Chapter 13 : Hallucination?

"This." He said, unfolding his hands.

A thin metal chain glistened in his soft yet strong palm with a sparkly shine of purple and pink. The pink sapphires and the amethyst in the centre adorned the shiny white coated bracelet like pixie dust, flowing from a kind fairy's wings.

"I bought this for you. I know it's cheap but I thought it'd look beautiful on your slender wrist." He picked up my left hand and tied the wristlet around my wist.

His hand held my hand with the utmost care. His touch was cold, yet my heart was a melted cocoa mess.

The alluring amethyst in the centre was yet again purple in colour, a colour associated to me since my childhood.

"You like it?" He asked as he placed my hand down. I took some moment to appreciate the enchantment, I was getting bewitched by, in my head.

"I do." I said. Sunoo flashed his smile, which was as intimidating as the azure sky of the autumn. He had my eyes transfixed on him, as if I was betwitched by the presence of some hypothetical mirage in the scorching heat.

"Ahh! I have to return back. I don't drive. Lemme call Hessung."

I took out my phone to ring my brother, whom I expect to be ready to pick me up already, because he most likely completely forgot that I don't drive.

"Yup?"

"You're coming to pick me up?"

"I have other options?"

"Absolutely not." I grined at the reply and he gave off a 'I knew it' sigh.

Heesung wouldn't take any time longer than 5 minutes to reach me and I'm sure of it. Unlike many brothers, who are grown up and have a busy life, my brother never delays to reach me, even if that needs to get him killed.

I saw Sunoo walk to the nighstand and put his phone on charging. He stood there, scrolling through his phone, probably discovering things or maybe thinking of his sister, just as much I used to when Heesung was in the US.

I didn't intend to smile as I sat next to him but I did. Sunoo, like a little kid, had downloaded a music app to listen to nursery rhymes.

"Sign in." I said.

"Hmm?"

"You have to sign in your email acount to be able to access your phone."

"Oh! In 32nd centtury they sign in the graduation number."

"Graduation number? You mean I can't use a phone if I'm not a graduate?" I was out of words.

"No. Their they install the com-chip in your body and you can communicate to everyone who has a chip without the requirement of any device."

"At what age do they do that?" I was shocked at the new information which I found skeptical.

"They do it when your body stops growing. Depends from person to person. For the autobots, it's since the creation. You can say when you hit your puberty and attain the height you have in your genes."

"What if a person grows after it's inserted?"

"They generally don't because the chip prevents from any further growth. But incase they do, They either have to change it, which costs as much as a kidney in this century, or they die."

"And you have such a devil thing in you?"

"No. I was too poor to pay for that. My sister didn't get it because she died before that and my foster sister was afraid to do that. So no one, I loved, did."

"And then you had a phone where they ask for graduation number?"

"I came here before that."

I looked at his eye which didn't fabricate any of the information depicted by his straigh forward face and eyes that looked towards the left at times to remember his past. Or future, maybe.

"Anyways, here you don't need any gradutaion number but you surely do need a email ID and I'm surely not giving you mine. So I'll help you to make your own email ID." I nudged the thoughts.

"Why won't you give me yours?" He asked with innocent looking eyes.

"Your email ID manages everything about your android. So whatever you do on yours will be visible to me and mine to you if we share a common email ID. This can disrupt our privacy so you should have your own. Not that I'm having any problem with you seeing my searches but because you deserve your own search history."

"Okay." With that said, I showed him how to make an email ID when the doorbell rang and I knew that it was none other than my brother.

Sunoo recieved the door and asked Heesung in. He had cooked us our dinner and brought it all the way to Sunoo's place. We were late for our dinner. It was already half past 9.

"Wow the house is pretty." Said Heesung.

"It wasn't. Addie noona and her helped me out with the organisation or it looked worse than a cannibal's den." Sunoo scoffed at the disgust, we cleaned.

"I see." Replied Heesung.

Dinner was quick. Sunoo bowed to us and Heesung bowed back to him before leaving the house. Unlike last time, Sunoo didn't let that soft smile down his face.

"Bye Sunoo!"

I closed the door as I sat on the bed and looked outside the little window I had, right across me. The house was like two full sized classrooms for 40 students combined. The bedroom walls were a light shade of peach which had faded over the years. The bed in the room was a hard one with no mattress. The stand fan rotated its blades and moved side to side, enough for the room.

There was a small aircon which needs repairing and servicing. I knew how to repair aircons because of the 12th grade engineering classes.

The floors had a disgusting carpet with a tacky yellow colour. The bathroom walls were of white tiles that would require frequent pressure cleaning and the kitchen begged for restocking but I'm poor to afford all of that so I will have to start a job.

"What could be a good job?" I questioned myself.

A place where educational qualification is important along with the certificated proof, I wouldn't get any jobs and without the highschool graduation honour, I can't even do a second time college study on a subject I hadn't studied.

How do people with no educational opurtunities strive in this century? Do they even exist after a certain time?

I pulled my body up and looked at the phone, wondering if I can get any information there.

As soon as I opened it, My phone buzzed with a notification. Y/n had sent me a 'Hi'. Seeing her makes me happy even without her trying. And when she does something for me, I always tend to remember her.

She is so much like her, my childhood friend but unfortunately I don't even remember the face. I just saw her for 1 moth and she became my friend and only friend. All that I remeber about her was that, that she was a fluffy goofball.

Noona hasn't shown any signs of being goofy yet, but she's soft. She hides something about her which I haven't made out.

I replied her with a 'hi' as well and closed the instant messenger to google jobs available for me.

It didn't give me any results that I could take up at the current condition, I was experiencing.

I was stressing about my condition. I agree that I never had any afluent life but not this bad where I was so helpless. Even when a kid, my sister didn't make ourselves dependent on anybody but ourselves.

I can not expect Y/n to pay my bills when she struggles to feed herself even with 3 jobs and I can't keep the rent due and get indebted to something big.

People would say I should be happy that I don't have to work and a woman, who just met me, for some days, has agreed to do it instead.

But that's not how things should be.

My body ached as I thought more about the future I was holding. I wouldn't want to return to the century I am from if I can settle myself.

Growing up is a hell lot difficult than I assumed it to be.

I dropped my body on the flat mattress and stared at the blank ceiling. Closing my eyes, I tried to concentrate on everything.

I was being restless, swimming in the pool of my insecurities. I don't like falling 'cause I hate heights.

I placed my hand on my forehead and scrunched my eyes and deeply breathed in. Her perfume hit my nostrils, which it recognized as her scents.

That aromatic smell lingered in the air, calming me. As if, that was a living figure, engulfing me in her soft embrace.

My brain accepted the little touches my skin felt. Not 2 but 4 hands were around me.

I opened my eyes in a jolt, to find the other two hands I felt; but much to my surprise, their existed no one.

I know, 2 of them were my imagination but...

Whom did the other 2 belong?

"Anyone?" I called out to the uncertainty of the night.

The lights were still on but my room wasn't well lit by the low quality fluorescent bulbs. I couldn't be wrong, it was something.

Or was I imagining two Y/ns?

"Hello?" I stretched my words and looked around from my bed but no one was in sight.

I shrugged my shoulders and stared out the window. The city from my top looked very old, with small houses and some high buildings.

A gash of air blew from behind me, which was a wall. There were no more passages for any breeze to enter, neither was my fan switched on.

Where did this air blow from?

My forehead was covered by tiny beads of sweat, which beamed like small pearls. I was scared. I have been sleeping alone for 5 years now, yet my heart was racing with the weirdness I felt around.

"What's this...? Air? I'm scared, noona." I pulled my legs close to my body and called out for my noona.

"Scared? Why?" The melodious voice of my sister, Kim Suwon, rang around me.

"Noona?"

"Mhm. Who scared you?" I felt the closeness of my gaurdian around me. Her warmth came as a cold touch but warm enough to make me feel secure.

"I don't know. I'm afraid. Stay with me please." I begged her to be near me.

"Why don't you call your new noona? She took your responsibility right?"

"But..." Before I could finish my speech, her touch vanished. I couldn't talk to her.

I miss her.

Should I do as she told? Call Y/n?

Yeah, I'm doing that.

I unlocked my phone and called Y/n, whom I saved as Noona. I am disturbing her in the middle of the night.

Not a very honorable mention.

But I hope she picks up. I don't know if I'm just hallucinating or thinking weird, but I need somebody right now.

Please pick up...
Noona.

Hey guys...

I'm back after a week of no updates. So I was trying to complete Grammy yesterday, which was my anniversary but I couldn't so...
Guess, I'll keep it slow now.

And give both of these books equal priority.

I guess...
Bye?
