"Where on the holy paths am I?"

Her weak hollers crept out of her clenched teeth. Her once gentle morganite lips strutted to keep her warmth clasped. The shards of frost thickened her skin, wakening her invisible pili.

She grabbed the shady cloak dancing ludicrously amidst the perturbing melee of the stealthy winds. Wrapping her frosting skin while musing about the very cloak that she never remembered to have bought within herself, she crouched upon the imperceptible thick smoking grounds. She had hidden her every piece of flesh, keeping her wispy ears open enough to caution her.

Where the hell did I land? Who did trap me here? Her thoughts ran an endless race. Slowly she lifted her curled red-raven lock teasing her face and looked around for some clues. Even the feeble clue would be enough for her eidetic senses to wield a plan for an escape. But not before she found out where she was. She peeked out of the parting slits as she moved her palms to the sides.

Before her eyes could perceive the surroundings, a spout of unburnt raven vapours invaded her sight, making her cough and close her lids within a flick. She opened her pursed eyes once her sudden shudders were calmed as she kneaded her palms to birth some embers of heat, accurate enough not letting them kiss her bland yet bettering cloak. Dusting off some chillness with her new warmth, she opened her eyes braced with a hope to retrieve a clue.

Three-uh... Two-uh... One... I'm steady and secure, she ensured while pressing her damp palms over her frigid temples. She felt some chilling panes over her creases. Her abrupt shrugging released the frigid ices levelling the crease crusts with palm troughs.

Why on holy paths are these ebonic? Her ruby eyes observed the chipped bits.

See-through it! Sense it! Her rattling senses perched.

They loudened as her glances grew into gazes. The choking whines made her heart shriek for a slain truce. She protested to keep her focussed over the watery dews dribbling on her skin, tracing every turn and twist of her angelic petite frame.

When she was pondering over the sliding pale wetness and the freezing raven sheets wafting her skin, a faint burning over her heels caught her attention. She looked through the healing pain of the purple-black bruises.

Bizarre! She worried as she kept her palms over the burns. She gently caressed them and decided to reveal the mystery behind the amoebic purplish patch.

'Uncoveriy itep. Truthft reveyalo.'
(Uncover it. Reveal the truth.)

The moment she decreed, a feeble glint of silver shine erupted from her bruises and took a shape of a speared brush to paint the cause on the bland blanket. As the tips ran, crafting her forgotten anguish and pains, the endless run on the maze of raven storms and panting breaths amidst the frozen scarlet blooms, her eyes recalled every ounce of it.

As the tips of light proceeded to paint the raven bundles of her friends and herself she grew impatient.

'Stopekt tryft revealey!'
'Stop the revelation!'

She ordered, making the magical brush fall with a clink. She buried her sizzling eyes between her palms. She rasped her forehead as her frightened eyes streamed. Her tussled breathes and erratic sighs made her temple raise up and down. The frights and stampedes raced her consciousness which kept fiddling with her.

Get away from here. This isn't where I belong. Her limping strengths cautioned her.

Heeding them, she loosened her taut arms, letting them fall on her thighs in a thud. A soft clank of metal echoed in her tepid ears. The soft shimmers of scarlet stones of her beloved ignited a new ray of hope on her. Without any qualms, she placed her palms over her bracelet, and spelt,

'Musterig Calypso.'
(Muster Calypso.)

But her requests weren't effective.

Does the raven chills snatch your magical core? But, you did create a beam of fire. Did you spell it wrong? Was it...

"Stop it, please!" She quietened the knocks questioning her mind.

Her thatching tears consumed her. She felt locked in a vicious vacuum chamber readied to be foraged by the anonymous malicious beings. She fussed over her fragility, as the nauseous haunts of snow teased her nostrils, piercing through her nostrils. She was succumbing to despair. She closed her eyes, giving off the last whiffs of her hope into the cataclysmic abyss of never-ending mirth.

SCKEEEWW... SCKEEEW...

The surprising screeches were the only melody her ears craved for. She parted her lids only to witness nothing before her. Before she could conclude it to be a delusion, she witnessed a vacuolated void in front of her. There was no weird brush portraying her forgotten memories nor were there any chills creeping over her seething skin. An odious silence brawled her thoughts, silencing everything except for the familiar cries.

SCKEEW... SCKEEEW

The outgrowing cries lightened her heavied heart. She could sense that she was flying afar, like a rider floating on their soul protector. But Calypso didn't come for her. She was unsure of what was happening around. Yet, it didn't scare her. Until the burdens surpassed, she cared nothing more.

When her prying eyes looked at the haunt-worthy chilling fields that now looked like a mere sphere of shadow, emitting jet raven fumes, the swayings of the scarlet blooms flashed behind her rioting emotions.

Once a shot of thrilling irritation bittered her senses, she clasped her lids.

Is it a crazy dream? Or a cautioning vision? Her reckoning brain perched again. She latched up her thoughts not to lend herself a source for a hefty headache.

Amidst her decisions and suspicions, eventually, she did end up somewhere. The mild pressure on her elbows, a cherry scened feathery cage and the moisture on her cheeks told a different tale.

SCKEEW! SCKEEW!

She abruptly opened her eyes drifted to a heinous maze. She saw a relieving sight.

The once black parted beaks were breathing golden between screams, that sounded as jingles of joy to wake her. The metallic feathers had grown massive, lifting the soft soothing quilts in the air, to curl around and embrace the shivering lady besides. The ruby stones had grown alive with raven iris and radial spikes, lighting a candle of faith back in her.

"Thank the gods, you phobophillic woman! Why on divine worlds did you get mare attacks too often?" Mordana yelled while resting a jigger of viscous black liquid on the side tables.

"I... Forgive me, Mora. But it isn't a mare anymore. I must speak to Narngon's superiors soonest possible." She stuttered as she retreated from the comfort of the carmine toned plumages.

"Oh, oh, calm down, Sere. Please don't make me an illegal drug abuser now. Earth isn't easy."

Her witty words earned no laughs, not a chuckle in the least.

"Oh, sorry that. Between, what was your vision? From your stutters and deep breaths, I can sense that it wasn't plain. Tell me more," Mordana asked, rubbing her thumbs from her brows to the sides.

"Ha... You are right. It was a covert mare." She relaxed her taut senses with a deep whiff.

"I was on a recherché grounds. It suited neither Earth nor Aetherth. It was all weird and a bit familiar. I had none around me. It was just me amidst the prickling icy grounds. I was totally baffled but then..." She paused as her eyes flashed their dead bodies between the loose molecules of air.

"Then what?" Mordana queried. But got no reply. Serephina sat like a life frozen sculpture in front of her scrutinizing raven eyes.

"Sere... Sere... Oh, stupid scary crow! Speak or sleep. Stop terrorizing me with your crazy actions." Mordana shook her, tracking her back to realism. Serephina reflexively held Calypso's claws, making it nuzzle her neck.

Mordana's forceful moves unleashed some trickles of tears from her eyes, making her wipe them. When she was about to wipe her wet dews on her cuffs, something caught her attention. She bent her head and found that her scarlet eyes had no kohl.

"Why are the tears black?"

"What?" Serephina's jaws dropped when she looked at her palms. Calypso inclined to take a sharp sniff. While every eye was skimming it dubiously, the dews froze and ejected ebonic vapours to fade.

"Holy heavens! What did just happen?" Mordana quacked, making the carmine winged bird snort.

"This is too malicious. So unreal. I almost decided that I was caged," Serephina declared.

"Caged? Then how did you wake?" Mordana bit her tongue at the stupidest question she tossed.

"I summoned him. He didn't come there, but his voice reached me. Then I saw a black sphere emitting dark smoke all around. Then I closed my eyes and then I'm here. Everything is enigmatic. By the grace of beloved mother I wish things end soon." She gushed a curing sigh.

Mordana looked confused at her. She had no lead nor could conclude her puzzling visions. Yet, she was sure that things had begun just now and there was a long heedless way for them to explore.

"Let's speak to Galene and arrange for a quick meeting. Together we may find a solution. For now relax and release him off his duties," Mordana implied nesting the pearly nape of Calypso.

SCKEEW... TRK... TUH...

Serephina bobbed her head and pecked at the edge of his enthralling eyes. He curved his grizzled neck around the women, kissing their cheeks with his pointed tongue. Serephina took three little apples from her sides and fed him. He took his short meal and stroked his golden beaks on her chin.

"Here take some for Ormr and Xilon. Keep up well. It won't take long for us to greet." Mordana tossed the bedside fruits and meat making rusty potions to a sack and tied it around its milky neck. The massive pet nodded, radiating his gratitude on his ruby eyes and kissed them more vigorously. Once his gratitude made them spill some happy laughs he retreated, ready to slip into their virtual world.

Serephina caressed and kissed him goodbye and spelt,

'Revampow Calypso.'
(Revamp Calypso.)

Sooner she asserted the soonest he became her antique eagle bracelet again. His wings circled her arms elegantly, making him stroke him around her wrists.

"Between, where is Eir?"

"Neither I did see her from the moment I was awake. Maybe she is somewhere around." Mordana sipped the ale from the glass besides. She side-eyed her mate only to realise her smirk.

"Mora, it's unbelievable."

"What? Ale is my sane tea and now what's wrong with it?" She tilted her head up as she burped.

"No! Not that. But the thing over there." Serephina's metal coiled fingers pointed out the pendant and the satchel, appearing messed in a quick robbery.

"Damn the damned! How did I miss to notice it!"

"Isn't that the resurrection trident ensign? I guess it is used lately. See it is oozing some feeble vapours." Her mare sharpened sight missed no detail.

"She has fled to check on something. But where?" Mordana tried to reason.

"Wait! She was lost and sunken right from our mission at Kayte's. Maybe that's where she is now."

"That should be it. Come let's go!" Mordana bent and tidied the room the best she could in ten seconds. Before zipping the bag, she took the locket and slipped it into her crisscross pockets.

"Here, I'm ready!" Serephina straightened her messed hair and guzzled some water from the glassware.

Once they stepped out of their room, after glancing at the teal water walls, they both jerked at the gentle touch of slender palms. With a lump blocking their words, they turned around.

"Ops! Sorry if I scared you both. Glad you guys are awake."

"Madam Galene, Eir..." Serephina paused as she was interrupted.

"Oh! She is fine. She is with me and the boys. And I have a piece of news. Your superiors are in an emergency meeting right now in Narngons. Hope things get along better," she declared clubbing her fingers.

"But for what?" Mordana felt piqued.

"Yet to be told. Come along and relax till then. After all, we have to speak about certain things before the meeting." Her strictness melded their words.

Serephina threw a warning peek at Mordana. But the opal owl hooted her rages within her breaths. As the ruby woman kept her stares less humble, she sighed out her rippling thoughts once for all.

Latching her fleeting commotions, she said, "Certainly, madame. We await to know too many things."

Hope it's enjoyable!

Here are some points to muse.

Where do you think Serephina was?

Why does the dream repeat and make her remember it?

Do you think Eir would have told about her night work to Galene in the least? Why yes or why no?

Until next time,
