(Emilia's POV)
Liam and I walked through our door and was greeted by the smell of food dad was cooking for us. I greeted him "Hey, Dad." He turned his head "How was school today?" We placed our books on the counter as we sat down on the stools. I smiled "Good. I was the only one who figured out how to clone a cell from an old mandrill fossil." I glanced at Liam who smiled proudly at me, his big sister. "Good" would be if you fixed the Great Mutant Outbreak, Emilia." Dad said sternly as he went back to cooking.
"But it's a start." I see him eying Liam "What about you, Liam?" I stare at him as he passionately speaks "I scored the winning goal in Burrow Ball. Coach said I could be coach one day!" Suddenly our Dad slammed his fists on the counter as he yelled "Your future is not in a burrow! It's up there on the surface." He said as he pointed upwards. "Am I understood?" I see Liam stand up looking disappointed "Yes, sir." With a frown I watched him walk away giving our Dad a cold look before sitting on the sofa.
I turn to Dad "Why did you yell at him like that? You don't have to be so hard on him you know. It's bad enough we lost mom...if you keep acting this way towards him, you'll lose him, too." He glared at me "Yes, I do, Emilia. And your mother was sick! You hear me?! SICK!There ain't nothing we could've done, and as long as he's not getting distracted from our mission, I couldn't care less if he hated me for the rest of his life." I gasped as I covered my mouth, but words couldn't come out.
He took a deep breath and stared me directly in the eyes "Our mission, Emilia....is bigger than a stupid game. It's bigger than us! We cannot lose our fire." I furrowed my brows "We won't. We WILL be the ones to return humans to our rightful place." I made a fist. I knew I wasn't going be a disappointment. Even if our Dad was really mean and strict with us, his goals and ambitions were what made me respect him as a person.
"Every generation thinks they're gonna be the ones to bring humans back on top. And eventually, every generation gives up." He stated with his bulky arms crossed. "I won't give up." I said determinedly at him, and that was the truth. Whether or not I'll get his approval, or if he dies before then, I'll be the one to save humanity from the ashes of the Great Mutant Outbreak. I can guarantee it. "Make sure your brother doesn't either. Keep him focused." He said as he turned his back to me to finish cooking.
"Yes, sir. I won't let you down." I said obediently as I got up and left to go sit with Liam. I nudged his elbow as we looked at one another and smiled. We were there for each other when we needed it, especially on our bad days like this. I knew he wasn't the type to be as interested as the stuff me and Dad were into, but as long as he had my back in all this, and I had his.....we would've been able to do anything together.....
Or so I hoped.
I stared at the photo Liam took of us on that tragic day when it was his first time going up to the surface. My hand began to tremble as the photo started to wrinkle within my grasp. I whispered with venom in my voice "(Y/n) will pay for what she's done.." I hear a faint chuckle coming from behind me as I gave an exasperated sigh placing the photo down on the table. "You done scheming for your next big plan, miss Villain?" I rubbed my forehead "Very funny. And I wasn't doing anything anyway." His posture suddenly became more professional "Look hun, I'm on a tight schedule here, so could we possibly hurry this up?"
"Fine." I said bluntly as I reached in the fridge and pulled out two vials of formula, both different color. I handed it to him, but not before eyeing him suspiciously "You're certain you have people on the other side of the state that revoke against the mutes?" He nodded "Why, yes! Most certainly, Doctor. From one to another, I can assure you that everyone revolts the mutes and wishes for everything to be back to normal." I carefully handed him the vials as he placed them in his bag, but he accidentally clanked them together making an uneasy noise.
I glared at him "Be careful you idiot! You're lucky I'm even giving you these, a cure and a mutational formula. So, I'm not giving you more." He bowed with respect "I will try to be more cautious of my surroundings. Thank you." I cleared my throat as I held my hand out. He looked dazed for a second before widening his eyes as he pulled another vial from his bag, one that was different and handed it to me. I escorted him to his tiny boat, Greta stood next to me as we waved him goodbye. "My regards, Dr. Emilia!" He yelled as he paddled away from us.
"And to you as well, Dr. Fentieno!" Greta turned to me "So...why was that guy here? How'd you two meet?" I smirked as I gazed out at the ocean "Just a "friend" I met a week ago. Seems there are others, more people who want to rid the world of mutes, Greta. And the reason he was here was because we traded. I gave him a single dose of the two formulas, while he gave me...this." I showed her the clear substance as I wiggled the liquid around in it. "But...aren't you gonna use the walrus mute's blood to fight Kipo and them?"
"Yes." I simply said as she gave me a confused look. She began staring at the vial with awe "So, what will this do?" My evil grin grew wider as a wicked laugh came out "Let's just say....this will make things more....interesting."
(??? POV)
"Soon, soon.....my creations will come into fruition. I just need more time, yes.....time." I paddled quicker as my arms began to sore, but I couldn't care less knowing I'm on the brink of creating a new civilization.
(Hugo's POV)
I ran as fast as I could on all fours as I track down Emilia. I turned a tight corner when I was startled by Wolf who suddenly jumped right in front of me. I gave her a stern look "Don't try and stop me!" I said loud and clear to her. "I'm not." She said giving me a deadpanned expression. "I thought we understood each other." I grabbed her face "Emilia needs to go." Her cheeks were squished together while keeping that stoic face. "Yeah, I know."
I let her go as I balled my hands into fists "All right, fisticuffs it is." She suddenly took out a bottle and sprayed me everywhere. I coughed as I covered my face, not wanting it to get near my eyes. "Air freshener, so Kipo won't be able to to track you. Because as I've been saying, I'm here to help." I looked at her with surprise written all over my face. "Oh." I said.
Well, now I feel foolish...
I smiled "Well, I wish I didn't smell like lavender breeze, but good. You do realize we're not just going to have a conversation with Emilia." Giving her a mischievous grin as I leaned forward. She turned around "Yeah. Let's go." I followed her, sharing a deep mischievous laugh as we headed for the docks at Brunchington Beach.
We climbed to get a higher view of the area and see two of the humans unload boxes. Wolf was watching them as she reported to me "Looks like Emilia isn't with them." My smile grew as I glanced at her "Then she'll be on the boat, with minimal defenses, alone, unaware that we are the nightmares that haunt her shadow..." I look to my right and noticed Wolf wasn't there "Oh, you've left." I stared down at the docks and watched her struggling with one of the humans. I groaned to myself.
This isn't the kind of stealth I was going for...
(Y/n's POV)
Everyone was busy with their own set of jobs as they all worked together to finish setting up the decorations and tables. Kipo, who was in her Mega Jaguar form, sniffed the air as she made a low growl turning back to normal. "No sign of Scarlemagne or Wolf." I walked up to her "Don't try to think anything of it, Kipo. I'm sure they'll figure out the right thing to do." Kipo nodded but gasped as she gazed lovingly at my attire. She fangirled as she held her cheeks together "Oh, my gosh, (Y/n). You. Look. AMAZING!"
(A simple dress for you to wear uwu, but you're free to wear whatever you want!💜)
I blushed as I twirled around in my dress "Do you like it? I made it myself. Didn't want you to be the only one who gets to wear my clothing line." She laughed "Thanks for making my dress, by the way. It's super cute, and the shoes are so comfy!" I smirked as I rubbed the tip of my nose "Heh, well, you know what they say "Never tell a woman she can't "purse-shoe" her dreams!" We both laughed at my hilarious pun as we walked to the tables where our fam was sitting at.
Kipo smile widened "Oh, my gosh, guys, this place looks amazing!" She glanced to the side "Of course, they would know exactly how to hide from me." She looked up at the staging lights as she admired them sweetly before going back to scowling. Benson distracted her by complimenting her dress. "You did a good job making that, (Y/n)." I smiled "Thanks, Benson. I know how much Kipo loves dressing up." I turn to see her frown as she looked at her dress.
"I was super excited to show it off to Wolf, but..." "She's not here." Dave said sadly as Kipo groaned in annoyance. "Don't remind me!" I pointed out to her "Hugo isn't here either, and I wanted to show him my dress, too, so....you're not the only one here, Kipo." I tried comforting her by giving her a back rub, but alas, it didn't help her. She turned to us "How could they do this?" Lio stared at her with a sad expression "They're just trying to protect you, you and (Y/n), in their own way."
Kipo sat down "But if we don't give Emilia a chance, Prahm is basically a lie." Song looked into my eyes asking permission for what we both know needs to be said. I gave a slow nod as she did the same and got on her knees in front of Kipo. "Kipo...I'm going to need you to listen, OK? I know you want to believe that Emilia will do the right thing, but there's something you should know." Her face hardens as she and I say the exact same line "She won't."
Kipo's eyes filled with worry "You don't know that for sure." Song shook her head "I do. When I was the Mega Monkey, Emilia told me things. Things she didn't think I'd ever be able to tell anyone. But I'm not the only one she told secrets to..." I gazed at them as I see Song stare back, eyes full of sadness. Kipo had a frown to her face as well. Song placed her hand on her shoulder "Trust us, you have no idea what she is willing to do for her beliefs."
So she told the story, the story of how their burrow was dedicated to ending the Great Mutant Outbreak. How Emilia took her brother with her to get samples from the mutes. I stood next to them as I tell my side of the story about where I was at that time, how I met Liam and what happened after we met up with Emilia. My eyes start to tear up as I explained what happened after that, the blackmail, the lies, the secrets, following it all the way up to now.
I felt arms around me as I see Song and Kipo hug me from each side. I accepted their loving embrace as we smiled contently. "Poor Liam..." Lio said melancholically. "All this time, I believed her." Dave held the cupcake in his hand "For the first time in my 2oo years of life, I lost my appetite." But then he eats it anyway "OK, it's...it's back, it was gone, though, it was." I faced Kipo "If Emilia was willing to sacrifice her own brother and blackmail me all those months for what she believes..."
Song had a feared expression on her face "...there is no line she won't cross." Benson furrowed his brows "You know what, I'm just gonna say it: I hope Scarlemagne and Wolf do find her." Kipo frantically looked at him "No. Emilia has done unthinkably evil things, but if I don't believe people are capable of change, then what's this party even for?" I sighed to myself as I rubbed my arm. She doesn't get it.
Emilia isn't just like any other person.
She's a monster. A twisted, psychotic, evil monster...
"It's starting." Dave said with his arms crossed. "Exactly! Change starts now." Dave pointed "No, no, no, I mean the party. It's starting." Soon enough every mute came entering as they observed our decorations. We greeted Molly who still seemed to be uneasy about the whole thing, but it was a start. I greeted everyone that came to say hello and got a lot of compliments from my dress. Even Jamack seemed to really love it. We talked for a while before parting ways to go socialize with others. I look up at the sky thinking about Hugo..wondering if he's thinking about me.
As much as I wanted him to stop Emilia...
I'd rather have him here with me now.
(Hugo's POV)
I gaze up at the clouds in the sky missing my dear, sweet (N/n). I took a deep breath hearing Wolf interrogating the human known as "Greta" as I hopped down from the building while standing beside Wolf. "I beg to differ." I immediately start doing jumping-jacks as I watched my comrade continue to fight Greta. Things weren't going so well when she kept getting thrown everywhere and landed next to me . "You could help, you know!" "I am!" I yelled back at her while increasing my pace.
I, then start doing push-ups as continued to hang on to her grappling rope "How?!" I groaned as I could feel my body heating up "Just keep her busy!" I went faster until I could already feel the cold sweat running down my forehead. "Ah, finally!" I said as I laughed maniacally and got up from the ground. I ran towards Greta and aimed my sweat-covered hand as I flung it at her "Take that!", but what I didn't expect was for her to block it so easily. "Oh, shoot!"
She head-butted me as I fell hard to the ground, but rolled away just before she could stomp me. She got me cornered to the end of the dock where a hungry mute was swimming up, waiting to devour me. She smiled evilly as she began squishing my hands. I grunted from the pain on my fingers and grew furious at her as I grabbed a handful of my sweat and flung it on her face. She stopped what she was doing and smiled widely.
I lowered my voice "Now, you're going to.." a smack was heard as I watch the human fall down unconsciously. I scoffed at Wolf who held the paddle she used to knock her out. "Great job, Wolf. Now we have to wait for her to wake up." She helped me up giving me a side glare "You promised Kipo no mind control." My face looked stunned "Oh, was that supposed to be forever?"
"-___-"
(Kipo's POV)
Once time flew by and everyone got comfortable, my people showed up. I ran up to them "You made it!" Mr. Filburn held up the box in his hands "Kipo! We brought you something." I gasped "Is it fireworks?" He smiled at me "Yeah! We thought it'd be a fun way to celebrate." I smiled with joy and excitement "Ooh, I can't wait! Except I have to, because it's not dark yet." I chuckled, glancing to the side. "But once it is, we'll gather everyone and set them off!"
Hoag suddenly walked past me calling out to Doag, his daughter, telling her to go. But obviously she refused as he kept chasing her. I turn to the rest "Well, I'm glad all of you are here." Molly walked up beside me and held up her axe "Greetings, humans." My people panicked as they let out a scream, covering their faces. I gasp as I try to explain "Don't worry! That's just how they say hi." Benson stepped in "It's like a high five...with an axe." He demonstrated it with me as I smiled nervously at them along with a chuckle.
"Just, um, introduce yourselves." Everyone looked awkward towards each other as I turn to Benson giving him a worried frown. He knew exactly what he needed to to. "Don't worry, Kipo. We'll show'em how it's done. After all, Dave and I are the original human-mute alliance." He and Dave nodded giving each other their signal. Dave rubbed his hands together in a mischievous manner "All right, it's time to make some friendships.
"Jamack and I will make some friendships, too." Troy said as Jamack nodded with an approved smile. Dave laughed "It's not a competition, but we're gonna make more friendships." Jamack chuckled "Yeah, right. We're way more charming." He gestured to himself and Troy. (Y/n) laughed "That you are, you two." Benson smirked "Charm will only get you so far." Troy held a confident stance "We'll see about that." Him and Jamack fist bumped as they all walked away to make friendships. I turned to (Y/n) "Hey, how 'bout we tag-team on this, too!" She gave a big smile giving me her signature wink "Thought you'd never ask. Let's go!"
(Hugo's POV)
I came out of the kitchen holding a stack of pancakes I made as I stood next to Wolf. We had that Greta human tied to a chair so we could interrogate her. "You're gonna take us to Emilia, or else." She gave us a confused stare "Or else what...?" Me and Wolf looked at one another as we smiled evilly at her. " Or else no pancakes." I cut a piece off and held it in front of her face, taunting her as she got close chuckling excitedly, but retracted back just when she was about to bite down.
"But I want pancakes!" She groaned but decided to give in "OK, if you go past the sixth building, then turn right, you'll find Emilia's boat." I commended Wolf "You were spot on with the whole pancake thing. Quick little boat trip, and bing-boom, Prahm is safe." We hear her scoff at us "Maybe for today, but eventually, the mutes will double-cross you." She directed her eyes at Wolf "You know what I'm talking about." Me and Wolf glanced at each other in confusion until she spoke bluntly "No I don't."
"Mutes and humans are friends now." Greta grinned at her "Then why do you wear that wolf? You know deep down, Kipo's whole "mutes can be our friends" thing is bogus! Mutes attack, eat, or mind control us.." now it was my eyes she stared at, giving me an unsightly look. She returned to Wolf "That's why you hide that you're human." We stood there in dismay as she bit off the piece from my fork "Got it?" Wolf was stunned "I...I've never thought about it like that."
"I never thought she could put together that many thoughts." I said out loud, not giving much attention to the fact that she could be on to something. Greta grinned widely at us "I'm no dummy. All those burrow humans might think a party will fix things, but I'm no dummy." I scowled "And she's back." We decided to retreat as we left Greta to go discuss what she said to us. I crouched down to Wolf's level as she spoke quietly "If we do this, humans and mutes will never trust each other."
"Oh, they'll get over it." I quickly remarked, but she looked hesitant. "No, they won't. If we get rid of Emilia while they're at Prahm, they'll think Prahm was a trick. We'll undo everything Kipo, and even (Y/n)'s worked for." We glanced over to see Greta moving closer to the plate of pancakes until she noticed us staring, pretending like that she wasn't doing anything. I turn my head back to Wolf "When you put it that way, it makes it sound like hurting Emilia is the wrong thing to do."
My face saddened as she frowned, too. "Yeah, that's what I was going for. We can't be on their side if we're not by their side. We need to be all in. And if Kipo's willing to give Emilia a chance..." I groaned knowing she was right "Then so should we. I'm definitely going to regret this." We heard a thud as we turn our heads to see Greta fall face first to the ground. We looked back and smiled at each other knowing just what to do next.
Wolf sat Greta back up as she cut the ropes for "You can go." I said to her letting her know she's free from our capture. She grabbed the plate of pancakes and ran away yelling in victory. Wolf sighed heavily "If we're going to Prahm, I'm gonna need to wear something else." I smiled cockily "Lucky for you, I just happen to know the exact place of where to find such....habiliments." I started walking away as I motioned for her to follow "Come, now! We must make haste if we're going to make it in time for Prahm."
(Y/n's POV)
Everyone was talking amongst each other, trying to make light conversations between the mutes and humans. For most the convos started off a bit awkward, but we had hope things will turn around. Music started playing as everyone turned their attention to the docks and see the narwhals appear as they began to sing. I dance in the crowd as they cheered, Hoag came up in front as he called out to Doag for them to leave. Kipo stopped him, explaining that his daughter was fine and that she was friends with them.
I look at Hoag "Yeah, why would you take that away from her?" He scowled at us "I'm just trying to keep her safe." Kipo frowned at him "Safe from what?" She gestured Doag to him "Look at her. She's happy." He sees her dance happily side by side with the narwhals as she posed fabulously. "You're right." Doag motioned to him "Dad, if you're done being being a grumble goose, you can come dance with me and my friends."
"Me? Oh, I couldn't possibly..." I held his shoulder as I smiled "Go, man! Dance with your daughter." And just like that, it was as if a powerful, mystical force was inside Hoag that urged him to shake and dance with his body as he went next to Doag and breakdanced. The crowd cheered from his and her performance as me and Kipo smiled at them. "So that's where she gets it." Kipo mentioned as my eyes widened in surprise. "Really?" I stare at them in awe thinking about my mom and dad.
"My mom taught me how to dance. It would've been nice getting to dance with her, my dad, too." Kipo smiled sadly at me as she linked arms with me. "They would be proud of you, you know. But they're always with you, (Y/n). And....you have us now. We're a family, right?" I give a light chuckle tilting my head, smiling at her "Right." I pulled her in a dance as everyone joined in with us. Our laughs echoed throughout the entire shore as it started to get dark. The lights luminous their bright colors, making our Prahm shine its way through our hearts.
(Hugo's POV)
I stood in my old palace as I stared up at the tree covered in hardened gold. Thinking about the past events that had occurred here not too long ago. I hear the tiny footsteps behind me as I Wolf groaned "Everything in there is too...floofy." When I didn't respond she called to me again "Scarlemagne?" I sighed heavily as I walked up to the tree "I really made a mess of things, didn't I?" I stared at my reflection, gazing at my appearance "I was so wrapped up in creating an empire, when I should have gone after Emilia."
I turned around to face her, letting her see my grieving expression "I could have searched more for (Y/n), freed Song, forgiven Lio, grown up with Kipo. Things would have been so different if I'd stopped hating all humans for the mistakes of a few." She raised her eyebrows "So, why didn't you?" I glanced to the side shamefully "I wanted power. Who doesn't?" "Kipo." She stated. I turn my back to her "Yes, I know. That girl would find a reason to befriend a broom."
"If she didn't, I'd be alone, you'd probably be dead, so..." I looked back to her "Mm, fair point." I, then glanced over to one of the tables and see the gift Kipo made me. I walked over as I held the tiny star blanket thinking about her and (Y/n) as I made it into a decorative tie. I turned around smiling in content "Well, I'm ready for Prahm." Wolf stared at me "Great. I'm not." She said sarcastically as she held up one of the dresses I put out for her.
"I can't find the dress that says "I wanna dress up to make it up to my best friend, but I don't want to wear a dress." I gave her a sympathetic smile as I gestured to her one of the stores in front of us, eying on something she'd prefer. "There are other options." She left to go try on the cape and came while I waited outside and stared at my tiny box. What I didn't expect was for her to snatch it from me as she tossed it in the air with a huge grin on her face.
I cleared my throat "May I...have that back, please?" Trying not to show my embarrassment. She laughed lightly showing me the box "Are you really that nervous? We all know how much she loves you. And the fact that you're worried this much about how it'll go just proves how much more she means to you." She placed her hand on my arm "It's going to be all right, Scarlemagne. We'll be there for you, all of us. What matters now is how you're going to play it out."
She poked my chest giving me a mildly angry, determined expression "So, are you gonna wimp out and go crawling back to your dark, sad cave of utter loneliness, or are you gonna man up and propose to your best friend you shared your entire life with while carrying that pride on your back?!" My worried expression soon dropped and turned into a confident one. She was right. If I was going to do this, then I need to do it with my self pride intact. I'm not gonna let my worried self get in the way of what's important. "Thanks, Wolf." She nodded "Now, come on. We have a Prahm to get to!"
(Y/n), mi amour...
I can't wait to see you~
(Y/n's POV)
I was resting my legs as I watched everyone having a good time. The mutes and humans were getting along better, Jamack even managed to show an elderly woman how to have a good time. It was all becoming perfect.....but something else was missing. "My heart...is about...to explode!" Kipo said dramatically as she talked to Dave. I decided to join in on the conversation "About to? From what?" Dave raised his hand "Oh, oh, let me guess. It starts with "Wolf " and ends with "being here."
He turned to me "Is it the same with you for Scarlemagne?" I lowered my head in sadness, not even wanting to answer that. Kipo looked to the side "Yeah...it's just, whenever I imagined this, and I imagined it many times, heh...I always thought she'd be with me." She looked off into the distance smiling at herself while Dave and I listened. "Our song would play and I'd say, "Ah! Let's dance!" And she'd go, "Kipo, no." And I'd go, "You know you're gonna!"
Once she stopped her face saddened again as their song came on. "Our song. I just can't enjoy this without Wolf." I stand up and walked over to her "And I can't really enjoy this without Hugo." She smiled sadly at me as we share a side hug. Dave asked us "Well, what would make y'all feel better? A chocolate covered sweater, huh? Would y'all like that?" I whispered in her ear "I'm more of a (favorite flavor) kind of person." She made a light chuckle as Dave continued to cheer us up.
"A donut made of suede? Suede donuts?" All of a sudden we hear flamingos squawk as we look up to see Wolf and Hugo fly down on his flamingos. Tears filled our eyes as our smiles widened in awe as Wolf landed on the ground and Kipo dashed over to her. It seemed like they couldn't do it, and honestly I'm glad they didn't. I carefully walked over to them, but was stopped when Hugo started making an announcement. We all listened closely to what he was about to say as my attention was fully directed on him.
"Ah, I know I've hurt all of you. But I've come to believe in the future that Kipo's trying to make for all of us, and I want to help, however I can. If you can forgive me." Soon after, everyone started forgiving each other as some hugged and shook hands. But they stopped once they heard Hugo calling every to gather around. "I do have one more thing to announce, so please, would you all quiet down for this part." He hopped down on the ground as he held out his hand. "(Y/n).." I blinked in confusion wondering what he was talking about until Kipo and Wolf brought me into the center of the crowd as they quickly left to stand on the sides.
Hugo walked up to me as he grasped my hand and got down on one knee, a gasp escaped my lips as I covered my mouth with my other hand. "(Y/f/n) (Y/l/n), ever since that day we met, when you first given me that blanket, I've always felt there was something special about you. It started out as a wonderful friendship that slowly bloomed into the love we share today. You are the only person who makes me feel like the most luckiest person in the whole world. And there isn't anything I would trade for that.
"Aww's" were heard from the crowd as tears start running down my cheeks. Hugo's smile flattened "Losing you that day we got separated devastated me. It felt like half my heart was taken from me. But the more I couldn't find you, the more of its effect it had on me. I turned into this maniacal tyrant that wanted power, and when we reunited....I felt whole again, but not at the same time. I didn't want you to see the monster I turned out to be, and yet....deep down you still loved me."
"You never gave up on me, on us. And I don't want to give that up either." He slowly kissed the back of my hand as he stared into my eyes "I wasn't certain before, but I'm certain now. And there isn't any other person I want to share my life with, have a family with, and grow old with...than with you, mon amour. So, I'm asking you this..." he let go of my hand and reached into his pocket and held out the tiny box I recognized and opened it to reveal a beautiful golden coated diamond ring.
The crowd gasped along with me as I covered my mouth, tears streaming constantly once he asked me "(Y/n), will you marry me?" Everyone looked in my direction waiting for an answer as I nod vigorously at him screaming "YES!" Everyone cheered for us as he slipped the ring onto my finger as he picked me up and spun me around. We ended it with a deep kiss and hugged. Everyone came up to us while congratulating as they complimented on the ring. I asked Hugo "How did you even come up with all this?"
He called out to everyone as he raised his arms in the air "I had help!" Everyone cheered loudly at him as I look at Kipo and them "You guys were all in on this? You knew" they laughed giving me nervous waves and nods. I look back down at my ring "How'd you even get a ring like this?"He bashfully rubbed his neck "I've....been saving it actually...for when I wanted finally ask you. One of the elderly humans I imprisoned back then saw my affections towards you and offered her ring to me."
"She said she lost her husband years ago from the Outbreak, and that it would make her happy to have someone else be wed with it." He rubbed his thumb over the ring as his smiled faded "She died though...and I was never able to let her know how thankful I was because of that."I caressed his cheek "Oh, I'm sorry, Hugo. I'm sure she's looking down at us wishing us the best!" He helped my hand "Yes, I'm sure she is. Do you like the coating? That's real gold right there for you."
He had a smug grin on his face as my eyes widened in surprise "Really? Wow! That's amazing...god, how'd you know I have a thing for gold?" He gave me a nod "See? That's another thing we have in common. What my lady wants, my lady gets." He winked at me as he picked me up and spun me around again giving me small kisses here and there.
A certain song came up as the crowd begins to circle around us. Kipo spoke up "I think the newly engaged couple deserve to have their first dance! What do ya say, guys?!" She raised her hands in the air as everyone else did the same, encouraging us to dance together. Me and Hugo looked shocked, but complied as he took my hand and wrapped his arm around my waist as we swayed to the music.

He suddenly dipped me and brought me back up as I gasped in surprise. He smirked at me and started leading me away as we danced in unison, spinning around the crowd that stared at us in amazement. He'd pick me up a few times while spinning while I did perfect pirouettes.

Soon enough, everyone joined in as they all danced the night away. This Prahm made everyone come together, even me and my new fiancé, Hugo. I was so happy that we were gonna be married. So happy that everything we've worked so hard for is finally paying off. Kipo walked up to Filburn "Mr. Filburn? Now would be a really great time for those fireworks!" He gave her a thumbs up "Oh! Sure thing, Kipo-" "WAIT! NO!" Hoag pushed past everyone as he said out loud "I thought I was doing the right thing, but now I know it's not."
Doag stared at her father "Dad, what are you talking about?" He shamefully looked down "Emilia had Greta and I sabotage their fireworks. If they go off, they'll shower the whole party in the cure." Everyone gasped as an arrow shot one of the lightbulbs as I feel Hugo's arm wrapped protectively around me. We look up to see Emilia all dressed and had her people loaded with crossbows and torches. "Oh, Hoag, I'm so disappointed in you." She said coldly to him and yells "Light'em up!"
They lit the fireworks as they took off into the sky and made a mass explosion.
We were in deep trouble...
