"What's going on?" I asked, looking between the two parents who wouldn't stop arguing. I could hear them from a hall back.

"Oh, Analia!" The petite woman pushed me out of the way and grabbed her daughter, putting her on the bed and sitting beside her. "What did you do to my daughter!" She scowled at me.

I gaped, opening my to defend, but Silver beat me to it.

"Thank her."

Natalia scoffed, flipping her hair back. "Why don't you say thank you? Is it so hard for you to be human?"

"Natalia," he warned.

"No," the woman, Natalia, stood up. "Try Silver, go ahead–"

"Stop–please," I yelled, appalled by their behavior. "You guys are being ridiculous. Your daughter is right there, just recovering from surgery, and you're berating each other like elementary schoolers over saying thank you?!"

Silver stayed silent; his jaw clenched tightly as he watched what Natalia would do.

"Mind your business," Natalia looked disapprovingly up and down at me.

It reminded me of my father and mother's look every time they realized I wasn't the daughter they wanted. It pissed me off. "Don't scream out your business, and nobody will be in it." I spat. "Shut up, or I will kick you out."

Natalia gasped, putting her hand on her chest, she glanced at Silver, but I knew he wasn't going to do anything to defend her. "I-I will be calling your manager."

I gave her an apathetic look. "Don't care." My manager is the equivalent of a deadbeat dad. He literally comes every once in a while–plus, I had the right to kick her out if she was disturbing others in the hospital.

She scoffed as I brushed past her to check Analia's vitals. "She's good," I smiled at Analia. "You can leave in a few hours," I said, beaming when her somber expression turned happy.

"Finally," Natalia said, grabbing her bags.

I rolled my eyes, finding it hard to smile when I felt eyes burn the side of my head, but I didn't want to look back at him. He made my heart run faster than normal in fear and excitement.

I sighed. "Have a great day." I gave them a fake smile. "Bye, Analia."

She smiled and waved at me before I took my leave.

"Jesus," I sat in the break room next to Latara. I gave her the list of therapists for Tom Baker, and she smiled gratefully.

"Thank you so much." She hugged me, taking the papers.

I nodded, stretching my neck. "You're welcome." I sighed tiredly.

"I can't wait to show him this." She stood up excitedly. "Oh, um, some man asked me to give this to you."

She gave me a box of donuts with a note before speeding out.

This is the only way I know how to thank you

Silver.

I smiled involuntarily. "Oh," I said quietly to myself. Nice hand-writing. I scolded myself to stop fawning over him, not to be the naive girl, but it's quite hard when he is such a gorgeous man who has given me his attention.

"That's sweet," a soft voice called out. I looked up and locked eye contact with Yana. "Sorry," she looked away. "I–I didn't mean to say that out loud.

I furrowed my brows at her terrified reaction toward me. "It's ok, Yana, geez. I'm not going to slap you or anything."

She smiled nervously. "Sorry, but I just wanted to say it was sweet of whoever bought that for you. I–I know it's none of my business, but I couldn't help myself." She beamed.

I smiled. "Yes, I know," I patted a chair next to me. "Come on, let's share. I can't eat this by myself."

Her eyes widened. "Are you sure? I mean, I'm not a doctor. This isn't my break room."

I rolled my eyes. "Anyone can use this break room. The doctors just use it more. Come on,"

Yana nodded, sitting down. "Thank you." she smiled, delicately taking a strawberry-frosted donut with sprinkles.

"Tell me about yourself, Yana. I don't really see you unless I have a surgery." I said, eating a vanilla-frosted donut.

She shrugged. "Um, well, I'm a nurse. I wanted to be a doctor, but I didn't have the money to get in. I didn't get a scholarship because I was in Egypt at the time, and so I," she blushed deeply. "It's kind of embarrassing, but I did the math in my head and converted the dollars incorrectly. So when I came to America, I only had enough money for nursing school. I didn't complain, though. I've always wanted to work in a big hospital."

I smiled. "So have I, but my parents are rich, so they reluctantly paid for my medical school."

Yana nodded. "My mom and dad–I don't know–I guess they were disowned by rich families to be together. We kind of moved from Ethiopia to Egypt from time to time. I recently convinced them to move to America."

"Oh wow," I nodded. "Any siblings?"

"Um, just two sisters. We would have been six, but my mother had miscarried every time it was a boy, and the first girl was a breech baby, and my mom's sister tried to push the baby back in, but she suffocated and died." Yana sighed. "When I heard that story, I wanted to work in the hospital. I wanted to be able to help people."

"I'm sorry," I said.

Yana smiled, shaking her head. "It's ok. That was years before I was born. What about you?"

I sighed, shrugging. "I have two as well, a brother and a sister."

Yana nodded. "That's–"

"Y'all here eating donuts without me?" Latara walked in with a smile so bright and angelic.

Yana hesitated. "Oh–um, I'm sorry,"

"I'm joking," Latara playfully shoved Yana, taking a chocolate donut. "What are we talking about?"

"Nothing much, just family," I said, watching Latara's smile slowly fade.

"Oh," she said. "That's nice. You're Yana, right?"

Yana nodded. "Y–yes."

Lata smiled lazily. "No need to be shy, Yana. I'm Latara Lewis. I don't see you around often."

Yana shrugged. "Well, doctors and nurses don't really talk."

Latara raised an eyebrow, obviously in a very good mood. "Well, girl, let's change that. Every Friday after work, we have a ladies' night, and I'm officially inviting you."

Yana and I both gaped at Latara. I had no objections. It's just that Latara made the rule that no one else other than Kyle, her, and I can join ladies' night. "Really?" Yana smiled as Latara nodded. "Thank you."

Latara winked. "No problem, baby girl, it's at Kasia's house."

I nodded, writing down my address. "See you later tonight,"

Yana nodded excitedly. "Of course."

When Yana left, I raised an eyebrow at Latara. "Why the change of heart?"

"It's not really a ladies' night without a third girl; plus, Yana is nice and won't bring drama. I just want to drink my wine and talk about men."

I furrowed my brows. "Yana doesn't seem like the type to talk about men."

Latara shrugged. "Well, let's hope she finds one if she's into them."

I rolled my eyes.

Latara and I's shifts were over, and we were on our way to the garage to leave and get ready for ladies' night tonight. I wanted to get home, decorate the place a little for Yana, and teach Kyle manners and etiquette when meeting a new person.

"Dr. Kasia!"

Latara and I both turned around to see Analia running toward me, hugging me. "Hi, Analia–please call me Kasia. I'm not working right now."

"Ok! Hi Kasia!" She giggled. "Hi, miss!" she waved shyly at Latara.

"Hey, girl," Latara smiled. "Call me Latara,"

Analia nodded. "Are you guys going home?"

I nodded. "Yea, just like you."

Analia giggled. "I saw you and ran out of my room. Dad and Uncle Aeros are going to be mad at me."

"Oh, your uncle came to visit you?"

Analia laughed, nodding. "Yes, dad was like, 'You're late, you dumb ass.,' and Uncle Aeros was like, 'Hop off my dick, Azzy, I'm here to see my niece.'"

Latara and I gave each other a look.

"What a nice vocabulary to use in front of a ten-year-old," Latara said.

"Well, Dad and my uncles curse all the time–"

"Analia." Silver and an unknown man walked toward us. "What did I tell you about leaving your room?"

"Sorry, Dad, I wanted to say bye to Kasia and Latara." Analia frowned.

The man next to Silver smiled mischievously, showcasing his perfect white teeth. "I'm Aeros," he held his hand out for Latara, which she took, and he kissed the back of her hand, eliciting a surprised gasp from her.

Unlike Silver, his hair was dark brown, and his eyes were green like Kyle's. His aura wasn't dark. It was flirty, mischievous, playful–nothing like his presumed brother. He was tall, about an inch shorter than Silver.

"Latara," she said back, keeping her composure and smiling.

Silver rolled his eyes, directing his attention to me, and I gave him a small smile. "Thanks for the donuts. I appreciate it."

Silver nodded; his face was stoic and expressionless. "I'll see you soon, Kasia,"

"Bye, Kasia!" Analia said once again before leaving with her dad.

Aeros furrowed his brows as Silver began leaving without him. "See you soon? Um, Silver?" Aeros quickly followed after his brother, asking him about his statement.

"What does he mean–oh, I know who he is." Latara nodded knowingly.

"Yep," I sighed, shaking my head.

"Girl, why aren't you on his dick right now?" She said as we made it to the elevator.

I pressed the button, sighing. "I see the way his ex looks at him. She's in love with him, and he treats her like shit. I don't want to be a part of that drama–not to mention he's way out of my league."

"I don't know about being out of your league. You're both beautiful humans. I'd say you were on par." Latara hummed, walking the elevator and pressing the garage button.

I smiled even though I didn't fully believe it–Latara was so much prettier than me. "Thank you."

She nodded. "Do you like him, though?"

I bit my lip, smiling a little. "I'd be lying if I said the man wasn't fine, and I don't throb remembering the night we had, but I can't. Just because he turns me on doesn't make me any less scared of him."

"Why nigga? This man and his ex are broken up. Of course, he is not going to like her. All that matters is that he's a good father and a good fuck."

"Alright now," I laughed. "I don't want to be his ex; plus, give this man a few days. He'll be unto some other pussy."

Latara sighed. "I guess."

"So," I smiled as we got out of the elevator. "The kiss on the hand?"

Latara laughed. "Girl, that man is so fine. Too bad I won't be seeing him again."

"I can get Kyle to call him up." Kyle is chronically online, along with being a YouTuber. In his free time, he's finding people left and right. But there was no need. Those men were Kyle's brothers.

Latara gave me a side-eye, oblivious to what I knew. "Girl, don't do that."

I laughed. "Alright, bye." I opened my car.

"Bye, baby."
