Newt returned to his room and fell asleep. A few hours later, he woke up and got out of bed. Then, he noticed a letter on the desk.

It was from Tina.

Newt nervously tore it open, his hands trembling. Was the letter about how Tina had forgiven him? Or how she never wanted to see him ever again?

He took a shaky breath and tried to mentally prepare himself. Newt started to read.

Newt,

The letter that you gave me... I don't know how to feel about it. It was interesting to learn about your past. I was reading it and reading it, and finally I thought, "Newt, just get to the point."

Then, I got to the kissing part. I read about what you did from your perspective. Even if you wanted to pull away, you shouldn't have let her kiss you in the first place.

But Newt, I could feel you. I could feel your emotions spill out onto the page. Your sadness, your anger, your love. You said such nice things about me, that I was brave and kind and beautiful.

I decided, "You know, despite what he did, I still love him. I wouldn't be where I am now without him."

So, I am accepting your apology. Things aren't magically made better now. We still have to work some things out.

But thank you. I hope we can put this behind us and move farther in our relationship.
