We reached the grove known as Bubble Island. The amusement park was here. Laughter and screams of joy filled the air . I stared in awe as technicolored lights illuminated the rides.


"Why are we here Luffy?" asked Chopper as he looked around confused.


Luffy was happily strolling next to me.


"We're looking for Rayleigh!" he shouted with a wink.


I laughed. So that's the reason huh...


" Yeah, Rayleigh might be on that rollarcoaster, we should go check." I added.


Luffy nodded back in agreement, "Good idea Misaki! We need to check all these rides!"


Then we both sprinted to the roller coaster like little children. Brook, Chopper, Pappug and Hatchen struggled to keep up with us.

Luffy and I rode every single ride twice ...just to make sure....before collapsing on a nearby bench.


"Slow...down...you..guys!" groaned Chopper as he finally reached us and plopped down next to me.


We rested for awhile as the others appeared.


"Oh...The ferris wheel!" shouted Kemei excitedly.


I looked up and saw her face light up as she stared at the ferris wheel.

"Let's ride it, " i suggested, "something calm might be nice."


Everyone nodded quickly in agreement ....except Luffy.


"Ferris Wheels are boring!" he complained," You guys go ahead." Then he leaned back on the bench and closed his eyes.


We left Luffy lying on the bench as we walked over to the ferris wheel.


Brook, Pappug, Chopper, and Hatchen boarded the bubble cart first. I helped Kemei in, making sure that her tail was concealed in her long dress.


I was about to jump in when a beeper went off.


"Sorry ma'am," called an amusement worker, " That's over the weight limit, you'll have to take the next one."



He directed me to the next cart and I slowly got in. I sat down glumly....it was quiet in the lonely cart......I wanted to ride with everyone else....


Suddenly the cart sunk slightly as a person boarded I turned to see Luffy sitting in the seat across, pretending to be casual.



"I thought you said Ferris Wheels were boring?" I teased.



"Yeah, but I decided to give it a try....."
He replied as he crossed his arms.


I smiled.



"Thanks Luffy."



"No problem, but if I die of boredom, it's your fau-..whoa...!"



The ferris wheel jolted as the cart was raised higher. We slowly ascended over the entire island.


I giggled when I saw Luffy out of the corner of my eye . His face was practically glued to the window. His eyes were wide as he took in the vast view of the ocean and the bustling movement of people.


"Look, Misaki! It's Zoro!" he shouted as he pointed into the distance.

I squinted my eyes and saw a familiar patch of moss-green hair. He was lying on the ground with a little pink haired girl crying on him?....what did Zoro do now....


"There's Sunny!.... And there's Franky, Ussop, and Sanji......there's Nami! and Robin!!" Luffy was now bursting with excitement. I was amazed that he could spot his crew so easily. Luffy really did care about them


What does it feel like to be cared for?


"Luffy?" I whispered. He turned to me and I looked into his bright eyes.


"Huh Misaki?"


"Would you....ummm.....ever...accept me on your crew?" I mumbled under my breathe, scared that he would reject me....


Luffy was stunned into silence...oh man, he's going to say no......




Then the largest smile came on face "Yeah, Misaki! Of course!" He yanked me into a bear hug. I froze in surprise at the sudden contact, then slowly let my body relax into his arms.



A strange warmth flooded into my heart....the one I had locked and frozen....When he let go, I smiled a close-eyed smile. Not a simple grin or smirk, but a genuine smile.


My eyes opened to see Luffy giving a strange look.


"What?" I asked quickly...why was he looking like that? Did I do something wrong..


"Oh nothing Misaki," he insisted as he scratched his head, " It just your smile
Is really pretty." he grinned again and laughed.


My cheeks flushed red a bit, but before Luffy could question it, the ferris wheel stopped.


I jumped out and let the cold air cool down my burning cheeks.


"I'm gonna go to the bathroom!" I shouted and rushed off, leaving a confused Luffy standing there.


I raced to the restroom and splashed cold water on my face.


Luffy is a friend...just a friend...that's all I want,....I repeated to myself in the mirror.



I took a few deep breathes and composed myself again. My mind was still wondering about Luffy as I walked out of the restroom.



Suddenly four burly arms grabbed me. From behind. What is this?! A blindfold was yanked over my eyes as I heard rough voices,

" Nice to see you again Misaki..." one chuckled.

I froze....I knew that voice...No.....My body started shaking violently in fear....I tried to let out a scream, but another rough hand muffled my voice.



"Don't worry Misaki," mocked the second voice, " You'll be home soon...."




Then something kneed me in the stomach and I doubled over in pain....... my mind was stunned. A final blow to my head knocked me out.


Darkness consumed me.
