Chapter 19 : Sorcerer

"You sure about it?"

"Of course I am." Since the time I knew about my cousin, Niki, discovering the time machine today; I couldn't rest my feet.

That child was 6 years younger than me yet 60 times smarter. As kids, we were very close. His family was a strong one, both his parents being austere but loving. But unfortunately his dad died of stomach cancer when he was merely 10.

Our mums were sister so when aunt was struggling with her debt, she didn't want her son to suffer with her. He used to live with me even until 4 months, when aunt finally completed her whole financial crisis.

And that kid was going to be a discoverer!

"But noona, can we just go to someone's school? Won't that cause troubles?" Sunoo wasn't confident on my confidence.

"We can. I am still his guardian lmao!"

"Lmao? Is it some text language? I'm unaware of it."

"It is. It means laughing my ass off."

"What's so funny about being a guardian?"

"Nothing. I just use it with everything."

"Why do you all behave like some odd creatures?" He joked.

"Odd creature, huh? It's you. We are what we should be. You're not what 22nd Century people are like." I rolled my eyes.

"Cause I'm not of the 22nd century."

I punched his arm. "Catch me, if you can!"

"Huh? Whoo!" I pulled Sunoo and started running away from him. He took some time to understand what I did, but started chasing me soon.

The wind ran with me, as if I was riding a chariot of unexplainable celestial emotions, an amiable joy of athanátos copines.

Is it my fault if I'm not good at expressing?
A warm girl in a cold city
With nothing but an expecting heart.
Can't you just know myself more than me?

I want you to leave yet stay,
All day;
Only see you smile in my head,
When things don't go well.

I just want to be honest,
And run to a destination of no place.
No, don't go away
Show me your heart, or don't show it to me.

Maybe it's like hanging half,
My heart is reluctant to part;
And even though it feels like
You'll reject me
I'm gonna try it once more,
With no destiny.

Starting from today,
I'm gonna call you every day;
Even when it's two,
Even when it's tough;
I don't wanna see no red light
And go overdrive
For I'm in love
With you.

"Caught you!" He clenched on my wrist and pulled me towards him. I bumped on his hard torso and felt the hard shapes on his chest. He was a soft boy with a buff body.

"Mhmph! Leave me!" I tried to pull away from him.

"Nah! I was supposed to catch you. And now that I have cought onto you, I'm not letting go off that wrist any time soon." He proclaimed, with that intense gaze, captivating me yet again.

"Then..."

"We have reached his school. Let's go, shall we?" He asked, slightly relaxing his grip.

"Hmm." I hummed in response and walked to the gate with him. We stood there, waiting in the que. I had informed Niki about our visit before deciding our tour.

"Student?" Asked a woman, not a day older than 30, cross checking names on her log book.

"Guardian." Replied Sunoo.

"Who exactly?"

"I'm his sister. And this is my friend." I said, cutting Sunoo.

"Student name?"

"Riki Nishimura." I said.

"Okay. Please sign here." I took the pen and signed on the register, next to Niki's name.

We passed through the gates and never had I ever known that Sunoo's National School of Science and Technology was this huge. The big, brown building was ornated with science fair banners and the path to the exhibition hall, had a red carpet.

We trailed the crowd to enter the hall and Sunoo pointed at two empty seats in the platinum row. The exhibition had some time before it was to start and I spotted an eager parent, waiting for her daughter's work.

I remember to have participated in a literature competition, the only one I did, and Heeseung couldn't keep his excitement to himself. It's always fun to see family being appreciative of you. And thankfully, I had one.

"I'm so excited!" I said.

"I'm excited as well. I know all that he did but seeing him present it infront of my eyes would be an honour for a quantum physics and mechanical engineering student." I nodded at his urge, as high as mine.

"Selfie?" Sunoo took out his phone and focused his camera. I smiled to it and he clicked photos with random faces.

He giggled looking at the numerous shots he took and that somehow enlightened my non-prosperous day.

"Noona!" I heard Niki's voice and noticed him on the gold row, coming towards me.

"Niki!" I opened my arms, wide enough to engulf him.

"How are you?" I asked him, ruffling his hair. He was still a baby.

"I'm good. How'd you know I had an exhibition today? I'm so... What was that word again... Yeah! Exhilarated! I'm so exhilarated to show you my creation." He rejoiced.

"Aww really? All the best."

"But how did you know about the exhibition?" He repeated his question.

"I told her." Said Sunoo, greeting Niki with his familiar glee.

"You did? How would you know? Do I even know you?" Asked the 15 year old.

"You don't know me, but I do. I'm a sorcerer, and do dark magic to know about the future." Hearing him made Niki chortle.

"Good one. Anyways, I'm Riki Nishimura. You can call me Niki for short." Niki extended his left hand for a handshake, forgetting that it's still considered a rude gesture.

"Hi Niki, I'm Sunoo Kim. You can call me whatever you cherish." Sunoo shook his left hand, not making Niki feel awkward, even a bit.

"Hihi! Are you her boyfriend?" Niki enquired Sunoo.

"I don't know. But she's my best friend." Replied the older.

"Okay! It's time, I'll be going." Niki ran to the backstage as soon as the curtains started to pull away.

His question left me flustered. My cheeks were burning red and I couldn't focus on the Anchor's introduction. I am unsure of my feelings myself. I haven't fallen for anybody and although Sunoo could be an exception, we aren't necessarily meant for eachother.

He's from a different time, different dimension and if I can help him find out the perfect calculation to that dimension shrinkage theorem, maybe he'll return home.

I want him to be happy, that's all. And right now, seeing the young geniuses present their projects, shone bubbles of happiness.

A girl presented her robot, a pup who could shoot lazer eyes. That already exists and not a discovery, but for a child, she did it quite good.

Then came a boy, with a giant panda that was dancing. It was also a robot and the woman next to me was so happy to see him. Maybe, she was his mother.

Followed him a girl, the daughter of that first woman, I spotted. She came with a small ring, on which she clicked some switches. It opened up as a lazer slayer.

"They are amazing." I said.

"They are, but that boy before Niki seems suspicious." Said Sunoo, more concentrated on Niki than any of the projects.

"Why?" I asked.

"See him. He is messing with the wires, I think. And look at your cousin, he completely in his world." Said Sunoo.

"Was it successful? Should we do something?" I asked.

"It was. Niki is credited of doing it. But if that idiot messes things, then the future I know will change, along with my memories." He said.

"We should prevent that. Niki was credited right? It doesn't matter if we help him out." I was ready to beat some shit out of that delinquent kid.

"We have to. If he messes that up, before the future being affected, it will be a blast here."

"How?"

"Niki used radium for generating sufficient electricity for his machine.  The power of the nano-diamond battery comes from radioactive isotopes used in nuclear reactors. Radium will result in a gamma radiation, which can travel a long way through the air. Just being near high levels of radium is dangerous. Radium is a known cancer-causing substance. And we all can die in a matter of minutes.

I know the whole system, I have recreated it for my exams!"

"Oh my God! We need to stop it." We were already on our feet. Niki was busy looking at the documents with his teacher, and that was our scope to not let anything ruin in the time ahead of us.

The boy was unplugging the wires on the cold receptor, filled with nitrogen oxide and Sunoo had already panicked about how explosive it was going to be.

I couldn't give that a chance. Not only do I want Niki to win this, but also protect everyone here. These stupid kids who do massacres out of jealousy, always get on my nerves.

I spotted a white over coat and quickly put it on. Picking up some random flyers and stuff, I disguised myself a school professor and marched towards the boy.

I jerked him off the wires and pulled him by his collar, and hissed Sunoo to fix the wires and prevent the casualty. The boy looked at me with fear filled eyes. I'm an inhuman, hence that doesn't work on me.

"Are you stupid or what? You're participating in a science exhibition and don't know that's a cold receptor? Filled with nitrogen oxide? You want to die and kill everyone?" I almost slapped the boy but stopped mid air for Sunoo asked me to not. I grited my teeth and let go off his collar. He was trying to escape when Sunoo stood infront of him, rolling his tongue in his mouth.

He glared at the boy, fatal enough for the stupid to pee his pants. And I'm liking this look of his.

The exhibition ended on the stage, and I missed the presentation. Niki hopped back behind the curtains with his mentor, both happy with how well they did, untill they noticed me: an intruder.

"Excuse me ma'am, whose incharge are you?" Asked the tall guy.

"Professor, she's my sister. I think there's some misunderstanding." Said Niki.

"Oh! Then it's alright. But ma'am, didn't you miss the presentation from here? And what's happening there?" He noticed Sunoo, still being murderous to that young kid.

"Jongho? Sunoo Hyung, why have you kept him captive?" Asked Niki, crossing me.

"You know him?" Asked Sunoo, sparing no mercy.

"Yeah. He's my bestfriend." Said Niki.

I took a deep breath as for the first time in a while, Sunoo looked at me for my permission. It would be more painful to know what a snitch one's bestfriend was, when grown old, than know it then and there.

"You'll disappointed to know but he tried messing with your wires on the cold receptor." Said Sunoo in one breath.

"What? Jongho? But..." He bit his lips. Knowing the sabotage, hit him hard.

"Riki, it's okay. Atleast your sister and Hyung managed it. I'm sure you'll win, okay? It's so great of your true well wishers to have keen eyes." Said the handsome professor.

"I guess so, Professor Park. My cold receptor is enough for me to freeze him to death. But... I want him to be suspended or even sacked." Niki forced himself from punching the guy.

"I'll make sure of that." Said Professor Park, turning to gather the papers.

"And for the time, you can punch him." Smirked the professor, gaining a grin from Niki, who happened to punch the guy for real.

The exhibition ended and the results were to come tomorrow, making all of us excited. Sunoo was happy for Niki, even though he couldn't see the presentation.

"Is Hyung upset to have not seen the presentation?" Niki laughed, walking home with us.

"Kind of, yeah." I replied.

"Come to my house, both of you. I'll do the presentation again. And this time, with the bigger one. That was just a demo, the bigger structure is still on progress." Said Niki.

"You mean, that wasn't the final time machine?" Sunoo gauged at him.

"Yes. How do you know it's a time machine when I didn't even tell my mentor, Park Sunghoon?"

"Sorcerer, I told!"

Hey Rosairises...
So...

I guess you can estimate Sunoo's capabilities from this chapter and so be ready for them to start working on their project, the main thing of the book.

And...

I told Sunoo will hate Y/n
But
I never told Sunoo won't love Y/n

( ͡°ᴥ ͡° ʋ)
