A young Lilith Calloway stands in district twelves town square. It's reaping day, a day where two unlucky children from each district are brutally taken from their families, and it's her first one. This is the first time she stands in that square, painfully aware of the fact that her name is in that bowl. Four times to be exact.

       She stands tall — as tall as a twelve year old can — and watches as a single piece of paper is taken out. A name is said into the microphone and Lilith lets out a sigh of relief. It's not her. The grip she holds on her cousins hand loosens. She will live to see another year, another sunrise on reaping day.

A sixteen year old Lilith Calloway stands in that same square, except she's long since accepted her reality.

This year, the 50th annual hunger games, there's a twist, as there is on every quarter quell. Instead of only two kids being reaped from each district, four are being reaped. That makes a grand total of forty-eight tributes being sent to fight to their deaths, simply for capitol entertainment.

       Now it's her siblings first reaping, and she's made the choice that if any of their names are called, she will volunteer. She can't stomach the thought of sending her innocent, pure, siblings into a place that would take their innocence and tear it to shreds.

       Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you view it) for Lilith, she doesn't have to make that choice.

       A Calloway is reaped, but it's not Liam, nor is it Eurydice. It's Lilith.

       And Haymitch Abernathy's world is turned upside down. His girl, the girl from the merchant district who always used to share food with him, was now being handed a death sentence.

       Now, it certainly doesn't help that he's found himself up on that stage with her, along with two other unlucky kids.

       Lilith has a choice to make: herself or Haymitch. And truth is, she isn't sure she's strong enough to make that choice.

I'm so so so excited to write this fic I'm literally jumping up and down around my room 😭😭 my innocent angel princess Lilith Calloway is HOME!!

       Was lowk listening to hard for by Kevin Gates while thinking of the synopsis... don't rlly like it but I don't like any synopsis I write Tbh.

       Anyways... this is in fact part of a duology (hence the 1 in subscript) and so Lilith will be mentioned in the second book, which will be a finnick fic!

      I'm officially on spring break so I'll be getting out chapters pretty quickly hopefully... so anyways ENJOY!
