Chapter 28 : Tomorrow, Tonight

"I'm feeling foolish just because
You've been fooling with someone
Who isn't who they used to be
Someone who isn't me
Whose bad idea was this anyway?
Said that we needed space, we just got closer
Late at night missing the little things
Something as simple as 'Baby, come over.'
But I can't forget the way you taste

So I pour another shot and I pretend that it's your lips
Chase you down, another round until I taste your whiskey kiss
When you're up at 2AM you know that I'll be up in 5

Let me be your tomorrow tonight
Let me be your tomorrow tonight."

Her hands moved to the little rhythm of pleasure and ecstasy, dancing her heart through the empty corridors of the given up apartment in the middle of the forlorn cold winds, which were dancing along with her.

The cosmic rays of her dreams rode the breeze, she once feared, and the stars lit like bulbs of dim CFLs, brightening the dull and nebulous night.

Her body took to sway to the beat of her heart which could stand still no more. The heaven, which always rejected her, seemed to be in for her favour.

Nobody was there. No one to comment about her scars, to judge her agony, to mock her as a felony of the world. No one was watching her except the gail that accompanied her ballet. It was the prince and she was the swan, dancing for nothing but themselves.

How unconvincing is the World, isn't it? It loans things from you like you're the wholesaler and then pays you zero interest. It condemns all your intentions like the people hating unpopular options. But again, it rewards with little things, like a person to greet you in the morning or hold you when you're falling.

Couldn't it just do one? Either give or take? The world's relationship with us is only proclaimed as "given-taken". Never too less, never too much.

Her voice followed her emotions and spoke her feelings, which people refrained from understanding. Her clumsy melody clarified her untrained skills but was strong enough to persuade someone to fall.

Her feet moved through the corridor, her hair flying. Her body was still in motion as she opened the door. Throwing her shoes and bags off, she poured herself a glass of wine.

The essence of the fruity flavours with ample tannin, passed down her throat, firing shots of electricity she isn't used to.

Her breath was intoxicated, intoxicated in wine, in the feeling and his touches. The warmth around her neck was still incessant.

"Yaw!" Heeseung dragged his body up the stairs to the apartment, his eyes almost closed with the heavy work.

"Y/n-ah, I'm home." He unlocked the door and was left with a gasp on his lips, not believing his eyes about the scene he saw. He blinked thrice, still trying to digest every minor detail he wished he hadn't noticed.

His sister, Y/n, was inebriated in her drunk dance with that wine glass almost falling out of her hands.

"Gosh!" He jumped to catch the glass tumbler and pressed his lips tight, preventing his anger from blasting off. He knew how unexpected it's for her to drink anymore, and that even half a glass of dilute soju was enough to crash her nervous anatomy.

"If only you understand how much I need you to warm my lonely nights." Her sloppy moves and ceasing words made Heeseung roll his eyes, for it's must not for him rather somebody who got his mad sister insane.

"What am I supposed to do with you, huh?" He picked her up and proceeded towards her bedroom. His bones aching, his eyes burning with sleep deprivation yet there he sat rubbing her passed out body with a luke warm towel.

"I need to get myself married to my work and focus more on productivity. This kid will remain a kid."

...

"Mmgh..." She squeezed her eyes hard and massaged her throbbing temples. The Hangover had an efficient effect on her. Beating her struggle to not stumble, she hugged her pillows, just how she thinks some kind person would hold her.

The sun wasn't very bright and partly covered with clouds, that formed paths for heavenly angels of the dawn.

"I need you..." She whispered in her half conscious sleep. She needed to wake up and clear her chores but her heart wanted to sleep a little more, and more.

"Aah! I have to get up." Forcing her wants, she got up, but long did she realise that she was drunk and hadn't walked herself to her bed. And that, she was half naked.

"I am naked? Damn!" She screeched at the top of her lungs.

"Shut up! Let me sleep!" Heeseung's voice rang from the living room.

"Bro? Did you get me here?" She peeped from behind her door, looking at a frustrated Heeseung.

"Who else would? Your wine glass?" He scoffed at her and tossed on the sofa, covering himself with his blanket.

"Thank God!" She closed the door and sat back on her soft bed, looking for her phone to ring her best friend. According to the information provided by Sunoo, Addelyn should have had a ring slid on her ring finger. And the thought of her bestfriend being taken before her, was making her go wild even in her slight dizzy state.

She rolled down her chat list to look for the girl's contact ID and dialed her at 5:10 in the morning, which she expected to get missed.

"Hmm?"

"Sleepy?"

"I just woke up."

"Your voice explains well. By the way, how's your heart?"

"My heart? Did I have a heart attack? Not that you don't give that."

"How wouldn't you get a heart attack when your prince sits down on one knee? Or did he just slide it on your finger? Wait, did you kiss? Come on, temme!"

"Prince? Kiss? Have you lost your mind?"

"Eh! Don't act shy to me, Kay Kay?"

"Who's shy? What are you talking of?"

"What do you mean, what?"

"Can you narrate me all, from the start? Who would kiss me? You know, I'm still living in solitary."

"Wait, did Yeonjun not propose you yesterday?"

"The fuck?!"

"Hopefully, you didn't. Or if you did, I need to get ready with an appointment with the gynecologist."

"Don't laugh. You're embarrassing yourself. Who will I fuck? Except your fate, I mean."

"Oh, Shut up! You're saying as if Yeonjun didn't propose already. When I was with Sunoo yesterday, he informed me that the two Choi's and he shopped in the mall along with Yeonjun getting a ring for you. He should have proposed you, so stop acting."

"Are you making fun of my crush on him? At such an ungodly hour?!"

"Why are you so frustrated? Did I say something wrong?"

"You're not joking?"

"Why on earth will I? Wait, did I give some major spoilers?"

"Oh man! You just didn't spoil it all."

"Oops..."

"I hate you. You shouldn't have told me that he was proposing me. Whatever, he didn't yet, for I was asleep quite early yesterday. Tell me what Sunoo got you. He can't come barehanded."

"He did. He got me an expensive burgundy red jumpsuit for the graduation prom. Also, a 3 grams gold chain. You know, I was never gifted."

"Did you forget me?"

"By some guy. Even my brother would just get me flowers cause we couldn't afford anything."

"Happens. I texted Soobin right now."

"About the proposal?"

"Nah! A goodmorn'. He said that Sunoo got a teacher's job in a coaching centre. Good for him. Congratulate him from my side. I will be busy today. Dad said he'd visit me. I hope Yeonjun has the nerve to propose me infront of my British dad."

"Are Brit dads overprotective?"

"All dads in general. I think my dad is more like easy but would want the world's better than bestest man for me, someone ten times better than him."

"That's cute."

"Maybe. I'm used to having that attitude. But I can tell you he loves me more than Yeonjun can ever. So, technically no guy would ever be better than my dad. That's why I'm afraid, Yeonjun may get rejected."

"Just tell me when it happens. I'm giving you $600 if you don't get taken. And you're paying me if you do."

"We'll see. Shall meet you at 4:30 and pick you up."

"Alright."

She tied her hair and kicked chores for the day. That can be done later. She needed to get a good breakfast for Heeseung. He stayed up half the night because she passed out. Why does he like being this?

Changing her PJs, her mind struck about the night before. When did she change into sweatpants? Did Heeseung do that too? No please, was what her mind rang.

Not thinking of it too much, she made herself some coffee to fight the hangover. Guilty about drinking wine, she commited to not repeat. Addelyn would be mad as hell on her. And Sunoo... Does he drink?

She took sips on the hot liquid, watching the sunrise on the balcony and thinking about herself.

Addelyn is quite an interesting fellow. So is Heeseung and Sunoo. If only she was too. They were like the reason she lived.

How funny isn't it? That we fear death yet that's what takes us away from the struggles?

Why don't we talk of that?

Isn't life also like the caffeine in the coffee? We love coffee, some people consume it so much. But caffeine is a little addictive too, isn't it?

If something I've learnt living with these three people, then that would be the fact that no one is really alone. We may think that, but everyone is suffering some the other way.

What a fresh way to start the day!

She headed on her feet and changed minds on procrastinating the tidying. Sunoo does have a great influence on her. Addie ain't so neat either.

"Bro, wake up! It's 8:10 already. You got work in an hour, and so do I. Come on, head up to the bathroom." She sprinkled drops of water on his face with the spray bottle she uses for watering the bamboo shoots.

"Mgmh! You're such a brat." He whispered his nagging nature even in his sleep.

"And you're a punk. Now get up!" She laughed at his comment, knowing how much he hates to accept it, but can never deny her presence.

Pushing him to his room, she set the table for them. She couldn't serve him much on the first day after he got transferred back to Seoul. He did rent a house but it's condition is worse than Sunoo's.

"I'm back. Why did you drink yesterday?" Not even a while ago, he was mumbling like kids. Lo and behold, he's back to his personality.

"My mistake." She apologized without arguing. He has his rights to get mad with her.

"Just get one thing straight in your head. I know you heart more than you. But not everyone is capable of keeping it like that. Be careful when you choose."

"Huh?" She questioned his looks and continued eating the bread toast. He giggled under his breath, looking more suspicious than ever.

"Nothing. How long will you work today?"

"Till 5:00 pm and then come home for a rest. Back to studying at 7:00 pm at Sunoo's."

"How long do you know Sunoo?" He asked, eating his smoothie bowl.

"Umm... Almost 2 months."

"When you brought him to me, since then is it?"

"Hmm. 2 days before that."

"And how did you meet? He didn't work in your café and you were always in girl's school and women's university." He cocked his eyebrows with a quirky smile.

"Umm... Maybe tell you later?"

"Tomorrow, Tonight, Always..." He smirked.
