12 - "Come and Get 'Em, Dean!"

12 – "Come and Get 'Em, Dean!"

The lights didn't return to the dungeon right away. A low siren was heard, loud to Selina's ears.

Selina struggled against her restraints. Even if I can get out, I'm still stuck in the trap. She began hopping in her chair, hoping to break it to pieces to give herself some freedom.

"Keep an eye on her," Cas ordered Sam.

"Oh, good, he'll get the hardest kill out of the way first," Selina yelled as the angel disappeared. She tilted her head back, humming. "It's only a matter of time before Dean finds us. He won't bat an eye when he kills you, Sam."

"He's not killing me, or Cas. We'll get him cured, and then—"

"You are not giving me that damn mythical cure!"

"It's not a myth, we've seen it in action."

Come on, Dean. Make quick work of the angel and come fetch me. Selina wasn't sure that demons could communicate telepathically. Not that she would be of much help for navigational purposes anyhow; she didn't know this place at all.

The two waited in tense silence. Selina was growing impatient. She wanted to be free, she wanted to escape. She wanted to celebrate her liberation with Dean in the only way the two really ever celebrated: a wild night in bed.

Selina saw Sam whip out a jagged dagger.

"That ain't gonna do much, not to Dean anyhow," Selina sneered.

"Oh, yeah it can. I just don't wanna have to use it on him."

He's bluffing. Or maybe Sam wasn't. He was a hunter after all. Surely he'd racked up demon kills in his career. He knew what killed things like Selina.

"You should've left us alone, Sammy!" came Dean's booming call.

Us. Holy shit, he just referred to us as a thing. While she felt no romantic feelings towards Dean Winchester, she did like the ring "us" had in her ears. Not a romantic couple, a power couple. That was perhaps the deadliest kind there could be.

I knew he wasn't gonna wait until they let me go...or killed me. He wants to take care of the problem now. And I'm gonna help him do it...once I'm out of this thing.

"Come and get 'em, Dean!" Selina crowed to her lover.

The doors to the dungeon were pulled back. The way was now bathed in red light from the hall. It only heightened the tension. Dean Winchester was covered in blood, splatters of it. It was hard to tell whose it was.

"We don't need to do this," Sam said to his brother.

Dean sighed. "We do."

Selina watched eagerly, tempted to cheer Dean on as he took on his brother. Though human, Sam was fast. Selina took great satisfaction in watching Dean pummel his brother. Come on, come on. We don't have to kill them, knocking Sam out can give me a way out!

The fight didn't end with Sam Winchester's death; just a brutal knock to the head to render him unconscious on the floor.

"Hey there," Selina purred to Dean. The way he towered over Sam's crumpled form, that heavy breathing...

Dean bent to grab Sam's knife and began to scratch at the trap. "Can't walk out unless the magic is broken." Once satisfied with his work, he helped Selina out of her restraints.

She gave him a hot kiss on the mouth in greeting. Though, when she pulled back, he didn't look so enthused. The lust wasn't in his eyes; the look of murderous intent still remained. Is that directed at me?

"If you can't handle killing him, allow me," Selina said, taking a stab in the dark.

"No time. I only knocked Cas out long enough to get here. He's gonna be back up for another round if we don't leave now."

"Then lead the way outta here."

The two demons navigated the halls, which were painted in red light. Selina fought the throbbing in her skull. So much red...at least it was just light and not blood, hers or anyone else's. At least here there were no agonizing screams, or desperate pleas for death.

Dean led the two towards the exit of the bunker. The hair on Selina's arms stood on end.

"How close are we?" Selina yelled to Dean.

"Just a hop up those steps."

The two demons burst into what looked to be a library. Just as they crossed into the room with the stairs, a bloody, beat-up angel appeared in front of them. Cas looked half-conscious as it was. Selina was tempted to blow him over.

"Allow me." Selina moved Dean aside.

"Selina!" Dean shouted, not in panic, but as a demand.

Selina refused to heed to him. Cas got his second wind, and the two engaged in a fight. Selina noticed the angel was unarmed. Or he's hiding his weapon until the perfect moment. Keeping on alert for a blade of some sort, she continued to get angel blood on her fists.

"Knock it off and let's go!" In the midst of Selina fighting Cas, Dean had already hauled ass up the steps.

"See you around." With a wink, Selina punched the angel square in the nose. He went out cold once again, and Selina headed for the exit as the angel's body hit the ground.

Selina's lungs sung from inhaling the fresh air. Though broad daylight, she didn't care.

"Wow," Selina exhaled. "That was—" She glanced around. There was a black car, and Selina recognized the one she and Dean had stolen.

"Yeah, yeah, drool later. Let's get on the road."

The two quickly hopped in their stolen car, and Dean tore off down the road. Selina's heart raced as fast as Dean drove. She was crestfallen that the fight hadn't ended with a Winchester and an angel dead, and that it had been so short. There's always next time. This certainly won't be the last.

"You didn't go there for me, did you?" Selina asked casually.

"I went in there thinking it was just them."

"You thought I couldn't handle them?"

"You probably could have, if they didn't have you restrained."

Selina scowled at "probably could have", but it was definitely a step up. It was practically a compliment from Dean. "How'd you know where to find me?"

"They're easy to anticipate. They retreated back to home base. If they'd been smarter, they would've found someplace else to interrogate you, throw me off the scent."

"Well, I'm glad they're predictable. So, now what? Do we send them on a goose chase? Do we turn around and hit them while they're down? Do we cover our tracks?"

"Can't really cover bloody tracks, Selina."

"Right." She rolled the window down. "So, our only option is to take the fight to them. They won't stop hunting you, Dean. In turn, that means they won't stop hunting me."

"You can always hop off the boat, I'm not holding you hostage."

"No, you're not," Selina agreed. "I just don't think hopping off is best for either of us. We got something going."

"I don't do permanent partnerships. This," he gestured to them both, "is not a forever thing."

"I know that," Selina said slowly. She leaned back in her seat.

The fact that Dean showed mercy on Cas and Sam bugged Selina. He'd talked about wanting Sam dead. He had the perfect opportunity, when the behemoth was knocked out. Yet, Dean was only focused on nabbing the knife and getting her out. She didn't complain at that part.

What was the whole point in the rescue mission if it didn't end with a dead hunter and a dead angel?

**Phew, a wee bit intense.

There are just a few chapters left, folks, so there is still some time for potential main character deaths. Who you got that bites the dust? There could be one, multiple, or none at all!

BUT, only I know.**
