Choi Beomgyu and Kang Taehyun were an inseparable pair.

they became friends in high school and by the end of it, they were one of the most unbreakable couples on campus.

it has now been six years since the two have been dating and.. Beomgyu knows it's time to make it completely official.

"Yeonjun, can i talk to you in the other room?"

Beomgyu leaned across the sofa and whispered to his friend who was sat next to him. the five friends, Beomgyu, Taehyun, Yeonjun, Soobin and Huening Kai were all having a movie night.

you're never too old for that kind of thing!

Yeonjun flinched a little after hearing Beomgyu's whisper but agreed to go with the younger male.

the two of them stood up one at a time and quietly snuck out of the living room and into Beomgyu and Taehyun's shared bedroom.

Beomgyu then closed the door behind him and sighed deeply once it was fully shut. he then walked over to the closet in the corner and pulled out a small shoe box.

Yeonjun watched curiously as Beomgyu brought the box over to the bed and sat down with it.

"are you just gonna stand there? i have something to show you!"

Beomgyu whisper-shouted so that the guys in the other room wouldn't hear him. Yeonjun quickly walked over to the bed and sat down next to Beomgyu.

the younger male then took a small velvet box out of the bigger shoe box and Yeonjun's jaw dropped as he realised what it was.

"oh my God, you're finally going to do it?"

Yeonjun spoke loudly, causing Beomgyu to put the smaller box away and put a hand over the olders mouth. Yeonjun got the hint to be quiet.

"yes. and i need your help. Soobin still has that acoustic guitar right?"

Yeonjun nodded, a smile making its way onto his face.

"are you going to serenade him?"

"yeah.. is that too much? do you think he'll hate it?"

Yeonjun's eyes widened and he shook his head so fast he almost made himself light-headed.

"he's gonna love it! do you know what song you're going to play?"

just as Beomgyu was about to respond, the bedroom door flew open and Taehyun was stood there rubbing one of his eyes.

Beomgyu's eyes softened at the sight of the half awake Taehyun.

"why are you both here? the movie hasn't finished yet"

Beomgyu stood up with a soft smile and pulled Taehyun into a hug, the younger boy complying just because he was tired.

Yeonjun took this moment to exit the bedroom, leaving the couple alone.

"are you sleepy?"

Taehyun nodded into the hug and almost jolted awake in shock as Beomgyu picked him up from the ground and carried him to the bed.

Beomgyu then tucked him under the covers, the soft smile still on his face.

"i'll go get the others to leave, alright?"

still too tired to speak, Taehyun nodded again. he then laid in silence as he could hear the muffled voices of Beomgyu and their friends saying goodbyes.

it wasn't much longer until the bedroom door slowly opened again and Beomgyu was quietly walking in.

"are you asleep yet?"

"..no.."

Taehyun finally spoke again, but his voice came out in a mumble. an endearing smile was back on Beomgyu's face as he lowered the brightness of the light and laid down next to Taehyun.

the pair stared at each other for a while, just enjoying the company of each other.

"hey Tae?"

"hm?"

Taehyun's eyes were now closed but Beomgyu knew he was still awake and listening.

"what's your favourite song?"

the younger boy shuffled slightly under the covers and opened his eyes again.

"favourite? i've been listening to this song called Angel 2 Me a lot recently.. so maybe that.."

he closed his eyes again and leaned closer into Beomgyu's touch.

"why do you ask?"

"oh.. no reason"

Beomgyu smiled to himself as the two finally fell asleep.

the next morning was a confusing morning for Taehyun. Beomgyu wasn't in bed when he woke up, and when he went to check where he was, all he found was a note on the fridge.

'i had to leave early for work today, and i'll be arriving home late too. you can eat whatever you want for the day since i'll be ordering food at work'

it was just all so.. odd?

Taehyun stared at the note with a sigh and nerves filled his body. Beomgyu doesn't even work on Mondays.

"thank you for letting me use this, hopefully i still know how to play"

Beomgyu smiled as he looked down at the guitar in his arms. he hadn't played since high school.

"my best friend is finally getting proposed to by his boyfriend! you know i'd help without hesitation"

Soobin spoke with a bright smile. him and Taehyun had grown up together since childhood, their parents being friends.

Beomgyu looked up the song Taehyun had told him about the night before, and started listening to it. he really has good taste in music.

Beomgyu spent the whole week at Yeonjun and Soobin's place, learning Taehyun's favourite song on the guitar.

on the other hand..

Taehyun spent the whole week wondering what Beomgyu was doing. he trusted the older enough to know he wasn't doing anything bad, but he was still curious as to what was going on.

"Tae, wake up"

"huh?"

"i want to take you somewhere.."

"Gyu it's.. midnight? what are you doing awake?"

"come on, it's important. wrap up warm"

Beomgyu left the room with an excited, yet nervous, look on his face. and even though he was confused, Taehyun did what Beomgyu told him to do.

"why are we at the park in the middle of the night?

Beomgyu let go of Taehyun's hand and began walking towards a bench which happened to have a guitar laid on top of it.

Beomgyu then nervously picked up the guitar and sighed deeply before turning back to Taehyun.

"i uh, there was a reason i asked what your favourite song was, and for this past week i've been learning it almost to perfection.. so um-"

he nervously coughed before beginning to play the song. and although he was still slightly tired, Taehyun could see Beomgyu's hands shaking as he was playing the song.

he sat down on the bench and smiled as he listened to Beomgyu singing the verses as if it was his own song.

Taehyun didn't think he could love Beomgyu more than he already did, but this night proved that he could.

once the song came to an end, Beomgyu sat down next to Taehyun on the bench and looked into the youngers eyes shyly.

Taehyun saw Beomgyu fiddling with his fingers through the corner of his eye, so he reached down and grabbed the olders hand into his, intertwining their fingers.

"do you remember how we first met?"

Taehyun looks up at Beomgyu and finds his eyes that were once shy, were now sparkling. then he nodded.

"i remember you spilling your coffee all over my brand new shirt in the middle of the school cafeteria"

a cheeky smile formed on Beomgyu's face as he leaned his body closer, the two now sat with not even an inch of space between them.

"i knew back then that.. that you were gonna be the one"

"you knew by spilling hot coffee on me?"

"you're never going to let that go, are you?"

the pair laughed together as Taehyun shook his head.

"i feel like from the moment i met you, i knew i wanted to be with you for the rest of my life"

Taehyun's eyes widened as he saw Beomgyu reach for the back pocket of his jeans, the situation finally hitting him.

"and.. i think- no, i know i'm ready to spend it with you"

Beomgyu opened the small velvet box that was in his hands and held it in front of him, and Taehyun could now feel his eyes tearing up.

the whole week he was worried about how Beomgyu was arriving home late from work, and going out on days he didn't have work.. but the reason why was right in front of him.

"Kang Taehyun, will you marry me?"

a tear finally fell from Taehyun's eye and he nodded almost instantly.

"yes! oh my God"

he didn't let Beomgyu react because he immediately cupped the older males face and pulled him into a sweet kiss.

Beomgyu moved his free hand to the back of Taehyun's head and ran his fingers through the youngers hair, which he knows Taehyun likes.

the kiss didn't last long but it was long enough for the pair to convey their feelings. they couldn't stop smiling as they pulled back and leaned into each other.

Beomgyu cautiously took the ring out it's box and slid it onto Taehyun's ring finger and watched how the smile wouldn't drop from his, now fiancé's, face.

"how did you do this? i mean, what if the guitar was stolen?"

"a magician never reveals his secrets"

"..then why is Yeonjun hiding behind that tree over there?"

Beomgyu's face fell into a shocked expression and a quiet gasp was heard in the distance, causing Taehyun to laugh and lean his head onto Beomgyu's shoulder.

"i love you"

"i love you too"
