Chapter 28
Jungkook finished adjusting Taehyung's pajamas, ensuring he was perfectly comfortable. He sat back on the bed, reaching out to gently brush Taehyung's hair from his face, his gaze filled with a protective tenderness.
"Now, rest, dramatic darling," Jungkook murmured, his voice soft. "Just focus on sleeping. I'll be right here."
Taehyung, however, didn't close his eyes. He looked up at Jungkook, his gaze unexpectedly intense, a peculiar request forming on his lips. His earlier exhaustion and pain still lingered, but a different kind of need, a primal craving for comfort and reassurance, seemed to surface.
"Bunny Boss," Taehyung whispered, his voice a little hesitant, but with a surprising clarity. "Can I... can I have something else?"
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Another story? More hot chocolate?"
Taehyung shook his head slowly. He shifted closer, his hand reaching out, his fingers delicately brushing against Jungkook's chest, right over where Jungkook's pectoral muscles swelled subtly beneath his shirt. His eyes, wide and searching, met Jungkook's.
"Your... your chest," Taehyung whispered, his voice incredibly soft, almost childlike in its vulnerability. "It feels so warm. So safe. Can I... can I just... lay my head there? And... and maybe... you know... suck on your... your Bunny Boss nipple?" He looked up, his cheeks flushing slightly despite himself, but his gaze remained earnest, filled with a deep, unspoken need for primal comfort. "Just for a little while? It feels like it would make everything okay."
Jungkook's eyes widened, a flicker of surprise, then a wave of profound, overwhelming tenderness washing over him. The request was utterly unexpected, utterly vulnerable, a pure, almost infantile demand for comfort from the pain and trauma. He saw the genuine need in Taehyung's eyes, the way his body was still trembling faintly from the day's ordeal.
Who was Jungkook to say no to his dramatic darling, especially now? Especially when Taehyung was hurting, and seeking such raw, intimate solace from him?
A soft, knowing smile spread across Jungkook's face, his heart aching with an intensity of protectiveness he rarely allowed himself to show. He gently pulled Taehyung closer, settling him against his chest.
"Dramatic darling," Jungkook murmured, his voice thick with overwhelming affection, "of course you can. Anything you need to feel safe. Anything at all." He reached down, unbuttoning a few buttons of his own silk shirt, giving Taehyung direct access. "Here. Come here." He gently guided Taehyung's head, pressing it against his chest. "Take whatever comfort you need. I'm not going anywhere." He wrapped his arms around Taehyung, holding him tight, letting the profound solace of their connection wash over them both.
The next morning, the wounds on Taehyung's face were still visible, a faint purple bloom beneath his skin, but his spirits, remarkably, seemed to be on the mend. Jungkook had fussed over him until the last possible moment, ensuring he was comfortable and reassured before finally allowing him to prepare for college. Jimin, though still shaken from the previous day's events, was determined to stick closer to Taehyung than ever before.
As Jungkook's sleek black car pulled up to the college gate, Taehyung leaned forward, a casual comment ready on his lips. But his words died as he looked out the window.
The usual bustling campus entrance looked... different. There were no less than half a dozen figures, dressed in sharp, dark suits, scattered discreetly but noticeably around the main gates. Their posture was alert, their gazes constantly sweeping the area. They looked less like students or faculty, and more like highly trained, very dangerous professionals.
"Bunny Boss," Taehyung whispered, his eyes wide. "What... what's going on?"
Jungkook, seated calmly beside him, simply smiled, a hint of steel in his eyes. "A personal security detail, dramatic darling. For your continued safety. They'll be ensuring your academic journey proceeds without... further interruptions."
Jimin, who had also noticed the unusual presence, let out a soft groan. "You mean they're here for us? All of them?"
"Specifically for Taehyung," Jungkook corrected, his gaze softening as he looked at the younger man. "No more 'unexpected' encounters in the washroom, dramatic darling. Not while you're under my protection."
Taehyung, initially wide-eyed, then broke into a slow, mischievous grin. He loved attention, and this was attention on a grand, highly dramatic scale. "Oh, my god, Jiminie! Look! They're like my personal army! Bunny Boss sent me bodyguards!" He bounced excitedly in his seat. "This is incredible! I'm practically a celebrity now!"
Jimin buried his face in his hands. "We are never going to have a normal day again, are we?"
Jungkook chuckled, leaning in to press a quick, firm kiss to Taehyung's unbruised temple. "Go on, dramatic darling. Have a productive day. My team will ensure your safety." He glanced at one of his agents, who was already approaching the car. "And if you need anything at all, anything, just signal one of them. They are at your disposal."
Taehyung beamed, already unbuckling his seatbelt. "Thank you, Bunny Boss! You're the best bodyguard provider ever!" He paused, then looked at Jungkook with a slight frown. "But... you're not coming in with us?"
Jungkook shook his head. "I have a meeting at headquarters. An important meeting. But know that I'm keeping an eye on everything."
Taehyung nodded, then opened the car door with a flourish. As he stepped out, he gave a regal wave to the surrounding security detail, who remained stoic and unmoving.
"Come on, Jiminie!" Taehyung declared, already marching towards the gate, seemingly oblivious to the stares they were receiving. "My personal security team is waiting! Today, we own this campus!"
Jimin, sighing deeply, slowly followed, casting one last desperate look at Jungkook's car. He knew his attempts at a normal college life were now officially over.
Taehyung sat in his first class of the day, Introduction to Marketing, ostensibly taking notes. Professor Kim was discussing branding strategies, but Taehyung's focus kept drifting. His head was tilted slightly, his eyes fixed on the hallway outside the classroom door.
Sure enough, two of Jungkook's men stood there, unobtrusive yet undeniably present. One was leaning casually against the wall, arms crossed, while the other periodically scanned the busy corridor. They were like silent, unmoving statues, guardians at his gate.
Taehyung stifled a giggle, covering his mouth with his hand. "Jiminie," he whispered, nudging his best friend, "look at them! They're like my personal sentinels! Do you think they have earpieces? Can Bunny Boss hear us right now?"
Jimin, who was actually trying to absorb the difference between product and brand, sighed heavily. "Taehyung, they're not here to be your entertainment. They're here because you got into a fight yesterday. Try to focus on the lecture, please."
"But it's so much more interesting to have a personal security detail!" Taehyung whispered back, ignoring Jimin's plea. He imagined Jungkook, somewhere in his high-tech headquarters, watching a tiny screen showing Taehyung being diligently guarded. He puffed out his chest slightly. "I bet Bunny Boss is so proud of how well they're guarding me. He probably told them to be extra vigilant."
He then raised his hand. "Professor Kim!"
The marketing professor paused, looking at Taehyung expectantly. "Yes, Mr. Kim?"
"Is it a good branding strategy," Taehyung began, gesturing vaguely towards the door, "to have a very visible, highly intimidating security presence for your... brand ambassador? Does it convey strength? Or perhaps an air of exclusive, dramatic importance?"
Professor Kim blinked, clearly thrown off course. "Mr. Kim, while security can indeed convey an image of value or exclusivity in certain contexts, we are discussing product branding, not... personal security. Please, let's return to the four P's of marketing."
Taehyung slumped back in his chair, seemingly disappointed. "Fine. No personal branding insights." He then leaned into Jimin again. "See, Jiminie? Even Professor Kim thinks my security detail is 'highly intimidating.' That's a success in itself, wouldn't you say? Bunny Boss chose well."
Jimin just pinched the bridge of his nose, mentally counting down the minutes until lunch. He knew, with a sinking feeling, that this was only the beginning of Taehyung's campus-wide "security show."
Lunch break arrived, a chaotic swirl of students descending upon the college cafeteria. Jimin, anticipating the usual scramble for a table, was already feeling exhausted. Taehyung, however, moved with an almost regal air, his gaze sweeping the room with an eager gleam.
As they approached the bustling serving lines, two of Jungkook's security detail, the same ones from outside the classroom, stepped forward. They moved with quiet efficiency, cutting through the crowd. One of them held a large, insulated bag.
"Mr. Kim, Mr. Park," one of the guards said, his voice flat but polite. "Your lunch has been prepared."
Taehyung beamed, a triumphant grin spreading across his face as heads started to turn. "Oh, perfect timing! See, Jiminie? Bunny Boss never forgets my nutritional needs!" He then addressed the guard. "Is it from Chef Minjun? Did he make my favorite bulgogi with extra rice?"
"Yes, Mr. Kim. Chef Minjun personally oversaw the preparation," the guard confirmed, opening the bag to reveal two pristine, multi-tiered bento boxes, complete with various side dishes and fresh fruit, a stark contrast to the cafeteria's standard fare. A separate thermos held what smelled like a gourmet soup.
Jimin's jaw dropped. "Chef Minjun? The one who trained in Paris?" He looked at Taehyung, then back at the security guards holding their elaborate lunch. "Are you serious? Jungkook sent us a five-star meal to the college cafeteria?"
Taehyung took his bento box, inhaling deeply. "Of course! Only the best for his dramatic darling! And for my loyal sidekick!" He winked at Jimin, then gave an approving nod to the guards. "Excellent work, gentlemen! You may stand guard while we replenish our energy."
The two guards, unfazed, simply nodded and moved to stand a few feet away, their presence forming an unspoken barrier around Taehyung and Jimin's chosen table. Whispers immediately erupted around them. Students pointed, their eyes wide with curiosity and envy.
"I can't believe this," Jimin muttered, carefully opening his own bento box, revealing an equally exquisite meal. "This is beyond ridiculous. Everyone is staring."
Taehyung, however, was in his element. He took a dramatic bite of bulgogi, chewing slowly with an air of immense satisfaction. "Let them stare, Jiminie! This is a statement! It says, 'I am Kim Taehyung, and my Bunny Boss spoils me rotten, even at college!'" He then leaned closer, lowering his voice slightly, though still loud enough for a few nearby students to overhear. "I bet those bullies from yesterday are somewhere in this cafeteria, eating their sad, uninspired lunch. This is karmic justice, served with extra bulgogi."
He then looked at his bodyguard. "Tell Bunny Boss that his dramatic darling's energy levels are being optimally restored! And to expect grand things this afternoon!"
The guard gave a slight, almost imperceptible nod, clearly relaying the message through his earpiece. Jimin just sighed, shaking his head. His life had officially become a reality show, and Taehyung was the undisputed, dramatically pampered star.
Taehyung was halfway through his second helping of bulgogi, regaling Jimin with his theories on how luxury bento boxes could revolutionize campus politics, when he heard a faint, familiar name.
"Boss," one of the guards standing nearby murmured into his earpiece, almost imperceptibly. "Mr. Kim is enjoying his lunch. Minor... escalation of dramatic behavior, but within parameters."
Taehyung immediately perked up, his ears twitching like a curious cat. He stopped mid-chew and turned to the guard. "Did you just say 'Boss'? Were you talking to my Bunny Boss?"
The guard, a stoic man named Agent kang, simply gave a polite nod. "I was relaying a report, Mr. Kim."
Taehyung's eyes widened, a mischievous glint sparkling in them. He pointed at the tiny earpiece in Agent kang's ear. "Is that how you talk to him? Can I... can I talk to him too? Can I have an earpiece?" He leaned forward eagerly. "It's for security purposes! To ensure optimal communication during my campus operations!"
Agent Lee glanced briefly at his partner, then, with a subtle movement, received a silent confirmation through his own earpiece. He removed the small device from his ear. "Mr. Jeon anticipates your request, Mr. Kim. He advises... brevity."
Taehyung practically snatched the earpiece. "Brevity? For me? Impossible!" He carefully, if a little awkwardly, fitted the earpiece into his own ear. "Hello? Bunny Boss? Can you hear me? It's your dramatic darling! Did you get my message about the bulgogi?"
There was a brief moment of static, then Jungkook's voice, surprisingly clear and calm, filtered into Taehyung's ear. "I hear you, dramatic darling. And yes, Chef Minjun confirmed your satisfaction. What do you need?" His voice, usually a deep rumble in person, now held a faint, almost intimate buzz directly in Taehyung's ear.
Taehyung beamed, feeling a thrilling connection. "Oh, nothing much! Just wanted to say thank you for the delicious lunch! And to confirm that my security team is doing an excellent job of being intimidating! Everyone's staring! It's very dramatic!" He paused, then his voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper. "And are you finished with those bad guys? The ones from yesterday? Did you teach them a very good lesson?"
On the other end, Jungkook sighed, a sound that was half exasperation, half indulgent amusement. "The lesson is ongoing, dramatic darling. And will be thorough. Now, are you focusing on your classes? No more... napping?"
Taehyung giggled, leaning back in his chair. "Well, I'm focusing on my classes. Professor Lee still doesn't appreciate my statistical genius. But don't worry! I'm learning a lot about branding! Did you know a strong security presence sends a message of exclusive importance?"
Jungkook's voice hummed in his ear. "I do, Taehyung. Now, finish your lunch. I have a very important call coming in. I'll check in later."
"Okay, Bunny Boss!" Taehyung replied, a wide, triumphant smile on his face. He pulled the earpiece out. "He heard me, Jiminie! He really heard me! And he said the lesson is 'ongoing'!" He handed the earpiece back to a stoic Agent Lee. "Tell him I said hi again! And that I'm planning something truly memorable for the afternoon!"
Jimin simply stared at the earpiece, then back at Taehyung. "You really have no filter when you're connected directly to him, do you?"
Taehyung just shrugged, taking another bite of bulgogi. "Why would I? He needs to know everything! Especially when it involves my dramatic genius!" He was already plotting his next grand move, now with a direct line to his Bunny Boss.
The afternoon classes eventually dragged to a close. As the final bell rang, Taehyung, already brimming with renewed energy, began gathering his belongings. Jimin, resigned to his fate, slowly packed his own.
"Alright, Jiminie," Taehyung declared, slinging his now empty backpack over one shoulder with a flourish. "Time for the grand exit! I wonder if Bunny Boss has sent a new car today? Maybe a convertible for dramatic flair!"
As they stepped out of the building, two of Jungkook's guards, Agent Kang and his partner, immediately moved to flank them. Agent Kang, a tall, imposing figure, stepped forward and, without a word, relieved Taehyung of his bag. His partner similarly took Jimin's.
"Your vehicle awaits, Mr. Kim," Agent Kang stated, his voice a low, steady rumble. "Agent Park will escort Mr. Park."
Taehyung beamed, puffing out his chest. "See, Jiminie? Full service! Even my bag gets special treatment!" He then turned to Agent Kang. "Agent Kang, do you think Bunny Boss is watching this on a very large screen right now? Is he admiring my effortlessly elegant stride?"
Agent Kang maintained a stoic expression, his gaze sweeping the surroundings. "Mr. Jeon is aware of your movements, Mr. Kim."
"Excellent!" Taehyung exclaimed, already walking with an exaggerated spring in his step, leading the way towards the college gates. Students in the hallway stared, openly gawking at the sight of the two students, one with a noticeable bruise, being essentially escorted by intimidating, suit-clad men who carried their backpacks.
"This is mortifying," Jimin muttered under his breath, walking slightly behind Taehyung. "I feel like we're in some kind of highly expensive, terribly embarrassing, reality show."
Taehyung, however, was in his element. He glanced back at Jimin, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Mortifying? Jiminie, this is elevated living! This is what happens when your best friend's dramatic brilliance attracts the unwavering devotion of a powerful figure!" He then looked ahead, catching sight of the familiar sleek black car pulling up. "Oh, there's the car! Agent Kang, tell Bunny Boss I'm ready for my royal transport!"
Agent Kang, already anticipating their arrival, had the car door open before they even reached it. He gestured for them to get in.
As Taehyung settled into the plush leather seat, he looked at Agent Kang, who was now placing their bags in the trunk. "Agent Kang, did Bunny Boss mention anything about my plan for this afternoon? My 'truly memorable' one?"
Agent Kang closed the trunk with a soft thud. "Mr. Jeon simply stated to ensure your comfort and safety at all times, Mr. Kim."
Taehyung sighed dramatically. "Such a spoilsport! He never wants to give away his secrets! But that's okay, I'll just surprise him then!" He leaned back in his seat, a contented smile on his face. "To the mansion, James!" he declared to the driver, earning a barely perceptible twitch of the driver's lips.
Jimin just leaned his head against the window, watching the campus fade away. His college life was definitely not going according to plan.
The sleek black car purred to a stop before the grand entrance of Jungkook's mansion. As Agent Kang opened the door, Taehyung practically bounded out, Jimin trailing behind with a weary sigh.
"Finally home!" Taehyung exclaimed, stretching dramatically. "I can practically smell Chef Minjun's evening delights already!"
As they stepped into the opulent foyer, however, a peculiar scene unfolded near the grand staircase. Two of Jungkook's usually unflappable staff members were standing a cautious distance from Luna's large, custom-built terrarium. One held a pair of long tongs, at the end of which dangled a small, frozen mouse. The other held a towel, looking utterly perplexed.
Luna, Taehyung's magnificent boa constrictor, was coiled regally within her habitat, her scales gleaming under the soft light. But she wasn't her usual docile self. Her head was raised, her body tense, and she was letting out a series of sharp, agitated hisses, her forked tongue flicking rapidly in and out, tasting the air with a distinct lack of enthusiasm for the offered meal.
"She... she won't eat, Mr. Kim," one of the staff members ventured, looking utterly defeated. "We've tried everything. She just keeps hissing."
Taehyung's eyes widened, a look of immediate concern replacing his earlier exuberance. He rushed towards the terrarium. "Luna! My dramatic darling! What's wrong, my little scaled angel?"
He peered into the terrarium, his expression shifting from concern to a knowing exasperation. "Did you forget to warm it up properly, again?" he asked the staff, pointing a finger at the frozen mouse. "She's a diva, not a barbarian! She needs her food thawed to perfection! She's very particular about her cuisine!"
The staff member wrung his hands. "We followed the instructions precisely, Mr. Kim. It's been thawed for hours."
Luna let out another indignant hiss, flicking her tongue towards the offending mouse.
Taehyung sighed, shaking his head. "Honestly, this is why I have to do everything myself. Some people just don't understand the delicate nuances of serpentine psychology." He looked at Luna, his voice dropping to a soothing coo. "It's okay, my love. Papa's home now. No more cold, sad dinners." He then turned to the staff with a dramatic flourish. "You may step aside. This requires a personal touch. And perhaps some interpretive dance."
Jimin, watching the scene from a safe distance, just shook his head. "Of course she's a diva. She learned from the best."
"Jiminie, shush!" Taehyung chastised, his attention fully on his demanding pet. "Luna needs a moment of peace and understanding before she deigns to accept sustenance. And I believe a fresh, perfectly warmed offering is in order. And perhaps a lullaby. She's a very sensitive creature."
The staff, clearly relieved, quickly retreated, leaving Taehyung to his unique brand of pet care. Taehyung, already crooning softly to Luna, began devising his strategy to coax his dramatic boa constrictor into accepting her dinner.
Taehyung gently tapped on the glass of Luna's terrarium, his voice soft and coaxing. "Alright, my little drama queen. Papa's here. No more tantrums, okay? We have to show these human servants how a truly discerning serpent dines."
He sent the staff scurrying to properly thaw another mouse, this time under his direct, meticulous supervision, ensuring it was warmed to the exact temperature he deemed acceptable for Luna's delicate palate. Once the offering was deemed perfect, Taehyung carefully opened the terrarium.
"See, Jiminie?" Taehyung whispered conspiratorially to his friend, who was watching with a mix of fascination and mild fear. "It's all about trust. And knowing her favorite temperature."
He slowly, gently, extended his hand, holding the thawed mouse by its tail. Luna, who had been watching him with intelligent, unblinking eyes, slowly uncoiled slightly. Her forked tongue flicked out, tasting the air around his hand, then the mouse. A moment of tense silence hung in the air.
Then, with a swift, almost imperceptible strike, Luna snatched the mouse from Taehyung's hand. She began to constrict it, a silent, powerful display of her predatory nature. Taehyung watched, a look of profound satisfaction on his face.
"There! Good girl, Luna! Good dramatic darling!" Taehyung cooed, rubbing the glass of the terrarium. "Didn't I tell you? Only Papa knows how to feed you properly." He turned to Jimin, a triumphant grin spreading across his face. "See, Jiminie? All they needed was a little more... artistic flair in their approach."
Jimin, who had been holding his breath, let it out slowly. "Taehyung, you just fed a boa constrictor a mouse with your bare hand. That's... unsettling."
"Nonsense!" Taehyung scoffed, waving a dismissive hand. "It's a bond! A connection! Luna simply prefers her meals delivered with a touch of paternal affection, not by clumsy tongs. It's a sign of our profound dramatic understanding." He beamed at Luna, who was now calmly consuming her meal. "Isn't that right, my love? You only eat from the hand that understands your soul!"
He then clapped his hands together, his attention already shifting. "Right! Now that Luna's dramatic demands have been met, it's time to plan my next grand endeavor. Jiminie, did you remember that gigantic box of glitter I ordered?"
Jimin groaned. Luna's dinner drama was clearly just the warm-up act.
The evening settled into a comfortable routine at Jungkook's mansion. After Luna's discerning dinner, Taehyung declared it "roaming time" for his beloved boa constrictor. Jimin, who had seen this spectacle before, wisely retreated to a safe distance, clutching a pillow defensively.
Taehyung, however, was in his element. He carefully removed Luna from her terrarium, draping her gently around his shoulders. Luna, now fed and content, glided silently, her cool scales a familiar weight.
"Alright, my dramatic darling," Taehyung cooed to Luna, "it's time to explore! You need to stretch those magnificent coils after being cooped up all day." He began to stroll through the mansion's opulent living areas, Luna draped elegantly around him.
The first unsuspecting victim was one of the housekeepers, quietly dusting a priceless antique vase. She looked up, saw the glistening serpent coiling around Taehyung's neck, and let out a startled shriek, dropping her duster and scrambling backward, nearly knocking over a priceless sculpture.
"Oh, dear," Taehyung said calmly, not missing a beat. "Luna, my love, you're scaring the staff. You must remember to be a benevolent queen, not a terrifying one." He then turned to the housekeeper. "Don't worry, she's perfectly harmless! Unless you're a mouse, of course. Or rude."
A few minutes later, in the kitchen, a chef was meticulously plating a dessert. Taehyung wandered in, Luna now draped across his outstretched arms, swaying gently. The chef, engrossed in his work, didn't notice until a sudden, low hiss escaped Luna as she tasted the air. He looked up, his eyes widening in pure terror as he saw the large snake. He let out a strangled yelp, dropping the dessert plate with a crash.
"Oh, Chef!" Taehyung exclaimed, looking at the broken dessert with genuine disappointment. "Now look what you've done! Luna just wanted to admire your artistry! She has a very refined aesthetic sense, you know." He then looked at Luna. "See, my love? They just don't appreciate true beauty. It's a tragedy, really."
One of the security guards, Agent Minho, who was on patrol, rounded a corner and came face to face with Taehyung, Luna now wrapped around his waist. Minho, ever the professional, didn't flinch, but his eyes, for a split second, widened almost imperceptibly. He quickly composed himself, though a muscle in his jaw twitched.
"Mr. Kim," Minho stated, his voice even, "Luna is... well. She's out."
"Indeed she is!" Taehyung beamed, proudly patting Luna's head. "It's her constitutional right to roam her kingdom! You should try it sometime, Agent Minho. It's very liberating! Doesn't she look majestic?"
Minho simply nodded, looking as though he'd rather be facing a hostile foreign dignitary than a boa constrictor on a casual stroll. "Very... majestic, Mr. Kim." He then subtly, almost imperceptibly, reached for his earpiece. "Boss, confirmation: Luna is currently on a self-guided tour of the ground floor. No immediate threats, aside from shattered dinnerware and terrified staff."
Taehyung, meanwhile, was already planning Luna's next stop. "Come on, Luna! Let's go see if the garden staff are properly trimming the hydrangeas! We must ensure horticultural excellence!"
Miles away, in the hushed confines of his headquarters in Seoul, Jungkook was reviewing complex market projections on a massive screen. His attention, however, was frequently diverted by the stream of reports coming through his earpiece from the mansion.
"Boss," Agent Minho's voice crackled through. "Confirmation: Luna has successfully completed her tour of the kitchen and is now approaching the west wing. Chef Kim is currently attempting to reassemble a shattered crème brûlée."
Jungkook sighed, a long, weary sound that was quickly followed by a faint, almost imperceptible chuckle. He rubbed his temples. "And the garden staff?" he murmured, thinking of Taehyung's last declaration.
"Sir, we have reports of a gardener currently suspended from a rose trellis," another agent's voice reported, trying to maintain professionalism. "He claims he 'flinched' upon seeing Luna emerge from a hedge."
Jungkook leaned back in his executive chair, a faint, exasperated smile playing on his lips. "Of course. My dramatic darling and his majestic pet." He could almost perfectly picture Taehyung, utterly oblivious to the chaos his boa constrictor was causing, probably cooing praises to Luna for her "graceful exploration."
He pressed a button on his comms. "Jungwoo, are you seeing this?"
"Affirmative, Boss," Jungwoo's voice replied, a hint of suppressed amusement in his tone. "The staff is... quite terrified. We've had three near-misses with fainting spells. Should we initiate a lockdown protocol for non-essential personnel?"
Jungkook ran a hand through his hair. "No lockdown. Just... ensure no one actually gets harmed. And for heaven's sake, keep Luna away from the delicate antiques this time. And the fish pond. We don't need any more 'unfortunate accidents'." He paused, then a fresh wave of concern hit him. "And Taehyung? Is he enjoying himself?"
"Mr. Kim is absolutely beaming, Boss," Jungwoo confirmed. "He's currently explaining to Agent Kang the importance of serpentine mental well-being."
Jungkook shook his head, a genuine smile now gracing his face. "Of course he is. Alright. Let him have his fun. For now." He sighed, then his voice took on a more decisive tone. "However, effective immediately, Luna's 'roaming time' will require strict supervision. One, perhaps two, dedicated handlers at all times. And no access to the kitchen or any room containing fragile items. Arrange for a designated, secure 'play area' in the garden or a less-used section of the mansion. Something... snake-proof."
"Understood, Boss," Jungwoo acknowledged. "Shall I inform Mr. Kim directly, or would you prefer the... direct dramatic approach?"
Jungkook chuckled softly. "Oh, I'll handle the dramatic approach, Jungwoo. He'll protest, naturally. But Luna's well-being, and the sanity of my staff, depend on it. Make the arrangements."
He leaned forward, his focus returning to the projections, but a faint, indulgent smile remained on his lips. His dramatic darling's chaotic pet was certainly making his life... eventful. But the image of Taehyung, happy and carefree, even while causing widespread panic among his staff, was a small price to pay for his peace of mind.
The clock in the grand foyer chimed eight times. The mansion, which had been buzzing with Taehyung's antics and Luna's leisurely patrol for most of the afternoon, was now quiet, anticipating the return of its true master.
The soft hum of a powerful engine grew louder, then faded as Jungkook's car pulled up to the entrance. Agent Kang opened the door with practiced efficiency. Jungkook stepped out, looking impeccably sharp in his dark suit, though a faint weariness etched around his eyes betrayed the long day he'd endured. He was already pulling out his phone, likely preparing for more work.
But before he could even take a step inside, a blur of silk pajamas launched itself from the shadow of the staircase.
"Bunny Boss!" Taehyung shrieked, a sound of pure, unadulterated dramatic joy. He threw himself forward, arms wide, tackling Jungkook with an impressive, if slightly off-balance, leap.
Jungkook, caught completely by surprise, let out a soft grunt. His phone clattered to the marble floor, forgotten. He instinctively wrapped his arms around Taehyung, steadying them both as they almost stumbled. Taehyung clung to him, burying his face in Jungkook's neck, inhaling his familiar scent.
"Dramatic darling!" Jungkook exclaimed, a mix of exasperation and relief in his voice as he tightened his embrace. "I just walked in! Are you trying to give your Boss a heart attack after a long day?" He patted Taehyung's back, feeling the smaller man practically vibrating with excitement.
Taehyung pulled back just enough to look at Jungkook, his eyes sparkling, a wide, triumphant grin on his face. "You're home! You're finally home! I missed you like a flower misses the sun! Like Luna misses perfectly thawed mice!" He then frowned, looking at Jungkook's discarded phone. "Oh, no! Your important work device! Did I break it with my profound affection?"
Jungkook chuckled, leaning down to pick up his phone, miraculously unharmed. "It's fine, Taehyung. Nothing a little dramatic impact can't handle." He pulled Taehyung closer again, pressing a kiss to his hair. "And you, are you fine? You look far too energetic for someone who's had a rough day." He subtly assessed Taehyung's face for any new marks.
"Oh, I'm perfectly fine now that you're here!" Taehyung declared, already pulling Jungkook towards the living room. "But Bunny Boss, I have so much to tell you! About my classes, and the cafeteria, and Luna's grand tour! And I made a very important decision about my glitter cannon!"
Jungkook sighed, a long, indulgent sound. He allowed himself to be pulled along, the weariness of his day beginning to recede under the familiar, overwhelming presence of his dramatic darling. "Alright, alright. One thing at a time, dramatic darling. Let me at least take off my jacket." He knew his evening had just officially begun, and it would be anything but quiet.
After a delightful dinner prepared by Chef Minjun – a meal during which Taehyung recounted every dramatic detail of his day, from the campus security show to Luna's kitchen escapades – Jimin finally excused himself.
"I think I've had enough excitement for one day," Jimin said with a weary smile, patting Taehyung's shoulder. "I'm heading to my room. Try to keep the mansion in one piece, alright?"
"No promises, Jiminie!" Taehyung called after him, already turning his full attention back to Jungkook.
Jungkook chuckled, watching Jimin disappear down the corridor. He then turned to Taehyung, his gaze softening. "Alright, dramatic darling. It's getting late. Shall we head to bed?"
Taehyung's eyes lit up, a mischievous glint in them. He linked his arm through Jungkook's, pulling him towards Jungkook's bedroom. "Yes, Bunny Boss! It's been a long day of being a pampered star and dealing with... unpleasantness." He nudged Jungkook playfully. "You need to make up for leaving me all alone this morning."
As they entered the spacious bedroom, Jungkook's personal sanctuary, a sense of calm settled over them, a stark contrast to the day's events. The soft lighting cast a warm glow, and the plush bed invited them in. Jungkook started to unbutton his shirt, his movements slow and deliberate.
Taehyung watched him, then moved closer, his hand reaching out to gently touch Jungkook's bare chest as the shirt fell open. His fingers traced the hard line of Jungkook's pectoral muscle, then drifted lower, towards his waist.
"Bunny Boss," Taehyung whispered, his voice low and soft, a hint of vulnerability mixed with a deep longing. He looked up, his eyes meeting Jungkook's, wide and searching. "Today was... really hard. Even with you fixing everything." He swallowed, his thumb caressing Jungkook's skin. "Can we... can we be really close tonight? Even closer than before?"
Jungkook's hands stilled on his shirt. He looked down at Taehyung, understanding blooming in his eyes. He saw the lingering shadow of fear in Taehyung's gaze, the unspoken need for profound reassurance and deep, unwavering connection. The physical comfort he had provided earlier, the gentle ministrations, had soothed the pain, but the emotional wound, the violation, still needed to be healed.
Jungkook gently pulled Taehyung closer, his hands coming to rest on Taehyung's waist. "Dramatic darling," he murmured, his voice a low, steady rumble, thick with profound affection. "Tonight, we'll be as close as you need us to be. There's nothing in this world that can separate us. Not now, not ever." He leaned down, pressing a tender kiss to Taehyung's forehead, then to his unbruised cheek, then lingered on his lips. "Anything you need, my love. Anything at all."
He deepened the kiss, a silent promise of comfort, protection, and boundless intimacy.
Jungkook's quiet "Always" was all the encouragement Taehyung needed. He continued his gentle exploration, his lips still tracing the soft swell of Jungkook's breast, his fingers stroking lower, along the curve of Jungkook's hip. The air in the room grew warm with their shared intimacy, the only sounds the soft sighs and murmurs that escaped them both.
Taehyung lifted his head, his dark eyes fixed on Jungkook's face, now flushed and soft with vulnerable desire. "You make me feel so brave, Bunny Boss," Taehyung whispered, his voice laced with a raw honesty. "Even when I'm scared, you're my strength." He leaned down, placing a series of soft, lingering kisses along Jungkook's jawline, then his neck, drawing out the pleasure.
Jungkook arched into the touch, a deep, guttural moan vibrating in his chest. His hands, which had been gripping the sheets, now reached up, pulling Taehyung closer, tangling in his hair. "You're all the strength I need, dramatic darling," Jungkook breathed, his voice hoarse with emotion. He was completely surrendered, his body pliant beneath Taehyung's tender yet firm command.
Taehyung shifted, pressing his body flush against Jungkook's, feeling the warmth radiating between them. He felt Jungkook's arms wrap tightly around him, an embrace of complete trust. He reveled in the feeling of Jungkook's responsive movements, the soft sounds that escaped him, knowing he was the one evoking them.
"Let me take care of you tonight," Taehyung murmured, his lips brushing against Jungkook's ear. "Let me make you forget everything else." He pressed a kiss there, then moved his lips to Jungkook's. The kiss was slow, deep, and utterly consuming, a silent promise of endless comfort and unwavering devotion.
The next morning, the lingering tenderness from the night before was a warm, comforting hum beneath Taehyung's skin. Despite the bruise that still colored his cheek, he felt remarkably light and invigorated. He and Jimin were in the bustling college campus hallways, a symphony of chattering students and locker doors slamming, waiting for the bell to signal the start of their next class.
"Jiminie," Taehyung whispered, subtly nudging his friend. "Are you hungry? I have a feeling Bunny Boss might have packed us something extra special today after my incredible performance yesterday."
Jimin, who was leaning against the lockers, already looked resigned to the day. "Taehyung, it's barely nine in the morning. And yes, I'm sure Chef Minjun has already created a gourmet feast for your majesty. But can we just try to have a normal class first?"
Taehyung scoffed playfully. "Normal? Jiminie, 'normal' left the building the moment Bunny Boss assigned me my personal security detail. Speaking of which..." He subtly tilted his head.
Sure enough, a few paces away, Agent Kang and another one of Jungkook's men, Agent Park, were positioned. They weren't overtly intimidating, but their presence was undeniable. Their eyes constantly scanned the bustling hallway, missing nothing, their expressions utterly impassive. Students gave them a wide berth, whispering amongst themselves.
"See?" Taehyung whispered, beaming. "They're already on high alert! I bet they didn't even sleep. That's dedication, Jiminie. That's true loyalty to my dramatic brilliance." He then raised his voice slightly, directing it towards the guards. "Agent Kang! Agent Park! Is everything secure? No rogue accounting textbooks or dramatic statistics professors lurking about?"
Agent Kang, without breaking his vigilant scan of the hallway, gave a brief, almost imperceptible nod. "All clear, Mr. Kim. Campus environment is stable."
Jimin buried his face in his hands. "He just called the campus 'stable.' Like it's a military zone."
Taehyung, however, was delighted. "Perfect! That's what I like to hear! A stable environment for my scholarly pursuits! Bunny Boss certainly thinks of everything." He then leaned closer to Jimin, lowering his voice conspiratorially. "I wonder if they have little hidden microphones in their lapels? So Bunny Boss can hear all my brilliant observations throughout the day?"
Before Jimin could respond, the bell for class rang, its shrill sound echoing through the hallway. Taehyung clapped his hands together with gusto.
"To knowledge, Jiminie!" he declared, already striding towards his classroom, Agent Kang and Agent Park subtly falling into step a few paces behind them, their watchful eyes fixed on their charge.
The lunch break bell finally rang, a welcome reprieve after a particularly dull lecture on economic indicators. Taehyung, ever the creature of habit, had decided his first order of business was a quick trip to the washroom before braving the cafeteria. He left Jimin at their usual table.
"I'll be right back, Jiminie!" Taehyung called out, already half-skipping towards the washrooms. "Save me a good spot! And maybe mentally prepare yourself for Chef Minjun's latest culinary masterpiece!"
Jimin just waved vaguely, already resigned. "Just try not to cause an international incident in there!"
Taehyung, humming a cheerful tune, entered the washroom. It was mercifully empty. He splashed some cool water on his face, enjoying the momentary peace.
Outside the washroom door, Agent Kang and Agent Park had taken up their positions, their presence as solid and unyielding as a brick wall. Their eyes, sharp and alert, surveyed the bustling hallway.
A few moments later, a couple of male students approached, looking for the washroom. They stopped dead in their tracks as they saw the two imposing figures blocking the entrance.
"Excuse me, sirs?" one of the students, a gangly young man, ventured nervously. "We just... need to use the washroom."
Agent Kang, his face impassive, met their gaze. "The washroom is currently in use," he stated, his voice a low, firm rumble that left no room for argument. "You will need to wait."
The second student, slightly bolder, frowned. "Wait? For how long? It's just a washroom, not the Oval Office." He tried to peer around Agent Kang, but the guard subtly shifted, completely blocking his view.
Agent Park, equally unyielding, stepped forward slightly. "Access is restricted for the moment. Please remain here or find an alternative washroom." His tone was polite, but his stance was clearly non-negotiable.
The students exchanged bewildered glances. "But... there's usually no one guarding the bathroom," the gangly one mumbled, feeling increasingly uneasy under the intense scrutiny of the two men.
"There is today," Agent Kang replied simply, his gaze unwavering. He made no move to explain further, his silent authority speaking volumes.
Inside, Taehyung finished washing his hands, entirely oblivious to the small queue forming outside. He hummed contentedly, admiring his reflection. "Perfect," he murmured to himself. "Bunny Boss will be pleased with my pristine state." He then reached for the door, ready to rejoin Jimin and his gourmet lunch.
Taehyung, humming a cheerful tune, pushed open the washroom door. He stepped out, dressed casually in a crisp white shirt and blue jeans, looking refreshed and oblivious. He stopped short, however, as he saw the small, bewildered queue of students gathered outside, patiently (or impatiently) waiting.
"Oh!" Taehyung exclaimed, his eyes widening in surprise. He looked at the two students, then at Agent Kang and Agent Park, who stood like unmoving statues. "Are you all waiting for me? Did you need my autograph?" He grinned, ever the dramatic darling.
The students just stared, too stunned by the imposing presence of the guards to formulate a witty retort.
Agent Kang, ever professional, simply gave a slight nod to Taehyung. "Mr. Kim is now finished. The facilities are available."
Taehyung then beamed at the waiting students. "Oh, you wanted to use the washroom! My apologies! I was just... ensuring optimal cleanliness for future users. You may proceed!" He gestured grandly towards the open washroom door.
As Taehyung began to walk away, Agent Kang and Agent Park immediately fell into step behind him, their silent, watchful presence a constant shadow.
The two students exchanged bewildered glances, then cautiously edged past the guards and into the washroom. The moment they were inside, the gangly student turned to his friend.
"Did you see that?" he whispered, wide-eyed. "They literally just stood guard for him to use the bathroom. Who is that guy?"
His friend shook his head, still in disbelief. "I don't know, but he's got his own private army. And his lunch was apparently gourmet."
Outside, Taehyung was already a few paces ahead, oblivious to their confusion, chatting animatedly with Agent Kang. "Agent Kang, do you think Bunny Boss would approve of my choice of bulgogi for lunch? It was truly exquisite. A masterpiece, really. I might demand it every day now."
Agent Kang, his gaze sweeping the corridor, merely offered a curt, "Understood, Mr. Kim."
Taehyung sighed happily. "Perfect! Onwards to the cafeteria, then! My gourmet appetite awaits!" He marched off, his two silent guardians following his every move, a living testament to the unparalleled protection and indulgence of his Bunny Boss.
Taehyung sat at their usual table in the bustling cafeteria, a half-eaten gourmet sandwich in front of him, courtesy of Chef Minjun. Jimin, across from him, was trying to focus on a textbook, occasionally glancing up at the scene unfolding. Two of Jungkook's guards were a few feet away, subtly maintaining their protective perimeter.
Taehyung, however, was in his own world. He had just finagled the earpiece from Agent Kang again, insisting on a direct line to his "Bunny Boss" for a critical mid-day update.
"Bunny Boss? Are you there?" Taehyung whispered into the earpiece, trying to sound discreet but failing spectacularly. "It's your dramatic darling! Reporting live from the bustling campus cafeteria!"
A moment of static, then Jungkook's familiar voice, calm but with an underlying weariness, reached his ear. "I hear you, Taehyung. Are you eating? Are you safe?"
Taehyung beamed, picking up his sandwich. "Absolutely safe! Agent Kang and Agent Park are performing admirably. They even cleared the washroom for me! It was very dramatic, a whole line of students waiting outside! I felt like a true VIP!" He took a bite of his sandwich. "And the lunch, Bunny Boss, simply divine! Chef Minjun outdid himself again!"
Jungkook's sigh was almost audible through the earpiece. "I'm glad you're enjoying your meal, Taehyung. But what is the urgent report?"
"Oh, right! The urgent report!" Taehyung straightened up, his voice dropping to a theatrical whisper. "I've been observing the campus dynamics, and I have a crucial insight! You know how you always say I bring... 'chaos'?"
Jungkook's voice was dry. "I do, Taehyung."
"Well, I've noticed something! Since your team has been here, everyone is walking around so... carefully! No one is running in the halls, and the whispers are much quieter. It seems my presence, combined with your impressive security, creates an undeniable aura of... disciplined awe! It's a new form of campus control!" Taehyung declared, beaming at his own brilliance.
Jimin, across the table, finally looked up, staring at Taehyung with wide eyes.
Jungkook was silent for a beat. "You believe your 'dramatic aura' and my security presence are leading to improved campus discipline?"
"Precisely!" Taehyung chirped. "It's like I'm a living, breathing policy enforcement! Your investment in my safety is actually improving the general student body's behavior! You should get a grant for this, Bunny Boss! It's genius!"
A low chuckle, genuine and warm, rumbled through the earpiece. "You certainly have a unique perspective, dramatic darling. Keep up the... 'observations.' Just remember your actual classes too."
"Of course, Bunny Boss! Always!" Taehyung chirped, then lowered his voice. "And what about the bad guys? The 'ongoing lesson'? Are they learning their place yet?"
Jungkook's voice hardened slightly, losing its amusement. "They are receiving a very comprehensive education, Taehyung. One they will never forget. You don't need to worry about them ever again."
"Good," Taehyung whispered, a chilling satisfaction in his tone. He then brightened instantly. "Okay, Bunny Boss! I have to go now! I see Professor Lee heading this way, and I have more branding questions for him!" He quickly pulled the earpiece out. "He said they're getting a 'comprehensive education,' Jiminie! He always handles everything!"
Jimin just shook his head, watching as Taehyung, now re-energized by his conversation with Jungkook, prepared to ambush his unsuspecting professor. His life was certainly never boring with Taehyung around.
Taehyung, still buzzing from his earpiece chat with Jungkook, was enthusiastically detailing the superior texture of Chef Minjun's rice to Jimin. His back was to the main flow of cafeteria traffic, his focus entirely on his meal and his animated conversation.
"And the way the grains just separate, Jiminie," Taehyung elaborated, gesturing with his chopsticks. "It's a delicate balance! It proves Bunny Boss truly appreciates the finer things in life, even for lunch!"
Meanwhile, a few tables away, a girl named Minji had been watching Taehyung with growing fascination. She'd noticed the expensive bento boxes, the hushed whispers, and the two stoic men standing guard. Curiosity, and perhaps a touch of attraction to Taehyung's undeniable charm, spurred her on. Taking a deep breath, she decided to approach him.
She walked confidently towards their table, a friendly smile on her face. As she got within a few feet, however, Agent Kang, who had been subtly surveying the area, smoothly stepped in front of her, blocking her path without a word. His posture was polite but unyielding, a silent, formidable barrier.
Minji blinked, startled. "Oh! Excuse me," she said, looking up at the tall, unsmiling man. "I just wanted to say hi to... to him." She gestured vaguely towards Taehyung.
Agent Kang's gaze was direct, leaving no room for misunderstanding. "Mr. Kim is currently occupied. Please do not disturb him." His voice was low, firm, and entirely devoid of warmth.
Minji frowned slightly. "But... I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Minji from his Marketing class. He seems really interesting." She tried to step around Agent Kang, but he adjusted his stance, maintaining the barrier.
"Mr. Kim is not accepting introductions at this time," Agent Park, the other guard, added, his voice equally impassive. He subtly placed his hand near his earpiece, a clear signal.
Minji felt a prickle of intimidation. She glanced nervously past the guards at Taehyung, who was still animatedly discussing rice with Jimin, completely unaware of the interaction. She hadn't even registered on his radar.
"Look, I just wanted to—" Minji began again, feeling a surge of frustration.
"Your cooperation is appreciated," Agent Kang interjected smoothly, his tone leaving no doubt that cooperation was the only acceptable option. His eyes, devoid of any discernible emotion, conveyed a quiet warning.
Realizing she wasn't going to get through, and feeling increasingly uncomfortable under their unwavering scrutiny, Minji finally sighed in defeat. "Fine," she mumbled, casting one last, bewildered look at Taehyung's oblivious back before turning and walking away, leaving the two guards standing like unbreachable fortresses.
Taehyung, still completely absorbed in his high-level discussion about rice grains, didn't notice Minji's retreat. It wasn't until a few minutes later, when he finally looked up from his plate, that Jimin spoke.
"You know," Jimin began, taking a sip of his soup, "a girl tried to approach you just now."
Taehyung blinked, looking genuinely surprised. "Really? Who? Was she trying to offer me a new glitter source? Or perhaps a dramatic prop for my next campus performance?" He glanced around, but Minji was already gone.
Jimin sighed. "No, Taehyung. She looked like she just wanted to introduce herself. Minji from your Marketing class, I think. But your personal bodyguards intercepted her. She couldn't get within ten feet of you."
Taehyung's eyes widened, then a triumphant grin spread across his face. "Oh, my god! Really? They're that good? Bunny Boss truly picked the best! See, Jiminie? My security detail is top-notch! No unwanted intruders disturbing my lunch!" He then paused, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Wait. She wanted to introduce herself?"
Jimin nodded, rolling his eyes. "Yes. She looked quite put out when Agent Kang basically told her to scram."
Taehyung pondered this for a moment. He then snapped his fingers, a sudden idea sparking. "Agent Kang!" he called out, his voice carrying clearly across the cafeteria.
Agent Kang, who was standing vigilant, immediately turned his impassive gaze towards Taehyung. "Yes, Mr. Kim?"
"Is the young lady who just tried to approach me still in the cafeteria?" Taehyung asked, gesturing vaguely in the direction Minji had gone. "The one Agent Kang so efficiently 'intercepted'?"
Agent Kang scanned the room with practiced ease. "Affirmative, Mr. Kim. She's at a table near the west wall."
"Excellent!" Taehyung exclaimed, then turned his gaze directly to Minji's table. He cupped his hands around his mouth, much to Jimin's horror. "Miss Minji! Over here! Please join us!"
Minji, startled by the unexpected public invitation, looked up, her cheeks flushing. She hesitated, then, intrigued, slowly made her way to Taehyung's table, navigating around other students' chairs. She was still a little wary of the two imposing guards, who seemed to shift subtly as she approached.
"Mr. Kim," Minji said, a polite smile on her face as she reached their table. She spared a quick, uneasy glance at Jimin. "Hello. I was just trying to say hi earlier."
Taehyung beamed. "Yes, I heard! My apologies! My highly efficient security detail sometimes takes their job a little too seriously. Please, have a seat! My Bunny Boss sent enough gourmet lunch for an army!" He gestured to the empty chair beside him.
Minji, flattered by the direct invitation and the clear dismissal of the guards' earlier actions, sat down, trying to appear composed. "Thank you. This is quite a spread. I'm Minji, from your Marketing class. I thought your question about branding and security was really interesting today." She offered him a charming smile, trying to engage him.
Taehyung's eyes sparkled. "Oh, you thought so too? See, Jiminie! Someone appreciates my genius!" He turned back to Minji. "It's all about conveying an image, isn't it? Like how my Bunny Boss's unparalleled protective instincts convey absolute devotion and power!" He then leaned in conspiratorially. "You know, he even sent me Chef Minjun's special triple-layer chocolate mousse for dessert! He just knows exactly what I need. Always."
Minji's smile wavered slightly as Taehyung continued to chatter, his conversation entirely focused on his "Bunny Boss." She tried to interject, to steer the conversation back to common ground or perhaps compliment his outfit. "That's... that's really nice. Your shirt is great, by the way."
Taehyung barely registered the compliment. "Oh, this old thing? Bunny Boss picked it out. He says white makes me look 'ethereal yet dramatically formidable.' He just has impeccable taste, you know? In everything. He can run an entire global empire, manage a chaotic darling like me, and still pick out my clothes! Isn't he just the most amazing person in the entire universe?" He looked at Minji, his eyes shining with pure, unadulterated adoration. "My heart is truly taken, you see. Utterly, completely, irrevocably taken by my Bunny Boss." He patted his chest dramatically.
Minji stared, her smile now completely gone. She glanced at Jimin, who offered her a sympathetic, knowing shrug. It was clear. Taehyung's heart wasn't just taken; it was practically branded with Jungkook's name, leaving absolutely no room for anyone else.
Minji's smile completely vanished, replaced by a strained, almost pained expression. Her eyes flickered from Taehyung's starry-eyed gaze to Jimin's sympathetic face, then to the two unmoving guards. The air around their table suddenly felt thick with an awkward silence.
"Oh," Minji managed, her voice a little tight. She cleared her throat, clearly thrown off balance by Taehyung's earnest, unfiltered devotion. "Right. I see. That's... that's very clear." She fiddled with her hands under the table.
Taehyung, oblivious to her discomfort, simply nodded, his eyes still shining with adoration. "Isn't it? He's just so... everything."
Minji forced a small, brittle laugh. "Well, um, that's... that's really something. But, you know, it's always good to have friends too, right? Maybe we could just be friends? It's always nice to have more friends in class, you know?" She offered a tentative, hopeful smile.
Before Taehyung could even respond, Jimin spoke up, his voice firm but gentle, cutting straight to the chase. He glanced at Taehyung, then at Minji, a protective glint in his eye. "Honestly, Minji, I think Taehyung has enough on his plate with just me. And I'm quite enough to deal with his dramatic nature, thank you very much." He gave a pointed look at Taehyung, who looked slightly affronted, but remained silent. "He's a lot. And frankly, my best friend slot is already fully occupied. He's exclusively mine, as far as I'm concerned."
Minji's shoulders slumped. She looked from Jimin's unyielding expression to Taehyung, who, surprisingly, was nodding in agreement with Jimin.
"It's true," Taehyung declared, wrapping an arm around Jimin's shoulders and pulling him into a side hug. "Jiminie is my only best friend! He's my soulmate! We're dramatically intertwined for life! He understands all my genius and my important feelings. We don't need anyone else trying to interpret my brilliance." He beamed at Jimin, a genuine warmth flooding his eyes. "Right, Jiminie? You're stuck with me forever."
Jimin rolled his eyes, but a fond smile played on his lips. "Unfortunately, yes. Stuck forever." He squeezed Taehyung's arm. "We're a package deal, Minji. And we're already full."
Minji slowly rose from her chair, her face a mixture of resignation and mild embarrassment. "Understood," she mumbled, casting one last bewildered glance at the intertwined duo. "Well, enjoy your lunch. And your... unique friendship."
She quickly retreated, leaving Taehyung and Jimin to their elaborate meal and their intensely exclusive bond, watched over by their silent, stoic guards.
The final bell of the day shrilled, and Taehyung, already invigorated by his cafeteria antics and the reaffirmation of his sole best-friendship with Jimin, burst out of the college building. He stretched his arms above his head, letting out a theatrical sigh of relief as if he'd just survived a grueling expedition.
"Freedom, Jiminie! Glorious, academic freedom!" Taehyung declared, his voice echoing slightly in the busy entranceway.
As he stepped out into the bright afternoon sunlight, a familiar sight unfolded. Agent Kang and Agent Park, who had been patiently waiting, moved with practiced efficiency. One instantly unfurled a large, black umbrella, holding it expertly above Taehyung's head, casting a welcome shadow over his face. The other, anticipating Jimin's slightly slower pace, opened a second umbrella for him.
"Oh, my god, Jiminie!" Taehyung gasped, genuinely delighted by the unexpected touch. "Look! Personal shade! Bunny Boss thinks of everything! He truly understands the delicate nature of my complexion!" He preened slightly under the umbrella, feeling utterly pampered.
Jimin, squinting slightly in the sunlight, looked up at his umbrella. "They're protecting us from the sun now? Really?" He glanced at Agent Kang, who remained impassive.
"Mr. Kim's comfort is paramount," Agent Kang stated, his voice a low rumble. He walked a few paces ahead, guiding Taehyung and Jimin through the dispersing crowd of students, their umbrellas making them instantly stand out.
Taehyung beamed, waving vaguely at some staring students. "See, Jiminie? This is how you make an exit! With style! And shade!"
As they approached the college gates, a sleek, black car, even more luxurious than the one from the morning, was already waiting. The driver swiftly opened the passenger door. But it wasn't the usual driver.
Jungkook was sitting in the back seat, a relaxed smile on his face. In his hand, he held a tall, frosty glass, vibrant pink.
"Bunny Boss!" Taehyung shrieked, his eyes widening. He pulled away from Agent Kang, abandoning the umbrella entirely, and launched himself towards the car.
Jungkook chuckled, his smile widening. He set the glass carefully on the seat beside him, bracing himself just in time.
"Dramatic darling!" Jungkook exclaimed, catching Taehyung in a familiar, powerful embrace as Taehyung practically flung himself into the car. Taehyung burrowed into his chest, clutching him tightly, inhaling his scent.
"You came! You came to pick me up!" Taehyung cried, his voice muffled against Jungkook's shoulder. "And you have my milkshake! My strawberry milkshake! Oh, Bunny Boss, you're the best! The absolute best!"
Jungkook held him close, his arms wrapping around Taehyung's waist, pressing a kiss to his hair. He could feel Taehyung vibrating with excitement and affection. "Of course I came, dramatic darling. And of course I brought your favorite. You had a long day of... disciplinary observations." He gently pulled back slightly, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he looked at Taehyung's face. "And your complexion is perfectly protected, I see." He then offered Taehyung the milkshake. "Here. You deserve it."
Taehyung immediately took the glass, his eyes shining. "You spoil me, Bunny Boss!" he declared, already taking a contented sip.
Jimin, who had just reached the car, looked at the scene, then at Agent Kang, who was now closing the umbrellas. "He brought the milkshake too, didn't he?"
Agent Kang merely gave a slight nod. "Mr. Jeon believes in comprehensive comfort, Mr. Park."
Jimin sighed, a mix of fondness and exasperation on his face. He knew his life, and Taehyung's, was anything but normal. And he wouldn't have it any other way.
