I DON'T SPEAK RUSSIAN!

also known as : chapter six - e pluribus unum

Silver grunted, cursing under her breath as she pulled herself round the corner, the air vents tight around her body. Worried about Steve and Robin, she didn't really question Dustin and Erica when they said to follow them through the air vents. But with her brother's ass wiggling in her face, she started to doubt the mess they had all gotten themselves into. Maybe they should have tried to contact Hopper, or someone to come an help with these deadly Russians that threatened their lives.

Dustin came to a sudden stop with no warning, making Silver bump into his butt with a groan, pushing him away. "Really Dustin? You couldn't have at least warned me? I mean, it's disgusting." Erica snorted while Dustin ignored her comment, focusing on their current problem. "We're going to have to deactivate these fans if we're going to get past them."

"Well, what are you waiting for?" Erica retorted, crossing her arms over her chest impatiently. Dustin rolled his eyes but started to work on the cables next to the fans. Silver leaned against the wall, wincing at the pain on her shoulder. She concentrated on getting in a comfortable position, beads of sweat dripping down her forehead. She let out a relief sigh, Erica's intense gaze on her. "And what happened to you?"

The corner of Silver's lips tugged upwards, knowing she probably looked awful and exhausted. "Well, it turns out the Mind Flayer is back and is posessing a bunch of people, including Billy, Max's brother. Oh, and it can turn into these monster made of organs and stuff." Erica scrunched her nose in disgust as Dustin widened his eyes, slightly stopping working. "What? Please tell me you're joking." a look at her bruises and fresh scratches told him she wasn't joking.

"Wait, is that the monster you told me about before? I still can't believe Lucas is involved in this." Erica muttered the last bit, not believing her nerd of a brother had helped save the town of Hawkins. Dustin got back into the cables, leaving the questioning until after they saved Steve and Robin. Finally, the fans came to a stop, making it able to get through the small vents. It wasn't long until they came to a dead end and a latch above them.

She wrapped her fingers as she climbed out, flinching at the bright lights that her eyes took a few seconds to adjust to. Closing the latch behind her, she stood up and found herself stood in a white room, hundreds of flasks filled with bright green liquid. She flicked one of the flasks with her finger, a loud clink resounding around the white room. "I wonder what this is." she muttered, shaking it around.

"We haven't got a lot of time before a guard comes around." Dustin climbed out of the vents, giving a helping hand to Erica, who pushed it away and climbed out herself. "I can help myself, thank you." she retorted, dusting off her bright yellow shirt. "What do you think they'll do to us if they find us?" Silver asked curiously, setting the flask down. "Nothing good, I assume. Why else would they kidnap Steve and Robin?"

Silver shrugged, hearing a distant weird noise. She shushed the two kids, concentrating on the sound, trying to figure out whether it was nearby. Muffled voices approached the room, the trio widening their eyes as they looked each other. Looking around, there wasn't hardly any room to hide besides at the back, unless someone distracted the guards. Silver pushed Dustin and Erica into the back, crouching slightly to get to their height.

"Okay listen to me. Whatever happens, do not come out until they're gone, okay?" she harshly whispered, the voices getting louder. Dustin frowned, a worried glaze in his eyes as he shook his head. "No! We won't let you sacrifice yourself for us!" Erica seemed to agree, but more for herself than for Silver. "Yeah, don't leave me with this dingus!" Silver shushed them again, the voices rounding around the corner as Silver separated herself from them.

The two guards stopped talking, looking at the guilty-looking girl in the middle of the room. They stood for a few seconds perplexed before grabbing their guns and pointed it at her. Silver widened her eyes, slightly paling as she threw her arms in the air to show no harm. Last thing she needed was to get shot. They shouted something in Russian, the language foreign to her ears. "Okay, I don't speak Russian!"

The guards looked at each other, confusion sketched on their rough faces before they approached her with caution, grabbing her roughly by her arms and pushing her along. "Hey! Let me go!" Silver tried wrestling free, shaking their unrelentless grips on her with no avail.

And she feared what was about to become.

After two hours of unrelentless screaming, Silver's throat felt sore. The guards had strapped her to a chair and left her there, with no idea how much time or whether the others were safe. Or getting help. She screamed again, wrestling against the chains wrapped around her wrists, the metal digging into her skin as they drew some blood. She groaned, leaning her head back, peeling her eyes open as she tried not to fall asleep. She looked around the ceilings, trying to spot any cameras.

She finally observed her surroundings. The room wasn't small, but cramped with so many different machines and tools that it felt claustrophobic. A big tank of bubbling water took the most amount of space, big tubes strapped into the tank. Silver shuddered, dragging her eyes away as the metal door creaked open and three burly men entered, one wearing a lab coat and the other two wearing dark green uniforms. Her eyes spotted the guns strapped to their waist, gulping.

"Finally! I was starting to think I was going crazy." none of the three answered, and instead whispered between themselves, glancing between Silver and the water tank. Silver raised her eyebrows, pulling at the restraints again. "Helloo? It's rather rude not to answer the guest." They finally looked at her, and the one wearing the lab coat approached.

"I assume you accompany the two spies." Silver frowned confused, then gasped, knowing he meant Steve and Robin. "What? They're not spies, they work for Scoops Ahoy." his hand struck her face, making Silver slightly gasp in shock as her cheek turned red. "What the hell, dude? Let go of me and we'll make this fight fair." Silver pulled at her restraints again, making the Russian chuckle amused.

"Ah, Americans. Such animals." Silver watched him as he shouted something at the two guards, who approached with small keys. "Well, seeing as neither of the three care to share any information, we might as well experiment on the new one." he nodded at the guards, who let go of her chains, only to grab her by the arms and pull her to the tank.

"Okay, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to experiment on someone without their consent." she rambled on nervously, the two guards pressing tubes into her head and elevated her above the tank. Silver struggled against their grip, fear increasing as she looked down at the deep dark water. "Please! I swear, if you let us leave we won't say anything!"

They ducked her in, and soon her body was under. She hit the freezing water, her clothes dragging her to the bottom. She attempted to scream in fear, the water entering and making her lungs feel like they caught fire. She banged her hands on the glass, watching as the Russians grins faded, black dots swimming in her vision.

And soon she was gone.
