10 ~ Shocking News
Scott and Stiles leave the school to warn Derek about Jennifer. I ask them to drop me off at the animal clinic as I have quite a few questions for Deaton about what the hell is happening to me. I storm into the animal clinic, shutting the stormy weather outside. "Deaton?" I call out, hoping and praying he's here. "Deaton, I need to talk to you!"
"Yes, and I need to find the time to buy a more prominent closed sign," he says, finally coming out of the shadows of the surgery room. Several towns have already lost power due to the storm. "What do you wish to talk about, Kayden?"
"At the school, the Darach showed up - it's my English teacher. She kidnapped me and Lydia. She said she'd never seen a banshee and a True Alpha together before, how it was a very rare sight. Lydia is the banshee so how am I a True Alpha?" I explain, get flustered while trying to do so. The facial expression on his face changes and he shifts weight from one leg onto the other. "What? Do you know what's happening to me?"
Deaton opens his mouth to speak, but closes it again. I wait patiently for him to gather his words. "Did Lydia scream?" He asks and I slowly nod my head. After, he did the same, taking in a deep breath and exhaling audibly. "If a dolorwolf is to come into contact with a banshee, they have some sort of connection, they manage to siphon their powers and - to an extent - use them. A banshee's scream is very powerful, so powerful that, in some cases, it's been known to kill people. A dolorwolf cannot be killed by a banshee scream, they scream back, reflecting it away from them. The scream brought you through the thin line of being a dolorwolf and being a True Alpha. It must also mean that either the scream was very powerful or it is only a matter of time before Scott shows his true form too."
"You're not telling Scott," I shake my head before I even process anything else. He looks at me very confused as to why and I just shake my head again. "Scott can't know this is happening. He'll try everything he can to stop my curse and right now, we need to stop the Darach and stop the sacrifices, and stop the Alpha pack from trying to kill us all."
"You don't know how long the curse will pan out over, it could be days, weeks, months, or even years before it happens. The longer it takes, the better it should be for you," he replies, simply.
"What do you mean?" I ask immediately. He gives me a look which automatically makes me know he knows something and he's hiding something. "Deaton, what aren't you telling me?" I growl, getting frustrated.
"You can't know anything more, otherwise it will affect the balance of nature and you will most likely die," he states. "I don't want that on my conscience and I won't, and I hope you understand that is the reason I am refraining myself from telling you."
"Deaton, please, lives are at stake here, I don't really care about the balance of nature. People I care about, people I love. Isaac is currently not talking to me because 'I need to accept it. I need to face it myself.' I don't want to face it - it's taken too much from me and I have a lot left to lose. I'd rather die than have the others around me die," I protest, raising my voice until I end up shouting. I take a deep breath in and out. I start to talk again, only this time a lot more calmer. "I have Scott to lose, I have Lydia to lose, I have Allison, I have Stiles, I have my Mom, I have Mr. Stilinski, who has just been taken to be sacrificed, by the way, I have Isaac to lose, I have Cora and Derek to lose. You don't seem to understand two lives are at stake here at the moment. Cora's in hospital falling in and out of consciousness and Stiles' Dad has been taken."
"I understand that, I'm sure you and Scott will see the light at the end of the tunnel. As my sister always says; 'if you're going through hell, keep going'," Deaton replies, making me want to slap him. Why can't he understand I want sympathy here?
***
"Wait, so why are we not killing her, won't that be a lot easier? I mean, she is no innocent, and if our consciences can't take it, then we let Peter do it," I ask Scott and Stiles, sticking my head between the seats of the Jeep. "Like you're okay with leaving her in the car with Derek, because I'm totally not."
"No, of course we're not okay with it," Scott snaps at me, making me tone down my sarcasm. "She knows where Stiles' Dad is and if we kill her, she won't tell us."
"I don't know, something feels wrong about this," Stiles shakes his head, concentrating his gaze on the car in front of us. "You know, we proved it to Derek, but she still had this look like it didn't matter. You know, like it was all still going according to plan. Scott, you saw it, didn't you?" Scott doesn't reply and the three of us don't talk again until we pull up at the hospital.
We all jump out of the Jeep and run into the rain. I catch eye of something in Stiles' hand but the rain is so heavy, I can barely see what it is. "What's that?" I ask, pointing to the inanimate object in his hand.
"You guys got claws, I got a bat," he shrugs his shoulders, as we walk out of the rain and into the hospital where it seems like a frenzy. Derek and Jennifer join us to see people are rushing round, pushing patients out of the door and into ambulance for transfers. We start heading to the elevator before I hear someone calling my name.
"Scott! Kayden!" We turn around to see who the person is and I have to say, I shouldn't really be shocked Mom caught us. We knew she was supposed to be working this shift, so why didn't we expect her to see us? "What are you doing here? The hospital's evacuating."
"We're here for Cora," Scott replies.
"What, all of you?" Mom questions. "Why does Stiles have my bat?"
"Mom, just trust us on this, you need to get out of here," I tell her, brushing off the comment on Stiles having her baseball bat. "Right now."
"The building is supposed to be clear in 30 minutes. We've got two ambulances that are coming back. One's 10 minutes out, the other is 20. Cora needs to be on one of those. They'll be picking up in the basement garage, now go," Mom answers, letting us go. I nod and we head down the hall to get in the elevator.
Derek drags in Jennifer by her arm and once the doors close she sighs. "You don't have to keep me on a leash, Derek. I'm going to help." She turns her head to see Scott looking at her in a hostile way, then the other to see Stiles holding his bat up high. I just stand next to Derek and tap my foot impatiently, wanting to get to Cora a lot quicker than the pace we are going at.
The elevator dings and the door open. We speed-walk down the hall and there's one door open. We look in the room to see an empty room but with a black substance on the floor, with mistletoe in it. I notice little speckles of it trailing out of the room and through another closed door. "Derek," I say, getting his attention. He follows the direction of my gaze and snaps his head up when muffled grunts sound through the thickness of the doors.
The door swing open and Peter slides across the floor, stopping right in front of our feet and looking straight up at us. "We got a problem," he notes. He lifts his head up o see back through the door. "A big problem." Ethan and Aiden, formed into the whole werewolf, come into sight and growl at us through the doors. When Scott turns into an Alpha, I want to learn how to do that.
Derek shifts and runs down the hall and goes to fight them, but when they start to unbelievably kick his ass, Scott tries to help by joining in. That doesn't do much as they just throw him around like a rag doll. "Well aren't you going to do something?" Peter exclaims at me.
I can't shift then Scott will see my eyes. I look at the end of the hall and see Cora lying unconscious on the floor. "Help me," I say, helping Peter up off the floor and dragging Stiles by the arm. The twins hold Scott up by his neck, against the wall and we run past them, getting to Cora.
"Ethan, Aiden, stop!" Scott manages to splutter out. "You don't know what you're doing!"
"All we want is her!" They growl in a very disformed voice. My heart drops to the floor when I realize I left Jennifer on her own. I look at the end of the hall to see her in the elevator, with the door closing. The twins start to run to the elevator to try and stop her from getting away, but the doors close to quickly.
Peter puts Cora over his shoulder and we all start to run out of the hallway and through another room. "Don't stop! Don't stop!" Derek yells. Stiles stops and looks at the bat. "Stiles!" Derek and I shout in unison. He waits for the twins to walk back in and hit their head with the bat. It doesn't work at all, the bat kind of just explodes and the twins don't even flinch.
"Stiles! My Mom is going to kill me!" I whine at him, kind of annoyed he broke my Mom's baseball bat which she never uses. Stiles practically sprints back over to us when the twins growl at him. Before anyone knows what is happening, Scott jumps into the air and pulls the light off the ceiling and it hits the twins in the face. We take that as our chance to run and we all end up in a room with a metal table, where Peter places Cora.
"Where's the big guy?" Stiles asks.
"He close," Derek replies, closing the doors and looking through the windows.
"What about Ms. Blake?" I ask him, trying not to hit a sensitive spot. No reply comes and I start to freak out a little. "What do you mean? What does that mean, like she's gone? Scott are you kidding me?"
"Shhh! Quiet!" Derek snaps at me, keeping a look out from the windows in the doors.
"Me be quiet? Me, huh? Are you telling me what to do now? When your psychotic, mass murdering girlfriend, the second one you've dated by the way, has got Stiles' dad tied up somewhere, waiting to be ritually sacrificed -" I begin to rant at him, possibly going a bit over the top, especially since when we got into that really big argument - when we said things we definitely did not mean - I mentioned Kate and how everything with his family was his fault.
I manage to stop myself from ranting and raging before I go to far and say more things I don't mean. "They're still out there," Scott says in a hushed, whispering tone. Stiles turns his head towards him and finally speaks up.
"And - and they want her, right?" He starts off quietly before beginning to speak again, only raising his voice. "Which means we don't have her either, so my Dad and Cora are dead." He turns to Derek in the mention of Cora.
"Not yet," I shake my head. As soon as I finish speaking, the lights begin to flicker again, sending us into a darkness for a few seconds. I walk over to Peter and the lights slowly flicker back on. "Is she really dying?"
He shrugs and looks at me directly in the eyes - I could see the stress and concern swimming in his irises. "She's definitely not getting any better," he shakes his head, turning back to his niece; my new close friend. I'm not going to let this stupid curse get the better of me. Not now, not ever. Isaac was right - I do need to face it and I'm not letting it take me, or my loved ones, down without a fight.
"There has to be something we can do. We have to help her," I state evenly. Scott, Stiles, and Derek all listen intently to our conversation, trying to pry any information they could. They need to know - we all do. As if on cue, the doors open and Ms. Blake walks into the room.
"You can't," she tells us, only being able to see her silhouette in the darkness of the room. "Only I can," she steps into the light, trying to make herself seem more trustworthy. We all know that she is far from trustworthy, but she might be our only hope. "I can save her, and I can tell you where Sheriff Stilinski is, but there is a pack of Alphas in this hospital who want me dead. So I'll help you, but only when I am out of here and safe." She makes her price and I find it very flexible until she adds on. "Only then."
Okay, so this bitch is serious, she doesn't want to die, she values her life, only - maybe that means she isn't all psychotic. Wait...
Derek snaps me from my thoughts as he pushes me out of the way to jump at Ms. Blake in a surge of anger. Scott holds him back and tells him to calm down, while Stiles helps me up from the floor. "She was trying to escape," Derek yells, pointing at her, once Scott had detained him.
"I was trying to keep from getting killed, you can't blame me for that," she argues, which, to be fair, is a good point. I would do the exact same and argue the exact same thing.
"If you wanna show you're one of the good guys, then heal her," Stiles intervenes, pointing over to Cora. Ms. Blake shakes her head and refuses to do so until she is safe.
"I'd like to volunteer a different method of persuasion," Peter speaks up, looking away from his niece and over Scott and Derek's shoulder. "Let's torture her."
"Works for me," Derek agrees. The PA makes a high-pitched squeaking sound and my attention snaps up to the intercom. "Um, can I have your attention? Mr. Deucalion... Excuse me, just Deucalion, requests you bring the woman calling herself Jennifer Blake to the E.R. reception. Do this, and everyone else can leave. You have ten minutes," my Mom's name sounds out through the room, sending my heart to go plummeting to the floor.
Ms. Blake detects the look on my face and shakes her head. "He's not going to hurt her."
"Shut up," Derek and I say in unison, knowing she's only saying that to try and trick us into helping her.
"He won't!" She reiterates, making me roll my eyes and lose my attention - I may love my Mom, but she's I'm not manipulative and naive enough for her to mess with my head. "Kayden, Scott, you know why." My head snaps up at the mention of my name.
"What does she mean?" Derek questions, immediately, sending his gaze behind him, over to me. I look blankly at him and then back to Ms. Blake, hoping that she's not hinting to what I think she is.
"You're not the only one he wants in his pack," she tells Derek, speaking for me. Derek looks back at me, again, looking rather confused. "Deucalion doesn't just want an Alpha pack, he wants perfection. That means adding the rarest of Alphas to his rank."
"A true Alpha," Peter thinks aloud, my heart beating faster and faster by the second. They can't find out I'm an alpha, not yet. I don't want anyone used as leverage for me to have no choice but to join the alpha pack. That's what Deucalion will do; use anyone and everyone close to me so I am forced to join his pack. He'd use my Mom for sure.
"What's that?" Stiles asks, as I start to feel nauseous. Why must we talk about the one thing I've been delaying at the most inconvenient time?
"The kind that doesn't have to steal his or her power from another," Peter explains, saying pretty much the same thing Deaton told me at the end of summer. "One that can rise by the force of their own will." Peter looks at Scott and me intently. "Our little McCall twins."
"It doesn't matter," I shake my head, trying to wave off the situation. "We still need to get her out of here."
"Kayden, your mom-" Stiles protests.
"My Mom said there's one more ambulance coming in twenty minutes. And I don't think we've been here that long, so if we can get down to the garage, get to the last ambulance, we can get out of here," I tell everyone in the room; bar Cora since she's pretty much dead.
"The twins aren't just going to let us walk out," Peter shakes his head, scoffing, like it's obvious - which it kind of is.
"I'll distract them," Scott finally speaks up after staying in silence throughout the whole conversation. He clearly has questions for me when we get out of this place.
"We both will," I add on.
"You mean fight them?" Derek corrects the two of us.
"Whatever we have to do," I nod my head. I look at Scott and he does the same, to show we are going to get through this, no matter what is thrown at us.
Derek stops for a while before sighing, giving in. "I'll help you," he replies, looking me right in the eyes as he does so.
"Um, sorry, but I'm not going anywhere without you, Derek," Ms. Blake speaks up, ruining the almost perfect plan. She just had to ruin it, didn't she? I am trying to be more optimistic and all, but there's no way in hell Scott and I can take on both of the twins on our own, they're way to powerful and so much more stronger than us - even combined.
Peter sighs and steps forwards. "I'll do it," he says very forcefully. "But I'd prefer to be out there with an advantage."
"Advantage like what? You mean a weapon?" Stiles questions his plan, all of us being confused by what he means.
"Something better than a baseball bat," Peter shrugs his shoulders. Any other time, I would've laughed, but this just wasn't really the time, nor the place, to be laughing at anything. The five of us all look at each other before ransacking the room, to try and find a weapon to use against the twins.
I rifle through the draws, trying to look for something of use to us, when Stiles speaks up. "Hey, wait. What about these?" He announces, holding up a defibrillator.
"Do you know how to use those?" I ask him, raising an eyebrow at his choice of weapon. Stiles looks at them, rather confused before shaking his head. "Then put them down." He slams them down and looks through another set of draws, on the other side of the room.
"Epinephrine?" Scott asks, holding up a syringe, with a six inch needle, filled with a clear liquid.
"That's only going to make them stronger," Derek says, looking back at Scott before turning back to what he was doing, prior.
I widen my eyes and look at Peter as he pops his head around the cabinet door. "How strong?" We ask Derek at the same time. Derek gets to what we are hinting at as he snatches the needle from Scott's grasp and hands it to Peter, pushing him out of the door. Peter injects the substance into the left hand side of his chest and stumbles further into the hallway as he is rather drugged up. "All right boys, let's rumble."
Scott and Peter begin to shift, leaving me stood on my own, not wanting to shift. If I shift now, Ethan and Aiden will know I am an alpha now, and they'll tell Deucalion. Stiles, Derek, and Ms. Blake leave the room, with Cora in Derek's arms. Derek's face drops when he sees Scott and Peter fighting the pair, with me just stood watching them. "What are you waiting for? Go help them," he snaps at me as Ms. Blake and Stiles hurry out of sight. I shake my head and flash him my eyes. "Look, he won't care, if anything, Scott will support you through this. We don't have much time, just go!"
With that, he disappears down around the corner and I take in a deep breath before running and jumping on Aiden's back, trying to stop him from attacking Scott. It doesn't do much, though, as I end up hitting the floor in five seconds, flat. Scott and Peter help me up, running a different way from the other four went and leaving the twins in the hallway. However, we only have a few seconds before they begins to run after us again.
Peter collapses to the floor and grunts when his head hits the wall. "That shot didn't last very long," he shakes his head as Scott and I put an arm each over our shoulders. We end up in the 'soiled laundry' room of the hospital to try and catch our breaths. "Those twins are really starting to piss me off," Peter pants, dragging out the 'really'.
"How the hell are we supposed to get past them?" Scott replies in a hushed tone as he looks out of the small window in the door.
"Personally, I think if we keep letting them beat the living crap out of us, they'll tire and give up," Peter states, and I nod my head, pointing at him in agreement.
"That is a very good point, I like your thinking," we all pause and stay in silence for around a second or two. "Despite the mass murdering phase you went through. I don't like that thinking, I just agree with your point," I try to recover. I see Scott and Peter looking slightly beyond me and I follow their gaze to the laundry chute. "You've got to be kidding?"
Peter jumps down first, then Scott, then me. Nobody told me that both Peter and Scott were still in the laundry cart before I slid down, so I land on top of them, cushioning my fall. Scott and Peter push me off the top of them and Peter scowls at the both of us. "You couldn't have waited like, ten seconds?" Scott's phone vibrates and Peter sighs, rolling his eyes. "They didn't get out, did they?"
Nope. They didn't. Turns out Kali killed the ambulance driver before they could even get there, but Stiles and Cora are safe in the back of the ambulance. Derek and Jennifer, however, are stuck in the elevator.
We all push ourselves out of the dirty laundry and start to head out back, to get to the ambulance. I knock on the doors to the ambulance, scaring the living crap out of Stiles. "Stiles, open the door, open the door," I say, really rushed. He nods and quickly opens the doors, while Scott and I help Peter into the back of the big, red vehicle.
"Where's Derek and Jennifer?" Stiles asks, helping Peter into the back.
"We have to go back for them, and our Mom," Scott tells him, worry swimming in his eyes.
"Okay, two problems," Stiles begins. "Kali's got the keys to this thing, and I just saw the twins like, thirty seconds ago." As if on cue, banging sounds around us in the distance.
"Stay here," I order Stiles and Peter. "Come on, Scott." We both enter the hospital again and walk the hallways in silence. We stop when we can sense someone near by. I push Scott out of the way when I see the twins, in their full formed wolf, trying to punch either one of us. The fist hits my temple, making me dizzy and fall to the ground.
I don't faint, just collapse and not able to move. The twins hold Scott up to the wall by his throat and proceed to threaten him. "Where is she?" They yell at him. Before Scott can even splutter out an answer, they speak again. "We're trying not to hurt you."
"Try harder," Scott chokes out.
"Hey!" A voice yells in the distance. I know that voice anywhere. Mom is safe. But obviously not anymore. The Alpha drops Scott to the floor and my Mom smiles at them, sweetly. "I'd like to try something." She doesn't hesitate before using the weapon Stiles first suggested - the freaking defibrillator. They are electrocuted and it causes them to go back into their original form; two teenage boys. Scott stands up and looks at Mom in awe. She turns to me and shakes her head. "Sweetheart, get up."
I weakly push myself up and with Scott's help, I am standing up in no time. Still a bit dizzy - but begin to process how cool my Mom is and how I wouldn't trade her for the world. After a minute or so, I feel fine again and start to walk on my own, without the aid of Scott. "He just let me go and said it was a gesture of goodwill. No other reason," Mom explains what happened with Deucalion as we speed walk through the corridors of the hospital. I swear, by now I know the hospital like the back of my hand.
"He had to have a reason," Scott says as we begin to slow down again. "I don't think he does anything without a reason."
"Yeah, Scott's right," I agree. "He's always plenty of steps ahead of us, he's just trying to set up the perfect plan. He definitely had a reason."
"Well, if that means I should continue to be profoundly terrified, then don't worry about it, I got that covered," Mom nods her head, followed by gulping down a lump in her throat. The three of us hear a gun click and Mom stiffens, frozen to the spot.
I hold my hand up for her and Scott to stay where they are and follow the source of the sound, around the corner. As I near the corner, the pace of my heart begins to quicken. I try to swallow down the fear and push myself to keep going. As I turn the corner, I see a gun pointing in my face and my heart drops. I have a mini heart attack until I realize who the holder of the gun is - Chris Argent. He sighs and lowers the gun. "What the hell, dude, I almost had a seizure," I snap, putting my hand to my chest. I send a faint smile over to Allison and Isaac, who are stood behind Chris, while I catch my breath.
Scott and my Mom follow my footsteps until they are directly behind me again, greeting the three people who happened to join us on this fine night.
***
"So then they're essentially trapped?" Chris asks after Scott and I fill him in on where Derek and Jennifer are.
"Yeah, right," Scott nods his head as he pushes open a door.
"Well, then there's no way of getting them out without turning the power back on," Isaac points out the main issue we have at the moment.
"But, wait, wait, wait," Mom rushes out. "If the power is back on, they're going to hear the elevator moving though, right?"
"And then they'll be on Jennifer and Derek as soon as it stops," I add on, knowing this probably won't be easy, but we have to try, either way. "We can't get in a fight with them."
"Well, you've got us now," Chris assures me, looking at Allison and Isaac, who both nod; Isaac a little more reluctant than Allison. It's been a little awkward between us ever since the recital.
"It's too much to risk," I shake my head. "They want her dead and if she dies, there's nothing that we can do for Stiles' Dad, or Cora."
"I don't even think I know which teacher this is," Chris shrugs his shoulders, like that is the most important detail right now.
"She's the one with the brown hair," Isaac speaks up, gesturing to the length of her hair on him. "She's kind of hot," he nods. Everyone in the room stares at him and he gets the hint; he probably shouldn't have said that. "No, it's - just an observation."
"I've got an idea," Allison speaks up. I gesture for her to explain and she begins. "Our hair is quite similar, so I can distract them, making them think I am her while you get the elevator on and try to get them out. Kayden and Isaac take the car as a getaway car for them. We get Derek to open the doors to make a noise and make it seem like she got out. It's pretty simple."
Isaac and I look at one another before quickly averting our eyes. I scowl at her and she smiles, knowingly. She did that on purpose. That's how I end up in a car with Isaac, alone, air filled with tension and awkwardness. Isaac opens his mouth to say something, but is cut off by my ringtone. I answer the video chat and Allison beams at me. "You both ready?" She asks as I prop my phone up on the dashboard.
"Yeah," Isaac replies after taking a deep breath.
"Kayden, you ready?"
"Ready? I was born ready," I joke, trying to lighten the mood, but the shakiness in my voice says otherwise.
"You're not nervous are you?"
"Do I look nervous?" I question, looking directly at the phone, trying to stare her down.
"No, not at all," she shakes her head, trying to reassure me. She props the phone on the floor, getting ready for the plan.
"Did she look nervous?" Chris' voice blares through the phone.
"Terrified," the younger Argent tells her father.
"Yeah, I can still hear you," I say, turning back to the phone again. "Very, very clearly."
Allison kneels down to look at the camera and purses her lips, forcing them into a smile. "Just go as soon as you see them, okay?"
I nod and look at Isaac, who should really be the one answering her since he's in the driver's seat. "Yeah. Yeah, I got it," he nods. I don't exactly understand why I'm in the car with him, you don't need two people to run a getaway vehicle. A few moments pass and I open my mouth to speak, but no words form. I've got literally nothing to say to Isaac. "So..." he begins. "How are - things?"
I smile at his forced attempt of a conversation. "Uh, if you're talking about the thing we were discussing last night, then not much different, other than the fact I'm not your average werewolf anymore," I shrug my shoulders, slowly trying to reveal to him that I'm no longer a beta/omega anymore.
"W-what do you mean?" He asks and I just show him my the burning, red hue in my eyes and he slowly nods. "Who did you kill?"
"No one," I tell him, truthfully. He furrows his eyebrows and I begin to explain the complicated situation. "Long story short, I'm a True Alpha, I 'rose by the force of my own will'," I say, using my fingers as quotation marks. "Or at least, that's how Peter put it."
Isaac goes to answer, but I hit him in the chest when I see Ethan and Aiden running the corner where Allison's phone is. I end the call as he begins to drive to the main entrance. Kali, Ethan, and Aiden swiftly follow Allison outside, and that is when she and Chris begin to ambush them. They fell right into our trap and they didn't even see it coming. The three alphas flee the scene and Isaac and I end up parking next to the ambulance where Cora, Stiles, and Peter are in.
"All right, come on, come on, come on," Isaac tries to hurry them into getting Cora in the back of the car. Peter and Cora get in the car while Stiles stops, looking at something on the door. Isaac notices him doing the same and prompts him to get in the car. "Stiles, let's go."
He runs off into the other direction and I quickly whip off my seat belt. "Stiles!" He takes no notice of me and continues running. I look at the door to see what Stiles found so much more interesting than getting out of here. It was a form for whoever would be in the back of the ambulance and at the bottom, it read:
Signed: ___________
Parent or Guardian.
Guardian. The last three people to be sacrificed are supposed to be guardians - parents. They're going to be parents. Stiles' Dad. I run after him, ignoring all of Isaac's calls for me. My Mom is supposed to be on the roof, she was the one who turned the power back on in the hospital. I need to find her. She can't be taken from me. Not now. Not with the curse. I can't lose my Mom, she means the world to me.
When I make it to the roof, I see Scott come out of another door. "Mom! Mom!" He yells, running to me. "Where is she?" I just stand there and look around, getting confused.
"They're gone," another voice perks up. We turn to the direction of the voice and see Deucalion, relishing in the moment. "Guardians, Scott, Kayden. If you were with me, I could've told you what that meant. I could've warned you. Let me help you both. Let's help each other. You help me catch her, and I'll help you get your mother and Stiles' father back."
Tears filling up in my eyes threaten to spill as I step forward and begin to walk towards Deucalion, not even being able to look at Scott. My dignity has just been thrown into the trash. I don't think Scott is going to follow me until I feel him grab my hand as he walks beside me. "We're in this together," Scott tells me, shakily, trying to hold back the tears. I can't hold mine back any longer and I just let them slip down my cheeks.
"Scott, Kayden," I hear Stiles from behind the two of us. "No, don't do this. Don't go with him," Stiles shakes his head. Scott doesn't even bother to look back, but when I do, I see the hurt in Stiles' eyes.
I run up to him and throw my arms around his neck, sobbing into his chest. "I don't know what else to do," I cry.
"No, there's - Kayden, there's got to be something else, okay?" He shakes his head, holding me in his arms. "We always... We always have a plan B."
I pull away from him and grab both of his hands, giving them a reassuring squeeze. "Not this time," I shake my head as more tears drip down my face. "I'm going to find your Dad, we both are. I promise."
With that, I let go and begin to walk away with Scott and Deucalion, leaving a crushed Stiles alone. "Scott! Kayden! Don't do this!" He calls back to us as we turn our back on him and don't look back. That has got to be one of the hardest, yet easiest, decision I've ever made. We are going to get our parents back, even if it the last thing that I do.

This took me ages to write, I'm sorry!
Okay, so 3A is drawing to a close soon, with two more episodes to write. I am getting excited for 3B because Void Stiles and I have a lot of plans for who is joining Kayden's pack (more specifically towards the end of the season).
I have two plans for Kayden and Isaac. I'm not sharing them because it will kind of spoil it, but I am wanting to do two completely different ideas and I'm stuck for choosing which one. I'm leaning more to one idea than the other, but I still don't know which to do.
I kind of want them to get back together, but I also want Kayden to be able to be independent because I am wanting to have another love interest with Kayden in the future, and I'm trying to make it seem like she's not just hopping from guy to guy. I think they might get back together, but idk depends what I'm feeling as I'm writing at the time.
Over the weekend, I didn't have any WiFi and I really wanted to write the rest of this chapter so I just got back today and I have been really motivated to write so I finished it off. I am also kind of planning the next episode (the first ever stydia kiss) and I have a few ideas if it doesn't interfere with the plot line!
Can't wait to get this all written because a lot more happens in 3B with Kayden and her powers so I am really really excited to write that!
