THERE WAS something about the life that Alora Ceydea lived that dissatisfied her greatly. She had everything that she would ever want and desire, and yet there was this lingering feeling that something was missing. She was a young woman sheltered from the world, her family telling her that it was for her safety from when she was a child. Alora was never told why, just told to stay quiet and smile- be the symbol that the planet needed in this time of darkness.

That was, until her parents were killed on a 'diplomatic mission' to Naboo.

Suddenly, Alora is thrust into a world that she never knew existed- one of the Rebellion, Jedi, Generals and more. A world that she never envisioned herself in, the politics and war something that was the last thought on the youngest Ceydea's mind. Her dreams of adventuring the world and living freely shifted into the reality of war-- with unforgivable loss, the consequences of sacrifice, and the other carnage of war that the Rebellion brings alongside it. 

But her dreams were simply that, a reality. And it takes an assassination attempt to jolt the young Ceydea into realizing that sometimes the best course of action is to take things into your own hands, and stop expecting people (like the Empire and the Rebellion) to ever figure out your shit for you. 

Luke Skywalker was a Jedi with the most unconventional of lives and the epitome of what a picture perfect Jedi shouldn't be. He had been lost, dazed, and confused since he had lost his hand and discovered that the man who was trying to hunt down all his friends and kill him was his father three years ago. The Jedi were supposed to have no attachments, and yet there he was, the final Jedi in a long legacy of warriors of peace, standing with people he cared about and would do just about anything for. With no Master, no Padawan, and a only half-of-the-time functioning saber due to his last conflict with his father, Luke isn't sure where exactly he stands in the galaxy.

Sent to protect the rest of the lineage of the Ceydea family, Luke Skywalker didn't expect much out of the mission, if he was being perfectly honest. The Rebellion had sent him, out of all people, to assist Han and Leia with the maintaining of Ceradicia's government, something in his gut understanding that there was more to the story, more than what met the eye. And with the Force telling Luke that there was definitely more to whatever was going on with the Ceydea family, he begrudgingly stays true to the mission.

However, when he discovers that there is something inherently different about the Ceydea family and their connection to the Force, Luke starts to realize that everything isn't exactly as cut and dry as he thought it was. That only becomes even more obvious when he catches the youngest of the Ceydea family trying to run off in the Millenium Falcon. Attempting to escape the difficulties of the death of her parents and the Rebellion, Luke finds that the youngest Ceydea might just be as lost in the galaxy as he is.

And maybe, just maybe, the two of them could figure out what the hell to do next together.

[there will be MANY  things that stray from canon inside of this story. the most obvious would probably be the fact that there is an additional four years between the empire strikes back and the return of the jedi, which means the entire timeline is altered. this is because all of my star wars books are connected, and this fic takes place in those four years.
