Chapter Ten

After letting the jet-black ink dry, Newt folded up the letter and tucked it inside the package that had his book, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Picking up the gift, he left his bedroom to find Tina's room. He had never been in there before, so Newt didn't know what to expect.

Newt stopped in front of a dark wooden door that had Tina engraved in fancy letters. Tina wasn't home, so hopefully she wouldn't find him in here.

Taking a deep breath, Newt entered.

Hastily closing the door behind him, Newt looked around. It was messy, but in a good way. Books lay on every surface. Her room was hidden beneath all the books! It was practically a library.

Newt made his way through piles and piles of books. Some were large and thin, others small but fat. He bent down and picked one up called One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi.

He leafed through it for a moment, and then set it down to pick up Quidditch Through the Ages. Newt spent a while looking through this one. It was so interesting! Even he hadn't known that the golden snitch had come from the Golden Snidget, a round little golden bird that people had used to play Quidditch with in the older days.

Newt gasped, realizing how much time he had wasted. He had to hurry before Tina caught him here!

Finally, he reached what he thought was Tina's bed. Moving the stack of books littering the bed to the nightstand, he set his package down.

Newt wondered if Tina would even see the package, as it was a book. It might blend right in.

Smoothing the wrinkles on Tina's soft blue coverlet, Newt took one last look, and left the room. He hoped that Tina would find his letter and come to some sort of forgiveness.
