032, then learn fly
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

LUNA STANDS beside Samantha and the new member of Miyagi-Do Harmony getting into position when Johnny and Daniel look at the three of them and the rest of the dojo members.

Luna motions for Sam to train with Daniel to show off their skills while Miguel does the same with Johnny so Luna, Samantha and Daniel can pick up some of the tricks of Eagle Fang Karate as well.

The team separate for lunch inside the small cabin on the Miyagi-Do property while Daniel and Johnny share food outside on the sparring deck.

Eventually rejoining with the rest of the teenagers to watch Johnny and Daniel train with one another─ along with Johnny trying to do the crane kick which makes Daniel playfully scoff and walk off the deck.

"Come on, what's up?" Johnny questions smirking at the man and the teenagers stood together before both sensei's suggest that the students use their skills while trying to fight against them which some do successfully and others get playful gestures off Johnny and Daniel after losing the training sessions.

Harmony, Luna, Sam and Miguel all walk towards their vehicles while Miguel and Sam share a quick kiss making Luna groan in disgust before jiggling her car keys at Harmony who laughs nodding at her.

Sam gets into the passenger side of Daniel's vehicle along with Miguel doing the same in Johnny's van as all three cars drive away from the Miyagi-Do dojo with smiles on theirs faces after a successful and happy day of training.

"So listen, we're having pizza night tonight after showering and freshening ourselves up from training. You wanna join?" Luna questions focusing on the road towards Harmony's house.

"That sounds delicious. But no, my parents are finally getting along again and I don't want to miss out on that." Harmony responds receiving a head nod of understanding from the brunette driving.

"One hundred percent understandable, Mons. The offer still stands though." Luna states pulling up outside Harmony's house letting the blonde out of the vehicle waving her at her before beginning to drive home with the soft hum of music flowing through her speakers.

LUNA ARRIVES home smiling at Carmen and her mother sitting on the living room couch and Johnny and Daniel in the kitchen preparing the food.

"I'm gonna quickly freshen up." Luna explains receiving a nod off Amanda in understanding while watching Luna rush up the staircase towards her bedroom to freshen up before pizza night.

After her shower and picking out an outfit, Luna strolls into the kitchen noticing Anthony bugging Johnny by the kitchen counter.

"Ant, stop bothering the old man." Luna suggests smirking at Johnny's offended face and glaring at Anthony as the teenager laughs at what his older sister just called the blonde man.

"Old man?" Johnny questions still taking offence, "It was a joke. Otherwise Ant would've said something worse," Luna shrugs smirking at Johnny's relieved face hearing Luna mention that it was in fact a joke.

"An old man wouldn't be able to move the way you do." Luna says grabbing the cold water jug out of the fridge and placing it on the table.

"I take that as a compliment, kid." Johnny responds with a small smile.

"Hey, kids! Dinner! Oh, thank you." Amanda calls out before trailing off noticing Daniel pouring some red wine into her glass.

"You know, I don't think I'll ever get sick of seeing the two of you together." Carmen voices looking at Daniel and Johnny sharing a look with each other.

"Oh yeah. Last time these two were in a kitchen together... well, let's just say, I'm glad the steak knives weren't out." Amanda states looking from her husband to Johnny.

"I'll drink to that." Johnny utters while Sam and Miguel join the table.

"Same." Amanda murmurs clinking her glass with Johnny's beer bottle, "Perfect." Daniel says sitting at the head of the table.

Luna picks up the glass of cold water and sips on it slowly while the conversation moves to the business side of things.

"So how's business?" Carmen inquires looking at Daniel at the end of the table while Luna is seated beside her and Sam carefully dishing out a plate of the salad bowl Miguel just passed her.

"Uh, the dealership's been the best it's been in years. It should practically be on autopilot by the time Luna and Sam take it over. Right girls?" Daniel quizzes looking at his two daughters.

"Dad..." Sam mumbles giving Luna a look before both girls look at their father.

"You two are gonna take over the dealership? That's awesome." Miguel states.

"Well..." Luna begins to explain shooting her father a look as if to explain for Sam and her.

"Nah. Nah, it's just an inside joke. See when Luna and Sam were little girls, they used to walk around like they both owned the place." Daniel explains.

"Yeah. Well can you blame them? They were practically raised on that showroom floor. Sam was almost born on it too." Amanda states looking at Carmen beside her.

Luna goes quiet hearing about the memories and how Sam was nearly born at the dealership and here she is adopted and doesn't really remember anything about her biological parents.

"Hey, whatever Sam wants to do with her life, that's entirely up to her. If she decides to go to school nearby, get her MBA. USC, UCLA, I'm just saying... it's all icing on the cake." Daniel rambles oblivious to the fact his adoptive daughter has tuned everything out and just itching at the thought of leaving the kitchen table of the sudden.

"Honey, you okay?" Carmen wonders snapping Luna out of her thoughts.

"Yeah, I'm all good. Thanks Carmen." Luna mumbles nodding her head trying to convince herself.

See, she knows she's apart of this family as much as Daniel and Amanda and even Samantha and Anthony love her.

She just wishes she got to know her real parents before they tragically disappeared.

She knows that her mother died a tragic death but her biological father? She doesn't know much about that man.

Other than the fact he ran as soon as her biological mother found out she was pregnant with her.

Amanda takes notice of Luna's sudden mood change wanting to change the subject from Sam and her future college decisions.

Also wishing that she picked up on the sudden drop of Luna's gorgeous smile after hearing Daniel not even mention her in the college talk.

"So, Miguel, how's school going?" Amanda questions while Luna sips on her water again.

"Uh, good. Uh, great actually." Miguel nervously stammers caught off guard by the attention suddenly being drawn to him.

"Straight A's this semester." Carmen states smiling proudly for her son's success, "Wow." Amanda murmurs smiling at the boy.

"Yes, a total nerd." Johnny speaks up earning a chuckle off Miguel in response.

"See, with grades like that you can go anywhere you want." Daniel states.

"Yeah. I'd, uh, like to go to Stanford." Miguel says revealing his dream college.

"That's a pretty impressive school." Daniel responds shocked.

"Yeah, I think it's like number six in the country. The campus is beautiful." Miguel explains.

"It's definitely a top choice. But that tuition, wow," Carmen says puffing at the thought of the cost.

"We're also thinking about Santa Monica College, right Miguel? Save some money, live at home, then see where we go from there." Carmen explains.

Luna tilts her biting into a piece of lettuce seeing the smile on Miguel's face drop a little bit.

"SMC's great too. It's right by the beach. Have you checked out their campus?" Daniel questions.

"No, actually, I-I-I haven't," Miguel responds going to grab the spoon of the salad bowl but accidentally hits the glass of red wine spilling it on Daniel in the process.

"Oh, oh! Mr. LaRusso, shit. Ah, I mean I'm sorry!" Miguel stutters embarrassed at the sudden spillage accident.

"No, don't worry about it. Please. Just a little wine. Right?" Daniel states making Miguel sigh embarrassed.

Eventually pizza night comes to an end and Sam and Luna follow behind Johnny, Daniel and Miguel towards the front door of the LaRusso household.

"So still okay with me taking the Eagle Fangs tomorrow?" Daniel inquires.

"Yeah. I had some ideas on how to get your kids' offense up to snuff." Johnny responds.

"Mm-hm." Daniel hums, "Make sure defense doesn't turn you into a cream puff." Johnny demands facing Miguel who breathes deeply.

"Tomorrow is gonna be great. As long as sensei over here brings everyone back in one piece." Daniel utters looking at Luna and Sam making both of them respond with small smiles.

"No promises." Johnny smirks, "You'd better make a promise." Daniel firmly states.

"Okay, down, boys." Carmen demands interrupting the conversation, "Goodbye, LaRussos." Johnny states waving at the girls.

"Thank you." Miguel politely says waving at Amanda and Luna before smiling at Sam saying their goodbyes to one another, "Take care." Daniel says.

"All right. Bye." Johnny responds walking towards his van while Carmen and Miguel walk towards their family vehicle.

"Hey, I'm serious. I'd better not see a scratch on my Miyagi-Dos." Daniel exclaims.

While Luna sighs loudly before excusing herself upstairs to her bedroom where she sits on her bed opening her laptop reading what's displayed on her screen while a very loud exhale leaves her mouth at the thought of what's displayed.

THE NEXT day, Luna wakes up at the crack of dawn beginning her day with a much needed run to clear her head.

Before picking up Harmony and arriving at the abandoned building Johnny ordered the Miyagi-Dos to meet at.

"Where is he taking us?" Nate questions while the rest of the Miyagi's climb up the staircase panting due to the pace.

"Nowhere good. I heard he drowned a kid in a pool trying to teach him how to kick, and that was before he sicced a rabid dog on Eli. This does not bode well." Demetri explains while panting while Luna rolls her eyes irritated by the constant whinging.

"Let's go, Miyagis. Move your asses! Luna's the only one who has a good pace!" Johnny exclaims from the top of the staircase making Luna smirk.

Demetri sighs yet again continuing to climb alongside the others towards the top.

The teens squint due to the bright light due to sun blinding them once they walk out on a rooftop noticing Luna standing to the side almost bored.

"Oh God. I'm tired of being right." Demetri mumbles looking over the ledge of the building seeing dirty mattresses at the bottom.

Luna grimaces in disgust thinking about all the nasty diseases on the surface of them.

"Gross." Luna mutters taking a step back now standing beside her sister and Harmony.

"What are we doing here?" Sam questions slightly afraid.

"When an eagle's hungry, it doesn't hesitate. It'll dive down at 100 miles an hour to snatch its prey. It doesn't wait around for a fish to jump in its feet." Johnny explains.

"Talons." Demetri speaks up interrupting Johnny's speech receiving an annoyed look off the male.

"It's not talent. It's instinct. An eagle knows it has to make the first move. If you want to beat Cobra Kai in the All Valley, you gotta break yourself of this wait-and-see crap." Johnny mutters looking around at the frightened Miyagi-Dos─ all but Luna.

"How exactly are we gonna do that?" Sam inquires, "You're gonna jump from this roof... to that one." Johnny reveals gesturing towards both buildings shocking the students minus Luna and slightly Harmony as well.

"What? Are you crazy?" Sam shrieks alarmed while Luna lightly chuckles genuinely scaring some of the other members of Miyagi-Do around her.

"That building is, like, five Nates away and we're at least 14 Nates high." Demetri states.

"Please don't use me as a system of measurement." Nate mutters in a pleading manner.

"Quiet!" Johnny shouts loudly startling all of them while Luna looks at her nails on her hand still with pure boredom.

"If you wanna be an eagle, first you gotta learn how to fly. And you can't do that unless you jump." Johnny explains motioning between both buildings once again.

"What if we fall?" Abe questions, "That's what the mattresses are for." Johnny responds.

"And if we miss the mattresses?" Demetri quizzes, "Try not to," Johnny deadpans with a shrug.

"All right, who's first?" Johnny questions while the Miyagi-Do students remain quiet other than Luna who raises her hand receiving a knowing look off the blonde man.

"Someone other than Luna." Johnny demands knowing the brunette will do it despite the consequences if she were to fall.

"We're not leaving 'til someone jumps. Let's go. I'll wait." Johnny utters.

"Then I guess you'll be waiting a long time. 'Cause we're not jumping." Sam firmly responds making Luna audibly groan loudly.

"Fuck. This is so boring." Luna mutters looking around at the city's surroundings seeming as Johnny won't let her jump over the buildings.

"CAN SOMEONE please just jump so I can go home? I'm so fucking bored!" Luna mutters looking around at the others while receiving glares off some of the Miyagi-Do students.

"Sorry that none of us are suicidal or have dare devil thoughts, Luna." Demetri snaps beginning to get on Luna's last nerves.

Considering since they've been on this rooftop he has been constantly glaring at her or whinging about being sunburnt─ not that that's not annoying Luna either.

She's just sick and tired of hearing his whines. Luna hears the end of Sam's sentence about their father.

"Our dad wouldn't want us doing this. Plus there's clearly something going on inside Luna's head for her to act so inhumane all of the sudden." Sam states.

"Oh, gimme a break. You do everything your mommy and daddy tell you to? If they told you to jump off a bridge, would you?" Johnny questions with a loud scoff.

"You're telling me to jump off a building." Sam responds with a duh tone.

"Yeah, onto another building," Johnny responds with a shrug before looking up towards where Luna is sat talking to Harmony about something.

"All I'm trying to do is help you doormats survive the All Valley." Johnny explains.

"If we do your training, I don't think we'll survive the afternoon. Look, we came here with an open mind, but this is dangerous." Sam firmly states.

"Yeah. Well... I know what I'm doing." Johnny utters, "Do you? Because based on your track record, you don't have the best judgment." Sam says.

"Oh, you wanna talk judgment? How about you and Luna smashing into my Firebird and then driving off with your girlfriends. Wanna explain that?" Johnny inquires.

"I wasn't even driving. Neither was Luna. We were both in the backseats." Sam explains growing frustrated.

"Yeah. Well, how about Luna and you showing up at my place drunk, causing your dad to kick down my door? I'm guessing that wasn't your fault either." Johnny responds.

"Luna and I are teenagers who both have made mistakes. You're a 50-something-year-old man who lives alone, drinks all day, and clearly hasn't figured out his own life." Sam snaps scowling at the Lawrence male.

"I figured out one thing for sure. If I did everything my parents wanted me to do, I'd be wearing a suit and tie in some worthless job while I wait out the clock," Johnny explains noticing Luna walking towards them now.

"And I didn't want that. And now I get to do what I love every damn day. I get to try to help kids like you find their own way. If you wanna sit in the back seat your whole life, go right ahead. It's no sweat off my back," Johnny says going to walk away before facing the girl once more.

"As for Luna, I don't know what's going on inside that girl's head but ever since Robby and her broke things off she's been hiding behind a fake smile. I also don't think your father... or you for that matter realise how broken she actually is. It's about you all the time. Never her." Johnny mutters sticking up for Azalea-LaRusso brunette.

And actually taking in how much pain she's truly in since the break up with his son.

Johnny walks away from the stunned brunette who looks around before rushing off towards Luna embracing her in a tight hug.

"Oof! Jesus." Luna grunts at the impact sharing a confused look with Harmony who just shrugs just as confused.

"Not that I don't appreciate the hug, Sammy. But what's going on?" Luna questions once Sam breaks out of the embrace.

"I just wanted you to know how much I love you and I don't want you holding anything back about... anything." Sam explains.

"Okay?" Luna mumbles trailing off with a frown even more confused than before.

JOHNNY PACES around the group of teenagers while Luna sits with her arms crossed bored.

"So no one wants to fly? You all just want to stay in the nest. Pathetic!" Johnny exclaims while Sam and Luna receive text messages from their dad.

DON'T DO ANYTHING
I WOULDN'T DO
─ FATHER DEAREST

Sam looks at Luna noticing the gears ticking in her head and the mischievous smirk forming on her face.

"Lulu, no!" Sam orders in almost a pleading voice immediately knowing what the dare devil girl wants to accomplish.

"Fine, you win. You can bore Cobra Kai into submission. You all failed. Grab your crap and let's go. Looks like you got what you wanted." Johnny grunts mumbling towards Sam who looks up noticing Luna standing up and dropping her things.

"Luna. Stop. No!" Sam exclaims watching as the brunette runs towards the edge of the building leaping across and landing successfully on the other side.

Surprising the Miyagi-Do students at Luna's success, "Yes! You did it!" Harmony shrieks excitedly from the opposite side.

"Nice move, Luna!" Johnny yells clapping his hands shocked that the brunette actually did it despite Sam and him both telling her not to.

"Awesome!" Some of the Miyagi-Do members exclaim and cheer while Luna prepares to leap to the other side to join the others again.

"Can't believe you just did that." Sam huffs standing beside the brunette.

"I'm over living in my adoptive father's shadow. I'm not some pussy afraid of doing dangerous stunts." Luna shrugs walking down the staircase of the building with the others.

Eventually getting into her car alongside Harmony dropping the blonde at her house.

Before going to her favourite look-out spot in the Valley trying to ignore all of the feelings coming to the surface once visiting the spot her and Robby first slept together.

Luna looks at the email on her phone staring at the email displayed on the screen with tear filled eyes.

LUNA ARRIVES at Miyagi-Do noticing Sam, Harmony and the others waiting for her to arrive before hearing Johnny's van pulling into the small carpark at the dojo.

"So? What's the plan for today? Something else life threatening that Luna can kick all of our asses doing?" Sam questions smirking at the man.

"Oh yeah, but now you're all ready. Just follow Luna's lead and remember, if you get put in a scary situation, you don't back down," Johnny explains while everyone nods understanding and kind of excited to follow Luna's lead.

"You gotta grow a pair... of legs. To jump." Johnny says trailing off looking at the three girls sharing amused looks with each other.

"It's okay. We understand. Sensei." Luna states smiling at Johnny.

"All right. Let's get to work." Johnny demands leading the Miyagi-Do's into the back of the dojo to meet up with the Eagle Fang members.

Luna, Sam and the others walk towards the sparring deck noticing Miguel and Daniel bowing ready to face off with one another.

Now that Miguel is gifted one of Daniel's─ Mr Miyagi's headbands after a winning Daniel's training session of catching one of the koi fish from the koi pond.
