline kicked in her system as she reached and snatched the keys, having the car stop running.
Letting out a shaky breath, she opens the door and steps out, hesitantly closing it. Katie starts to speed walk to the direction her sister went to. It had gotten dark outside and the passing cars of the nearby road had Katie hoping no one had seen anything.
Turning the corner, Katie sees the green bushes, line up against the cement wall and at the end, she sees Mia. Leaning herself against the shrub, peeking at the edge of the wall on the other side.
" Mia" Katie whispered to her sister as she slowly made her way in her path. Mia turns around in horror, her vision settling on Katie who is a few feet away. " Katie what the fuck? I told you to stay in the car,"
The younger shakes her head, standing by Mia. " That's not the point Mia, we need to leave before we get caught-"
" Where the hell is he at?"
A voice spoke up from behind the wall where the sisters were hiding from. Mia puts her hand over Katie's mouth, " Don't say a word, we can't let them know that we're here" She said in a hushed tone, letting Katie go. Making eye contact with her sister, she obliged and crept up beside Mia.
" I'm right here" Katie's eyes widened as she saw Robby standing in front of two familiar guys. Who she saw months ago at the skatepark, where she first found shadow.
" Hey don't be sneaking up on me like that man" The one with the long hair, grasped his chest.
" It's good man, what's up bro" The other guy with a backwards cap said, to Robby with a snarky smile.
" Who are they?" Katie whispered, more to herself as she moved in more to get a good look at them. " Trey and Cruz'' Mia whispered back, her eyes not leaving the three guys that were standing there. Katie looked at her confused as to how she knows who they are.
" You got the code?"
" Yeah I got it" Robby said, his face showing no emotion. " I told you my boy would come through" Trey exclaimed to Cruz, who shook his head, noticing Robby not having the same excitement as them.
" What are you waiting for? Let's do it, where's the code?"
" I can't" Robby told them and Katie saw Mia roll her eyes at that. " Can't what? Remember the code?" Cruz asked.
" Sorry I mean I won't. I always get those two confused" Robby says, standing his ground to his friends.
"Such a dumbass" Mia grumbles and Katie looks worriedly at Robby, as the conversation goes downhill.
" Just open the goddamn door" Trey pleads, " It's not gonna happen" The Keene boy snapped at him, " He's really gonna make me have to do this?" Trey turns around briefly to face Crez before turning back to aim a punch to Robby, who dodged the attempted hit with his arm.
" Ooh, what ninja boy teach you some karate or something" Cruz laughs as Trey throws another punch at Robby who easily blocks. Then he grabs Robby by the shirt, swinging him over so Cruz can get to him.
Robby ducks as Cruz tries to throw a hit his way, blocking the blows that are coming by the both of them. As the fight continues, Robby kicks, punches and blocks as they try to attempt to attack on his path.
Pushing Trey to the side, Robby is kicked in the stomach by Cruz, his body falling in the arms of Trey. Swinging his leg, he hits Cruz and struggles to get out of Trey's hold.
" Mia you have to do something" Katie says in distress, eyeing her sister who watches the fight in amusement.
The older Wilson lets out an airy laugh when Trey goes to land a punch to Robby. But the Keene boy pushes Cruz at the last second, making Trey hit him square in the face.
" Oh! Dude you good?"
" Watch it bro" Crez yells out to him as gets up from the ground.
Robby and Trey get into again, only leading to Trey getting thrown over by Robby, leading him straight to the ground.
" Mia it's not funny" Katie expresses to her sister in concern as the fight went on.
"Ugh, Bug you're such a party pooper" She tells Katie, waving her off, "It's actually hilarious how Dora here can't even sharpen his moves, there so sloppy" Mia snorted and Katie gasped when Robby gets punched in the stomach repeatedly, before getting shoved to the ground.
Trey and Cruz laugh as Robby crawls to the corner of the wall, trapped by the two men. " Nowhere to run"
" Nowhere to hide" Robby tells the both of them, and points to the camera from above.
Katie glances at the camera that is blinking red, " Oh no" She whispers that to herself.
" You better watch your ass," Cruz threatens with a shaky voice at Robby, as he walks off. Trey gives one last glance to the camera then at the Keene boy before running off with the other.
Robby lets out a breath of relief when he sees them out of sight, taking a moment to reflect on what happened. Not knowing there are a pair of girls watching him, from the bushes. Katie uses this opportunity to show herself to Robby, she walks around Mia, who is in front of her.
Not even taking a step out from her spot, Mia stops her, giving Katie a sly smile and silently telling her to stay where she is. Having no choice, Katie listens and takes over Mia's place as the older stepped out of hiding.
" You got some moves Dora, I'll give you that" Mia speaks out, walking towards the boy who didn't look so surprised to see her here. Letting out a displeased chuckle, Robby gets up from the ground followed by a grunt leaving his lips.
Mia walks closer to Robby and attempts to help him stand, only for him to push her efforts away. He stands up, leaning his hand on the wall, " I got it from here Mia" He tells her and pushes himself off the wall.
Chuckling, Mia takes several steps back from him and shrugs innocently, " Just trying to be nice" She smiles, but only the people who have crossed paths with the girl, know not to believe such a confession. As for Robby Keene, he didn't believe a word she said, and always kept his guard up.
" Yeah and look what happened after that" He said, annoyed, staring at her with pure dislike in his eyes. Remembering a memory of when they first met. This only made Mia laugh and cross her arms at him, also having the same expression.
" How do you guys know each other?"
Katie's voice breaks out the staring contest the two were having and Robby looks at her wide eyed. " Katie" He says panicked, not knowing why she was here.
" Do you want to tell her? Or should I?" Mia questions Robby, who takes another glance at Katie, then keeps his stare to the ground. " I used to hang around those guys," He started. " We'd steal things, sell them and scam people for money" Robby took the courage to look Katie in the eyes again, only to see her nodding for him to continue.
" Situations similar to this, led me into knowing your sister. She'd also do these things, except stealing" Robby added the last part and Katie saw Mia confirm it with a nod. " So that's why I'm here, as you guys saw earlier on what ended up happening" He finished with a sigh, nervously waiting on what Katie would say about the situation.
However, Katie's lips curl into a smile, surprising the two. " You kicked ass Robby" She told him and Robby's worried frown slowly turned into a grin. The negative thoughts vanish away as he stares at the girl in front of him.
The younger Wilson hears Mia scoff from her spot, making the two look at her. " Are you seriously going to let this slide?" She asks her younger sister in disbelief.
" Robby told the truth Mia, there's no reason to get mad at him for something, he prevented from happening" Katie argued back to her sister, confused as to why Mia cares so much.
" He's a criminal Katie!" Mia yelled, trying to get some sense to the curly headed, who disagreed. " So what he did was bad, but your involvement in it is better?" She told her firmly.
The younger Wilson could see the irritation in her sister, and as expected, Mia walked right past Katie, away from the question she hated to admit too. " Why are you still standing there? Are you coming or not?" Mia said, turning herself to face Katie. Realizing her sister wasn't following her.
" Not if Robby doesn't come with us" Katie said, gesturing towards Robby who stood there watching the two argue.
" You're pushing it Katie, I'm not giving him a ride just because you like him" Mia gave Robby a hard glare before taking a step closer to Katie.
Briefly looking at the ground, Katie could feel her face starting to flush at Mia's comment. " I don't like him, Mia, not like that. Robby is my friend and right now he needs a ride home" She says, looking at Mia in the eye, pleading to agree with her.
To Katie's dismay, Mia shakes her head once more and motions for her keys. " Katie, I'm seriously going to leave you here if don't come with me"
Robby clears his throat awkwardly, " Katie you should go, I'll be okay going home" He intervenes, trying to ease the tension between the two. " No, I'm not leaving without him. '' She told Mia stubbornly and who let out a stressed sigh before harshly yanking out the keys from her hand and looked at Robby angrily.
" You" She pointed at him, " If you do any funny business while I drive you home-"
" Mia I don't need you to drive me home, I can handle-"
" Can you shut up?!" Mia shouted at him, making Robby lick his lips, more annyond at the fact of having to cause a fight between the two. " I guarantee my dislike towards you is very obvious from the start when we first met"
The older Wilson give sKatie a look before making her point to Robby. " But that doesn't mean I'm leaving my sister here, especially with the likes of you" Mia spat out, her voice pure of contempt.
" Let's get the fuck out of here" Mia told the two and walks away, heading towards her car. Kaite sighed in relief and looked at Robby who is deep in thought.
" Are you okay?" Katie voices out, to which made Robby look at her with a face full of guilt.
" I'm sorry you guys argued because of me" He told her, and Katie shook her head, " Robby don't be, you're my friend and I want to help you because that's what friends do" Katie said, staring at his green eyes.
" Katie! Hurry up or I'm actually leaving you here!"
Getting out of the trance that Robby's beautiful eyes pulled her in. Katie smiles at him and motions her head in front of them. Robby returned the smile, his chest feeling warm at the comfort of her as they both walked towards the car, feeling closer than before.
