Graphic Competition Rules |Season 1|
Welcome everyone to the very first Graphic Competition hosted by GraphicsNation!
We, the members of GraphicsNation, decided to host a fun and wide-wattpad talent search (as promised on our bio) to find those amazing designers and hence, "Talent Search |Season 1|" came into existence!
And this is the very first part of Talent Search - the Graphic Competition!
During this graphic competition, you'll have loads of fun, excitement, anticipation, healthy competition, experience and of course bragging rights! ;)
[NOTE: + We are ACCEPTING contestants till Round 1 deadline which is 10th July, 2017.]
That's the fun part!
So,
Now comes the serious part!
The rules!
The RULES go somewhat like this:
+ Do NOT copy another's graphic. Be creative dude!
+ Do NOT abuse, disrespect, be rude or fight with another contestant. It's okay to have your opinions but don't start a fight.
+ All entries MUST be submitted via PM with a downloadable link. If you can't send us a downloadable link, please email your graphic to us. Just ask for our email through a PM. Else, your graphic may not look HD and you may lose votes.
+ Viewer voting is open for two days. You can ask your friends to vote for you BUT do NOT tag them in the comments section. You will lose two points if you do so. Send a message to your followers if you wish.
+ The contestants CAN vote BUT not for themselves. They can vote for other entries. The contestants have 3 votes ONLY per round. They can utilize them all on the same graphic or different graphics but they can vote ONLY 3 times. Same goes for viewers.
+ DON'T be a spoilsport or whine like a baby if you get disqualified or eliminated. Just know that you did give your best!
+ NO negative criticism.
+ After submitting your graphic, you're entered for that round. NO BACKING OUT!
+ ADD this book to your library for updates. Following GraphicsNation is not compulsory but would be appreciated. :)
+ You cannot post your entry of a particular round in your graphic book before the results of that round are revealed. You can post it once the results of that particular round is announced. This is to ensure impartial voting. No watermarks that reveal your username or name should be present either and that includes, "graphics by username/name." You can stamp your watermark as long as it's only initials. You must submit all your entries via a downloadable link and you must PM that downloadable link to us [GraphicsNation]. We'd prefer it if it were an imgur, deviantart, tinypic or photobucket link but any downloadable link will do.
+ You can ask for an extension of 3 days max but you must give us a heads up of at least one week, which means as soon as we post the prompt, within a day or two, you should inform us if you need an extension. Suppose you haven't asked for an extension and do not meet the deadline, you're disqualified - as simple as that. If you aren't able to submit your graphic before you three day extension period is over, you're disqualified. If you're caught breaking any of the rules, you're disqualified. Simple.
+ You can turn your graphic into a pre-made ONLY after the results of that particular round is announced. Else what are you planning to do with it? Also, yes, it is okay if your graphic isn't new as long as it fits the prompt, your watermark isn't there and follows all the rules. If that graphic is in your graphics book, you must un-publish the chapter immediately once you enter the graphic else it violates a rule as you're not allowed to post the graphic you're entering for that round in your graphics book till the results of that particular round is announced.
+ Viewers and contestants, please note that you CANNOT vote through an inline comment. After scrolling through all the entries, at the end of the last chapter showcasing the entries, in the comments section will you cast your votes. [suppose the entries are showcased in five chapters, then in the fifth chapter ONLY in the comments section without using an inline comment will you cast your votes]
So your comment should be something like, "My vote/picks/favourite: 1, 15, 19" or whatever the serial number of the graphic. If you want to give all their votes to the same graphic then it'll be, "My vote blah blah: 5, 5 ,5"
You can, however, ONLY compliment the graphic using inline comments.
HOW GRAPHIC COMPETITION WORKS
+ There will be a total of 15-20 rounds, depending, and six contestants will be eliminated between rounds 3-7 after which, only three contestants will be eliminated each round.
+ The first round, no one will be eliminated. The first round is only for you to get used to this graphic competition and for the judges to get a head start with the points. So, remember, the first round is very important as the points may or may not give you a jump start!
+ You can ask your friends to vote BUT do NOT tag them in the comments. You can send a message to your followers or PM them.
+ The viewers (and contestants) have 3 votes ONLY per round where you can utilize them all on the same graphic or different graphics but you can vote ONLY 3 times.
+ The second round is a sudden death round where fifteen contestants will be eliminated.
+ The 1st, 2nd, 3rd place along with two honorable mentions and the graphic receiving the most viewer votes will be posted and all these 5-6 graphics will gain automatic entry to the next round. There may be a case where the either of the three winners or honorable mentions have received the most viewer votes and then, only 5 graphics will gain automatic entry to the next round.
+ The points you receive for that particular round will carry on till the end of the competition or till you're eliminated. The points will NOT be refreshed each round but will carry through. For example, suppose A gets 5/10 points in 1st Round and 8/10 points in the 2nd Round, then at the start of the 3rd Round, A has 13/20 points.
+ The contestants will NOT be eliminated purely on the graphic for that particular round. As there is the presence of a point system, the contestants will be eliminated based on the number of points at the start of the next round, that is, at the end of that round.
+ We will inform you what graphic type you need to make for that round, if not, you can choose your own. And yes, we do accept anime and animated themed graphics as long as it's fits the prompt.
+ If there is a tie, we will most likely re-open viewer voting and ask the judges to re-judge those entries. If there's a tie even after that or if the judges are not able to come to a decision, both the tied entries will advance.
+ You will need to know to make most graphics. We make ask you to make a picspam as well somewhere in some round. If you have any doubts on how to make some graphic though, you can always PM us and we'll help you out. That's not a problem at all. :)
IMPORTANT
By now, you must have realised that this isn't any ordinary competition. If you haven't, wake up dude!
Anyway, you see, there must be a question in your head like, "Dude? You tell us that we can't stamp our watermarks with our usernames or names on our entries yet you allow us to tell our friends to vote for us? How is that gonna work?"
Well, firstly, we won't be posting entries like:
#1
[Entry]
#2
[Entry]
.....
Instead, each round we will ask you your favourite something which you will need to PM us along with your entry and we will post the entry with that favourite thing of yours.
For example, Round 1, we ask you to mention your fav fruit. So you will PM us somewhat like this:
Fav: Orange and Entry: [Link]
So the entries will be posted along with a serial number and your fav thing kinda like:
[Sl. No] Orange
[Entry]
and so on.
So you tell your friends to vote for [Sl No] Orange. Simple as that. Creative ain't it? ;)
The serial number is that so there is no clash even if two choose the same fav thing and don't wanna change it or...
DO NOT TAG YOUR FRIENDS IN THE COMMENT SECTION. YOU WILL LOST TWO POINTS IF YOU DO SO.
Also, if there is a clash, which is unlikely but you can never tell, we will ask the second person [basically the person who sent their entry later than the first person] to choose a different fav thing.
BREAKDOWN OF POINT SYSTEM
3.0% - Originality/Creativity
1.5% - Text Placement/Colour Scheme/Font
1.5% - Composition
2.0% - Connection to the Prompt
2.0% - Overall Presentation
Total Points - 10
JUDGES
+ The members of GraphicsNation obviously as this competition also decides the winner who, if interested, will be a part of our group.
+ Viewers
+ Contestants
Have any questions? Comment them and we'll get back to you as soon as possible! :)
That is it.
The first round begins tomorrow.
