Mallory pulled up to the grill and parked her car. She had a grin on her face as she walked inside the building. She was unaware that her whole mood was about to take a drastic turn and not for the better either.

She walked into the grill, and the smile fell from her face immediately as she saw the last thing she thought she would ever see, her twin sister, the one person that she was supposed to be able to trust no matter what kissing the very guy that Mallory was in love with and was planning to confess her feelings for.... Matthew Drew Donovan.

Mallory froze momentarily, a lot of emotions washing over her at that moment but she sucked in a breath and pushed down the feelings of hurt and betrayal just for the moment and steeled herself. As she approached a slightly cold look on her face her eyes narrowed at Caroline. "Well, isn't this one hell of a surprise to come home too."

The two broke apart at the sound of her voice. Both feeling two very different emotions at the revelation of Mallory being back. Matt smiled at his best friend, happy to see her again, while Caroline looked at her wide eyed, she was a little nervous and almost scared of the reaction she was going to get from the younger blonde.

"Mallory." There was a slight panicked undertone in Caroline's voice.

Mallory gave her a tight smile but her eyes still held a cold look and her voice had a sharpness to it that Caroline had never heard from her twin before, "Caroline." And it would be a lie to say that Caroline didn't flinch at the tone, because she did.

Matt completely missed the slight exchange between the twins as he smiled at Mallory happy that she was home now, "Alison, it's good to see you." She smiled at him and it was a happier smile as Matt offered her a hug, which she accepted, she didn't blame Matt because he didn't know that she was in love with him but Caroline knew which was why she was being colder to her sister than Matt, "you didn't tell me you were coming home."

Mallory let out a silent sigh as she hugged her best friend back probably a lit tighter than necessary, "sorry Drew, but I wanted it to be a surprise..." she knew something had to be up because there was no way that he wouldn't have told her about, dating Caroline... I mean she was the first person to know when he asked Elena out so, he definitely would have told her about him and Caroline under any normal circumstance. So that's why she asked, "How come you didn't tell me about you and Caroline?" Testing out the little theory she had that something had to be up.

They pulled back from the hug, and Mallory noticed the slight confusion in his eyes, as he furrowed his brow, "I actually don't know... I wanted to tell you but I can't recall why I didn't."

The blonde nodded at him, that right there made it clear that he was compelled not to tell her... which meant that her little hunch was right and that her sister had to know about the supernatural if she had him compelled not to tell her about them dating, "it's alright Drew I'm sure it just slipped your mind or something." Mallory was definitely going to fix that though and make sure that no one else could compel him again, as well as removing any compulsion that might still be on him.

Matt just smiled at her, he didn't realize that soon enough he'd know the truth about everything, "I'm sure you're right Alison, I will let you and Care talk but we'll have to catch up soon."

Mallory just nodded at him "Of course, thanks Drew, and I will let you know and we can plan it." He nodded, walking away from the twins oblivious to the tension between the two. Whenever that catch up session happened was when she would put her little plan that was forming into motion.

Caroline gave her a nervous look "Wow Mallory, your back, you didn't mention it when we talked last night..."

The Forbes witch narrowed her eyes at her twin "yeah I wanted to surprise you and everyone else as well, but turns out I was the one surprised." Then she scoffed at Caroline, making the older of the two flinch again at the tone and they way she was looking at her, "and like your one to talk about not mentioning things, it would have been nice to have had a heads up."

Caroline gave her a guilty look before she looked down at the ground "I wasn't expecting you to come home." And it was true, she hadn't expected Mallory to come back, plus she had started to develop feelings for Matt so she didn't see the problem of Mallory wasn't there, so she went for it.

Mallory scoffed and rolled her eyes, her tone still sharp and her eyes cold "obviously... we will talk about this later at home." The tight smile was back on her face. Mallory whirled around and walked back out of the grill and back to her car, she hadn't wanted to cause a scene on her first nigh back in town.

Bonnie whistled slightly at Caroline, "told you that you should have told her."

Caroline rolled her eyes, "shut up... it's literally none of your business Bonnie."

Bonnie held her hands up in mock defense, "I'm just saying Care... and how do you think she'd react if she knew that you specifically compelled him not to ever mention it to her... I think she'd be even more pissed."

"Butt out of it Bonnie, and she's not going to know about that ever... understood?" There was a thinly veiled threat in her tone.

Bonnie picked up on it immediately though, "oh you're threatening me now? Is that it? I thought we were friends... what kind of friend threatens their 'best friend'? I see how it is Caroline." Then she walked away from the Forbes vampire.

Once Mallory was back inside her car was when she let the feelings wash back over her, she felt hurt that her sister kept this from her, knowing that Mallory was in love with him. She felt betrayed by Caroline because she went after Matt anyway knowing that her twin sister had feelings for him. Tears clouded her vision and she blinked them away as she pulled out of the parking lot of the grill and drove home.

If only she knew that it was going to get so much worse, when she found out the full truth about the whole situation.

She dropped down on her bed once she was inside the house and up in her bedroom, tears clouded her vision again, she didn't know what to feel at the moment, so much for her plan to confess how she felt to him.

Mallory didn't want to bother her mom at work, plus this was about Caroline, so she called the only person she knew she could talk to about this Alessa. The blonde vampire answered the phone after the third ring. "Mal, I wasn't expecting a call from you so soon."

Mallory sniffed, as tears fell down her face, "I didn't want to bother my mom at work and because this is about my sister I didn't know who else I could vent to so I called you because I know I can count on you Alessa."

Instantly hearing the tone of Mallory's voice, she knew that something was wrong, "Oh sweetheart what happened?"

Mallory sniffled again, as she explained, what had happened, "Well you know how I told you about Drew and how I was going to finally tell him the truth about how I feel about him?"

"Yeah of course." The older blonde said.

"Well as you know, I didn't tell anyone that I was coming home. I wanted to surprise everyone, my first stop was to see my mom and then I went to find Caroline. The first stop was the grill; it's the only decent hangout in Mystic Falls. I walk in and the first thing I notice is Caroline kissing him, like full on make out lip lock... I don't really blame him because he has no idea how I feel about him but Caroline knew how I felt, that I've been in love worth him for years, and she still goes after him..." she trailed off blowing out a breath. "That's not even the worst part either, she had him compelled not to tell me about them dating..., I knew that something had to be up because he would have told me the moment it happened under normal circumstances, so I asked him why he didn't tell me about it and he got all confused and everything."

"Oh darling I'm so sorry that she did that to you."

Mallory started getting more angry than upset now and scoffed "yeah that's like the biggest no go in the girl code right up next to dating your friend's exes... which Caroline is also doing by dating him since he's Elena's ex-boyfriend and Elena is her best friend."

"Wow, so your sister broke both of the top rules of the girl code, with the same guy? Wouldn't you be breaking that one too for going out with him?"

"God no, I can't stand Elena, we're not friends so the whole girl code thing doesn't apply with me and her, she's far too snobby and judgey for my tastes."

Alessa snorted and smirked "well it's a good thing that Elena won't be much of a problem for you once Nik finds out about her then... I mean it won't be from me because we're not exactly on speaking terms since he daggered Kol last but word will get out eventually."

Mallory cracked a smile at that, the Gilbert girl just always rubbed her the wrong way, ever since they were kids, "well at least I have that to look forward to then." they both laughed at that. "Hell I could leak it myself if I really wanted to... thanks to you I have a few connections in the supernatural world."

Alessa snorted at that,"well let's hope that she doesn't piss you off then, because I know you'd do it just out of spite." The Forbes witch spent the next hour and a half on the phone with Alessa, the older vampire succeeding in making her feel better and distracting her from what had happened earlier, which Mallory was thankful for.

Caroline had walked into the house she knew that, Mallory had a quick temper and that she reeled herself in at the grill so as to not make a scene but this was inside their home, a territory where no one was around to witness the scene. So she was preparing herself for the worst.

Caroline was a little nervous about facing Mallory, she really hadn't expected her sister to come home, so she didn't see the need to tell her about it.

The blonde vampire heard her sister on the phone with someone as she made her way upstairs, to get this over with. Caroline thought that once the confrontation was over that Mallory would forgive her like she always did.

Note:
I have so many plans for this book XD I can't wait for you guy to see them... for once this is nit gonna be Caroline friendly, I love her i do but she's gonna be so bad in this book... okay so only people that are voting to be safe from the bashing are, Kol, Alessa, Liz, Matt, Tyler and Bonnie, everyone else is fair game. Even Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah although that probably will just be short term for those three... maybe, maybe not though I'm undecided 🤣.

I hope you guys enjoy this chapter though.
