Chapter Two

As Tina unlocked the door to the building, she hastily glanced around, and then beckoned for Newt to follow. "That you, Tina?" Mrs. Esposito called from the adjacent room. "Yes, Mrs. Esposito!" Tina replied. "Are you alone?" Mrs. Esposito asked. "I'm always alone, Mrs. Esposito!" Tina said, sighing.

Newt and Tina silently crept up the stairs. Once they got to Tina and Queenie's apartment room, they let themselves in. Jacob Kowalski and Queenie Goldstein were sitting at the kitchen table.

The moment they saw Newt, grins broke out on their faces and everyone hugged. "Newt, it's so good to see you!" Queenie squealed. "Well, Newt," Jacob said. "It's been a while." The men grinned, chucked, and then shook hands.

"Do come and sit down, Newt, dinner is ready." Queenie waved her wand and a delicious looking dinner landed gently on the table. "Now, I did make some strudel for later, as Jacob loves it, don't you honey?" She smiled at him. As she was a legilmens, there was no need for Jacob to say a word.

Through dinner, the four of them talked and laughed, reliving the memories of their previous adventures. Pickett even let Queenie hold him! Perhaps there was hope for Pickett's attachment issues after all.

Once they had all finished the delicious dinner and Queenie had put the dishwashing charm on the plates, Tina pulled Newt aside. "May I show you something?" She asked. "Of course," replied Newt.

The two of them walked back into the kitchen. "Newt and I are going somewhere. I have something to show him. We won't be long." Queenie nodded and winked. "Take your time." Tina led Newt to a nearby street corner, where they disapparated.
