So a little over a month ago now, I participated in my first writing contest that had an entry fee. I decided it was time to try something new--go out on a limb and be adventurous. 

What made this particularly difficult was the fact that required genres were randomly assigned, along with a character and subject. Unfortunately for me, I was assigned horror which, if you know me, is not something I write.

Welll, the results came back today and apparently, I did not place in the competition. 

*tries to cover up a sniff*

Admittedly, I'm a bit disappointed, as this is kind of a blow to some already fragile confidence, but it's never good to rant when you're emotional so I'm just going to bottle up my feelings for a while til they settle down...

Although I do have a small bit of news that I should be sharing soon, so be ready for that. :)
