Chapter 26 : Hard Days
"Okay class, let's discontinue our last session before the exams. Remember to study all the chapters, line by line. Try to write advertising processes of already out products using your own imaginations, since most your questions will be source based. Also, don't forget to practice mathematics. It's a new policy and many of you haven't studied it since highschool.
Lastly, don't overstress yourselves. Do your best. All the best for your exams!" Saying her last words of encouragement, the bell rang with the class being dismissed.
2 weeks till the finals and I feel secured of myself for studying mathematics with Sunoo. Speaking of education, each day with him showcased more of his knowledge and that, he truly has a beautiful mind.
The class was busy stuffing their belongings and rushing out of the school and I was still sitting in the corner, staring at the void of my thoughts.
"Lee Y/n?" I hummed to Mrs. Moon's call.
"You'll have to come with me for the meeting about the advertisement for LCMB Pvt Ltd."
"When? Now?"
"Yes. Is it okay?"
"Yeah. We can."
"Good then. Come on. They'll explain their whole idea to you." I didn't have any work in the next three hours and I would be called a shame if I let go off the opportunities I'm being given.
Mrs. Moon walked ahead of me, leading my feet to the conference room. I noticed how they had decorated the area with ornamental plants for the event and even the board of faculties had dressed formally, unlike me.
"Ma'am, you think my attire is okay for the impromptu meeting with our major share holders?" She paused on her track and looked up from her red i-displayer to scan me. Her eyes pried on my red cross checked shirt and blue ripped jeans.
"I don't see anything unacceptable. Still... Can I take a picture of you? Lemme show it to the HOD." I nodded to her and she clicked a photo of me on her i-displayer.
I waited outside the office, on the sitting area and opened my phone to text Addelyn. They were already granted a study leave, because it required much more preparation than my subject. And I know that the girl would be on a lunch break right now.

"This girl!" I shut my phone in an instance, huffing at her lame teases. I do not dress for Sunoo, I promise.
"Lee Y/n, the HOD has given you the go but also said that you have to show some of your skin." She conveyed the message to me in a whisper, embarrassed to demand something so immodest.
She showed me the way and let me go alone, whether or not I do, depended on me. If work depends upon flexing skin, I don't know if it's still called work.
I needed the work, for myself and also Sunoo.
Sighing to myself, I stood outside the conference hall, preparing to enter. I unbuttoned the first 4 buttons of my shirt, exposing my cleavage.
"This makes me so little of myself." I murmured to myself. I almost pushed the door but my phone interrupted the process.
Hearing the ringtone, I knew who it was. Addie has to be the one who told him.
"Annyeong?"
"Annyeong, Bro." I chirped to him.
"Could have given your brother this good news as well. I'm annoyed." Heeseung complained like a kid who wasn't given his chocolate. I laughed at him, brushing the thought of my chest away.
"Mianhada. I thought I will but ma'am rushed me in."
"Arasseo, it's okay. Atleast you told Addelyn, or all of us would have been surprised." He joked.
"I think that's what I should have done."
"And, can I know something?"
"Sure."
"Who will be there?"
"I actually don't know. Maybe the director or some employees."
"Okay. All the best. I know it's quite disrespectful to say this but, try not to use the same path as most women, who achieve their occupation. Be stubborn to your commitment and maybe, be you. That earns you more potentiality. Just an advice from personal experience."
"I'll remember. Thanks. Now I shall go in."
Power, is a very commonly used word but many not know the true value of what it means.
Power can be of a million types. Some that require force and can't be executed without any will.
And then again, there's power which needs no action, needs no force. Just a stationary written note and some words.
The power that even a single word holds, is immeasurable. It can pierce hearts and shatter confidence. It can belittle people and bound them to things, they are afraid of.
But again, a word is enough to make people realise their value, their worth. Just a word to make someone appreciated in their skin.
And Heeseung never failed to do that. His last words before he cut the call, rang in my head and repeated itself.
A split second paused infront of me, giving me little but enough time to decide my actions. I questioned myself if what I am doing is right, or how I am doing is right. Was I even being myself?
"Be stubborn to your commitment and maybe, be you."
"Be you... Am I being me? I am not, right?" I closed my eyes and inhaled a heavy breath.
Settling my decision, I gazed at the door and pulled my buttons back to where they were. I came to the conclusion that I wasn't being me, rather just a puppet of a lustful society. I won't be their doll and run the way they want me to.
I pushed the door and smiled before entering and walking right next to the HR or our university.
"Aah! Lee Y/n, come in, come in. Have a seat." I walked, bowing to the two elderly men and sat next to Mr. Jo, the HR.
"Good Afternoon, Sirs." I noticed the HR's happy glea in his eyes and also the client's, whose globes acted like an x-ray scanner, detecting everything in me.
"Good Afternoon, young lady. Mr. Jo showed us your presentation and we're glad that they have chosen the perfect person, we were expecting.
Since we know your capabilities now, we already expect much from you.
We'll just proceed into explaining you the details, we want you to include and then, you may start working after as soon as you graduate." The man cut all his extra time and went straight to the point, which I'm glad of.
"We want the layout design to be futuristic. Make it in a way that the youth will be attracted the most. All the product details will be emailed to you once you present us the layout." I took out my pen to note the things he stated.
"I have some sample ideas for futuristic advertisements, which can achieve us phenomenal success." I tapped on my phone, connecting it to the projector and displayed the samples I had designed when I was sulking in boredom.
He skipped through all the 13 slides, noticing just the layout planning. I was shrieking inside, wanting him to choose atleast one.
The HR's mind tried linking to me as I noticed him tapping on the sofa, near my leg. I diverted my vision and tried figuring whatever he was trying to transmit through his telepathic transmitters.
I gave up after repeatedly failing to receive his mind and went back on my job.
"Yeah, this one is good. Explain the process to me." I jerked back to the reality and nodded, preparing my tongue to not stutter.
"Before I explain, please clarify me about the product or service you want me to advertise." The HR shook his fist in excitement, as if my verdict was what he was waiting for.
"Well it's a transportation system, which enables a body to travel through time and space."
Hearing him, Sunoo was the first thing that erupted in my mind.
"Alright. So since the layout includes a video shoot, we would suggest you to show a child. That kid grows up alone and wishes to see his family and nothing can get him that. Your services will be the last hope, and he meets his family. Then the said actor describes all the certification your service provides."
"Quite mainstream. Although, maybe some higher investments in illustration can work the thing out."
"Trust the process, Sir. I can commit our success." I proclaimed with all my guts, pouring in one sentence.
"Okay. My trust rest on you." He pushed a contract paper to me. The HR insisted me to take the chance and sign the sheet but my memory reminded me of Sunoo, who had restricted me from signing papers immediately.
I hummed in a response and tossed through the papers, quickly reading all the important details which I required to know. I opened my pen and calmed my thumping heart and my brain's ringing alarms.
"Sir, I'm glad to be a part of it but I'm only a student and a beginner. Hence, having you through out the process would be my utmost pleasure and it's a request, that I only be an asset. Please have the honour of being the dealer." I passed the paper to Mr. Jo and smiled at him. He nodded with a satisfied look and glided his fingers on the signature box, signing the deal.
"Well done then. I shall leave now. All the details will be emailed to you by my team. Best wishes for the project." The man shook his hands with Mr. Jo and advanced it to me. I took his hands and shook it.
Closing the door behind after the man left, the HR launched his inner dance queen and roared on the floor like some cataclysmic electricity stroke generated inside him.
"I'm impressed by your confidence, my child!" He raised his palm for a high-five and my scared visage changed to a much lighter and genuine smile, that I wasn't forcing.
"Thank you."
"So... I think we bought a lot of your time in this, yet you, our hope, nailed the thing. Very well done, girl, very very well done."
"This wasn't as hard as I was expecting it to." I answered.
"It was. Your performance made it appear crazily easy. And I'm so honoured that you passed me the deal instead."
"I don't know any other synonyms of Thank you. Should I keep repeating that to all your appreciative comments?"
"Haha, your humour is likeable. And I'm also glad that you acted like a woman and not a girl who has just learnt to talk. Keep your attitude strong. You have stars to ride."
The only thing I don't like about people is the excessive amount of words they utter in a minute. I couldn't misbehave with Mr. Jo and he wouldn't stop talking.
How do I escape?
"Oh My God! Sir, I have a coaching lesson and I'm already late by 10 minutes. Please pardon my issue, I have to excuse myself and take a leave." I spoke with a begging voice.
"Yes, Yes! Sure. Have a nice day."
"So do you, sir." I pretended to walk out of the room and then ran for my life, if that even required me to fall down.
"Hard Days of Life!"
