Chapter 33 : ReizenDimensia
"Knock, Knock! Wake up, Y/n-ah!" I tossed around on my bed, yawning and stretching my crackling bones as the smell of Heeseung's coffee tickled my nose.
I rubbed my eyes and tried to focus on the vacant walls of my room with my dilate globes before getting up to advance towards the bathroom.
I turned the faucet of the sink on and splashed a drizzle of water over my face, washing the weariness of the awaking morning. Brushing my teeth, I looked at my face in the mirror. Tired and drenched, my skin still appeared to gleam. My eyes fell on the little scars on my neck, which made me chuckle at them.
I brushed my fingers on them and thought about the days when I was helpless and poor. But now, look at me, I was joining the LCMB Pvt Ltd group as the chief advertisement executer.
Sunoo was the happiest when I received my hiring mail, which I thought would be Heeseung's reaction. He didn't give me a very satisfied look, despite being hired by the best company our generation could spot.
As a recent graduate from Ewha and not the SKY or Harvard, I should be the one to have the least possibilities of getting hired. But I did.
Maybe, He's happy but wants to act tough like "that guy" and is contemplated inside. Else he wouldn't get me that pretty black coat to top my beiges.
I pulled my taupe pencil skirt and pale blue shirt, topping it with Heesung's gift. Doing nothing but a simple bun of my hair, I picked up my orange bag and proceeded to the kitchen.
"Calm down! You have 1 hour to reach." Laughing at my restless speed, Heesung addressed me to the table and placed a plate of hot butter toast with a poached egg.
"When did you get up to prepare this?" I asked, cutting the poach to devour it for my craving taste buds.
"Half an hour ago. You're not going hungry today. I prepared our lunch too. Also, you're looking like a lawyer." He smiled.
"Thanks!"
I giggled at him as we ate our breakfast. I took out the knee length boots, Addelyn had gifted me for my 20th birthday, and started towards the door.
I closed the heavy metal gate behind me and was on my way towards the bus stop, but the beeping horn of Heeseung's vintage car, made me take a halt.
"We'll be going to the same area. I'll drop you." Heesung unlocked the passenger's seat door and ushered me in. I smiled at him and took to the seat. He started the engine towards LCMB Pvt Ltd building and I settled on my seat.
I took my phone out and texted my girl who must be having midnight right now. Completing her master's degree, she finally got the dream position on the board of stars. And who wouldn't be happy for the angel?
Celebrating her achievement, she was spending her time with her Dad and Aunt in the United Kingdom, where she originally belongs too.
Although it's a pretty late time there, I'm sure of the fact that she's wide awake and is waiting for my text.
Living with people makes us take up their mental habits as ours and remember it in synchronization. And never have I ever been wrong about her.
Not even a second that I received the goodnight message from her, which made me chuckle at her cuteness. She attached a file, a PNG of her and her boyfriend, or precisely fiancé, cuddled up under the blanket.
I showed the photo to my brother, who couldn't help but curve his lips at their romantic relationship.
Looking at it, I remembered about Sunoo and rang him for a face time. They say, seeing some faces in the morning brightens your day. And if it were to be true, it would be him for me.
"Good morning!" I waved at him as he received the call.
"Morning!" His just woken up, husky voice felt deep and ran chills in me.
"What you doing?"
"Getting ready for the academy. A new year, a new batch of students. They changed the centre as a school now and I'm one of the chief teachers." He pulled the cuffs of his shirt and fixed his tie with those veiny but soft hands. Spraying some perfume on his wrists and hitting them on his collar bones, he sat down on the side chair.
"Great! I am joining the team today. I told you, right?"
"Yeah, you did. Is it hyung beside you?" He pointed at Heeseung and I nodded to him, turning the screen towards Heesung.
"Good morning, hyung!" Past 2 months, that Heesung and Sunoo had known eachother and I can bet that their bond was truer than Addie's and mine.
"Morning, bro." Heesung replied.
"I was wondering if we should catch up this weekend." Sunoo proposed.
"Sure! Bro?" I approved and waited for my brother to reply.
"Sure." He said.
"Great then. Alright, bestie, I needa leave now. Meet you at the lab and don't come if that overworks you."
"Bye!" We, Lee siblings responded in unison as Heeseung pulled the plug of the engine on.
I got out of the car and waved at him, before entering the building gates. I watched him roll by and started towards the security deck and signed the entry list.
The huge edifice that lingered around the stratosphere, was embedded by tinted glass windows and a hifi entrance check. I entered the passing gate and took my joining papers out.
Submitting the documents, I waited outside the office for my identity card and pass check to be handed to me. With a prolonged wait of 10 minutes, the reception woman passed me the card and directed me to the office.
I saw a ton of new graduates passing their joining duly and waiting for their pass checks. I walked with the que of the new employees and took a look around the deluxe rooms and halls.
Unlike most, I didn't join as an intern or general manager, but as the advertisement project director. I had first thought the job to be a freelance editor but my doubts were clarified wrong when they hired me as their in house project executer.
"Yes ma'am, your sector please." A comparatively short guy, shorter than my brother and Sunoo, with bold jaws stood Infront of me.
"Advertisement." I replied.
"Let me help you get to the office."
"Thank you." We started walking straight, my shoes clicking on the marbled floor. He took to the left, but I clearly remember the office location to be on the right.
"Aren't we supposed to go to the right?" I enquired.
"All the interns are to head to the left cubicle. That side is for the directors."
"Oh, you must have been mistaken! I am not here as an intern, I am the new director of the advertisement team." I corrected his statement and gave a posh smile, maintaining the stature, Addelyn has been training me the whole week.
"Are you Lee Y/n?" He asked.
"Yes, I am Lee Y/n."
"Oh My God! I'm so sorry, ma'am. I didn't realise at first. Please forgive me. Yes, please head to the right then." He scratched the back of his neck and leaded me towards the right, to the comfy big cabinet, labeled as the Director's cabinet.
I bowed to him as a reaction to his bow and sat on the chair, preparing the paperwork for the group. He sat in the cubicle next to mine and opened his laptop, jabbing his finger on the keyboard and judging large resumes.
I started to wonder, if I should ask him his name, but refrained from doing it for the attitude I presented a while ago, needed me to act upon my stump.
I checked the time schedule and braced myself to get a hold of the new names I was to hear, as a boss of the department.
"Ma'am, it's time for the meeting." The guy said.
"Yeah, I'm ready."
I reached the conference hall and the whole group of junior employees and interns stood up to greet me. A sense of power and authority spread in my veins, which dissolved in my oxyhaemoglobin corpuscles.
"Good morning, group! I am Lee Y/n and I'll be your director for the project. Before we get to the work, I'd appreciate if I'm introduced to all of you." Sitting on my chair, I clicked my pen and jotted the specific roles I was planning to distribute, based on their summaries about themselves.
I projected the mail details on the white screen behind as the last member of the group, discussed her skills.
"As we already know, it's particularly about the upcoming launch of the travelling system, ReizenDimensia, we are going to focus it on the possible quick traveling.
What we need to focus, is the basic facilities that are being offered. Now, who all are focusing on the marketing sales?" I was feeling much confident than I used to be, as I started the procedure conference.
"Ma'am, according to our sales rate, the highest potential target includes the young adults. We already know how much we hate the regular buzzle, which is why them trying our sources would be effective." Said the marketers' resource manager.
"And any more suggestions?" I was replied by a deafening silence and gave up my wait for any suggestion.
"Alright, I want you all to study the details which I have forwarded and report your own strategy policies to me by tomorrow. Also, the work shall start by the next month at most. Now, meeting dismissed." My subordinates got up to leave, just how we used to leave the university class after the bell.
I massaged the temple of pressure between my eyebrows and sipped on the coffee I was provided with, before getting up to return back to my cubicle.
I checked the time on my phone and texted Addelyn, disrupting her peaceful sleep, which was undoubtedly overlooked. I looked through the images she had sent after I closed the phone.
They were from the graduation ceremony, a month before. New year, they chose as their date and venue was the large auditorium of our university. I needed not to worry about the outfit I was pulling because Sunoo had already prepared that. I had worn that gold chain around my neck with the burgundy jumpsuit.
Addelyn was supposed to pair with me but Yeonjun had cutely requested for me to let him take her out. I thought, I'd be the loner again but Sunoo had just come prepared with every arrangements. We went together.
It was a night I shall always remember. I topped the class, which is absolutely the reason why I am a manager and not an intern. They put a badge with my face and name on the board of stars, an honour I received with Addelyn. And he was there to share it with me. He was there to ask me for the dance and light the stage on fire. He was there to save my embarrassment.
I had learnt to genuinely appreciate the changes of life, I was going through while adulting. Hazardously riding through the hellevator, I was facing psychomachy before he came. I have significantly changed and on a good note.
His presence was inevitable and elysian.
I closed my phone and decided to wrap up for the day, hitting the clock at 7:00. I did't realise how long our meeting was and how quickly the day passed.
I completed the last set of paperwork, preparing a short note of the ideas I was given today. I concluded that appointing an influential figure for the project would be the best.
Stretching the folds on my dress, I picked my bag to leave the building when the guy from the morning crossed paths with me.
"Leaving?" He asked.
"Yeah."
"Alright. Travel safely. Oh Wait! Did I introduce myself?"
"Well, unfortunately, you didn't."
"I'm sorry. I am your partner for the project ReizenDimensia. Jaechan, Lee Jaechan." He raised his hands.
"Nice to meet you, Jaechan-ssi." I took his hands to shake.
