Ace POV

It burned...but I expected worse.

I could feel Akainu's magma drip down my back, scalding my skin. The pain tore through my mind like a raging storm, as the sickly smell of melting flesh filled the air.

Luffy and Misaki lay on the ground below me Misaki's eyes were sealed shut, but Luffy's were wide open. His face frozen in fear.

I frowned.

Don't show such an expression Luffy.

"A-Ace." his voice croaked out as he reached out his hand, still clutching the vivre card I had given him.

"I'm...fine" I huffed. My voice faltered but I didn't care.

Confusion filled my mind.

I should already be dead. Akainu's attack should have incinerated me in an instant. I knew that when I jumped in front of it....but I wasn't dead.

Why?

*drip*

Bright red blood fell towards the ground.

I noticed Misaki's sea green eyes flash open as the droplet hit her pale face.

She sat up abruptly, but unlike Luffy, who was only staring at me, Her eyes immediately looked past me. They widened like saucers as her entire body seemed to freeze, not a single breathe came from her.

What did she see? I couldn't ask. My legs trembled and finally gave in as the darkness engulfed me. I fell down towards Luffy.

"ACE!"I heard him scream as his arms caught me.

Misaki POV

*drip*

I felt the cold drop hit my face, and opened my eyes. Looking up I saw Ace. He stood, bent over both me and Luffy. His bruised body shook as it shielded us from Akainu's fierce attack,

but Ace was still breathing...

he was still alive.

Then I saw the black hair peeking from behind Ace.

Ace's legs gave out at that moment, and Luffy caught him. As he fell, the scene before me finally made sense.

Daemon....

Akainu forcibly pulled his flaming fist out from Daemon's chest. Daemon wobbled a bit, as his hand grasped desperately at the wound.

His black hair was slightly singed off. Pieces of flames still dancing in the dark locks. All of his exposed skin, covered in soot or soaked in red. Blood splattered everywhere, staining the ground. His once golden eyes were glossy and dull as he weakly lifted an arm towards me.

In an instant, I was up, supporting him. My hands were immediately drenched in warm blood as his head sat limply on my shoulder.

"Heh" he mumbled into my ear.

How could he still laugh?

My nails dug into his arms. "W-why....y-you baka!?" I managed to say as I fought back tears.

Daemon painfully lifted his head, his face was pure white now. A vibrant trickle of red flowed down from his mouth.

He gave a faint smile.

"Because....we're friends." he whispered." I made a promise.....and now I've kept it." His eyes started to close as a tremor went through his entire body. I felt his legs give way slightly.

Something in me broke. "No....no...!" I mumbled aimlessly as I shook him frantically." Daemon!....stop it! I-i'll get a doctor...i'll find one right now....so don't you dare close your eyes.. Don't you dare!"

Daemon's eyes cracked open a little at my cries, a spark still in them, and relief flowed into me.

Then he smiled warmly, "Thank you Misaki." he coughed, "I'm glad that I could find such a great friend..."

I froze at his comment.

Daemon....

*Thump*

Stop....

*Thump*

Don't

(Silence)

.....

My mind couldn't process what had just happened. I collapsed to the ground with the frail corpse still in my arms. A playful smile remained frozen on his cold face.

"Oi Daemon" I lightly called

"Wake up....Hey....Come on...."

"Wake up..."

The world around me turned black and white.

The cries and screams became silent to my ears.

The only sight I saw was Daemon, lying there......

Dead

I blankly stared forward as long legs came into view. "Tch." scowled Akainu as he disdainfully looked down at Daemon, "Pathetic...."he mumbled as he kicked the corpse", no wonder his own father left him."

Unimaginable anger boiled in me as I rose up.

My eyes burned as they flipped up to meet his."YOU BASTARD!" I screamed my arms hurled towards him, water blades slicing through the air.

Akainu easily blocked my attack and sent me hurling with his other fist. I gasped in pain as searing heat engulfed my stomach. My body skid across the ground and came to a halt several feet away.

*Step*

Akainu approached slowly, holding his molten hand poised over his head. I desperately tried to get up, only to fall down again. My body wouldn't respond to me anymore.

Akainu's arm tensed and then it flashed brightly , "YOU PIRATE SCUM DESERVE TO DIE." he shouted as he threw his boiling arm straight at me.

*BANG*

*CRASH*

A huge metal fist came down and blocked Akainu's attack. At the same time another muscular form sent Akainu flying.

Whitebeard stood firmly over me. Radiating terror even with the thousands of cuts that littered his body and the nasty wound straight through his heart.

"I won't allow you to kill anyone else." he growled to Akainu. Akainu glared back and then they charged at each other. The ground exploded as the air burned.

As this happened, a rough hand suddenly grabbed my arm and I was lifted up over a shoulder.

"Stupid girl!" muttered a familiar voice, "What were you thinking!...You almost died!"

My blurry eyes gazed up slowly at the pale muscular body and then I reached the face of the flaming haired man in holding me.

"Kid" I squeaked, I didn't even have the energy to complain about his insult.

Everything was too overwhelming....The Auction house....Impel Down.....Luffy.... Ace....

Daemon...

I finally let the warm tears stream down my face as I looked up at Kid. My tiny hands clenched his fur cloak holding on for dear life.

"P-please.....Help me." I whispered.

So yeah....kind of killed off Daemon....i created him for this purpose...

:( but I really liked him *sigh*.

Anyway if u couldn't tell, Ace is a NOT dead, so no more complaints with that okay? (/>.<)/

Oh and I'm gonna be focusing more on Misaki with Law, Luffy and Kid from now on. \(^_^)/
